Google
5 Stars - Outstanding Service by Rosanna! I had an incredible dining experience at Max's, thanks to the exceptional service from Rosanna. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and genuine hospitality that made us feel immediately welcome. Throughout our meal, Rosanna was attentive without being intrusive—she anticipated our needs, offered great recommendations, and ensured everything was perfect.

Delicious food and friendly staff. Ordered Chop Suey and Lechon Kawali Sigig and it was SO delicious. Also, great portion sizes. We'll have plenty of leftovers to take home. We'll be back again for sure!

Google
It's my first time eating here at Max & the food was delicious. The atmosphere pretty great. The service, however wasn't good. The greeter took soo long to come and seat us, she was busy doing other tasks. The server never came to see if we needed more water or anything else. I guess, because we came on Father's Day weekend. He ordered the Father's Day Weekend Bundle, sinigang, garlic fried rice & regular rice. Will definitely recommend to friends & family & will definitely be coming back to eat.

Food was so good: nothing beats Max’s Fried Chicken freshly made with steaming hot rice. The pancit canton was so good too. Being here on Fathers Day weekend reminded me of being back home with my dad. Great choice of resto for the occasion!

Google
First time here and definitely will return. The chicken is very crispy and delicious, I will also be trying different dishes. Check them out

I've wanted to come here for quite a while because I've never had Filipino food before and wanted to give it a try. The main problem is they don't have enough people working at the restaurant; we stood at the front area waiting for someone to seat us for five minutes. We were about to leave when someone finally came out from the back (after I ran the bell, which felt very weird). We ordered right away, and the food came out in a reasonable time. The chicken was definitely crispy and cooked perfectly (delicious skin!). It was tasty, but very plain as it had no added flavour. We tried the banana ketchup + Worcestershire sauce + hot sauce mix. It wasn't a great flavour because the banana ketchup is so overpowering. It's a good-sized chicken, but 12 french fries, some of them half-sized? Really? Potatoes are cheap, and for $21 you'd think you'd get more. We finished up and waited to pay, but no one ever came back. I had to go find someone and was the same overworked lady who seated us. They don't have tap to pay either, which is surprising in the year 2024. Overall, it wasn't a great experience, and we won't be back again.

Google
Late Dec2024 Iconic Filipino familystyle chicken restaurant that has its roots in the Philippines. We had a takeout order for 3 whole chickens and two oders of camote or sweet potato fries as we wanted to introduce this famous pinoy brand to some friends. Unfortunatelty, it drew mixed reviews. And the reasons are probably the following... The chicken even though we didnt have them cut it up was dry and overcooked. We'd know as we come from the Philippines and we are able to compare. The fries were similarly unevenly and overcooked. Some pieces were burnt, and they came out mostly soggy. Even recooking them in an airfrier was a challenge since the piece were unevenly cooked. Ketchup wasnt Jufran brand and tasted off. In terms of service, the front counter was helpful and though our order took a while it was reasonalble. The kitchen service staff was the main issue which is worrying as this is the main need for improvement. The place was set up in a rustic family style dining layout. Clean and seemed comfortable enough. Difficult to recommend the place given our first experience here.

Google
Max’s Restaurant never disappoints! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. You can tell they use quality ingredients and care about their craft. Whether you’re dining in with family or picking up takeout, Max’s is a reliable favorite. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Everything we ordered was delicious. Party of 14 and seated within 5 minutes. We ordered bicol express, pinakbet, sisig, crispy pata, lechon, sinigang, sweet potatoes fries, garlic rice and chicken. We were told the chicken wasn't ready after everything else was set. I did notice catering size and take out orders being picked up. Although they were busy, our server was attentive to us. We didn't have ask for a refill and she didn't add the fries or drinks to our bill because we had to wait for the chicken which took less than 10 minutes. Everyone in our party enjoyed their food. The bicol express was my absolute favorite. Although Paraiso in Lakewood has some of the best Filipino food I've had, I would still order from Maxx the next time we're in the area. I'm glad we ended up going to Maxx instead of Seafood City.

Yelp
Ambiance. Very open, lots of seating especially for large parties. Eating alone would look awkward. Modern and clean lines. Service. Friendly and accommodating. Products. Always does not compare to homemade, but better than decent for restaurant quality. The Lechon (pork belly) was my favorite, but need a lot more sauce. Of note. Lot parking and loos clean and stocked. Overall. Good place to take a newbie. Would rather do takeout.

Yelp
Ambiance: the decor and the music takes you back to the Philippines. There was only one group having lunch when we came in on a Saturday morning at 11:30. Service Quality: there were no waitstaff around when you need them. Everyone is at the kitchen, I guess? We have to wait to ask for water which they forgot to give us, and wait to get our check. Food Quality: only their signature Max's fried chicken and crispy pata was good. The rest of the food is mediocre like the chop suey, bulalo, and kare kare. And pls do NOT order their sisig, it's the worst sisig I've ever had. And they discontinued their chicharon bulaklak :( Sadly, I'm not coming back. We drove from Portland to Seattle just to eat here and we're all disappointed.

Yelp
We decided to come here for a lunch with the fam and it was pretty good! We really enjoyed the pork sisig, lumpia and the kare-Kare. The service was AMAZING!

Yelp
Service is nice and restaurant clean. Food is good, garlic rice $12 large good deal. Small garlic rice for $7. Sago gulaman $6, many toppings. Lovely, average price compared to other places. Lechon kawali sisig delicious, they don't have an egg tho.... That kinda sucks. The lechon was super crunchy, some parts of the meat were juicy and hints of the crispy fat was amazing. We're on the hunt for the mayo style sisig, but this one is still good. We'd love to come back and try the chicken. Saw other customers get it and it looked very tempting. Quiet during a Sunday night dinner before 7pm. We had plenty of sisig and rice to take home so we had it for breakfast and added some mayo and egg. So good!
google avatar

Yen D.

Yelp
Food came out quickly. The fried chicken has unseasoned skin but it is crispy. The meat itself was a bit too dry. Sinigag with pork was good. Garlic rice used the pre chopped garlic from a jar so the garlic scent wasn't as strong as I would like. Halo halo had pieces of jelly and flan, Rice Krispies and a piece of flan. I'm more into the batter of the chicken skin so this isn't quite my taste.

Yelp
wow the max's here in seattle has so much better food than in daly city ca! the service is awesome! the ambiance is pretty big to accomodate such a large group and regular walk ins i especially loved their sago at gulaman, the crispy fried chicken and that they had american ketchup even though there were empty dishes on the table a bit near where we sat, the one employee here is doing great in helping what would have been 4 tables and the food came out fast!

Yelp
Ate there on 12/28, party of 5. Food was good BUT service was terrible. Had to beg to be served water. One of the dishes we ordered as part of the special meal deal was not served. We didn't notice until we left. They need to staff up! Despite the food being good, I wouldn't go back. Service is everything especially with the increase in costs of dining out.

Yelp
Got here around 12pm on a Sunday and plenty of seats available. It's spacious and not cramped. Started to get more busy an hour later. Service is great and server is friendly. Got the lechon kawali sisig, kare-kare, and garlic rice. The portions seem a bit small for the price, but overall really tasty and hits the spot. Would definitely go back again when I crave them filipino food.

Yelp
This was our first time eating Filipino food. We didn't really have a clue on what to order, it would have been cool to have pics or descriptions of the food. We basically just picked something off the menu not knowing what we were getting. The server asked if it was our first time and we said yes but he didn't offer any help or suggestions (for next time) until after we finished our meal. The food that came out was pretty good but we felt they were small portions for the price. The entree didn't come with any rice or sides which we thought was odd but again we have never had filipino food so maybe that is the norm? The restaurant was clean but very cold. The interior reminded me of a cafeteria. Bathroom was unclean and gross. Easy parking.
google avatar

Tabitha G.

Yelp
Ordered crispy pata to go and it was small. I should have taken a photo. Next time will do.
google avatar

Abigail C.

Yelp
I keep trying this place hoping it's gonna get better but it doesn't, the food is bland. The veggies in the kare kare is always undercooked and the lechon kawali order that I got was straight up fat. The service is also kind of shoddy, but it's because they are too busy for the amount of workers that they have. Also had to hunt down a different waitress because we weren't able to get the attention of our original waitress for a while. The staff aren't able to keep up and that is not their fault. If you go on a slower day, you get better service.
google avatar

Yelp
Pass, I hate to say it because every other Max's I've been to has been at least decent. I gave this place another chance. Placed a to go order online. Upon arrival there were 2 tables occupied and no staff to be seen for over 15 mins. My husband ended up going towards the kitchen to finally find the one single person working. Food was not fresh or hot. Taste and quality was 2/5 at best and I'm being generous. After the first bite, we didn't eat the food. If you place an online order beware that they tack on 30% in fees.

Yelp
Menu Yummy filipino dishes. Definitely the house that fried chicken built. We ordered pancit and sisig. Masarap.

Yelp
Was really excited to try this place as the menu pictures looked really good. However, I was disappointed in some respects with the reality. Staff was super friendly and the area was spacious and clean. The food came out all at once. So no separate courses. Overall, the food came out lukewarm. Bordering on cool. The Bulolo was tasty. Meat was tender and soup flavorful. It was the best dish but should have been hot. The lumpia was little bite size lumpia and was perfect temp. The fried chicken was juicy and also perfect temp. The pork Adobo was super disappointing. The meat was super tough. The flavor was there but the meat was so tough you could barely bite through it. Very disappointed. The price is pretty high for portion size too.

Michele S.

Yelp
Food is always good but the whole fried chicken looks like it got smaller. We ordered a whole fried chicken , Laing, and lechon sisig . For this alone we spent $63.34 . We don't mind the price but the portions are getting smaller.

Yelp
Max's is a huge establishment in the Philippines, so I ask my MIL visiting from the Philippines where she wants to go, I said we have a Max's and she lit up like we were going to a upper level restaurant. In fact I asked her if all the franchises that are here, Max's Jollibee, and Chowking who had the better chicken. She said Max's by far. So we arrive get seated and asked about the family set, which is sort of a pre fixe meal. 3 entrees, chicken, rice and soup. We also ordered a side of Calamari. Food arrives and it is just awful. The lechon kawali was cooked so long it was tougher than jerky. The chicken I believe was a quail or a pigeon not sure or it was the smallest chicken on the planet. The Kare Kare no flavor, the egg drop soup still had dehydrated peas that had not softened. And the pancit was mush. But worse was the calamari, it was so over seasoned that it couldn't be eaten. So needless to say when your tab is $148 not including tip and you are that disenchanted with the quality of the food it is an absolute disappointment. My favorite part of the food was my MIL said the food was terrible and suggested we try at a real Max's in the Philippines. I will add that the bathroom had not been clean, no towels, toilet paper on the ground and what ever was on the floor stuck to your feet so I was sticking to the floor as I walked back into the dining room. For context, the food has never been a hit for us. For the cost, I would expect more. You'll find there are a few other choices in the area for Pinoy food. Their statement or phrase is "Sarap to the bone". After my last few visits that is not evenly remotely close to what our experience was.

Yelp
We came in at 7:15 tonight on a whim. I was really excited! I was drawn to three things before even seeing the menu-the cleanliness of their restaurant (SPOTLESS.), their tasteful modern chicken art (which I love) and their story (on the back of the menu. The restaurant's history is really cool!). We ordered the lumpia, Kare-Kare, and the Pancit Palabok. We were going to go with the veggie lumpia, but the waiter said that they only had pork. We went for it anyway. The pork lumpia was perfect-it was savory, chewy and tasty. It came with a red sauce (we think it was the banana paste, but it tasted a little different). It came with a pickled orange which we really enjoyed. The pancit palabok was wonderful as well. While I wasn't the biggest fan of the balance of the flavor of the sauce, I liked everything in it. The lemon juice really made this dish shine. I have never had a pancit before though-next time I am going to explore what sauces to pair it with, and what ones I like. The quality of the food was outstanding, even if this wasn't necessarily for me. The Kare-Kare was great. It was a little sweeter than I anticipated, but the flavors were solid. I would have had this with rice (which we didn't order). The service was great. We were walk-ins with less than an hour to close, and everyone was friendly and we felt welcome even if we were some of the only people there. I would come back! There are some things that I wanted to try that we didn't get to.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at Max's!! Such a welcoming environment, very clean and great ambiance! We were with a large group for a Christmas party, yet we still had the attentive service of the employees! I have to say, I have never met a friendlier group of workers, they were more like family! The smiles on their faces and the friendly manner in which they served made me feel right at home! Great way to preface the delicious food!! OH MY!!! It's hard to find such authentic cuisine and I was soooo impressed! This is a must place to visit, you definitely will not be disappointed!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Really tasty Filipino food, fun ambiance as the night we were there, they had live music, such an awesome surprise! Of course all of the servers are sweet but also efficient. Family style ordering so perfect for large groups, you might have to double up on portions as dishes feed about 3-4 people. And yes...they have Halo Halo!

Armando C.

Yelp
Are you serious? Honestly that's just disrespectful. We always came here and loved to dine in and eat some filipino food. But we ordered a full chicken with fries and when I come home to eat, I lift the full chicken to see this many fries! They purposely hid the fries under the chicken to make it look full and this is such a tiny amount of French fries. Even McDonald's Small would have more than this! And on top of this all, this order was expensive! And we always tipped them a lot to show thanks but this isn't what i expected from them

Yelp
APIHM #3: Being Filipino, I rarely (if ever) buy Filipino food out because I can always get it made at home. Surprisingly, it was my first time at Max's this past week and it was so yummy! We got their garlic rice, adobo fried rice, sinigang, fresh lumpiang ubod, crispy pata, sisig, and palabok. All were so flavorful and authentic! The service was great. Very friendly staff who got our dishes out quick!
google avatar

Ren S.

Yelp
Food is good, Half chicken was dry, l had better. It's avg. as far as Filipino food.
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely going back! Best fried chicken everrrr!!! I loved all the Filipino food. And I'm picky. I like my mom's home cooking and even my mom was impressed! Next time I visit, I'm there!

Yelp
Yesterday my Filipino boyfriend took me to Max's Restaurant since we were in the area. And the food was so delicious. I've already had pancit canton and palabok before since my ex husband is Filipino I've already had Filipino dishes. However the whole chicken was amazing! The time we went was early afternoon so we were pretty much alone in the restaurant which was fine because it was peaceful and the music was cover songs that sounded great too. The waitress was always ready to assist I'm not sure if that's just because we were the only ones there or if that's how friendly the service always is. But she made sure we were good. We ordered the whole chicken, rice and palabok. And we finished it off with sharing a Halo Halo. I didn't get to take a pic of the food before we started eating so you can't see the artistic way the dish was prepared and I was so ready for the Halo Halo dessert that I forgot to take that pic too but it was very delicious. I would say it is a bit pricey but not too crazy. Our total ending up being a little over $70 but now a days that's what u can get at some fast food restaurants. So if you want some authentic Filipino food this is one of places I would recommend! Salamat!

Yelp
I'm from the Bay Area and have been to Max's there. I was visiting my family in the Seattle area and wanted them to try out Max's. Unfortunately they didn't get that chance. They are severely understaffed. There was no one at the entrance. It took 10 minutes before any of the staff acknowledged us and seated us. And we waited another 20 minutes for someone to come and take our order, bring us drinks. We gave up and left The restaurant wasn't even at 25% capacity.

L. V.

Yelp
Currently sitting in the restaurant. Probably some of the worst service I've received in a long time. The staff was friendly and food was good but the service is painfully slow and not efficient. We were seated before some parties and had to flag someone down to take our order. People who came after us got their food before us. As people are lined up at the door, some of the staff were seen just chatting amongst themselves. There seems to be no urgency whatsoever to get people served and out the door. Very frustrating, will not be returning.
google avatar

Vincent V.

Yelp
10/10 restaurant! Customer service was top tier and super nice! Food was delicious and fresh. Restaurant was clean and felt like back home! Definitely will be coming back!

Romi V.

Yelp
Service sucks. Order online placed and received by Maxs @ 1:32 pm . I did not received confirmation till 2:10 for pick up time.

Yelp
He place is called max's Filipino food, and hat is Filipino food? The philippines are thousands of islands such surrounded by water, were the languages is being broken down into literal over 600 hundred different variations. So with said I'm wide open to the unexpected the food take some time it's cooked to order and during my visit the dinning room staff not only served you but seated clean the tables and cash you out. Portions are I think for four people not two, and prices are in the mid 20's on average. The seafood rice noodles were disappointing since the photo look bigger than actual , I know the photos are bigger than excepted. But the rest of the meal true to the pictures back to rice noodles it was okay not terrible flavorful but just okay, I don't know what I excepted the noodles to be but maybe firm and more shrimp and chicken. Next sinigang seafood tangy soup aren't my thing but I try it , hot but tangy with veggies and fish, put some in a bowl and hit it with some rice and spices much better. And last crispy pata, this definitely finger food very crunch, spice well , they did have some dipping sauce to go with this, very tasty. All in all it was as okay for a meal , I don't if this is true to the homeland, but it was fun trying new things

Lily A.

Yelp
Love all the food. Great service and lovely ambience. We tried laing, bangus daing, kare kare, and the famous crispy sarap to the bones fried chicken. Very delicious, makes me feel home. I highly recommends to those who loves delicious, reasonable, authentic Filipino cuisines.
google avatar

Blessie P.

Yelp
It was my first time going here, and my friends and I tried the crispy pata, bangus sisig, and kare-kare (not pictured). We also got rice, of course. Everything was delicious! The bangus wasn't served sizzling and nor did it come with an egg (if I remember correctly), but it was sooo good. There were three of us, and the food we got was more than enough (we even had to take leftovers home). We arrived around 2 PM on a Saturday, and it was pretty busy but the wait was not too long (about 10 minutes). Service was good. Ah, also, they had hand sanitizers on each table, which I appreciated. Would love to come back and try other dishes, so maybe when I visit WA again :)
google avatar

Christine S.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! The food is authentic and there is a good selection of classic Filipino dishes. We always love coming here!
google avatar

Marthin M.

Yelp
The service was fast and friendly and being Filipino I always feel the comfort around them. The food was decent with some outweighing the others in terms of taste. The fried chicken, garlic rice, calamari, and soup was good but the sisig was really oily and it wasn't really sizzling when it came out which is supposed to be the purpose. It wasn't crowded so the setting was pretty spacious and nice.
google avatar

Kat C.

Yelp
They take forever to give you a refund for an unavailable item. Their answering machine system is a complete joke.
google avatar

Laurie L.

Yelp
Make sure you have time as they cook their food fresh. Large dining room. Friendly staff. Can recommend kare kare, pancit bihon, sisig, fried garlic rice, but not the lumpia.
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
Food is tasty my only complain is the Bicol express looked like a free sample for a full size order.
google avatar

Anne Marie A.

Yelp
Came in with a large party yesterday and they were able to accommodate us, the only thing is that it was one of the hottest days in Seattle and they didn't have any AC or fans! Aside from that, the staff was amazing. They made sure our drinks were refilled and that we always had a fresh pitcher of ice water on each table. My family ended up ordering 3 sets of the family packs which consists of rice, Kare-kare, lechon sisig, fried chicken, and other dishes. It was a lot of food and they had it out in about an hour. I don't eat meat so I was glad to see that they had tofu sisig on their menu! For the desserts, we ordered 3 big family sized halo-halos which made me question, is it really worth the $35 each? The answer is yes! If your in a big group, it made about 5-6 cups while the single serving is already $8. We also ordered mango juice and sago gulaman as well to deal with the heat. I'm glad that there is a Max's restaurant near me when I'm craving their caramel bars.
google avatar

Dustin V.

Yelp
Bicol Express - this was very disappointing, just some coconut milk tossed with pork belly. Not spicy, poorly presented and unpleasant. If you've ever been to Bicol in the Philippines and you go to Max's in Tukwila, you'll be very disappointed. The ham hock was very bare too. Someone should check quality control of their protein and flavors of dishes.
google avatar

MelissaAnne B.

Yelp
I would like to petition for one near Oregon PLEASE! Haha. Honestly a good "go to" place when you miss home. I favor the crispy pata the most- just the most delicious fatty crunchy part that makes my heart happy. Bulalo: you always have to have some type of soup with your meal to wash down the rice and delicious meats you order. I usually like to order this with extra veggies. It's a simple bone broth soup with beef shank and mixture of veggies. Sari sari: I like to get this when I'm craving for pumpkin and a more fish based soup (depending on the protein you get as well). Lechon Kawali SigSig: the right amount of salty and vinegar on a sizzling platter.

Zafina A.

Yelp
The ambiance was very nice and it was a big space that could hold a lot of people. It did take some time to get our server to refill our water and bring us to go boxes and the bill. She was very friendly. While the chicken sisig tasted good and was flavorful the fried chicken did lack in any flavor. The side of garlic rices was really expensive.
google avatar

Jereme B.

Yelp
Food was good priced way to high for what you get just seems to be another Filipino chain restaurant (that's right I'm looking at you jollibee) that's taking advantage of amazing simple food priced way too high. It's not bad but it's not anything special. Please support smaller mom and Pop Filipino restaurants better food better price and better atmosphere.

Yelp
You can get a half fried chicken to go here. Just plain chicken, crispy skin, no Filipino seasoning. Rather dry meat, not cut up into pieces.

Yelp
Are you looking to try an authentic Filipino cuisine? You must try this place! The best Filipino cuisine in Washington State so far! Must try the crispy pata and their signature Max's fried chicken. Great customer service, thank you Rosanna! They also have a private dining room you can reserve for special occasions. Fantastic experience overall!!! Definitely will come back!

Yelp
Authentic Filipino flavors! We ordered fresh lumpia, pinakbet, chicken, laing and fries. My favorite was the laing and chicken. The chicken is whole cut in half and omg its perfect! If you like Filipino food you gotta try this place!

Yelp
9/25/2021 Very disappointed and didn't have a chance to try their food and left restaurant with empty stomach. Called ahead and asked if they have a table for two around 11:30am. The server said we can walk-in. I had my lash appointment at 12:30pm, so we called ahead to made sure to have enough time for lunch. We sat at table and waited for 15minute to get server's attention. Water finally arrived and server took our order. We waited for about 30 minute but nothing came out from the kitchen. They were totally under staffed. They should have told us kitchen is busy and we have to wait for 30-40min for food.

Yelp
My sales team & I was looking for something to grab for lunch in the area. I've been wanting to try more Filipino restaurants so I suggested Max's Restaurant. We ordered lumpiang Shanghai, chicken adobo, lechon kawali sisig, & pancit palabok. You can't go to a Filipino restaurant without getting lumpia so of course we had to get it. Unfortunately, it was one of the worse lumpia's we ever had which was really disappointing. Tasted like it was grabbed from a grocery store out of the frozen section. The chicken adobo which is another Filipino staple, was also really bad. If I was missing my mom's cooking, this is not the place to go. The pancit palabok wasn't any better either. Honestly the only thing that was good was the lechon kawali sisig which is pork belly on a sizzling pot. This was the only thing that was good which actually had good flavor. Out of everything we got, this is the only thing that I could recommend. With 1 out of the 4 things that we got being good, I definitely could not recommend this place & the service was not the best either.
