"Mawadda specializes in Mediterranean fare, particularly the cuisine of Greece. Mawadda is no frills, just tasty and filling meals of gyros, hummus, eggplant, shawarma and the yummiest of intersectional cuisines of the Mediterranean. It is the perfect place to stop on your lunch break or when you have a busy day planned and need the pick-me-up of a reliably lovingly prepared meal. The baba ganoush and hummus are creamy and lightyears away from anything in the local grocery store’s deli aisle." - Laura LeMoon

☕️ Let me start off by saying I haven’t been here in over 3 weeks. But I decided to try a few other Mediterranean places near my new apartment because I just moved and Burien is now over 45 minutes away from me. After 4 different restaurants I have decided Mawadda Cafe is the best I’ve had and is worth the 45 minute drive. I will be back and I can’t wait. Needless to say If you’re looking for great Mediterranean food, this is the place.🌶️🫑🧄🫓

I came to Mawadda Cafe on Sat night. There were no customers in the restaurant, but we decided to eat. The store was well organized and the tables were clean. It took us quite some time to choose the menu. In the meantime, two people came in and picked up food. We ordered a veggie combo and a Samosa Plate. The food took a long time to come probably the restaurant was busy with phone and online orders. Veggie combo is a fresh made spanakopita triangular spinach pies, falafel, hummus, and stuffed grape. This dish was quite large and even two people could not finish it. Spanakopita triangular spinach pie is crispy and has a strong spinach flavor, falafel is a little salty for me but a good taste, hummus is a little watering taste. Samosa Plate is a golden crispy triangular pies all stuffed with a delicious filling. Choice of filling are chicken, beef and veggie. We only ate one samosa and took the rest home. There are many vegetarian and vegan choices here. I would like to try other things next time.

This is a solid 4 stars from my experience of eating a mixed vegetarian dish. I called it in and asked for a recommendation. I paid $20, including taxes & a very modest tip (dish was $17). The picture is of everything, just as I opened the bag. Salad was fresh - no blackened/decaying lettuce - clearly it was just prepared! 👍 The person answering the phone was very pleasant. The restaurant looked clean and neat, though I didn’t pay a lot of attention. I thought the food was something I’d order again and recommend to someone desiring this type. The 4 stars is only that I can’t give 4.5 and that it wasn’t exceptional. It was at least as I’d hoped and expected from the other reviews I read. It’s a good place to get a meal!

We used Mawadda Cafe in Burien to cater an affair at our home. They were incredible! The food was excellent. They were easy to work with, and provided chafing dishes to keep everything hot. I cannot recommend them enough. Dining in is great, but definitely think of them if you are hosting a party. Fantastic!!!

We ordered takeout dinner for 8 adults last week and could not be happier with the food and service. We picked this place because we’ve eaten there often, especially after shopping at the big box store next door. We’ve consistently had good experiences. I called only two days ahead and the owner was very nice and polite on the phone. I picked Chicken Shawarma, Falafel, rice, salad, hummus and pita for 8. Everything was delicious. The salad had plenty of the good stuff, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lemons and lettuce. The dressing was a nice well balanced creamy garlic. The falafel was super tasty, light and fluffy without crumbling. The pita was and hummus was plentiful and again a hit with the family. The rice was perfectly cooked aromatic middle eastern seasoned basmati. Added touches were a little pasticcio, cinnamon stick and fresh parsley. The star of the night was the Chicken Shawarma. It was well seasoned, cooked just right, very juicy and again plenty of it to go around. I highly recommend trying Mawadda Café in Burien. You won’t be disappointed.

The food here is great! It’s Mediterranean and middle eastern and there’s something for everyone. Great bold flavors. There is a wait so order ahead. One dish I ordered had pita and there was only one peice. On the other hand my salad was huge! The spanokopita is so rich!
