MAY KITCHENWARE

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING PLACE – A TRUE GEM! The design of this café is simply breathtaking – every corner looks like it’s been created with incredible taste and attention to detail. The shop itself is gorgeous, perfectly curated, and every single item on display catches your eye. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the croissant completely blew my mind – one of the best I’ve ever had. And the salted coffee was easily one of the best I’ve tried in all of Vietnam. The service was excellent – fast, friendly, and attentive. We were genuinely impressed and will definitely be coming back.

The shop has an open space inside, a beautiful courtyard and skylight. Every detail is carefully taken care of by the owner. But most of the customers come to take pictures, which is not a bad thing, but there are customers who come with a small group but keep a large table and leave things spread on the table to keep a place. The shop should have a solution to improve this. After ordering drinks, you have to wait quite a long time even though there are not many customers to wait like that.

Sure, the place has a stunning interior and you really get to admire the pottery work. Craftsmanship is absolutely fantastic, though the cafe service is seriously subpar. Drinks took WAY too long, it was a 30 minute wait for 2 drinks. HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE??? Such appalling wait-times for cafes in Hanoi, which is something rather surprising. The drinks were good, but it did not justify the 30 minute wait. If you’re a tourist, I’d advise you not to come for the drinks since there are so many models that want to take pictures around the cafe, so there were times they’d want to take pictures at where you’re seated which may be annoying for some. Definitely other better cafe spots to hop around in Hà Nội if you’re here on holiday. Save your time for elsewhere.

Spacious and airy cafe with an emphasis on instagrammability. Photo taking is big business in Hanoi, with nearly every street selling photo sets. This seems to entail a makeup artist and a set list of locations, and sometimes different costumes. MAY KITCHENWARE seems to be one of the featured destinations.

I liked the salt coffee, the place was also very beautiful. Giving a 4 star review because the order did take quite long which is a bit unusual compared to other places in Hanoi. They were also out of coconut coffee sadly. The place was quite full which might be the reason why. In any case, I still highly recommend the place!

Great range of ceramics you don't see anywhere else, I've been twice...what's with the models taking pics all over the place. I broke protocol and didn't wear a dress and I bought something. 🙃

📍 ᴍᴀʏ ᴋɪᴛᴄʜᴇɴᴡᴀʀᴇ - A little late to the party when May Kitchenware recently opened a new branch and every Hanoian cafe hopper is extensively posting about that one. I still have yet to upload their branch that went viral last year, haha. This happens when I don't post in real time. Built inside an old French villa just southeast of West Lake, it’s half artisan ceramics boutique, half cozy café, and somehow manages to be both without losing an ounce of style. You walk into a space filled with tasteful, restaurant-worthy ceramic dishes, plates, bowls, teapots, and two actual trees growing through the floor. Yes, trees. It’s giving zen garden meets vintage collector’s dream. I even thought "Hmmm maybe I should purchase tableware here when I have my own place" The café is upstairs and feels like a breezy little escape from the city chaos. The front room is air-conditioned, but I found myself gravitating toward the semi-outdoor balcony for that soft natural light and antique charm. Every corner is styled to perfection, with mismatched chairs, quiet nooks, and enough aesthetic warmth to make you forget you’re technically here for coffee. Speaking of which, the drinks are fine, not the star of the show, but that's ok I can't expect perfect coffee everywhere I go.

Largely a gathering spot for teens flexing their photography prowess, the kitchenware is of high quality, the coffee was good, the seating area upstairs towards the front, along with a small room to the rear is conducive to a laptop and some work if you can snag a quiet time, the balcony to the front is a nice touch.
