MayaBay

"This establishment combines a Japanese and a Thai restaurant with a single Asian ambience, depicted by contemporary glitz and soft music. High-quality ingredients, well-judged spices and a shared price and quality; all you have to do is choose between perfumed or minimalist cuisine." - Michelin Inspector

Our go-to spot for Asian cuisine in Monaco This is always our top choice when we want delicious, beautifully presented Asian food. We’ve been here many times, and it never disappoints. The dishes are consistently excellent - flavorful, fresh, and artfully plated. The quality and attention to detail make it stand out among Monaco’s dining scene. Every visit leaves us completely satisfied. Highly recommend for anyone looking for exceptional Asian cuisine!

Great dining with experience with my kids. Excellent service by Clement, our host, that evening. The food was so nice, perfect balanced and for sure worth visiting again.

Maya Bay never disappoints. This wasn’t my first time dining here, and somehow it just keeps getting better. The atmosphere is always spot-on — elegant yet relaxed, with that signature Monaco edge. The Thai and Japanese fusion is consistently impressive. You can tell the ingredients are top quality, and the flavours are so well balanced. I always go back for the yellow tail sashimi (Thai way) and some prawn curry — both flawless every time. Cocktails are also a standout, with creative mixes that actually complement the food. Service is just as memorable as the food — warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. It’s one of those places I make a point to return to whenever I’m in town. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates a refined dining experience with a bit of soul.

I’ve never written a review before, but after my experience at Maya Bay in Monaco, I feel I have no choice. Honestly, this was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had, and I’m still in disbelief that a restaurant in Monaco could manage to fail so spectacularly in every single area. I was seated alone and waited 45 minutes just to get a menu. The staff said they thought I was waiting for someone. I clearly stated I was alone at the entrance. Then came the table situation. I was approached three separate times about moving my table. The first two times I politely declined. The third time, they moved me without asking, and I ended up in the middle of the restaurant where people were constantly bumping into me. I couldn’t even sit back in my chair comfortably. I ordered sushi with crab meat. Within the first bite, I found hard crab shell pieces—literal skeleton fragments. I found at least four pieces, and I couldn’t eat the rest of the sushi as you can see in the picture. When I sent the pieces back to show the chef, I was told, “This is normal. We try to clean the crab, but this happens.” No. This is not normal, and at €93 for two sushi pieces and three pieces of gyozas, it is completely unacceptable. I refused the replacement because I didn’t want to risk paying more money for another poorly prepared dish. I will never go back, not even if I were starving.

The food at Mayabay was genuinely 10/10 — beautifully presented, full of flavour, and exactly what you’d expect from a high-end restaurant in Monaco. From a culinary point of view, it absolutely delivers. However, the New Year’s Eve experience was a big disappointment. The restaurant’s website advertised a New Year’s Eve party, which is the only reason I booked and paid a €700 deposit. When we arrived, there was no party atmosphere whatsoever — no vibe, no music, no countdown energy. It felt like a normal dinner service, not a NYE celebration. That part honestly felt misleading and left a very bad taste, especially considering the price and expectations set online. Paying that kind of deposit for something that simply didn’t exist feels unfair. Final thoughts: Amazing food, no doubt about it — but the New Year’s Eve “party” was a letdown and did not match what was advertised. If you’re going purely for dinner, great. If you’re expecting a NYE celebration, don’t rely on the website.

Food is great! Except the Focaccia bread with salmon topping. Overall we were impressed by the food. Cocktails by the glass of champagne was average. The wine by the glass is good enough. However it was marred by a group smoking inside the resto! Such a fancy resto allows a group to smoke indoor even if there's a somewhat opening window but really? The rest of people sitting inside have to endure the smoke. There are many nice restaurants in this area, wouldn't rush back.

MayaBay is the best restaurant in Monaco!!! The service was amazing, the food and flavour — unreal. It was my husband’s birthday, they took care of us and made it extra special. This is definitely the go to place while in Monaco.

The food is absolutely insane! Very very good and tasty! I recommend the sushi! Padthai doesn’t look like the picture, it was good but not as tasty as it looked on the picture! Food wise it’s one of my favourite place in Monaco, however the service is really poor, it’s such a shame! They have everything to be an unavoidable location in the principality but the service is downgrading the place! Cocktails are nice too!
