Mavrommatis

"Cypriot chef Andreas Mavrommatis and his teams create generous, well-crafted cuisine inspired by classic Gallic traditions and using the best Greek ingredients: carabinero, Volos olives, feta crumble; roasted line-caught sea bass, cockle sauce vierge, chanterelle mushrooms, ewe's-milk yoghurt jus. A Greek culinary adventure in a stylish, minimalist setting that is the perfect foil to food that varies according to the season and the whims of the chef." - Michelin Inspector

I had the pleasure of visiting Mavrommatis yesterday with my parents and it was an absolutely incredible experience. The entire staff (both on the front end and the back end) were incredible and clearly knew what they were doing. We ran into some issues arriving at the location and they were completely not bothered and were eager to welcome us and sit us at our table. The courses themselves were beautifully plated, served at a nice pace, and had such a wide range of delicious flavors and textures. It was our first time visiting a Michelin-star restaurant and were amazed at the overall experience. Everything from the decor, staff, service, and food was executed to perfection. They focus on the small details and check in to make sure that everything is to your liking. We even got to see the chef briefly when he stepped out to speak with some of the staff, so it was nice to put a face to the works of art that were leaving the kitchen. I told our server to say thank you to everyone in the kitchen who were behind the scenes and to the servers who were very attentive to us and the rest of the people dining. I've already recommended this restaurant to some family and friends who were amazed at how amazing the food looked and I will happily continue doing so. Thank you to everyone who was involved in this truly unforgettable experience.

5 star experience at Mavrommatis, a Parisian institution. From the minute you arrive, you're welcomed at the door by the professional staff and greeted by all. You then take a look around and the wonderful, Mediterranean design of the restaurant. Comfortable, elegant, and exquisite. The aptly priced 7 course menu flowed perfectly and was very season appropriate. We paired it with a wonderful Retsina; a great recommendation from the staff. Our favourites were the scallop ceviche with sea urchin, the homey artichoke soup, a perfectly cooked monkfish, and the desserts, especially the chocolate tart with passion fruit, wrapped up the evening delicately. I'm certainly glad we didn't pass on the opportunity to eat here and will likely be returning when in Paris again. Thank you for the wonderful evening.

Exceptional! We went here on Saturday night and had the most amazing experience. The food was incredible. I am vegetarian and the chef fully accommodated all of the courses and without any compromise to quality or flavour. The service was also above and beyond. Everyone was welcoming, accommodating and cheerful. We were there for almost four hours. I could not recommend this restaurant more. Thank you so much.

Google
Exceptional and highly recommended! Service was attentive but not pretentious, food was right on point for the price, and the wine selection exceptional. Definitely get the wine pairing - worth it for the price. Make sure you book in advance and give them a call if you don’t find a table (I did). Loved that it was right off the metro. Cannot wait to be back!

Google
A enjoyable experience. Use of traditional Greek ingredients with seasonal french produce, weaved to create harmonious dishes that please the palette. Every dish was a joy. We were a party of 4, we had the 5 course tasting menu with an extra dish (the octopus which was not part of the set menu). The tasting menu was too much in its own right.

Excellent dinner for the birthday for my father in law!! We all really enjoyed it. This restaurant takes the greek food to another level. We food the familiar greek savory in every dishes in very different ways!! Plus we never had such a big selection for the wine parings compare to other gastronomic restaurants. Highly recommended ~~

Yelp
It's clearly a good restaurant but not worth the price. The bottle of wine was 220 bucks but for only 50 bucks you'll get it at a local Parisian wine store... In comparison to other 1star Michelin restaurant of Paris, it's a steal.

Yelp
Simply superb. Hope you can try this on the terrace in the summer, the best way to savour Greek food. This will set you back a lot, but at least you will appreciate the effort the Chef is making to honour the Greek culinary tradition + some new creations. Really up there, worth going if you like Mediterranean food and want something out of the ordinary. Must try...

Yelp
So excellent! I went to the location off Convention for take away and first of all, it was so clean and beautiful!! The woman behind the counter was very friendly and helpful and prepared my selected dishes to take home in small containers. Everything tasted so amazing! It was pure joy to eat this! It was fresh and the recipes were outstanding! I will definitely be back!

Yelp
All food here is delicious and beautifully prepared. I loved all of the food that I ate in Greece - it is interesting to see the usually homey dishes prepared in a degustation format here. Pricey, but the plates are well crafted, the wine is great and they served the best butter and olive oil I have ever tried with their home made bread. Friendly staff. We were even served complimentary flutes (big flutes) of champagne upon arrival.

Yelp
This place was amazing but there was one small problem...none of us could speak enough Greek or French to read either side of the menu. Our waiter didn't speak much english either so my broken Greek had to suffice...we managed to order and the food was amazing. It's quite high end with reasonable portions and yummy sides. If you like Greek this is a great place to go in Paris. We decided to skip dessert because while I can name most animals and lots of foods (what good Greek doesn't know words for food), my knowledge of dessert food names is limited to pastries. Nevertheless this place was great!

Yelp
Top ten dining experiences ever. Our best meal in Paris and perhaps the best service in a European restaurant I've ever had. Highlights of the meal included the asparagus soup, moussaka and lamb. The coconut sorbet was perfect and the wine list was both interesting and reasonably priced. Special thanks to our waiter, who graciously explained every menu item in English...an overall five star evening. Well done!

Yelp
This innovative Greek restaurant will have you swooning. I forgot the camera and the presentation was gorgeous. The grilled octopus was the best we've ever had. The amuses bouche set the mood. We had a complimentary demitasse of a gazpacho like veloute. Olives, crackers and a cake like bread. The soup de topinambour was delicious with 3 delicate mini ravioli waiting to be drenched in Jerusalem artichoke soup. The main course of trilogy of lamb comprised of grilled lamb, a keftedes on top of a spoonful of hummus and paupiette showcased this phenomenal dinner. The quality of the meat was outstanding. I wished the veg portion was larger though. It consisted of one baby Spring onion and one baby carrot with some of the greens still attached. The carrot was so sweet. Also ordered was the degustation of lamb, one roasted slice wrapped around halloumi cheese, lamb shoulder confit and a lamb chop. Don't be misled by my description these are very tiny portions by American standards, but the quality is superb. The galaktouboureko was far from traditional. It was more like a delicately flavored pannacotta with a demitasse sized dollop of savory ice cream. The plate was sprinkled with powdered violet. The kataifi was also innovative, but not as enjoyable as traditional kataifi. A special place for a special dinner.

Yelp
I thought this restaurant was a very unique experience. It is not your typical Greek food but the family owned and run business puts their own twist on the dishes. The menu is in French but Vasilis (the waiter) did a great job translating the menu and was passionate about the food and presentation. We had a great time! Thanks!!

Yelp
Best Greek restaurant in Paris (Zagats agrees). Oddly enough it is near an area (Rue Mouffetard) where there are a multitude of cheap mediocre Greek tourist spots. But this restaurant is a little off that well-beaten path and is not like any Greek food that you have tasted. Call it Greek Nouveau because it is beautifully prepared and actually light eating. Decent wine list with even quite drinkable Greek wines. Restaurant is airy and light despite not having any outside dining. Also you can actually hear yourself talk here.

Yelp
Came across this place by accident whilst hunting down another venue. What a great find and a marvellous example of how to serve French food! Our French isn't exactly superb, but the waiter popped over and ran through all the items in English for us and served us with no difference to the locals. The food was excellent and unbelievably tasty with some great presentation, a great sight for the eyes and more of a greater welcome for the tummy! A great place, although a bit pricey it deserves a good 5*. Excellent
