I will return for the Cafe con Leche Coffee Roll. One of the best bites I've had all year! The coffee flavor is soooo good! Whew!
Stopped in to satisfy a donut craving. Started out with a glazed then noticed the coffee roll. THEN saw the apple fritter, at which point the very friendly and patient attendant suggested a 4-pack that comes with a small discount. Ok, ok, don't pull my arm - add in the dulce de leche donut, please and thank you!
The prices are fair for artisinal in my opinion: $3 - $5 (for the coffee roll). They are nice-sized and visually appealing.
When I got home, took a bite of each.
- Coffee roll made my eyes roll back in my head. Deeeelicious!!! As a coffee lover, it was an exceptional treat. And fresh and chewy and not dry.
- Original glazed was....okay. Very soft, fluffy and fresh! But there was not much flavor to it.
- Dulce de leche is cinnamon sugar dusted with a dulce de leche drizzle. I did not taste cinnamon or dulce de leche but the dusting gave it a nice texture. Again, fresh, fluffy, doughy.
- Apple fritter let me down, I can't lie. I love an apple-y apple fritter. This was not that. I actually had to do a double-take to make sure I was eating the apple fritter because I tasted more of a coconut flavor than anything. It's heavily glazed so maybe that's where the coconut resides. Nevertheless, I will take 2 bites later today to confirm. ;)
Not a fan of filled donuts but I will also return to try the two vegan options just to see what they're about.
Overall, I was pleased and must go back for that coffee roll and some coffee!
