Maverick's Real Roast Beef - Stillwater

We had a great experience. The fries were superb! We shared them, along with the slaw - the portions are plenty big. We got a regular roast beef and a beef n cheddar. Plenty of different sauce options to try - both tomato and mustard based, along with other condiments. Would definitely go back and try some other things. Our first & only Mavericks visit; can’t compare to Saint Paul location. And the staff were both friendly and helpful.

Best roast beef I've ever had. They have another location in Roseville. Clean restaurant, great employees. Try the sauces, they are amazing as well!

Hands down the best beef and cheddar I’ve ever had. I love that all the different sauces are made in house. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is clean, and they have a great music selection! We order frequently and will continue to do so.

I’ve tried to give this place multiple chances, I’ve always appreciated Good quality meat, especially in sandwiches, but this just isn’t it. I first tried this in Roseville on the way back from a trip, and had a very good experience. Staff were friendly, food came out quick, and was decently prepared with consideration towards my request. No excessive sauce, no burnt bun, no staff members preparing food without gloves, good times. Until I tried the Stillwater location. There is no care or consideration behind the staff of this location, a sad saying in this town is nothing survives in stillwater (meaning restaurants) and I would hate to see this restaurant go, but I believe it’s a lack of employee care/knowledge. I’ve ordered multiple sandwiches from this location, and almost every single one has been terrible, soggy, and sometimes cold and even the wrong sandwich. I don’t know if there’s any particular staff to blame here, but there is a lack of effort and care for the craft 😔

If you are used to LOVING the old Mavericks in Roseville you will be very disappointed. The roast beef is NOT the same and no way the great flavor or the cut of the past Roast Beef we loved for over 15 years. The bread... very good. The Brisket, Pulled Pork, Turkey on the Turkey Sandwich all taste like unseasoned Crock Pot Meat. I will say the Fries are very good. The pre FROZEN cheese curds with some Garlic on them - were SO SALTY we could not even eat them. Service in Stillwater Yesterday was so slow it took about 24 min to get 3 sandwiches and this was our second trip to this location in 30 days. The first time the service was about 15 min hence why we watched the time more the second trip. So disappointed in the roast beef flavor and size of sandwich compared to the past Roseville Experienced before the new ownership. This location for sure will not make it as it is not been busy either time we have been there. So wanted this place to be like the past Roseville location.

Awesome atmosphere and incredible roast beef. Coleslaw was good. Clean place. We ate in and guess someone really liked the Rolling Stones. We were there about 45 minutes and that was the only music they played. I personally can't stand the Stones. Should have had a VARIETY of music. That's the only reason they didnt get 5 stars. Put on the radio or something.

To start off, I'm going to have to try this restaurant again to give my overall score (reasons below). I was a little torn on how to rate it for the time being, I ended with middle of the road 3 stars. The employees were very friendly, it was very clean restaurant, but for me the food was very blah, especially for the price ($26 for two sandwiches and one french fries). Now I do want to mention I am currently on the keto diet so I couldn't partake in the many sauces and condiments they had available to add to my roast beef sandwich... But my wife isn't on keto and she wasn't impressed with her French Dip either, she thought it was very plain and didn't care for the bun/roll and the french fries were not good (she literally threw them away). I hate to give a lower score to a local restaurant with very nice employees, so I'm hoping when I go back to give it a second shot I can upgrade it to 5 stars.

Super good! Super fresh food! You can taste the quality in the roast beef here! If you dont wanna cheat on your macros; the turkey avocado could be right up your alley! Superior service and outstanding staff!
