"Sommelier Tim Willard is a well-known figure on the Atlanta wine scene who is now offering his expertise via Dive Wine, a pop-up he founded in 2023 hosted at Atlanta restaurants like Bread and Butterfly, La Semilla, and Poor Hendrix. Expect hard-to-find and rare bottles, dusty back vintages, deep discounted wines, and by the glass options at Dive paired with snacks from the host restaurant. It’s not unusual to find other Atlanta wine industry folks sipping and snacking at this pop-up or sommeliers from around town serving or offering tastings. Willard is considering opening a permanent location of Dive Wine in the future. Follow on Instagram for updates." - Beth McKibben

Where do I begin? I heard some good things about the restaurant and was glad I was finally able to try it. It was WELL worth the wait. The food - the fried chicken, with apologies to my grandmother, was some of THE BEST fried chicken I've ever had. EVER. It was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The collard greens were just as great too. I was loving the jalapeno cornbread, it was moist and tasted just like cake - the way I like it. The drinks - the wines were good. Very good selection and taste. Love the selection they had you can purchase - lots of unique bottles I'm looking forward to trying. The service - top notch. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable. The highlight for me was dropping a knife; I bent down to pick it up and not 2 seconds later, my server was there with a plate of new knives ready to replace the dropped one! That sealed the 5 star review for me! I think this will become my new favorite restaurant. Can't wait to be back!

The waiter asked me what I thought about the fried chicken we ordered (our group of friends have been testing the city's best chicken) from a scale of 1-10... I gave it a solid 7. Good crunch to the crust, well seasoned, and fried. However, the chicken meat wasn't of the best quality. The collard greens were great.

I had the most amazing meal at MAX's Wine Dive! I'd been waiting for the restaurant to open and I went on opening night! Awesome experience from start to finish! Great staff and even better food! The menu is comprised of MAX's Wine Dive Classics - food that can be found at all of their locations - and Chef Jason Hall's seasonal selections featuring locally sourced items. I started with Chef Jason's PigCorn - caramel corn, cayenne, Georgia peanuts and bacon. How was it, you ask? A delicious balance of sweet, salty and spice! It kinda tasted like Cracker Jack, but grown up and with bacon! MAX's Wine Dive is a great addition to Midtown and my first visit will NOT be my last! For my entrée, I went with MAX's Famous Southern Fried Chicken. It's jalapeño-buttermilk marinated chicken served with mashed potatoes, collard greens and Texas toast. Seriously, this was some of the best fried chicken that I've ever had! I love that MAX's fried chicken isn't rushed...it takes about 20 minutes n but the wait is totally worth it! If you're in Midtown or thinking about going to Midtown, I urge you to treat yourself to the deliciousness at MAX's Wine Dive! Oh and they serve brunch on Fridays, Saturdays AND Sundays!

Food is hit or miss. Some wine is very overpriced. I googled a bottle I purchased for $60, only to find it retails for $8. 3-4x is acceptable, but not charging 8x as much. Their wine "on tap" is a good value. Best part about the place, is it is seldom crowded, so the service is very good. Overall, definitely worth checking out.

Family dining food at fine dining prices. Wine list is ok, but has almost nothing in the way of affordable wines you'd expect at a "dive". Food is no better than Ruby Tuesday/Chili's quality, but prices are as high as anything nearby. $12 Sliders were dry and overcooked, collards would have been good if they hadn't been desert sweet. Arugula salad was fine. Cracklin chicken was nothing special. Stuffed peppers ap was the only thing that was better than average. But it was $13.50. There's too many decent places to eat nearby to waste your time and money on this.

Let me start off by saying that this place is simply ahh-mazing!!! I went all in and got the Famous Southern Fried Chicken. It's been a week since I went there and I'm still thinking about it! It far surpassed my expectations. The chicken, the greens, the mashed potatoes, the texas toast and honey were just ahh-mazing!!! I didn't think a restaurant could produce soul food as great as this but I was soon corrected. Great wait staff, location and complimentary valet parking just topped it off. I can't wait to go again!

I had an interesting second experience at Max's Wine Dive. The first time I went for brunch was absolutely amazing. The second time, I purchased a scoutmob brunch deal and went for Brunch on Sunday, Father's Day. We immediately told our server we had a scoutmob. She said we would not be able to order the mimosa or bellinis since it was not 12:30 pm (atlanta doesnt serve liquor before 12:30 on Sundays) which was not a problem. The server gave us water and another waiter (bailey) came out and took our drink/food orders and helped us for the rest of our time. The food was great. The Fried Green Tomato Benedict and the French Toast were absolutely fantastic. When we were finished with our meals, we realized it was still not 12:30 and we were finished with brunch, so we mentioned to the waiter that we didnt care to order/receive the drinks that came with our scoutmob. Before I could finish my sentence, the waiter (bailey) interrupted me and told me that the server who sat us "already told us we could not redeem the scoutmob today because it is not honored on Father's Day". I insisted that she definitely did not tell us and he very rudely explained that he knew she did tell us and that it would not be honored. He kept interrupting me and basically accused of us lying about the situation. He said he could involve the GM to get the voucher honored- I asked him to call the server to our table to confirm that she had told us it would not be honored since he insisted she did. Instead, the general manager came and apologized. The GM was very professional and polite and very helpful and confirmed that she spoke to the hostess who insisted she HAD NOT told us the deal would not be valid. The GM profusely apologized, stated that the Scoutmob is not honored on Father's Day, and actually comp'd our meals and asked us to come back another time to use the deal and have a better experience. She definitely saved the situation. I do want to note that the Scoutmob only states it is not valid on Mother's Day and makes no mention of Father's Day, so the Scoutmob actually should have been honored.

Great addition to the Cresent Street strip. Amazing wine selections and food is very tasty. They also have a wine shop within the restaurant to purchase wine. I also love the wine inspire t-shirts the staff wears..
