Downtown’s New Summer-Ready Rooftop Bar Keeps the Tequila Flowing as Late as 2 A.M. | Eater DC

"Mentioned as Atlas’s modern Mexican mainstay at the foot of Baltimore’s Four Seasons, Maximón is used as a stylistic reference point—Atlas says Lucha Rosa aims for a similar look and feel but to be more playful and cocktail-driven." - Tim Ebner

Baltimore Restaurant Group ‘Will Not’ Bring Racist Dress Code to D.C. Hotel | Eater DC

"Located in the Four Seasons in Harbor East, the Latin-focused restaurant Maximón was among the Atlas venues where, at the urging of Four Seasons partners, the company agreed to stop enforcing its dress code after controversy and criticism about discriminatory enforcement." - Tierney Plumb

I would say if you could go anywhere else, go there instead of here (or any Atlas restaurants). There are tons of restaurants that are actually offering Mexican food that you don’t have to go to as a status symbol or something. I didn’t go here by choice of course, but I was willing to see why people are so excited about it. Very limited menu, even more limited for vegans/vegetarians. I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you have dietary restrictions, as the only options were like asparagus tacos for a main. If you go here you are getting scammed in broad daylight, let me just say that. $9+ for a single taco? Insane. It’s not even just about the prices too, I got the sweet plantains and the “street corn.” The street corn was nothing like actual street corn, it tasted like canned corn with some bland feta on top of it and two slices of chili. Not good at all, and $14 for a little plate of it. The service was also lacking for a high end restaurant, we had to keep asking for water refills, drinks and food took a long time, and food came out separately so people were waiting for their food while others were able to eat. Overall, just not worth it, you would be better off going to a REAL Mexican restaurant. You’re in Baltimore, there’s plenty of good options. But sure, go here if you want to drop a bag for bland food.

As a lover of Mexican cuisine, I selected this restaurant for my birthday for an elevated Mexican experience. The location is fantastic being right off the water. We requested outside seating and the weather cooperated perfectly. We were able to watch the sunset from where we sat. Our server was personable, funny and attentive! He even sung a birthday song for us, it was hilarious, sorry I can’t remember his name. I’ll be going back for the chicken chiccharonnes by itself!! They were cooked to perfection and soooo good!! No complaints around the table. He made sure we liked our drinks and had them done over until we were all satisfied. I loved entire my experience here and will be going back!

I visited the restaurant on a Thursday evening, so it wasn't busy at all. Despite that, the service was excellent—we were seated shortly after we arrived. The waitress was lovely and kind, showing great patience when I asked for recommendations. Our food arrived quickly! While the rockfish with sweet potatoes was insanely delicious, I did not enjoy the mocktail I ordered and ended up sending it back. Everything else was wonderful, including the decor.

We celebrated a special occasion here last Sunday and really enjoyed the overall experience. Service wasn't as polished as the food and decor but it was good enough and didn't take away from an incredible array of dishes we had. Everything from the guacamole, green chorizo and queso fundido, palomilla fritters, street corn to the churros were excellent. Sets a new bar for Mexican food on the east coast. Cocktails were excellent, well balanced and well presented. Lovely seating inside the dining room as well as the patio, beautiful views in every direction.

A stunning culinary gem in the heart of the city! Maximón is a feast for the senses—from its thoughtfully curated ambience to the stunning, eclectic decor, this Mexican-inspired restaurant is truly a beauty to behold. Whether you're out for a casual dinner or celebrating a special occasion, Maximón offers a versatile and inviting space that sets the perfect tone. I visited on a weekday afternoon, which turned out to be the perfect time to truly soak in the atmosphere. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet, allowing me to fully appreciate the decor and enjoy a relaxed, unhurried meal. To start, I ordered the Guacamole and Chips. This wasn’t your average guacamole—Maximón adds a creative twist with unexpected ingredients like feta cheese, giving it a tangy richness that played beautifully against the freshness of the avocado and the crunch of the chips. A delightful start that definitely stood out. For the main course, I couldn’t resist trying both the Carne Asada and Grilled Shrimp tacos. Each taco was packed with flavor, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into balancing every element. The Carne Asada was tender and smoky, while the shrimp had just the right touch of char and spice. Every bite was a harmonious mix of textures and bold, vibrant flavors. I highly recommend Maximón to anyone looking for a unique dining experience that goes beyond the typical. I’m already planning a return visit—this time for their weekend brunch, which I’ve heard is just as exceptional.

Beautiful ambiance on the water. Food was generally good. Guacamole had plenty of lime and the chips were the perfect thickness and crispy. Tacos were good, but don’t compare to west coast tacos. Churros were okay. Drinks were excellent. Service was fair, did need to flag down servers for water a couple times.

What a beautiful restaurant! The atmosphere is stunning with lots of greenery, super comfy chairs, and awesome views of the harbor. The ceviche was incredible - I could’ve ordered 3 more! The yucca fries were delicious. I tried 4 of the tacos - the asparagus one was great in texture, but lacked some flavor. The mushroom one was delicious in flavor, but a bit chewy in texture. The fish taco was awesome & the shrimp taco had a nice, balanced flavor and texture - prob my favorite. There were many other dishes I wanted to try, especially the sides. The menu is pretty unique, so I would recommend this place to adventurous eaters. The outdoor bar is vast and overlooks the water. I’m sure in summer, it’s a stellar spot to hang out. Overall, this is a great date night spot or for a night out with friends!

It was my first time eating here for my birthday yesterday and I’m so incredibly happy I went. The atmosphere was beautiful, the food was excellent, and the service by David was exceptional. I highly recommend for a special occasion, or even casual drinks by the bar. The views of the harbor are so beautiful from the bar. Thank you for making my day so special David!
