Yelp
I first learned about Maya's cookies at the Orange County Fairgrounds during a vegan festival. I bought a bunch of them and I was sold! Unfortunately, there is no store in Orange County but they do offer delivery and I have definitely taken advantage of that on various occasions and have also been gifted cookies via delivery. The cookies are so flavorful, gooey, chewy sweet and delicious. Exactly how you expect a cookie to taste. And they're big! The texture is amazing. It's hard to believe they're vegan. Also there's so many flavors to choose from especially with the rotating menu. I have never been to the actual store, but, at the vegan festival, the booth was super cute and the employees were nice and helpful. I think I even met Maya . The experience and the cookies left a great impression on me. I have yet to find a comparable place in Orange County.

Yelp
These are truly some of the BEST cookies I've had in a long time. Had a random craving with my work bestie and so I made the drive to pick up a half dozen that we shared between us. These cookies are full of flavor, huge, and satisfy sweet tooth cravings like no other. We split snickerdoodles, smores cookies, and a birthday cookie (sprinkles galore). They seem to rotate their flavors which is nice so you can try a bit of everything, but do seem to have some that regularly stay on the menu as well. I definitely will have this spot added to my regular rotation whenever I'm craving delectable cookies.

Yelp
Store front in Grantville area has everything you need. Before you walk in, you inhale a waff of sweet delicious baked goods. Store has cookies, merchandise, cookies dough, and packaged drinks in fridge. I bought the half dozen and chose six cookies. Taste of all cookies is the home made feels. Crispy edges, caramelized sugar, softer center. Large size cookies. All delicious, choose your favorite.

Yelp
Who would have thought vegan cookies could be so delicious! We bought a few boxes for our employees and I devoured a few before we got to work haha! The creative variety of cookies and consistently deliciousness had me sold. I loved the chocolate chip, matcha, Oreo, etc - I could go on and on about them.

Yelp
Love the cookies. My family was in town and I had to let them taste the cookies. I've always caught them at a street fair. This time I went to the location. The service was nice and swift. The vibe of the store was entrepreneur. Go get yourself some cookies and ice cream. I promise you will not regret it!

Yelp
The little place is cute located in a business park. I was pleasantly surprised how delicious the cookies were. I can tell they add much love and quality ingredients into these Vegan cookies! The flavor is packed with a bold explosion of flavor. There are a good variety of cookies to choose from which I had to try different flavors! and loved them all! They have Vegan ice cream as well if you so desire! Cookies plus ice cream pair so well together! They were so yummy, I decided to buy a box full of cookies for an additional Christmas gift! Thank you Mays for your talent and passion selling your "WINNER COOKIES" for everyone to enjoy! Go grab yourself some Maya cookies today, and I promise you life will be much sweeter! !

Yelp
After a family dinner party recently, I brought out a plate of Maya's cookies after dinner - and the crowd went wild! Only after everything was devoured did I dare say that they were vegan. My nearly exclusively carnivore family was shocked! And then said that they didn't believe me! Yes, Maya's cookies are THAT GOOD. I'm not vegan, more of a flexitarian, and Maya's cookies are my favorite cookies hands down! I'm trying to treat myself better, and part of that plan is to stop at Maya's more often. About a week ago I stopped by and got a Wheat Free Oatmeal Chocolate Chip and a Tuxedo (?) which had black and white chocolate chips. I'm a fan of everything here. Definitely treat yourself to Maya's!

Yelp
Excellent cookies. You do not need to be vegan to enjoy these! My top cookie spot in San Diego

Yelp
Was recommended Maya's Cookies from a friend saying they were the best cookies in San Diego. Didn't realize they were vegan coming in and was surprised how good they are for being vegan. Located in a small office spot, they have many flavors along with ice cream and other treats. The cookies were more hard and stuck to my teeth which I didn't like but since they are vegan it's what one should expect. The flavor itself is on point and I loved how many options there are. Check Maya's out for some delicious vegan cookies.

Yelp
The best cookies! I get the marble cookie and it's absolutely yummy. I've been to the farmers market pop up and in store. Both are equally good.
google avatar

Yelp
The best cookies in San Diego! Maya's is my all time favorite spot to grab a cookie (or 2!) when I'm craving something sweet. Love how they have different flavors! If you're unable to swing by their store, they're always set up at the Hillcrest Farmers Market on Sundays! Don't take my word, try them out yourself! P.S. order the chocolate chip cookie! Classic, yet the best flavor in my opinion!

Yelp
The s'mores cookie is one of the best cookies I have had and would buy and eat again and again. During the holidays they have a peppermint s'mores cookie that is delicious too. They have oatly soft serve too but it's not my favorite. Stick to the vegan cookies!! Quick service and across from the post office. A few parking spots in the lot, this shop is on the corner, look for the pink signs.

Yelp
TL;DR: Good cookies, friendly staff - take home and reheat if you want to get it chewier Not exactly the easiest place to find but once you're there, you get lured in by smelling the sugar and cookies :) Only wanted one and tried the snickerdoodle - not too sweet but cold and a little on the stale side (might've sat too long in the box?) Recommend coming early in the open hours to hopefully catch fresh cookies - be back next time! Cheers, Maya's!

Yelp
Great cookie shop that we frequently visit at farmers market. Didn't know they had an in person location until now. Guess what? They even have vegan ice cream with crumbled cookie and other assorted toppings, plus all kinds of merch and a fridge section. Great find!

Yelp
I've been a fan of Mayas cookies for about 4 years now ish. First time I tried them was in a Long Beach vegan festival, then a few years back I came to their store in SD. All was good then. I just went today and I am so so so disappointed. The quality of the cookies seem the same but, there are less options now and at 12:40 pm there was only 4 cookies to pick from. The most disappointing thing was the cashier. She was a white tall woman and for a small business, she is a bad representation and seemed like she did not want to sell (that's a saying we have in Spanish). First, she sounded like it was a chore to sell cookies just not welcoming super bland. There was a limited amount of cookies and we would have waited for the rest but she didn't say when they would come out or if we stuck around then they'd be ready. I paid $33 for my cookies and gave her a $100 bill and she was so slooooow in doing the math. Customer service and availability of cookies are down and down bad. I wouldn't usually mind the dark ambience in the store if the cookies and experience was like I remembered but now it just adds to a depressing vibe. I will unfortunately no longer be recommend this place as I have for years. I will see if next time the quality and customer service is better. It sucks to see the quality and customer service go down in a place I loved. For an experience like this, might as well go to any other store for some cookies.

Yelp
I do not usually go for vegan food items or desserts but WOW were the cookies and ice good! I didn't even think about it being vegan it was just so darn tasty, tasted like a normal cookie! My daughter and I got the birthday cake cookie because she liked the look of the sprinkles as well as a ice cream with vanilla and chocolate. I'm currently on a diet restriction and the fact the ice cream is made with oat milk was really helpful for me! And it tasted good too! I'm totally coming back here for more cookies! I also love the location, it's nestled in a really quiet area and parking and stuff was a breeze!

Reena A.

Yelp
These cookies are SO good. A bit pricey but worth it. Tried 4 different kinds. Quick little spot to grab and go. Location isn't the most convenient since it's not around anything else, but there's parking and was easy to find. Just lookout for the signs.

Yelp
Great quality cookies. Tastes delicious and are a great size! Would highly recommend!

Yelp
Whenever I go to farmers markets, Hillcrest or Little Italy, I always stop at mayas booth! It's really great that they have an actual store to visit when the farmers market isn't running. It's off the 8 freeway and kind of tucked away but there are signs to help you find the store on the corner and there are few spots in the parking lot as well as street parking. The shop itself is pretty small to the point: they have merch, the cookies, and their kitchen in the back. They have revolving flavors, which is nice to have items and rotations to come back and try!! Snickerdoodle is my all-time favorite, but they are s'mores and chocolate chip are also very good. I really love this place because I am lactose intolerant so for them to be dairy free is awesome. Plus they taste amazing! If you are ever in the area or at one of the farmers markets, I highly recommend to stop and try them !
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
Love these cookies! I usually buy a few when I see them at the farmers market and this was my first time at their physical location. It's small and a little out the way, but worth it. I've never had a cookie here I didn't like. They always have the texture I'm looking for in a cookie. Highly recommend the his place!
google avatar

Leslie S.

Yelp
These cookies are so yummy! As soon as you walk into the shop, it smells like delicious goodness! I got the white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, wheat free drunken grandma (oatmeal) cookie, Oreo cookie, and the s'mores cookie. There's so many options to choose from. I also love that they have the nutrition facts for most cookies listed on their website. These cookies are so good. You won't even realize that they are vegan! If you're nearby, please stop by or try them at the Hillcrest farmers market! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
After getting Maya's cookie delivery through the mail for months, finally got to visit in person! Great fresh vegan cookies. Big selection. It's a random location-- in an office park full of churches. This is JUST COOKIES- don't expect a cute cafe to hang out it. I think this is the baking facility?

Julie W.

Yelp
Maya's Cookies are my favorite! We had them cater our wedding and they were terrific--beautifully made and absolutely delicious. I've been a regular customer and was thrilled to include their treats on our big day. Shelley was our contact. She was quick to respond to my questions. We only had a few cookies left by the end of the night--which says it all!

Elle K.

Yelp
Best cookies I've ever had in my life. Big enough to share but you won't want to. Allergen friendly and supports local/ black/women owned business
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely delicious cookies! Crispy crunch on the outer layer with a soft chewy center. My absolute favorite type of cookie and they are VEGAN! I first tried Maya's Cookies at the Hillcrest Farmer's Market but love that they have a brick and mortar shop now to pick up cookies everyday of the week. The brown butter cookie is incredible. It's hands down my favorite and tastes like a butter cake. I also recently tried a chocolate espresso cookie that was so unique and tasty! Everything is delicious and worth the visit to try!

Yelp
HYPES: Maya's cookies!!!! =') need i say more? it's soft, gooey and tastes homemade which is a VERY good thing when it comes to cookies!! I love the white chocolate/dark chocolate combo cookie. and a number of the cookies they sold for Black history month! i love that they're vegan!!! my stomach doesn't hurt one bit after devouring these cookies!!!! these were so good, i took a box home to share with my friends and family in sacramento. they all loved it, too! Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for years now. Finally made it down from San Diego. It's tucked off in the cut but not hard to find. Very cute, CLEAN location. We were immediately greeted by the young lady at the register. After trying chocolate soft serve I ordered a vanilla bean, rum cookie and a snickerdoodle. I haven't tried the snickerdoodle yet but the other cookie is AMAZING!! Can't wait to bring my daughter back. Sorry for the average picture. I forgot to take one before I started. Check her out, you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Yelp
Hidden in industrial area but their are pink signs pointing the way. Visited just before closing on Thursday. Usually visited Maya cookies when they are at Vegan Exchange in North Hollywood which we did on Sunday prior to our trip but ran out so here we are. Inside is small but offers alot of variety of cookies & soft serve. We ordered 6 cookies, cookie batter & ube soft serve. Very good customer service. Met owner. She greeted us with her beautiful smile. Bonus go to their website & they ship to you. Also have catering. Highly recommend their vegan cookies.

Yelp
I always make sure to buy a cookies whenever I see them at a farmers market! My life was changed when I found out they have an actual store! I follow their instagram and check their stories for their daily stories. Best vegan cookies ever!!!
google avatar

Casey C.

Yelp
Ube ice cream was good, came with a cookie and was $7 (their prices include taxes so that's the final price). I've had other cookies from them before and they're also really good. About the size of Crumbl cookies and I prefer Maya's - I love supporting small businesses and vegan establishments. A minor qualm I have is that I asked what the soft serve base was, the employee said coconut but then I went outside and saw a sign that said it was oat based (specifically Oatly brand). Luckily I'm not allergic to either, but it would be nice if they could be wary of that. There's a couple picnic tables outside if you want to sit, but I think most people just took their orders to go.
google avatar

Alissa T.

Yelp
You'd never know these cookies were vegan!! I've loved every cookie I've tried from Maya's, but my all time favorite is the marble fudge. Maya's is nowhere near my house, but I go out of my way to make a stop to get these tasty treats. Also, they sell their cookie dough and bc it's vegan, I don't feel bad about eating the raw cookie dough!! I get it every year for the end of the school year and a scoop of that per night really helps provide the minute of serenity that is so needed at the end of the year!
google avatar

Yelp
Small little shop for cookies in Granville the place is small but easy to spot. I had a cookie and it was great but price is a bit high but one cookie when craving it is fine. The staff were great as well and welcoming.
google avatar

Kim P.

Yelp
Wow, I was blown away by how good these vegan cookies are! I am not vegan, but I have a good friend who is and I've tried many vegan desserts with her. Typically I don't find vegan desserts very appetizing but these cookies definitely are! I tried and chocolate chip s'mores and the snickerdoodle and both were delicious. Would highly recommend!

Christy D.

Yelp
These cookies are amazing! Some on the sweet side and yet some on a delicious but heartier cookie. I recommend this place for you.
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
The food is pretty good, especially for being vegan. So nice to slowly tear. The service was fast. Hours are 11 to 5 though we came at 4:40 the cookies were warm! Maya came out special to meet my daughter. Once again cookies were delicious! Even the simple one.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Truly phenomenal cookies! I'm not quite sure how Maya's Cookies are able to make such outstanding treats without any animal products. While they are a bit on the pricey side, the cookies are fairly large and come in a variety of specialty flavors. My absolute favorite being the Famous "Everything" Cookie which comes stuffed with chocolate chips, pretzels, oatmeal, pecans, caramel chips, and a giant melted marshmallow. With so many flavors, Maya's soft and chewy cookies are a true treasure, especially for vegans!
google avatar

Smitha A.

Yelp
First things first, I have never met a nicer store owner. And Maya wasn't fake about it. She was loving and genuine. I didn't get the name of the other young woman behind the counter huts he was amazing too. Maya told me they had Ube soft serve that day. Tip: if they have it, get it! It's fantastic! Creamy but not too sweet. Gluten free and vegan. Next I was able to take home 4 drunken grandma cookies - gluten free! They were amazing. Chewy and soft and crispy around the edges. Just the way a cookie should be. I'm going back. You should too.
google avatar

Martina G.

Yelp
The best cookie I have eaten, ever! The "Scandalous" cookie, amaretto dough, bing cherries, sliced almonds. Does it get any better, no it doesn't! With a cup of coffee, changed my morning and worth every penny!
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
These cookies are MAGIC IN YOUR MOUTH...and VEGAN?!?! I've been coming here for a few years now, never had a batch of cookies that I didn't enjoy. The cookies are chewy and flavorful, not just sugary. The presentation is really well done, the cookies are good to look at and tasty too. The service is always great. It's a small bakery and is usually staffed by one person. The bakery is bright and colorful. There is very limited parking, but it's usually no biggie. If it's some kind of holiday, there may be a line. The day that I came here, I found that they are now selling cookie dough. The prices have gone up, but that's life, eh?
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
I love that they are a vegan friendly cookie company. They have gluten free options on their website but I didn't notice the option in the store so you may need to pre order gluten free I tried the s'more, mixed with brownie batter, and everything cookie. The everything was my favorite and I think I would have liked the plain chocolate chip. The marshmallow on the s'more cookie wasn't that great . It sounded better than the execution of it.

Laura D.

Yelp
Best cookies I ever had! They are delicious :) Happened to be at the Post Office and saw the cute little shop. Never had a Vegan cookie before, but my new "go to" for an afternoon treat!
google avatar

Xuan N.

Yelp
Massive cookies for a great price! The location of this place is so tucked away but it clearly doesn't need heavy traffic to be a successful business. The cookies speak for themselves. I always see their booth at several farmer's markets in San Diego and always try to snag some cookies when I can. I tried the cosmic brownie cookie and it was amazing. The outside was crispy and the inside was soft and chewy. The icing on top was super sweet but definitely reminiscent of the nostalgic cosmic brownie. Although it was great, I do not know if I would get it again because of how sweet it was. The other flavors I've tried though weren't as sweet. Service was great as well! I'm really glad San Diego has a spot like this for vegan treats.
google avatar

Jacquie R.

Yelp
Of all the specialty cookie shops in SD this is my favorite! They're just done right. All the shops are basically cookies with tons of chunks and flavors but with Maya's everything blends really well together and the cookie base itself is good and then they have the added chunks/bits as well. I think that's what makes them the best. The other shops the core of the cookie is lacking and they rely too much on the additives to do the work so they fall flat.
google avatar

Esperanza O.

Yelp
I heard of Maya's cookies from a friend before but had never had the chance to try them. Fortunateley they were one of the vendors in the North Park winter fair. First of all, let me start by saying that customer service was excellent, the young man even gave us a free cookie to try which was such a nice gesture. Now, let's talk about the cookies. We ordered the cinnamon, the red velvet and the chocolate peppermint. All cookies are big and heavy and are totally worth the price which is $5 per cookie. They taste like a proper cookie should taste. Most importantly they taste like the advertised flavor. The cinnamon cookie tasted like cinnamon, it was also stuffed with pecans. The red velvet had that nice chocolate flavor without it being overwhelming or it turning into a plain chocolate cookie, it tasted like red velvet should. Lastly, the peppermint chocolate cookie was well balanced which is hard to do anytime you add peppermint to anything. Surprisingly, none of the cookies were overwhelmingly sweet which is not a small feat. I can't wait to try more of their cookie flavors. They are truly excellent, chewy, yummy tasting cookies.

Juzenne C.

Yelp
I've had their cookies before from a friend and was always a fan. I was in the area and was so excited to stop by. The worker was very nice and helpful. I got a s'mores cookie and a macadamia nut cookie as well. They were both delicious but the macadamia nut was my favorite. Definitely worth stopping by and they have a Yelp discount!

Yelp
My friends call me the Cookie Monster because cookies are literally my fav food and if I could eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner I would! Maya's cookies is tucked away in the industrial district of Mission Gorge. Hidden gem if you ask me! I came here with full intention to sample just about every cookie so I bought a total of 9 cookies. The ones I've tried so far: Everything cookie- absolutely mouth watering such an incredible combination of ingredients S'mores- a nice twist on a delicious chocolate chip cookie White Chocolate Macadamia- my fiancés favorite The wheat free m&m was definitely different. Wasn't the biggest fan but got it for my nephew. I can't wait to try the rest that are in my freezer now My fiancé couldn't believe these were vegan- don't knock it till you try it!
google avatar

Audra H.

Yelp
Wow...my student brought me some of Maya's cookies today and I'm super duper impressed! They're vegan, which is amazing and even better...they're delicious!!! I had a chocolate peppermint cookie to start. It had some gooey, sweet marshmallow in the middle and a pepperminty kick to the chocolate. The cookie was soft and scrumptious! Definitely one of my favorites! I also tried the snickerdoodle cookie. It had the same soft texture but a nice little crispy crunch on the outside. It was spectacular! There are actually serval other cookies I have to try, but I can't eat that many in one day. I have a feeling they'll be amazing, too! Definitely check them out!

Yelp
After a wonderful brunch with my friend, she mentioned a black woman owned vegan cookie spot. I've never had vegan cookies, so I was down to see what the hype was about. We pulled up to this cute little pink spot with these massive cookies to choose from. I don't remember everything we picked, but my eyes immediately were drawn to the uncle nearest cookie. I figured it would be perfect with a shot of (drumroll) Uncle Nearest. So we went home and did exactly that. The shot perfectly enhanced the cookie, which had "whiskey candied pecans, caramel chips, and chocolate chips enveloped in a whiskey-infused brown sugar dough."" Description taken from the website, but man that cookie was so good. Kudos to Maya's Cookies!

Yelp
The cookies is very good and moist. The size of the cookie is big as well. Great customer services
