The apartment is long overdue for a remodeling. The apartment does not have any overhead lighting except for the kitchen. The living room, dining room, and bedrooms rely on lamp fixtures. There is only two outlets per room, which is difficult to manage. The bathroom is poorly contracted. Mistakes are simply painted over. For two months, the air conditioning did not work properly. It was 80+ degrees in the apartment each day during the 100+ degree June-July weather. Our electric bill was about $300, which is ridiculous. After being verbally hatecrimed by the maintenance men, they arrived. A few minutes of inspection, they gave up on the AC issue and refused to return. They decided to terminate the lease if we chose to. We were good, quiet, non-drug tenants and our issues were never fixed. The common hall is not air conditioned and reaches 90 degrees. The hall closet leaks water unto our belongings. The apartment complex was even on the news for a lack of air conditioning in most of the apartments during the hot summer. Additionally, the windows do not open, so a cool breeze is out of the question. This apartment complex deserves to be shut down for their lack of care of the tenant's safety, lack of care for the tenant's basic comforts, and lack of expected professionalism. While the location is convenient and the rent is fairly cheap, I would not recommend this apartment to my worst enemy.
