Delicious! Great service from Gabby! Great atmosphere! We ducked in here to get out of 5pm traffic, checked reviews in the parking lot and decided to give it a try. Three words: we'll be back! (That's technically four!)

Came here for lunch on a Saturday with 6 kids. Waitress was very friendly. Ordered a bunch of the kids’ sliders, a regular plain cheeseburger, and a chicken Caesar salad. All the kids were happy with their dishes. I loved my Caesar salad - the flavor was top tier. Fresh and flavorful.

We had planned to go to a different restaurant for lunch but the line to get in was insane, so we asked Google for a shrimp po boy near me and Google said Maybank Public House. This place had a really nice private outdoor area and we sat down to order. However there was no shrimp po boy on the menu. So we asked the server and she said they had one for years but it was taken off the menu a few years ago and replaced by a shrimp burger. So the hubs ordered one of those I was too suspicious that it would taste good - so I ordered a club. I had a locally brewed dark beer, which was super tasty. I tried to order a half pour - but they don’t offer that. Bummer. The hubs ordered the shrimp burger with fries and a side of the gouda mac and cheese. I had the club and fries. We were shocked how good that shrimp burger was - it tasted AMAZING!!! The fries were yumO and the mac and cheese was very good too. Our service was good, we always appreciate that.

Shout out to Gretchen for stellar service. We received food/drink promptly despite it being a busy Saturday. Gretchen was very kind and checked a dietary request with the kitchen before we ordered. Something I liked about Maybank is that there was seating at the bar, outdoors, and in a quiet dining room (which is what we opted for).

You gotta love their "aloha fries". Never a dull moment with these guys :)

During our visit to Maybank Public House, I found the food to be very good, the service excellent, and it was easy to park and find a seat. Overall, it was a great experience!

The food, service, and experience are consistent and excellent overall. If you are a fan of good burgers, this spot is so underrated! I also highly recommend the corn fritters and the rib appetizer. They even have a delicious lamb gyro. I can honestly say that everything that I have tried at this restaurant is amazing. Give them a try! Update: They still go so hard! Never disappointed. The spicy aioli paired with their calamari is such a tasty vibe. And the beet salad with goat cheese fritters over arugula is so amazing.

Was a nice place for a quick snack. Their brunch looks amazing. Will come back for that soon!

We've been here twice now and it's a great choice for American style bar food! The staff are friendly and food service is fairly quick. Parking is a little tough with several other businesses right around so you may have to circle a few times. The inside and patio are huge though so you shouldn't have trouble grabbing a seat. The Pimento Cheese BLT is good but more of a just a patty melt style, not a traditional BLT with pimento on it. The Aloha fries are our favorite item. A friend got the salmon added to her salad and it was a huge piece for the price. Inside is pretty standard feeling if not a little sterile. Not somewhere I want to chill for a long time but also comfortable and clean for a quick lunch.

Nice ambiance and the burgers and apps are good. Deviate into the other mains on the menu and don't expect much. I'm a little soured by the insistence by the manager on shift that fries shall be greasy and limp.

Ordered gyros for takeout after a recommendation from my sister. Loved our food! She mentioned this is a really good happy hour spot so we're excited to come back and check It out inside.

There was a miscommunication between our waitress about who had our table, so we waited for a long time before our order was taken. They apologized with a piece of cake though, which was nice. The Cuban was good even though it could have used some more sauce or something to make it a little less dry. The fries have a nice seasoning on them. Very oily. The cake was very moist and delicious. It was very large piece. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and quieter atmosphere.

Greeted as we walked in and accommodated us with seating at a low table Vs the high chairs. Nice and quiet in the back room. We had an assortment of well made adult beverages from their well stocked bar. My absolute favorite was the calamari with jalapeños. The wedge salad was a stand out with the added calamari. Others had wedge salad topped with a burger, hatch chili burger and shrimp n grits and enjoyed by all. Good anytime of the day with great food. Handicap parking available.

The staff greets you with humor and a smile. There are a few gluten free options. Other items can be modified to be gluten free such as a burger without a bun. There is not a dedicated fryer so that eliminated numerous side selections. The staff is somewhat knowledgeable about gluten free/Celiac/Gluten intolerance. The interior design is not the most interesting. The location is great for an after event meal because it is near a theatre and a venue. There is plenty of parking. Overall the food tastes average and it's nothing out of the extraordinary.

Another great time at The Public House. I love their Korean ribs. No one does it as good as they do here. I also had a really nice fish n chips meal. Not greasy, it was perfect!! They have Celebration on tap. Another favorite.

Let me start with... "THE SOURDOUGH TOAST IS EVERYTHING!" I'm going back just for the bread. Buttery deliciousness! Okay, moving on - I ordered the tomato bisque soup and the grilled cheese sandwich. I was joking, telling the server I really only got the sandwich because I needed something to dip and asked if they just had toast/bread. He hooked me up with toast! (Best toast ever!) Awesome service! They usually only have it for brunch so I was getting Queen treatment! The soup was warm in temp - which could've been hotter for sure, but maybe sat waiting? and was a smidge too salty, but was still very good. Rich, nice and smooth, and well portioned. The lamb burgers get an A! Cooked as asked, tender, and good portions.

While waiting to meet up at the Terrance Theatre to view a documentary hours earlier, I went to Maybank Public House to pass the time by having an appetizer and an $8 glass of house wine. After receiving the check, and realizing that I had more time, I gave the check back and ordered another glass of wine. The problem and the reason for this review, the $8 house wine was now a $12 glass of wine x 2 (still using the house wine no doubt). As a paying customer, it would have been in my right to ask why the price increased, but it would have gone left real quick because he would have denied it, threatened to call the police, and be the victim. So rather than ruin my evening, I paid $24 for the 2 glasses of wine ($8 difference) and the $12 appetizer and vowed never to return there again. What saddened me most on this Juneteeth was that the mindset still remains the same hundreds of years later, generations removed. I am certain that the three other tables of patrons did not have price increases, yet the comfort level of doing it to me was deemed ok. I don't know if a person's heart sees me as less than, I can only interpret based on my experiences by way of their choices, followed by their actions. I'm not worried about the $8 taken fraudulently because I believe in Karma and I believe God answers prayers. That $8 will no doubt cost him thousands in the end.

In search of an evening meal after a long shift at work on a beautiful day, Maybank Public House offered outdoor seating where we could bring the pup. We sat outside on the beautiful and large patio. Stumbling onto this place has been one of the best things to happen to me in Charleston since I have moved here just a short while ago. They offer more than just your typical bar food. The food has an Asian flair to to a lot of its items. But it's not just the uniqueness of the menu options that sets this place apart. The food is INCREDIBLE. I ordered the encrusted tuna. It was cooked PERFECTLY. I've made the mistake of ordering tuna at other restaurants and forgetting to order it rare (really shouldn't have to) and it has come out like leather. But at Maybank, it was perfectly seared and rare in the middle. Encrusted in a dough and seasoned to perfection. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend wanted to slap me because I couldn't stop talking about how good it was with every bite. I would love to come back and try more of the menu, but I'll probably just get this again. Regardless, I will be back Maybank. Give them a try.

Good upscale bar food. Tables in bar area are small. The service was good. A bit on pricey side for the food. I think for the price their are better options but the food was good. Food was cooked correctly, burger was good. Fresh meat, tomato soup hearty & tasty. Grilled cheese was good. Fries were really good.

When I moved to Charleston, one of the first places I happened to eat out was the Maybank Public House. Since then this has become our "Safe" place we take people to eat when they're visiting. The service is always incredible, fast and attentive. The food is always delicious and prepared just as we asked. My personal favorite is their Pimento burger, but even when I try other things I'm never let down. They also have a great rotating draft list which is always well balanced. The nice thing about this place is that it's also family friendly. We've brought everything from infants to rambunctious toddlers here and there's something for them to enjoy off the menu as well as not feel like you're destroying someone near you's dinner. The long booths are perfect for wrangling them. All in all, I know that if I mention to my wife going here... the answer is always yes.

First times coming here with friends and throughly enjoyed ourselves! We came mostly for the bottomless mimosas and was not disappointed! There is ample room for single and group eating . Our server was nice and attentive with us ! The fries are too die for! Both aloha and truffle! The only thing I found wrong was the lamb burgers , they were underwhelming and not that great

I'm knocking down my Yelp to-do list. Getting shorter everyday. Lol. I came here on Father's Day with my kids. This place has been on my radar. I also have for other restaurants on Maybank highway I want to visit. I was thinking I would have to cross that bridge and go out to John's island. I'm pulling into the parking lot I understand that these places are in this parking lot. Also the movie theater I wanted to visit. The side of town is really came up. The whole city for that matter. The low countries getting more modern everyday. It's a beautiful thing. The whole parking lot was jumping. Lot of energy people everywhere. Super crowded. The pictures of the food had me gaining weight before I even got here. Lol. I hate to be redundant. But I'm seeing a growing trend. I don't know why. Black waiters and waitresses are becoming extinct. I don't know if they're not applying but it's hard to believe there's not starving college students of color looking for jobs as others are. And I think about this often. There's a misconception black people don't tip. But I see the conception of them not hiring people of color except for the kitchen. You tell me what you see when you go out. Now let's get to the main event. There aloha fries is sick. SICK I TELL YOU!!!! Too much to describe. Lol. Order them trust me it's an experience. They can also prepare them as a side for your entree. The pimento cheese is not that good. Doesn't taste homemade and really stiff for the pita bread. The spinach dip is complete opposite nice and creamy beautiful for spreading full of flavor. I enjoy the lamb burgers they were well seasoned. But just a tad bit garlicky. I had the chicken sandwich with a big old fried green tomato on it. With some of the lower price. It was stupendous. We also had the burger and which I don't remember the name. But my son really enjoyed it. I had a bite and I got admit it was pretty good. My daughter had the chicken gyro and fries. The food was very good. Real nice atmosphere also. I won't be back. We can't hear our father's day. And with that here's my tip of the day. Sir, I know you watch your wife get the most lavish gifts from your kids. But you get a tie from Walgreens. I know you're afraid that you're going in a nursing home but your wife won't. I know you're the one that has to leave the cave and go kill and bring the meat. I know you're the one that has to go see what that noise is downstairs in the middle of the night. I know your kids see their mother as their friend but you are the police. Or even worse a dictator. And you most likely haven't had someone said I love you today. So I'm here to tell you I love you the job you're doing is great. Your kids especially your daughter is going to be your best friend but it's going to come later in life. just sit in a quiet room and cry to yourself when you're hurting. But you're doing a great job and without you our future does not look bright at all. You are appreciated sir.HAPPY FATHERS DAY AND I LOVE U!!!! (I miss u dad. Hope I'm making u proud)

In February, my running club hosted a mixer on the outdoor patio at Maybank Public House to kick off 2022, and we had a wonderful experience. Sarah was our assigned server for the night, and she did great juggling multiple drink tickets and cards. Our club ordered an assortment of apps, and the server team was great at bringing them out when we had a large crowd show up and refilling them when we reordered after running out. We had around 30 attendees at several picnic tables, so this was not an easy task. We ordered most of our usual apps, like the pimento cheese, spinach dip, and truffle fries. The fried shrimp are a great addition to the appetizer menu, as they are easy to grab on your plate and go. The shrimp are large and fried perfectly crispy. Do request extra pita for the dips! Drink prices here are also reasonable, especially for the portion size. The margarita is my favorite, at only $9 and served in a pint glass. It's strong, and the drink is fresh squeezed, no bottled mixes here. I always look forward to coming here and highly recommend Maybank Public House as well as their sister restaurant, Coleman Public House in Mt. Pleasant. Both have large outdoor areas for socializing, and you can't go wrong with the apps.

Had the southwest salad with salmon and also tried the Cobb salad. Both were fabulous! Waiter was excellent!

I can't speak about the in person experience because we ordered through DoorDash, but the food was delicious. We visited from out of town and were exhausted after a long day at the market, museum, and aquarium so we needed something quick with different options. We ordered the fried shrimp with Parmesan truffle fries and the gyro with the same fries. The portion sizes were perfect and it was one of the better gyros I've had. I wouldn't mind going to the actual location if we can find a babysitter.

Really quick and great service, but they were not busy when we went there. We don't drink, so this review is strictly about the food. We got the mac and cheese and fried shrimp apps and chocolate cake for dessert. The Mac and cheese write-up on the menu said it had bacon in it, but I found none. The saltiness of the bacon would have improved the flavor, but it was still pretty good. The shrimp was cooked well, and the remoulade made the dish. Still, the shrimp needed more interesting flavor somehow. The cake tasted good, but it was chilled and I wish it had been room temp. Nothing against these folks but I probably won't go here again.

Always my neighborhood go to spot. Always consistent and bartenders are friendly and generally look happy there. The spinach and artichoke dip is omg delicious. They also have a great patio to bring your puppies.

Food was decent. Bar was SUPER loud. Couldn't hear the person next to me. Probably just acoustics, but it stinks that the acoustics are so bad. I won't go back to the bar just because of that. If you want to have a conversation with the person next to you, don't go here.

Good place for burgers and steak! The tap beer selection is excellent! The red wine selection was excellent!

This venue had the vibe of a local watering hole but with great food. We started with drinks and plenty of great-tasting appetizers like Calamari and Arugula Beet Pecan Encrusted Goat Cheese Salad before our main meal, tapas-style with Fish Tacos, Pan Seared Chicken & Asian Glazed Baby Back Ribs and Ale Steamed Clams. There were so many choices of beer, wine & cocktails. Local beers from local breweries are always my first choice but I had an amazing rye old fashioned or 2 while my date and friends stuck with the local beers and a couple of potent Bloody Mary's. Summary. All excellent. Highly recommended. See you again soon.

If you order the veggie Patty triple check it before eating. I was ill from the 2 bites I consumed, bc it was a real beef Patty!! Vegan since 92 The one thing that has been consistent about this restaurant is that our order is never correct. Somethings always missing or added.

Have been here a few times and the beer selection and food are both good. Our servers have always been nice, and the outdoor patio section is neat and features a nice wall of jasmine. It isn't completely covered though and the benches are a little old, but it sounds like they're planning to redo it in the fall. Definitely a solid option if you're in the area.

Shane is an awesome waiter. Great service, Fantastic food and strong drinks! Loved the Asian ribs (Best ribs I have ever had) tender meat falling off the bone. Beet and arugula salad with chicken was fantastic too. Blackened Blue Burger with truffle fries was also amazing!! Can't wait to eat here again.

Our Airbnb was in the area and saw the good reviews and decided to try it out. The people are friendly and helpful with the menu. We shared the California burger and fries which was excellent. We like the vibe so much that we went back two night later and had the tomato bisque (best I've ever had) and my husband really liked his Cobb salad. Prices are reasonable'ish for the quality. Definitely the best casual pub/bar in the area.

It was getting late on a Wed night and we were running out of options for dinner. Luckily, we found MPH, which is open till 10 :) I highly recommend this restaurant. We had 2 orders of the asian style ribs and 2 salads (wedge and beet/arugula/goat cheese). Hands down the BEST asian style ribs my husband and I ever tasted ANYWHERE (from NY to Cali to China). Yes, really! The outside was slightly crisp and the rub/sauce was incredibly flavorful - a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The meat inside was fall off the bone tender and succulent - very filling. Was "WOWing" and "OMGing" throughout the meal. The salads were fresh, tasty, and went great with the ribs. We are on our boat in a local marina with no car so we ordered delivery via Uber Eats and the food tasted as if it were served to us at the restaurant - held up really well on the drive. Will definitely be ordering from MPH again and trying some of their other dishes (though I don't know if I can skip the ribs ;)

We have been here a couple of times, from Sunday Brunch to weekday lunch - every time the food was great and the service friendly and quick - definitely our "go to" burger spot on James Island. My fav is the Southern, her's the Fungi Burger. Nice portion of truffle fries as a side. One of the best beer selections in town - you can't go wrong!!!

First of all, we went in for dinner and the place was freezing inside. I didn't have a sweatshirt or jacket, and literally shivered the entire time. Our waiter was very nice. I did ask, BEFORE I ordered, if fries came with all of the sandwiches (I was in the mood for the grill cheese sandwich and tomato soup). I was told yes, as it was stated on the menu as well. When the food came, surprise, no fries. When I asked him again, he said it didn't come with that sandwich combo. ‍. I reminded him that I asked before I ordered, and was told yes. He was nice enough to put in an order for fries and didn't charge me. At least the food was good.

Staff was attentive and friendly from the second we walked in the door... Check. Cocktails and beers were solid, not watered down. Check. Food was flavorful, good portions, served hot. Check. We opted for appetizers only, splitting the mac-n-cheese, Asian ribs, and calamari...enough food for the two of us. Finished off the night with chocolate cake. Excited to put this eatery in the " thumbs up" category!!

We went here for my fiancés birthday and were completely ignored, never brought or offered new drinks, told us of birthday specials then charged us $7 for a slice of cake and we only got because we thought it was complimentary. Wont be back, very disappointed and felt ignored.

I had the barnyard burger, which came with a TON of fries. The burger was delicious! We also had the shrimp basket .... Shrimp were huge and delicious! We will be back soon!

Super fresh and delicious! I just moved here and this restaurant came up and having a BOGO free and I checked it out. I was starving with no groceries at home. The gyro was on special. It came with fries which I upgraded to the Parmesan truffle fries. It was sooo surprisingly good. I randomly GBW it a shot because of the special but was skeptical since this isn't a Mediterranean spot per se. There was the perfect balance of ingredients in the gyro and the pita was great. Decent amount of lamb. The tzatziki had a good consistency. The Parmesan fries were also good. Nothing spectacular but worth the slight upgrade from regular fries. I'll be eating from here again (hopefully in person) and will take pictures. Looking forward to trying their other options- especially their burgers and Mac and cheese. Pictures look amazing

Great food , service is amazing , this team really showed southern hospitality. Ambiance is trendy yet it looks like a clean bar , great beers too . Highly recommend if you want to knock back some beers and have some good food .

10/10 recommend! Very accommodating as we were part of a wedding party of 10 people. Drinks were great and the seafood linguini was delicious! Reasonable priced and wonderful service. Nice atmosphere as well!

I really enjoyed my meal here. Maybank Public House is a great place to go if you have a group of people that like a variety of different options, because their menu is pretty extensive. Service is always friendly and quick, and the food is top notch. Large portion sizes are always a plus too!

Ordered take out via Uber Eats! So my coworkers and I ordered from Uber eats so we never actually stepped into the location. So this review is based solely on the food. So I had the crab and corn fritters. And the BBQ burger with truffle fries! The corn fritters tasted like a party in my mouth, basically like a fancy hush puppy. Except with flavor, spices and CRAB MEAT! Delicious! Then the burger was made perfectly to the sound of medium rare. The onions were cooked in bbq sauce which was amazing, the burger didn't have actually bbq sauce in the meat. I also added crispy onions, which gave it a nice sweet and savory taste with a little crunch! And the truffle fries, yeah those were banging! Additional: I did dine in several months ago, and I loved that they have an out door area where humans can dine with their pups. I brought my dog Gracie and the staff was very accommodating and provided water bowls for my baby.

This bar has amazing food and drinks. I've never had anything bad! The fried green tomatoes are to die for. Their seasonal fall drinks are also refreshing. The atmosphere is chill and the servers/bar staff are all very kind and attentive.

Went for a burger and added a Greek Salad instead of fries...... what a mistake! The salad was doused in so much oil that it was greasy . The burger was good.

Pleasant experience with great food options! My mother and I came here for a girl's night on a busy Friday evening. Located in the same shopping center as a few other restaurants and a movie theater, their little parking lot can fill up fast! We were able to find a parking spot after a few circles around the block, and we went inside. The vibe in the restaurant is modern and fun. It would be great for a date night or drinks with friends. We were worried there was going to be a long wait with how busy the parking lot was. The hostess told us the kitchen was backed up, but we could go ahead and grab a table and order drinks. We thought this was odd, but we were glad to be seated right away. Even with her warning, we had no issues ordering once we were seated. Both of us ordered a glass of wine and a salad. I had the cobb salad, which was absolutely delicious! I literally licked the plate clean. My mom had the southwestern salad. I had a bite of it, and it was yummy as well! Both salads were large and filling. I definitely want to come back and try their burgers though. They smelled so good!

Everything we ordered was really tasty. The service was good and they accommodated a substitution without complaint. Convenient parking lot. Now if only they had a drive through or curb-side pick up!

Everyone is right - the Asian ribs are amazing. We both had fish and chips but i had the truffle fries and my husband had the Aloha fries. Both were excellent. Will be back

Sometimes all you want is a simple, unpretentious, well-run local restaurant where you can go and get something good to it. Welcome to this place. We eat here from time to time, often when we pick up a visiting friend or family member from the airport and come back into town. We live on James Island and it's nice to know Maybank is here when we need it. The menu is good for burgers, sandwiches, really good salads, fish and chips, etc. Service is prompt, friendly, and efficient. Prices are reasonable. And they have a wonderful tap room out back. You can dine there, too, or just get their brews sent into the dining room. The dining room is simple, no muss, no fuss, and acoustically fine, so you don't have to worry about noise. Even crying babies (one today) but not a problem lol. My particular fave is the mini lamb burgers. But today, the Greek salad was totally legit with clean, fresh greens, real feta, olives, and just the right amount of red onion. Let's do that! Go. I recommend.

We enjoy coming here. There is a nice server, Brian that takes great care of us. The cheese steak is our favorite!

An excellent experience! I expected more of a sports bar feel, but was very pleasantly surprised by it being a really nice and comfortable place. There are actually 2 rooms (and I believe an outside area too). We were seated in the dining room, which was tastefully decorated, comfortable and had an upscale feeling to it, without being stuffy. The other area which we popped in to see was a bar along with several hightops and TVs. Also a very nice setting. The service was perfect, attentive without being pestered. They have a great beer selection on tap. The menu had a number of good choices - something for everyone. There were a number of sandwiches, burgers and appetizers, along with a handful of nice entrees. Oh yeah, we'll be back!

Food is always good at this restaurant! Sometimes they can be overwhelmed! But usually only ona busy weekend! Ambiance in back room the best, but outside if weather permits!
