Google
$16 for a huge steak burrito with added guacamole to go, and it was phenomenal. Easily one of the best burritos I’ve had in ages. Came with a little foil packet with I’m guessing pickled onion, carrot and a jalapeño, and a little cup of red and green salsa. Everything was fantastic, and I will be back again. Parking wasn’t too bad to find a spot, and there’s some tables outside for seating.

Miket Z

Google
Small restaurant with few seats indoors, but there are tables outside. The place is relatively clean. Ordered chicken burrito to go. The food is not bad, not too salty or overcooked and would prefer a little more meat. Price: average.

Google
To me, these are the best burritos and churros inside of the city of Richmond. I don't think it is close. I think they have very good fresh food. The service is great. The location is small and eating outside is best or to use this for takeout. But you will not regret the amazing food that they make.

If not the most the food I got from Maya Taqueria was one of the most delicious Mexican food I have ever eaten in my life. Also the staff were really professional and kind. I will go back for sure!

Google
People were super nice! Environment is great! Was really bummed about my carne asada tacos though. The meat had a lot of fat. Will definitely come back and give it another try!

Google
Literally a hidden gem! After a hot sauna with friends, we decided to check this place out. I wasn’t even hungry and was pretty skeptical, so my bf and I started with only 4 tacos. However after the first bite, I was completely won over by the flavor and the incredibly tender pork so I ended up ordering every flavor on the menu, and each one was just as impressive. Especially in this super duper inflated world, where else can you find $1 chips and $3 tacos? Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic, affordable, and unbelievably delicious 🌮

Google
Hey, y'all! I visited Maya's on a coworkers suggestion and I was very pleased! I ordered the Carnitas Burrito, and it was GOOD! I asked for light rice and light on the beans. The tortilla was crusty and brown. I ate it about an hour later, and the Burrito 🌯 was still in good "chomping" shape. 😄 It was not damp or mushy. I almost ordered the nachos, but did not want to be greedy. 😋 That'll be my choice on the next visit. I have passed by the establishment before, but I just did not have the time to visit. The staff (lady at the register) was nice and helpful with my questions. It's a must stop!

Google
Got the Maya Salad w/chicken & an Al Pastor Taco with cheese (see attached pictures). Delicious! I eat here all the time. Best of the 3 Mexican Food in Point Richmond.

Yelp
A taqueria with great tacos! We were in the neighborhood and we definitely were craving tacos! I was so happy when we walked up, and they had a cool little set up outside and inside. It was small but perfect! All the food coming out with fresh. We ordered tacos and two churros. The tacos we ate at the restaurant and they keep our churros warm under the warmer until we finished eating! The workers were so sweet and nice. Very kind and attentive. Our tacos came out fresh and tasted yummy! I loved every minute. It was a cute little town. We enjoyed Maya taqueria and would definitely eat here again. When we are back in town we will check it out again. Don't miss up this opportunity for some good tacos.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a long time and I am so glad I did! This place is located in Point Richmond and has mainly outdoor seating. My chorizo breakfast burrito immediately became a breakfast bowl because of all the stuffing in the burrito. Not a deal breaker! I used my chips to scoop up all the yummy goodness inside the burrito. The burrito had eggs, rice, chorizo, choice of beans, which I chose black beans, avocado and sour cream both of which were extra. No beer or wine here but they have plenty of other selections to choose from. Friendly staff here to take your order. I really enjoyed it here and plan to return.

Yelp
What a fun grab & go spot located in Richmond. We were heading to a park close-by to this Taqueria and wanted to grab a few items to lay out for a Sunday picnic. Maya Taqueria had the goods! We did to-go chips and guac, fresh watermelon fresca, chicken burrito, and a burrito (taco) bowl. Oh and salsas! Quick and super friendly service, great quality, fair pricing. There is a few tables outside to enjoy this sunshine, but def more of grab & enjoy elsewhere type of vibe if you want to head up the street to the park area and Miller/Knox Regional Shoreline. I've never had anything in a taco shell outside of a salad, so fun option to have all the fun of a burrito in a creative way. Well-seasoned meat and omg..the orange salsa is spicy, but delicious atop anything. The fresca was done within minutes, highly recommend. It may have been a weekend special, but I'm sure any of their freshly-made drinks will do the trick. This area is full of cool spots so if you're sticking around, take a walk around. You may find a few places you never even knew existed here.

Yelp
We've enjoyed Maya for years. I particularly like their salmon tacos and al pastor burrito, the carnitas burrito is also great. I haven't had a chance to try their churros but for sure will be trying next time. They have a few outdoor tables but we mainly order take out. Staff is friendly enough, it's a tacqueria so it would be hard to mess up service. We will continue to come back!

Yelp
The food, the service the ambience everything gets 20 stars for me. The s The. Waiter/server was so kind and accommodating if you want awesome food then I suggest you come here.!!!!

Bellea M.

Yelp
I have to love this place. The people are friendly, service is fast and on point, food is delicious. You can order online and the food is ready by the time you get there to pick up. I've had their chicken tortilla soup, birria tacos, pollo burrito, carne asada burrito. Everything is fresh and delicious. No photos as of this writing because we were in the middle of a renovation and well, life was all about that and not taking photos of food. Now that the project is done, I will definitely take photos of my meals again. The location is small, very clean. People inside are super nice. I often see a line of people waiting to either order or pick up. Everything moves quickly and I've never had to wait more than five minutes. Definitely on my regular rotation.

Yelp
First time here, on my foodie friend's recommendation. She suggested the salmon taco. I asked if they could make a salmon burrito, grilled like a quesadilla, and they said yes! We, 7 of us, sat outside on sidewalk tables, and all enjoyed the deliciousness! My salmon burrito was very yummy! And the staff is very nice! I look forward to coming back again soon!

Yelp
Very rude and greedy business. I made a take out order in person today and noticed that they added a 'delivery fee' to the bill. There was no delivery so what is this? That's it, not going back. In the past I have found the customer service poor and they are rude. So with this I'm done here.

Yelp
Fantastic tacos and freshly made tortilla chips. This place hits the spot for a sunny afternoon lunch. Perfectly cooked carnitas and carne asada. My friend loved her lengua tacos. I will have to try those next time. Friendly service. Outdoor seating.

Yelp
Food: Lately I've been ordering salads from Maya and they've been pretty good. They are very reasonably priced and fresh! I enjoy the flour tortilla tostada salad with chicken. Ambience: The place is a hole in the wall so don't expect to eat inside but there is outdoor seating but not much. This is more of an order and take to go kind of place. Service: They are fast and always have my order ready by the time they say. The online ordering is very convenient too. Overall this place is solid for a quick, affordable and fresh lunch

Yelp
Simple and delicious. I was introduced to this place when the kind Kelly purchased burritos for the vendors at her market. The burrito consisted of beans, rice, and cheese; that is all. Sounds pretty basic, right? Let me tell you, there was nothing basic about this burrito. There was flavor at first bite from the soft, homemade tortilla. I could taste that the pinto beans had been slow simmered to perfection and the rice was adequately seasoned. I thought if this "basic" burrito tastes this good the other items on the menu have to be fire! So, you know I returned the following week. I got the butternut squash burrito and carnitas burrito. My butternut squash burrito exceeded my expectations even without the sour cream I was told it came with. My mum loved her carnitas burrito, and said the meat was packed with flavor. A must try!

Sammy H.

Yelp
I got the pollo burrito and it was the best burrito I have ever had in my entire life. The refried beans are amazing and the chicken is so delicious. The salsa was great and I loved how they included sour cream in the burrito without an extra charge. It took maybe 5 minutes to come out after I ordered but I would've waited an hour for how amazing that was.
google avatar

Marcus S.

Yelp
The food was flavorful the portions are decent i tried them 2x in the same week. The service was great i dont recommend ordering a quesadilla it was like a big taco folded burrito it looked crazy i cant explain it lol.

Sam

Yelp
This Taqueria is average at best. Their tacos are just okay. The burritos lack flavor, somewhat dry and not as delectable and juicy as I'd like. In fact, their burritos were rather disappointing. If you decide to patronize this taqueria then I suggest you primarily order the flour quesadillas and no matter which quesadilla you order, it will not disappoint. The secondary items are the tacos. Their agua Fresca is superb and flavors change daily. The staff, to save grace are pleasant and helpful but this taqueria is only deserving of three stars.
google avatar

Jude D.

Yelp
Really delicious birria tacos here! Use that spicy orange red salsa to kick up the heat. Also loved the addition of cheese to the tacos
google avatar

Yelp
Delish! Friendly folks. Love this place. Inexpensive vegan burritos feed two of us. 5 stars.

Yelp
Solid Mexican cafe in a unique funky Pt. Richmond Street. Pastor was excellent. My friends enjoyed their burritos. Plenty of food per dish.

Yelp
Because I'm "that kind of person" I agreed, at Maya Taqueria, to share a Shrimp Burrito ($12) even though I'd have preferred to order something different. But being generous proved to also be educational; the burrito was excellent. Owing less to the shrimp than the combination of the ingredients, this was comfort food at its best and I could easily imagine any other protein substitute (or straight-up veggie) being equally satisfying. Maya Taqueria isn't much more than an attractive, artsy storefront with tables and chairs on the sidewalk out front. The menu is interesting though and the reasonable prices ($2.50 tacos anyone?) were welcome. It's my own prejudice that compels me to remark that I do wish Maya offered chunkier salsa. The burrito featured fresh pico de gallo (good) but hot sauce here comes in squeeze bottles, one for red sauce (hot) and one for green sauce (mild). Both were good but I prefer my salsa thicker, all the better for spooning atop a tortilla chip ($1/basket). Even with the squeeze bottle salsas though, Maya proved to be doing pretty much everything right and I'd be happy to return for the Shrimp Burrito or pretty much any other menu offering. Sitting out front is a mixed bag of entertainment, a little slice of the City here in Richmond. Enjoy your meal and remain alert.

Yelp
Little hole in the wall spot located in Richmond that has solid burritos and tacos! They do al pastor with pineapples upon request which I love. Perfect for dining in when there's warm weather because they only have outdoor seating. Plenty of parking spots on the street. I often grab food for takeout. Their salsas are really tasty and don't forget to ask for lime and pickled veggies + jalapeños that are available upon request.

Melissa E.

Yelp
Maya is a great Taqueria. Food is fresh and very delicious. The atmosphere is comfortable with a few nice outdoor tables. When I order ahead for take out the food is well packaged and typically ready in 10 minutes. Bonus points for a wonderful Point Richmond location.

Yelp
I have been here before. Guess I forgot to give you all the thumbs up. My bad ‍ This time around I had 2 street tacos, shared nachos and took 2 burritos home for dinner. Tacos are standard street tacos but they come out hot and fresh. I just wish it wasn't $7.00 for 2 tiny tacos. The nachos were amazing and worth going back for! The pic says it all. Hot and crispy chips smothered under the works. The guys sitting a crossed from me were eating super tasty burritos but the ones we had for dinner were just ok. Some things just don't taste as good a few hours later? Not sure so before I say "down with the burritos" I think I need to go try one again. But based on what I tried it is definitely a great place to hit up so go check them out.

Yelp
Been a customer for 3 years. Picked up my Maya Salad and told the cashier I'd forgotten to ask for the chip strips on the side and if it hadn't been made yet to make that adjustment. I explained I wouldn't be able to eat the whole salad adn wanted to enjoy it with chips the next day. The salad had been made so the cashier asked the young woman in the kitchen to put a hand full of chip strips in a bag for me. She said no. The salad had been made. Then she looked at me and rudely said next time ask for the chips on the side in advance. The cashier gave me an apologetic look. I told the woman handing me the bag that next time I would order elsewhere. Seriously? You can't give a hand full of tortilla strips? You can't be polite in your messaging? I wasn't asking for a bag. I was asking for a hand full.
google avatar

Maribel Z.

Yelp
Service was horrible. I've been a customer for years but today was definitely my last time going. I called in my order and asked they omit some toppings on my food due to dietary restrictions. When I arrived to pick up my order I overheard the cheft telling the cashier that the picky customer was here. This is unacceptable, they are insensitive to customer needs. I wasn't trying to be difficult, it was an easy task no Salsa, no sour cream. You'd think they'd be ok with giving me essentially less product for the same price. I'm staying away from this place, and you should too. Masa around the corner has better food and better service!!

Angela B.

Yelp
Started off OK. Cashier was pleasant and greeted me. There was no one waiting and no orders being prepared. I ordered the flautas. Others came after me and all got their food. I checked on the status after 25 minutes to be told it takes a while. Should have been told that to begin with. Waited 5 more minutes and asked if I could cancel. They then plated it and sent me off. No apologies & no acknowledgement that they should tell customers it takes so long. Unfortunately they weren't worth the wait.

Matt P.

Yelp
Ordered a birria burrito. Mostly rice and refried beans and very little beef. For a $13 burrito, you gotta do better.

Janice F.

Yelp
Great food! Very small no seating inside. We call in our order and it's always ready when we arrive! Then we take it home! Yummy!

Lucas V.

Yelp
What's the problem with taking what we asked for? How lazy to work It feels like we are eating for free and not paying for the service.
google avatar

Yelp
Normally I like this place no issues. But today was just lacking. I called to place a phone order for pick up. I asked for a pastor burrito and like usual I'm asked with if with everything. I ask what's everything and the person on the phone lists of the ingredients, mind you they also list off guac. I tell them I would like it with no pico. Refried beans on a tomato tortilla with the guac on the side. I order a salad and also a chicken torta, they ask if I would like the torta with everything and again, I ask and they list off the ingredients. I let them know I would like it only with chicken and lettuce and with the beans they listed off on the side. Once I paid I checked my receipt and noticed they charged me for the guac and beans that they mentioned come on the burrito and torta. That left me confused but it was just an additional $5 and I didn't mind. Once I got home and started taking bites of my burrito, I noticed there was no pastor meat in it. So I open it up to check and nope no pastor meat. I give them a call to let them know they forgot the pastor meat. The guy who answered the phone apologized for the error. He would've fixed the mistake but I was already too far away and not able to go back. Honestly I'm a little disappointed with the additional charges for item that I was under the impression were part of it and the fact they forgot my pastor meat for my pastor burrito. Maybe it's just a bad day for them idk. The burrito was still good but not what i had ordered. WElps

Yelp
Really great salads. Fresh, interesting flavor combinations, and meal sized portions.

Yelp
Not usually a toco fan but this place changed my mind. Fresh and delicious food with happy service .if your near don't miss!

Kristal C.

Yelp
Pineapple water was not what was expected as an agua fresca, tasted more like canned pineapple juice that's been in the can for a while. Burritos were decent by the ratings expected a good burrito but had very little taste in the meat. Service was pretty fast though.

Ramon D.

Yelp
To begin, the customer service here is trash. Secondly they messed up my order twice l. Asked for a burrito, the meat was cold, all fat pieces, taste was really bland. 1/10. Wouldn't recommend this to anyone
google avatar

Bahar R.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh, and friendly! Get the flautas and the lengua! Nice little outside patio in front to shove down the fresh tacos and salsa.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by Maya's in Point Richmond for lunch on a workday and ordered a carnitas ($9) and carne asada ($10) burrito. We saw a couple others take out, but there were a couple tables outside and the weather was nice, so we chose the latter. Do be warned that there may be some aggressive wasps outside - they circled our food and landed on our burritos on several occasions. Guess that's one way to tell the food is good! Overall, we found the two burritos to be affordable and everything tasted fresh. We got some chips too and they were nice and crispy. I also just love how they had two salsas in squeeze bottles so you can add as much or as little to your food and every bite you take. Solid lunch spot near the Richmond area!

Leticia M.

Yelp
Food is good. Service is not always great. I always appreciate the woman on the register- she's always so friendly and kind. The young guy on the other hand is terrible. Doesn't greet you and is extremely abrasive. I thought maybe he was having a bad day... but he's awful every time I see him.

Yelp
This is a total several year experience review Maya is clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful. There is easy convenient parking, located in a fantastic neighborhood (it's still Richmond so don't leave anything in your car). They are fast but I recommend calling in your order during lunch times as it can get busy.my average wait time from call in to pick up is 15 minutes What I love The Maya salad 5 stars with steak! It's fresh and tasty, Coworker gets the salmon tacos, 5 stars. She says delicious, tasty and flavorful. Best salmon tacos in Richmond. Anything Al pastor, it's tender and perfect with a squeeze of lime. Nachos 4 stars (I like more gooey cheese) you get to many chips that have no toppings, maybe layer it better to get good coverage. Also nachos don't travel well the cheese turns into a cheese lump in 10 minutes . It's still tasty and worth getting to share with some tacos Tacos 4 stars, they are street tacos.... Nothing special. But, a good taco is minim 4 stars. The red hot sausage is soooooooo good. The green is okay. If you like spicy go red. What I like less Any burrito/taco shop that charges for chips. Don't charge for chips! Unless they are fresh, house made and unique. That's a loss leader. The "Philly cheese steak" 2 stars it's not a Philly cheese steak. It's a meh steak and cheese torta. It needs that yellow gooey cheese to be a Philly. It needs lettuce tomatoes and avocado to be a Torta, this is neither. I ate it because yea it wasn't nasty. I just don't see myself recommending or ordering again without some changes.
google avatar

Lynn H.

Yelp
Second time here, better experience than my first. No line made it quick to order my baja tacos with shrimp. They cook to order, then call you up to put your food together. Not the quickest method especially if they are busy. The tacos were really good and hit the spot.

Lemora M.

Yelp
I can't believe I've been coming to Maya for over 2 years and have never written a review. I love everything I've ever eaten here. Favorites include the fish platter; al pastor burrito; tortilla soup; and tortas. It has always been delicious and the staff are friendly and professional.

Alpha W.

Yelp
The tacos are delicous! I recommend this place. The burrito is also loaded with everything they are not skipping on portions.
google avatar

Victor G.

Yelp
Maya Taqueria is at Raymond's Pizzeria's side. Maya has limited outside dining, typical mexican menu with slight upgrades. prices look reasonable, portion size adjusted accordingly eats: lengua torta (9.75) "bolillo bread, cheese, tomatos, onions, lettuce, avocado, jalepeno" with exquisite green, red salsa. -could really taste the onions, lengua felt but it didn't have any unami or any flavor, maybe pastor would have been better choice or the new place around the corner. 3.5 stars. salsa was great, protein lacking in substance and flava. take out: -next time i see a lot of veggie included, will skip.
google avatar

Dominique B.

Yelp
The food here is extremely good and has that authentic flavor! I got the butternut squash plant based burrito wrapped in a spinach wrap -- really delicious. My son got the Philly cheese steak and my boyfriend ordered the steak burrito. Everything was cooked to perfection. The wait wasn't long and The customer service was great as well. We definitely recommend!!

Pieter L.

Yelp
Good burritos, great carne asada quesadilla, awesome churros. Very good, fast service, makes it easy to grab a bite for lunch during breaks.
google avatar

Jeremi W.

Yelp
I first tried this place early in 2020, preCOVID. I thought it was delicious. The pastor tacos were flavorful and moist and I really liked the tortillas. I also fell in love with the carne Asada torta. Fast forward 10 months to the other night going. Not sure if it's because it was within an hour of closing or what, but it didn't hit right. My torta tasted unusual, maybe the tweaked the recipe of the asada. But having it sit on hot and wilted lettuce was absolutely disappointing. The pastor on the tacos was dry. Just dry. And finally, I know they can't keep condiments out anymore but I miss the pickled veggies. It would've been nice for them to continue to offer that to patrons, even if staff had to get that for them. The service was polite and safety precautions are being followed. Maybe I'll try them again earlier in the day, but this lady visit was a turn off.

Yelp
I took my bike on a pleasure ride this Memorial Day weekend and I crossed the Richmond Bridge for the first time with a bike. As I arrived on the East Bay side of this steel monstrosity, my stomach told me that it was time to refuel. And shortly after, I rode through the quaint little town of Point Richmond, which I had no idea existed. It's got some New England Charme to it and despite COVID-19 having its firm grip on it, this place was pushing out lunchtime orders like there's no tomorrow. I really enjoyed my sausage burrito, and I especially appreciated the two different kinds of hot sauces that came with it: salsa verde and a red sauce.
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
I rarely eat Mexican food for lunch, but this tiny little restaurant in Point Richmond looked intriguing and is attracting crowds. I have a former manager who raved about their Carne Asada burritos. Last Monday, I saw lines out the door. Construction workers, refinery workers still in fire-resistant coveralls, lawyers, and engineers, etc. Everybody seems to like good, made-to-order Mexican food. There was no line when I went for lunch. I got a Pastor Pork Burrito with refried beans for just under $9. Unlike my Yelp friend and niece, Serena L., I am not a connoisseur of burritos. However, I really liked my burrito - very hot and juicy if that make sense, with a warm and soft tortilla holding it all together. Mexican rice was soft, fluffy, and loosely packed. The pieces of pork did have a nice outer sear. 4 stars for now - I do plan on including Maya for my lunch rotation. El Sol across the street is going to find some major competition.
google avatar

Annabelle H.

Yelp
This is our favorite local spot for burritos! Every single time we get food from here, we wonder why we don't come here more! I always get the lengua burrito - so yummy and lots of lengua. This is also the only Mexican place in the area where I absolutely LOVE both the green and red salsa. Another thing worth mentioning is their tortilla is so good. I never really care to talk about or bring up the tortilla in a burrito because I usually only care about the filling, but their tortillas have the perfect amount of chew and stretch. It's so good! To change things up, my boyfriend got the al pastor burrito last time we went, and he loved it too. Their chips are tasty as well, but you have to order them on the side, as they don't come with the burrito. All in all, this place has the best burritos in town and you have to try them out!
google avatar

Jacob S.

Yelp
The best Mexican restaurant in all of the Bay Area. If you're not eating at this taqueria you're absolutely missing out. The food is delicious and extremely flavorful. It's also a very reasonable priced! The service is as great as it gets, the people working there are the most friendly people you will ever meet. If I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would. There's a reason why this has so many good reviews in such a short amount of time being open. Try it for yourself and you will not be disappointed!!!
