"In addition to corned beef sandwiches, fried chicken, and knishes, this kosher deli in Wheaton sells some of the D.C. area’s best Israeli-style falafel and shawarma. Max’s has a new online portal for pickup orders, and latkes are on the menu for walk-ins. It’s open from noon to 7:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday." - Gabe Hiatt

"The place for pita perfection is Max’s Kosher Cafe on University Boulevard. The highlight at this kosher deli is the shawarma and falafel cart run by native Israeli Momi Houmran. Meat and chickpea balls come in pitas packed with toppings like pickled cabbage and onions. The counter serves brisket and pastrami sandwiches, as well as an inventive pastrami burger." - Tim Ebner

Rather yummy falafel and schwarma pitas. You can add a whole assortment of toppings and sauces: lettuce, cabbage, red cabbage, pickles, cucumbers, sauerkraut, pickled cauliflower, hummus, jalepeno sauce, spicy sauce, tzatziki, and more. The fried chicken isn't that good and you can substitute the fries with: sweet potato fries, mashed potatoes, grilled veggies, salad

Great place for shawarma and falafel. I drove from Annapolis all the way to Silver Spring just to try the food and the drive was well worth it. I had the 1/2 shawarma 1/2 falafel combo ($13) and they were so stuffed with great ingredients I honestly couldn't finish the last few bites of the shawarma. I'll be making this drive again in the near future.

We went in for carry out and got the falafel and shawarma plates. We ordered a potato knish that was never given. Easy mix up because of the way that the normal food is at one counter and plates at another. Excellent product.

Update well this was a great place to eat however they have been going down hill. On July 7 2022 The wife and I ordered 2 Burgers to be well done. Hers was cooked just right however mine was rare is not raw. Take a look at the pictures. I called and the lady said over the phone it was the way I ordered it. I told her I ordered it well done and the receipt show well done. She then said there was nothing she could do. Was a Great place to get a hamburger

Great food if you're looking for a nice quick bite. I got the shawarma & fries and everything was very fresh & hot. My only complaint is the place looks alittle run down and the prices are a tad steep for what you're getting.

This falafel is amazing. The best flavors all in your mouth at once. this is the best falafel you can ever have. If you have nothing else to do today because you're bored. Or you just broke up with your ex who was a total pos and need to cry over food. Go eat this falafel.

Really tasty food and a good experience. Came to try 'real American food' and felt as if I had visited a diner from the movies.
