Google
I snagged two tickets for the five courses Moroccan dinner. We sat at the bar and watched the food prepared in front of us. Lots of fun, delicious as always and good company. It makes for a pleasant evening.

Google
Be advised the $10-20 cost is for lunch/brunch. Reservation only dinner is a bit more. Mole night. Only served Cinco de Mayo and for Mexican Independence Day. Chef Raul did not disappoint with his 75 ingredient mole sauce. 5 Mole courses to include: Brussel sprouts, soup, chicken enchilada, Clemole pork, chocolate cake. Amazing variety of offerings. Spanish, Mexican, Morrocan, Italian and more. Never a bad meal and a 5 course meal for two is well under $200 with tip, wow!!!, wine included.

Very fast service with delicious food. Small menu but exceptionally well done.

Google
Take it from a local, this place is a HIDDEN GEM! For dinner they do a "surprise" five course tasting menu typically focusing on Mexican foods and flavors - aka you don't know what you're eating until you show up! For lunch and weekend brunch they serve a more traditional restaurant style Mexican inspired menu (like a plate of tacos, rice and beans - which is to die for)! We are particularly fans of the "special" nights they host every now and then - most recently was Moroccan night and it was an experience! Not only is the food always fantastic but the chefs are so fun and easy to talk too. Highly recommend checking this place out - it truly is one of our top favorites throughout the whole city! Also recommend following their Instagram page for latest information on lunch / brunch menus and upcoming specials!

Google
A unique dinning experience that I have not found in Charleston for the price. Every dish was well explained and made with love. So Good 🫡

Google
Wonderful little spot!!! The food is amazingly delicious and the staff are super friendly. I highly recommend grabbing lunch here when you have the chance! This is the first restaurant in the US I have found that had sweet tamales! I haven't found those at a restaurant since I went to Mexico many many years ago!

Google
So good every time we go it is a whole new experience. Tim & Rafael are amazing. Mole night is an all time favorite. The presentation of the food is beautiful.

Google
Fun way to eat a great meal. Eat and drink what the chefs decide to serve that night. $60 per person. I think every recipe was “my mama’s” or “my grandmother’s”. You never think to add pineapple to lentil soup. Thank goodness his grandmother did! Crazy good. Also, reservations are a must! Very limited seating each night.

Yelp
One of the finest and most authentic restaurants in all of Charleston County. Food is prepared with love and passion and consistently amazing food others every visit. Cheers to Executive Chef Raul!!

Yelp
Damn delicious! Both dishes were fantastic and crave worthy. So flavorful. The chilaquiles had a nice spice level, hard to find around here. Their red and green sauce, both spicy and yummy. Can't say enough good things about this unassuming gem. Excited to go back and try everything!

Yelp
Best Mexican Food in Charleston. I ask the chef what to get and am never disappointed!

Yelp
If you call yourself a fan of mexican and haven't been here, you better fix that. This place is a 5 star experience if I've ever seen one! My mom and I went to lunch here towards the end of their lunch hours, and everything about this place was a 10/10. Food quality stands out for sure, really unique tasty mexican food, tier above a lot of places in charleston that I also love. Service was amazing and very insightful, space inside was pretty cool as well. Pricing is really good for how high quality it is as well. Lunch is just tacos, burritos, simple quisine. Dinner is coursed, and they have insanely cool events that I will definitely be returning for.

Yelp
Impromptu visit with some guys at work. Let me tell you, this is the real deal. The service is top notch, the atmosphere is inviting and clean, and the food is incredible. I had the chicken quesadilla as an appetizer, though most would make it a meal. The cheese and chicken were so full of flavor and the perfectly grilled tortilla blew my mind. I also had the carne asada burrito. I opted to have it covered half red and half green salsa. Perfect amount of spice, the carne asada melted like butter, and the entree had an exquisite presentation. I'm really looking forward to coming back for dinner to try the chefs menu!

Yelp
A delightful intimate cuisine experience. We loved it so much we may be back tomorrow for brunch. Our party of 7 (out of 9 guests) enjoyed the 5 course meal starting a roasted beet salad complete with goat cheese and a slight sweetness of honey and brown sugar. I ate it too fast I didn't get a photo. The next course was a take of carrot bisque topped with shrimp and herbs. Next was a fresh tamal stuffed with chicken, topped with an amazing green sauce. Fourth was a beef tenderloin, asparagus, mashed potatoes and a delicious sauce. Last was a chocolate tres leches, the perfect end to the evening. Did I mention there were wine pairings?! I highly recommend Maya Del Sol for your foodie friends or if you'd like to rent the entire space for a special occasion. The intimate dining experience makes me very comfortable dining during COVID. Thank you Chef Raul!

Yelp
Don't walk RUN to eat here. We just finished with their themed Peruvian Ceviche night and it was incredible. Dining for dinner is a themed 5 course meal eaten not quite family style. Everyone is served the same thing for each course. Tonight's dinner was one of their themed dinners, otherwise, dinner (served Thu - Sat at 6 pm or 8 pm) is typically Mexican/Latin. They will do themed dinners several times a month. You sit at a long table with everyone and as each course is served, it is described to you; wine is also served with each course. Price fixe meal. Can't wait to try their next one!

Yelp
I am so glad I ate here. I'll definitely be going back. It doesn't look like much from the outside. Seating is mostly at the bar where you can interact with the chef who is very welcoming and seems excited about his food. I had 2 tacos (Al pastor and chicken) with rice and beans. These are traditional Mexican tacos both on homemade corn tortillas, perfectly marinated meats with onions, cilantro and salsa verde if you choose. The rice was plain (in a good way) but perfectly textured to go with all of your food. I've honestly never had beans quite like these. They were cooked with several meats with a hint of a kick. I would have had anything off the menu after seeing several other dishes walked by. Pricing was moderate. Definitely not too bad for lunch.

Yelp
Charleston's hidden gem! We tried the seafood night 5 course menu and thought each dish was spectacular. So much flavor! The pictures don't do the food justice. Raul and Tim were lovely hosts. The ambiance was cozy and relaxed. Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
Best brunch!! Can't wait to go back!! Chilaquiles where so delicious and the service was amazing, very friendly!

Yelp
We went for lunch and to pick up a fried Turkey. The lunch was great. I had the burrito with chorizo and potatoes. My wife and sister had the tamale. Around 15$ each. Very small menu which was nice. Met Raul, the owner, and he was super charming and his food was delicious. The owner was allowing Destiny Kitchen to use the facility to fry Turkeys for charity. That is how we discovered this jewel and can't wait to come back for their dinner service. Sounds like a great experience.

Yelp
I haven't been here for dinner yet, but the lunch alone is fantastic. The tacos are just full of flavor -- the recent chile relleno taco was out of this world. There's never a wait; in fact we were in and out of there in less than 20 min the other Friday. Truly a hidden gem, well worth your time as a lunch spot!

Pat N.

Yelp
AMAZING Flavors. Our new favorite place! In love with the empanadas in mole, the layers of flavor in the summer salad, and Tres Leches. Raul and Tim are wonderful hosts.

Yelp
This is a MUST try dining experience! I cannot say enough good things about the food and setting. Intimate and fun all at the same time! Watch your food being prepared and interact with the wonderful Chef Raul in the process. Each night he serves up new tasty dishes. Everything we had was prepared to perfection from taste to presentation. We also enjoyed several great drink pairings that were provided with each course. I usually have a lot more to say but I think the photos say it all! Go check out this new place for dinner or even weekend brunch! I'll be be going back to check out brunch soon and am sure to report back with equally mouth watering photos!

Yelp
New restaurant alert!!! Raul has opened Maya Del Sol Kitchen in North Charleston and it is absolutely phenomenal!!! They take reservations Thursday-Saturday for 6pm and 8pm and Sunday is first come first serve for brunch from 10-3. Our dinner last night was amazing and so flavorful. Bruce and Raul were both very personable and such a pleasure to enjoy dinner with.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Best authentic Mexican food since visiting TX Another Soldier recommended this as his favorite place in Noth Charleston, SC...I couldn't agree more!!

Tim C.

Yelp
Been going here for years and never been disappointed. Has new menus everyday so get to try something new all the time. Great data night!

C. Glenn B.

Yelp
Brunch was amazing, but the best part was the ambiance and the owner's interaction! We will return and hope to catch one of the evening meals!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Raul is back! The wonderful tastes are back. The menu is not known until the night before so you never know what may be in the offering for the day, but you can be assured your meal will be worth the trip. And on Thursday Friday and Saturday nights you can sign up for their five course meal (wine included) and as well the meal is only known that evening. I'll be there next Friday. You will not be disappointed for the true, authentic flavors that come out of Raul's kitchen. And you can see him preparing your order right in front of you... to me, always a plus

Yelp
Excellent experience! Chef Tim made incredible food with hospitality. Felt like we were at a friend's house just hanging out, drinking good wine and eating good food. Very reasonably priced for a date idea too

Devender S.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic. Chilaquiles, rosemary pancakes, and ribs were all perfect for brunch. Cannot wait to go back to try again for dinner.
