It's a large Chinese dim sum seafood place The food is so average Will not come back so many better options nearby but still not as good as some in SF I was so tempted by the lobster noodles. It's only 2.5 stars/5 The har how was the best coming in at 4stars/5 Shrimp rice roll dim sum 4/5 The yang chow fried rice3/5 Mongolian beef 2.5/5 Pea sprouts garlic very good but a bit too oily 4/5 Walnut shrimp disappointing 3/5. Too much mayo and not really good sauce Women's bathroom very clean. Pleasant

Menu has some good dishes not often found in other dim sum restaurant including suckling pig kitchen special, the pea sprouts with grapefruit peel, the rice roll with bitter melon and shredded chicken. The suckling pig is crispy, the meat is tender. Overall the special dish is ok, the dim sum is ok but not something I would return just for them. The location is excellent. The ambience and the service is good.

I recently dined at Mayflower Seafood Restaurant in San Jose. The service was satisfactory, with staff being generally attentive and polite. However, the food was just okay. While the portions were generous, the flavors didn't stand out, and some dishes felt a bit underwhelming. Overall, it's an average spot for Cantonese cuisine if you're not too particular about the food quality.

Would've been 5 stars but they don't have chili garlic and soy was in packets, food was delicious and huge portions

Sometimes, life just gets too busy to be able to prepare a Thanksgiving meal at home. And when you're a Chinese-heritage family and want high-quality foods you've grown up with, you go to Mayflower. And that's what we did. We appreciated their prix-fixe family meals at a wide range of price points--this let's you focus socializing with your family and not spend 20 minutes figuring out what to order. We had a splendid evening with wonderful food and family, and no need to clean up afterwards.

This is to remind myself not to go there again. Their dim sum is decent. But their service is awful at best. The server constantly ignores you, especially the older Chinese person, and I have strong reasons to believe that he is heavily racially biased. I used to come here frequently over the weekend for dim sum, and it used to be a fun experience at a reasonable price. But it's not that affordable anymore. They ask about tea casually like it's free like it is in most Chinese restauranta, but then you get $2 per person charge at the end. Also, I am curious how they justify charging per head even though they bring they same teapot whether there's one person at the table or six. They frequently forget orders and if asked, completely unapologetic about it. On top of that, when you already accumulated a bad taste in your mouth from the service, you get charged with a mandatory 18% service fee (for a party of two). Talk about irony.

I had a wonderful Dim Sum experience with a table of Three. I recommend ordering the black bean steamed chicken feet and durian puff pastry! I also had this plate of salted fish fried rice which was exceptionally good! Lovely service as they provide a $1.50 per person hot tea/water. Their atmosphere is great and their restrooms are top notch clean and modern!

Very good. Thr geoduck sashimi is wowowowowo. Very fresh. It is so good that i forgot to take pictures.

They don't have dim sum on carts, but once you submit your order, the food comes out pretty quickly and is hot and fresh! We ordered a variety of dim sum dishes and it was exactly what we were craving - traditional, classic dim sum. We chose our tea and was given a big pot, which only needed to be refilled once towards the end (we drink a lot of tea; and it was only the 2 of us). Food was good and pieces were decently sized (shu mai and har gow were on the larger size, which we loved!). Service is what you'd expect it to be -- minimal interaction but efficient. The restaurant itself is bigger than I expected, clean and ample seating for any size party. We got there around 1pm and it was still pretty busy. Something to note: an automatic service charge is added to your bill, so no need to tip extra. My partner overlooked this and added a tip on top of the final bill. The nice lady ran over to me as we were exiting and told us to revise it and remove the extra tip. I thought that was thoughtful and kind of her. Overall, a new dim sum go-to for us.

Mayflower used to be the Dim Sum standard, but my how far they have fallen. They have a lot of seating, but we're not cleaning the tables to seat people. There was a line of people but more dirty tables than people in line, they could have seated people quickly had they better managed the tables. The food was served warm, not hot. Once we were seated, we got a pot of tea. We asked for water and was served some after the food was delivered (so about 20 mins after we asked). Also they add a 18% gratuity (unannounced) for any party (1-10), we had two people in our party and still had the gratuity applied with no way to adjust it. I have no issue paying for good service (18+%), but the service was sub-par so the automatic gratuity was ridiculous. I'd say to skip this place if you're looking for dim sum.

Their siu mai is one of the best in the area. There are some good misses at times but usually passable. The biggest problem I usually have here is with the service. There are some amazing and very nice staff members, but there are some who either pretend they don't see you or have a massive attitude problem--case in point to follow. Today, I went to have dim sum with my family yesterday afternoon and ordered the baked BBQ pork bun. This item is notoriously hard to get, and usually out of stock. Halfway through the meal, I realized that we still haven't receive it and was planning on following up and asking about it. But in-between juggling the kids, I forgot and my husband paid without double-checking the bill. I remembered in the middle of dinner that night and decided to call the restaurant, hoping they could help. The woman who answered told me that the item was out of stock today and was already cancelled upon order, but she asked for the table number and total to double-check, which I appreciated. For the record, usually whoever puts in the order would verbally let us know when something's out of stock. The woman who put in our order today didn't (and judging by the accent, I suspect it was the same woman who answered my call). THEN came the problem...she decided to lecture me over the phone that it's the responsibility of the customer to check the order after they put the order in for us. I told her that it's the responsibility of the server to verbally notify the customer when something's out of stock, and she argued with me that the "usual process" is that the customer checks the order. After one more exchange, she actually hung up on me mid-sentence. I was in disbelief, and decided to call the restaurant back because I couldn't believe how rudely I was being treated when it was a miss on her part. Of course, the first woman got another employee to pick up the phone and when I explained to her why I'm upset, she apologized and told me that the servers will surely tell customers verbally when something isn't available for order. Look, I know I could've double-checked the order but I couldn't believe the audacity of the first woman to put all the blame on me. It'll be a long time before I come back to this place again because I've always had some small issues with the attitude of the woman who put my order in (she's often in the front, has short hair, and can speak mandarin and Cantonese), this is so appalling and I don't think I can deal with this poor level of customer service. If Mayflower actually wants to keep their customers, the manager should really figure out how to up-level the service of his staff. It's something he should invest more energy in or else the customers who actually care about being treated the way they deserve might decide to go to another seafood restaurant all together. Koi Palace is literally in the plaza right over.

Came here for a work lunch on a weekday. It wasn't that busy although we did come after lunch rush. We ordered off a paper menu and the food came in quickly. Did we order too much for 4 people? maybe. Was it worth it? Yeah. Food: Too many to list, but honestly everything was solid. Not sure I had if I could select favorites as everything was good! One that I've never had before was Layered Egg Custard Cake dessert. If you like egg custard buns, you'll probably like this like I did. Service: Similar to other dim sum places. Wokers watch from a distance if you need something, but are really quick to attend.

Came here for dinner and got Chinese dishes here! Great service. Bit pricey but solid food. Started with some salted peanuts. My favorite part of Chinese dinners. We got the soup of the day which was the soup with chicken feet in it. Forgot the canto name. Got some boiled giant surf clams which were huge and came with a sweet soy sauce and green onion oil poured on top giving it an aromatic taste. Clam tasted fresh and had different parts. The seafood glass noodle clay pot was tasty and had a slight kick to it. The pea sprout with tofu was cooked perfectly. Vegetables were soft and still had that crunch to it. Nice sauce and delicious soft tofu with crispy edges. Ended with dessert which was the grass jelly and peanut soup. Both not too sweet. The grass jelly was refreshing. Ask for their XO chili sauce! Delicious with all their plates. Spacious restaurant and can rent out parts of it. Plenty of parking here.

My mom wanted a nice family dinner together so we went to Mayflower. It wasn't too crowded on a weeknight. The service was great and very attentive. He was very polite and helpful. They do carry seafood like from Australia or Alaska. He did say, they are pricier. We stuck with local seafood. LOL. *Fishmaw soup with crabmeat. *Peking Duck with buns. *Braised Tofu with vegetables & Mushrooms. *Pea Sprouts & Ginko with bean curd skin. *Peking Spareribs - the sauce was good, but the pieces had too much bone and a little meat, which was tougher than usual. *Dungeoness Crab with Ginger Green Onions. *Steamed Whole Black Bass (Freshwater). *Steamed White Rice (not pictured) - if you have Steamed fish, you need the rice to enjoy the aromatics and sauce. The food was tasty and delicious and my mom was happy, so that is all that matters!

Short Story: A decent Chinese/dim sum restaurant in Milpitas Long Story: I've been coming here here for several years now and most of the time they do not disappoint. The place is a decent size but it does get quite busy on the weekends so be sure to get there early! I've tried all of their dim sum and lots of their entrees including roast duck, dried scallop and egg white fried rice, roasted pork, etc. The prices are a bit higher than what I expected and the portions (especially roasted duck) is a bit smaller. So I would be careful about that. However the dim sum is quite awesome! They have both a main dining area and a more private area too for smaller parties. Verdict: I'll go back!

Came on a Sunday and got to sit down immediately which was unexpected but welcome! The furniture and interior seems a little dated. However, the dim sum dishes are excellent every time I come here. From the sticky rice to chicken feet, everything is cooked very well and has me going for seconds. This is an ideal spot if you have a large group since they can accommodate parties of 12-15 with their family style tables.

I always come here for dim sum. It's so great at Mayflower that many of my family members rent out a portion of the restaurant for banquets and other events. I see many other people giving low ratings due to the service. I feel like there is a strong misunderstanding that people are unaware of. This is your traditional Cantonese/Hong Kong dim sum restaurant. You should not expect service from that of a western restaurant. If that's what you're looking for, then don't come here. You may read this and say that's not an excuse for being rude and therefore the service is bad. As someone who has been to Hong Kong multiple times, this is actually quite normal behavior and you shouldn't see it in a negative way. Ultimately, it's a gesture that isn't quite accustomed for western culture and it's best to be understanding of that. There is a reason why this place is always so busy day in and day out. The food here is good and it's not the service that people are coming in for. I give a 4/5 mainly due to the price, and I wish they had chili oil to go with some of their dishes. I've probably come here about once a month or so and will continue since it's a great experience especially with family.

Been coming here for years. They used to serve through the pushing cart style, but now you order from a sheet like most other dim sum places now. Their siu mai and har gow dumplings are larger than I remember and larger than most other dim sum places I've been too. You just have to be assertive when getting the staff's attention!

Hostess Ruined a Good Meal! A note for the business owner of Mayflower: I've dined here many times over the years, and the male waiters have always been nice and polite. Unfortunately, my last visit was ruined by the short-haired woman from Shanghai at the front desk. She was incredibly rude. I am certain she heard my question, but she chose to ignore me completely. Her behavior was unacceptable and truly hurt my feelings. We still paid our $150 bill, but left feeling very unhappy. I strongly recommend you re-evaluate this employee's role in your customer-facing team.

Good food, would've given more stars of they had chilli oil. Service was great they brought the food fast and hot, its a typical minimalist Chinese restaurant. Ambiance was simple.

I hadn't been here since I was a kid doing yum cha with my family and it's funny to see all my friend's comments about how bad their experiences once were. However, I have to say that for my friend's wedding recently, they were the absolute best in providing an amazing banquet experience. The venue was large to fit nearly 300 guests with a small area for photos and an entire dance floor. Everyone was gathering around for photos with the couple and the staff were very accommodating for all of our needs. As a vegan, I usually get a major short end of the stick when it comes to Chinese restaurants and banquet meals, but I was shocked to have 6 different dishes served to me which was more than I expected. Everything was pretty good too - definitely a lot more inventive than at other Chinese banquets I've attended in recent years. Love the use of tofu and mushrooms to really amp up my offerings. Staff were also extremely friendly and would shoot the s--- with us especially when it came to requests for more water or making space in order for the wine glasses to start getting poured. They took real good care of us, serving my friends individually depending on their dish in the massive ten-course seafood meal. Cheers to the newlyweds and thanks Mayflower for hosting an incredible wedding banquet.

I probably came here when I was younger for family dinner or wedding dinners but I don't really remember. I see that they have dim sum on the menu. I might need to come back to refresh my memory. I came here on Sunday to celebrate my grandma's bday with the family. We reserved 2 large tables for somehow managed to cram about 24 people into 2 tables. Lol. The food was pretty good. We ordered a variety of items, such as honey walnut shrimp, chow fun, fried oysters, fried rice, egg drop soup, Peking duck with bao bun, sea bass, and a glass noodle dish, etc.. Since we were a large group, 18% gratuity was added to the bill. Service was attentive and they cleaned our dishes frequently and swapped us with new plates. Overall, a decent spot!

Mayflower had been my family's go-to for dim sum for many years but we have not had dim sum together in a long time. My son was home for holiday block and one of the things he wanted to eat while home was dim sum. My parents made it happen because they are suckers for their grandchildren. My siblings and I are just chopped liver, LOL. There's cute seating for outside which wasn't there the last time we were at Mayflower. It was cold so we opted to sit inside. We arrived shortly after they had opened so we didn't have to wait and were seated right away. They don't do the carts anymore. When you are seated they give you a menu to order from. We were served water and tea. We ordered A LOT of food: Har Gar, Sui Mai, Chicken Feet, Steamed Sticky Rice, Steam Beef Tripe, Shrimp Rice Rolls, Chinese Broccoli in Oyster Sauce, Beef Chow Fun and Fried Shrimp Balls. At first I thought it was just my taste buds but my family agreed that the food was not good. The dishes were either bland or salty. No savory or in between which was a bummer for me. We couldn't finish and ended up taking a lot home. My mom ended up adding some extra seasoning which made it taste better. Service was not great but also not bad. I don't think we'd be back anytime soon. I'm going to look into other options when I'm craving dim sum.

I just realized I have not reviewed Mayflower Restaurant even though I've been dining here since they opened 20+ years ago. I feel that the quality has dipped a little since the early years but the food is still pretty good. I've attended a handful of wedding banquets held at Mayflower as they can partition off rooms and sections. For dim sum, they serve all the standard items like egg tarts, shrimp har gow, pork sui mai, chicken feet, bbq pork buns, etc. The items come out fresh and directly from the kitchen rather than the old school dim sum push carts. I've been here for dinner several times the last year. Their prices are on the higher side compared to some of the neighboring restaurants. Quality wise, it's a solid 3 stars. The restaurant does feel a bit aged and the tables are pretty close to each other. Service is good, they refilled our tea several times without us asking. Parking can be a bit tough at lunch on the weekends due to the all the other restaurants and shops at this plaza. All in all, it's still a decent place for dim sum or for dinner.

Have been coming here on and off for years and just realized I have never written a review for it. The restaurant was renovated last year and looks quite nice: more open and brighter. Tables are not too close together and the ambiance is quite pleasant and comfortable. We ordered an assortment of dim sum (shrimp dumplings, beef rice rolls, sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaves, shrimp and chive dumplings, fried taro dumplings, bean curd skin rolls, etc.), a congee with clams and meatballs, and a chow fun with egg and shrimp. Everything was rather delicious. My favorite was the congee. Service was excellent since I have known some of the waiters for a long time. Prices are reasonable by today's standards.

Old world signature style & selections, Mayflower delivers. Went for lunch and the meal as delicious, as expected.

The dumplings are all over steamed. Not worth the money. They charge 18% service fee no matter how many people. I won't come back.

This is the best place for Cantonese food in the Bay Area!! The set meals are great for family gatherings or events and come with a great selection of dishes. Super authentic, delicious Cantonese cuisine in the middle of Milpitas's Barber Lane plaza which is full of other Chinese spots and dessert options as well. The servers are friendly and fun to chat with, I love coming to this place whether it be for dinner or dim sum on the weekends!

My visits to Mayflower have been for 100 day or birthday celebrations with group sizes of 100-160 people. With a lot of large traditional Chinese banquet restaurants closing around the Bay Area, this is one of the few that are open that service the East and South Bay. While I'm not familiar with their pricing they have, they have some pretty menu sets to choose from. This location shares parking with the entire plaza and depending on the night, it can be pretty packed so be ready to circle the lot like a shark or park further away from the restaurant so you can get some steps in after your meal. From the outside, you can't tell how big the restaurant is but as you catch glimpses of it inside, they have the ability to partition it off to cater to your group or party size. One of the celebrations I went to had a few lion dancers parading through and both had enough space to put up a nice standing decor display to take photos in front of. The service was relatively quick when bringing out food to each table and would periodically check to swap out clean plates for guests. Let's talk about the food (combined visits): - BBQ combo appetizer platter: Didn't eat much, but others really enjoyed the variety (BBQ pork, Hainan chicken, jellyfish, and beef). - Roast pig with jelly fish platter: The skin was crunchy and the meat tasted good. - Stuffed crab claws: These packed good flavor and had crab meat in it. - Abalone, shrimp, and snap peas: The shrimp was tender and the snap peas were a bit undercooked, didn't try the abalone. - Fried squab: Very good flavoring, but beware of the little bones. - Abalone, black mushrooms and greens: Enjoyed the mushrooms and the greens in their dark gravy sauce. - Steamed fish: Very tender meat although there were some scales that were hard to avoid, beware of bones. - Seafood & crab meat soup: I really enjoyed this, had 2 bowls as it was flavorful and easy to eat. - Peking duck with buns: Delicious flavor, had duck meat, the skin was on point, and the buns were soft. - Lobster with ginger: A fair amount of pieces, but difficult to eat. - Longevity noodles: Usually these are bland, but this was pretty flavorful and had mushrooms and Chinese broccoli in it. - Red bean soup: Not something I tried, but others ate it with ease. - Tapioca cake: Never had this before nor have I seen this, but it wasn't my kind of thing. Very mushy, not spongey. - Sesame cookies & other dessert plates: Didn't eat it, but there was plenty to go around the table and take home at the end of the meal. Overall, the food was decent and has good variety to choose from. If you have leftovers, the restaurant will provide plenty of take out boxes to bring the food home.

Food: Short rib 5/5 Juicy and not too salty! The meat slides off the bone easily which I was really surprised about. The sauce captures all of that meaty flavor as well so it would be great over rice. Shrimp rice noodle roll 4/5 The texture for this dish is really fun to slurp(?). There's not too much flavor in the rolls themselves but the sauce is salty sweet deliciousness which means when you get to the rolls at the bottom, it's perfect because it's had time to soak up all the sauce! Clam with green onions 3/5 Green onions didn't really bring enough flavor or freshness so it tasted a a bit bland. Clay pot with mushrooms and green beans 5/5 Great deal for your money and it's super flavorful! It's stuffed full with mushrooms, meat and green onions and there are rice cakes at the bottom. The sauce on top is thick and caramelizes a bit since the pot the dish comes in is hot( do not touch!!) The meat didn't have a lot of flavor, only texture but this is remedied if you can get more of the sauce coated on it. Siu Mai 3/5 Standard siu mai. Nothing really different about this. Pork belly fried 4/5 Freshly fried pork belly- the skin is crispy and dish is very rich It comes with a side of salty beans that are great contrast. There's a thick layer of fat on each bite Definitely a dish to share! Service: Fast! Ambiance: Decorated like a typical Dim sum place! Great to bring family and friends.

Excellent banquet style Chinese restaurant. We had a 6 course meal for 4 people for our Lunar New Year dinner. All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. The honey walnut shrimp was crispy and not too sweet. The steak cubes were extremely tender and juicy. The steamed fish was huge and one of the best I've had. The service was not great and the restaurant was also quite crowded. Overall, we really enjoyed the meal and would definitely visit again.

As Dim Sum goes, it is difficult to do better. Good ingredients, generous portions, and good services. They used to be far busier, back 40 years ago. They are still busy, just no need to fight for a table anymore. I can see recovery from pandemic. Other than dim sum, the fried rice noodles 煎米粉 were particularly good. It is a dish with crispy fried rice noodles as a shell and fillings inside. They offer only one filling, minced beef with beans. No complaint from me, it was delicious. I vowed to come back from frequently, even to drive the 20 minutes.

Quality of the food is above average. Hau gau is filled with whole shrimp, not minced. Shu mai is large and not packed with low fatty pork. Just enough fat. Both was delicious. Pork belly while crispy it's a bit hard to chew. Oyster in xo sauce (chef special) was deep fried ave lacked any oyster flavor. Hard pass on these. Mandatory 18% service was unsavory. This use to be a top shelf restaurant. Judging from empty Cisco parking lots and WFH and remote I fear this is a downward spiral.

New years day! We decided to try something new we haven't tried before. Dimsum was the pick, and normally we have our go to spot, but with it being new years, let's try something new! It's been a long time since the both of us have been here. It was good to see it's still around. Plenty of parking outside. They opened an outdoor area outside which is nice to see. The restaurant is clean and looks great inside. It was quite packed when we got there but we were seated immediately. You can select what you want on the menu. There's pictures for you as well, that always helps if you're not sure what you're wanting to order. We ordered the usual; sui mai, pork spare ribs, shrimp rice rolls, pork wrapped in tofu skin, and we decided to try the salt pepper fried fish, pea sprouts & duck wings. Overall, the dim sum was okay. My fiance was not a fan at all, sadly. I'm very critical when it comes to dim sum, and this was not the worst, nor was it anywhere near the best. I really thought it was okay. The sui mai was actually good, it was a good size, packed with pack and shrimp. That's always a big plus for me. The shrimp rice rolls could've used a little more sauce, and maybe not as watered down because the sauce is the flavor. The salt and pepper fish lacked salt and pepper, which was disappointing. The duck wings were decent, nice cold dish. With the food being decent, the prices did not live up to the quality of food. I guess $7-8 dollars a plate is the norm nowadays for dim sum, and that's just for the basic plates. Any speciality plates will be 9+. The pea sprouts was $10.50 and you barely got a handful. The salt and pepper fish were the same price and you probably got 10-12 small, mini nugget pieces. For 2 people, the bill came out to be $115, for 10 dishes, and that's with tip INCLUDED. Automatic gratuity, great. Highly doubt we'll come back in the future. Times like this, we both wish we just stuck with our go to and not be so spontaneous, but now least we know..

Food, services, ambiance, and cleanliness are below average. The kitchen must be super dirty. Charged 18% service charges for doing nothing? Rediculious business. Please go else where to eat and save your times !

While the food was good, I was surprised by the way the restaurant presented the tipping. The restaurant automatically added a 18% service charge to my bill which was not clearly shown. And at the bottom of the bill, it again printed 3 lines of tip starting with 18%, then 20% and 25%. Since I didn't see the service charge already added to my bill, I added another 18% as suggested. It was only when they presented the credit card copy that I saw the 18% service charge already added. If I had not noticed, I would have given 36% for a dim sum lunch. I thought the way the service charge was not clearly shown, and the 3 additional lines of tips suggested were deceitful. If they had already added 18% service charge, they should print a line asking for additional tip, and not print 3 lines of tip starting with 18%. This is the first time I have encountered such type of bill asking for so much tip for a simple dim sum lunch.

Love dim sum here and banquet food. It can get busy, but worth it. Food comes out fresh. I like their pork ribs, crunchy shrimp, mochi beef dumplings, etc. might have to park far as the parking lot gets busy.

DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE! As a matter of fact, just don't come here if you'd like service. Came here for a wedding and it was awful from start to finish. Luckily we had amazing people with us to help in the areas the restaurant was lacking. It was like they did not want us there or we were an inconvenience. As much money as they made, we should have gotten top-tier service, but instead we got a whole lot of attitude and cold shoulders. I could write a whole novel, but let me start by saying we were told to be there at 3 for a 4:30 wedding and there were still customers eating and staff eating at the tables. When we asked questions, they kept telling us to talk to the manager, who was a jerk and kept walking away from us and hiding. Actually, one of the staff got into a shouting match with a customer while we were setting up. They were still moving tables last minute and the set up was not even what we asked for. I was a bridesmaid and was pissed for the bride and groom. Every time we needed something done, they would tell us to look for the manager who was nowhere to be found. When someone asked for ice to chill the beers, the manager responded with, "tell your guests to get it themselves." They did not vacuum or mop the floors after lunch service. They even had customers coming in and out of the restaurant (Yes, they still opened the patio portion of the restaurant to customers while a whole wedding was happening). It was a disaster and I have never had such an experience. They did not adjust the lighting when we needed them to, did not serve the food on time and was just unprofessional and crass. The food was mediocre, the basic Chinese fare, but I wouldn't come here even if their food was the best I've had. 0 stars.

The Plus: They found us seats on a super busy night (3 celebrations). The negative: The lady in the front was kinda rude. The dishes we got were canto style food. It came with a dessert at the end. We usually enjoy this place; have tried their dim sums and their dinner. Definitely hit and miss type of a restaurants. If they are busy, expect their stuff is not as good and/or slow in coming out.

Simple tradition Cantonese style Dim Sum which I like. Outside parking lot the restaurant facing a lot parking spaces.

This was by far one of the craziest dining experiences I've ever had. If I could give zero stars, I would. 1. Our waiter was completely unresponsive. We waited 15+ minutes just to get water, and even then had to flag someone else down. 2. The bowl and spoon were visibly dirty, with an actual dead bug on the spoon. Disgusting. 3. Then the waitress brought us the wrong orders. When we pointed it out, she seemed annoyed rather than apologetic. 4. The seafood had a weird, off-putting taste, definitely not fresh, and frankly, it made us question the kitchen's hygiene. 5. And just when we thought it couldn't get worse, another waitress threatened not to let us leave over a bill error that wasn't even our fault. It was honestly shocking and borderline harassment.

Our go to spot for Dim Sum in the South Bay! Gone are the days of the dim sum carts making the rounds with stale dim sum. Order from the menu and and it is served fresh and hot. Highly recommend for Sunday Dim Sum!

It's been a long time since my last visit, years ago, Mayflower carried the standard for dim sum. I feel competition has caused a lower quality here. Nonetheless dim sum is always delightful. After grocery shopping, it was lunch time. My shopping buddy and I ordered the dry garlic string beans, har gow, lotus leaf wrapped rice, fried taro dumpling,, bean curd roll and shrimp rice rolls. They came out quickly. When warm or hot they were exceptional good. So with table conversation, they got cold. The taro was barely warm but with the nicely flaky crush. Har gow had a hardy shrimp taste filled with large shrimp and thick skin. The lotus leaf rice had plenty of minced filling and half egg yolk. It was good. Lately I favor bean curd roll but on this occasion, here it was disappointing because it was not warm. The shrimp roll much like har gow ie similar it was alright, nothing special perhaps redundant on my part for ordering. Aside from the food delivery, service was not existent, no check in, follow up and had to flag service person for the check. There's an automatic 18% service charge. There was plenty of seating on a Wednesday afternoon. The food is decent. If you want traditional dim sum, this place will fit the bill.

Sunday dinner review Half of restaurant was partitioned off for private event (no acoustical separation). Rest of tables mostly filled - trend towards middle aged/seniors crowd. Ordered: 1. Sizzling beef - beef chewy, on salty side 2. Pea spout with tofu skin - fresh and light tasting 3. Rock cod clay pot - savory and little saucey. Didn't expect fish to be fried. Large portion Will be closed in April for remodeling. They're already working on permanent outdoor patio seating in front of restaurant.

Really avoid. The siu mai and fung jao were good. The creamy yolk bun not bad thought a little too sweet which it's supposed to be really. Crispy noodles too salty. Seating in the back was awkward. People running in to my chair next to the aisle. They charge 18% for service, then tax ON TOP of that. The service was terrible. You have to flag them to get their attention. They never even look your way.

Mom loved the lobster Cantonese she had been craving since her days living back east! Great, fresh dishes. Nice serving sizes!

We truly enjoy the food and services here - I am sure Asians and Americans and others appreciate and applaud this restaurant. From lunches to dinners for families or small parties to entertaining entire banquets, this place is highly recommended - Food - Quality, Ambience , Selections & Pricing all fit my needs. I noticed the food quantity & quality are constantly improving for their price to what one gets!

Not recommended, the dishes we ordered has no taste, bad quality as well, service is the worst, never go back!

Had a quick Dim Sum lunch here, so i didn't take any photos. But rest the assure the Shumai, Hargow, Scallop & Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Ribs with Black Bean Sauce, Pork XLB, and the Roasted Pork Belly's were excellent. The dumplings were good size. Very authentic. The service was good as well, they refilled ice water without being asked.

I heard a lot of comments about how great dim sum was in San Jose and was deeply disappointed when I got here. First of all, they no longer had the traditional dim sum carts that this place was known for, according to a friend. Instead, they had a colored menu where you mark the items you wanted. The food came out all at once and half of them were cold when they arrived at our table, and the other half got cold by the time we got to them. We felt rushed, having to eat super fast before everything was too cold to eat. We definitely did not enjoy our experience here at all. The worst part about the experience was the steamed egg custard buns. Normally this is a favorite item that I savor at the end. Sadly, the buns smelled like dirty wet socks. I thought that maybe it was because the bamboo basket was old so I peeled the outer layer of my bun. I took one bit and spit it out. It was the bun itself that tasted old and dirty. Definitely the nastiest steamed buns I've ever tasted!

This review is for the restaurant as a guest of a party hosted at this restaurant. I attended a family party here as a guest in a party of what must have been over 200 people. The atmosphere was good, there was a pretty much separate room towards the back of the restaurant where we all were seated. The restaurant was busy but I was extremely impressed by the service, speed, quality of food and presentation. Definitely a professional group of people were serving our party and it made it a great experience where I think everyone was very impressed. Would definitely recommend for parties and looking forward to visiting at some point for a regular meal :)

My review is for their banquet style dinner, since I came here for a friend's birthday in one of their private rooms. I haven't tried the dim sum options yet, but the dishes they served during the Chinese banquet meal were absolutely delicious! We had so many different options to try, with lots of different proteins and vegetables, and nothing was overly oily or salty (though I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who's vegan or has a seafood allergy). I liked the birds nest soup and all of the scallop/shrimp dishes the most! Our waiter was super accommodating and kept checking with us to see when they should start serving the food - and despite language barriers, everyone still had a great time and they even brought out extra desserts (the baked tapioca pudding - which I definitely ate too much of cause I love custard lol) for our large party of 20+. Overly, was very satisfied by both the food and service here, and considering how many leftovers we had they even gave us takeout boxes to bring food home haha

Having been back here for a while, foods is great and services is good this time! We came here early dinner on Friday night and it was empty but by the time we leaved it was busy. We order the set menu for 6 people for $208 without taxes and tips. It comes with 6 giant clams, soups, whole pecking duck, stream fish, veggies, crabs over noodles and desserts. It is prefect for 6 average people eater. The giants clam was fresh and good. The stream fish was fresh and light. We had left over so it was too much foods for us. The set was great since we don't have to decide what to eat.

Went here for celebration of Mothers Day. Want it to be special since mom loves dim sum. Worst decision and sad it ruined it for mom. Food was ok we been here before but today was the worse. It started with the ladies in front that check you in. Once we were seated we were not greeted so nicely like the Chinese people next to us . Very insulting. Then when the lady was setting up table we had questions on menu . She blew us off just ignore us . We try to be calm and just enjoy the time with our family. It even intensifies when at the end we had left over and we see the servers pack it up. When it was our turn they just threw the box there for us to do the work . Can you believe it they charge a 18% service automatic. Then when ask the lady to help us pack it she pretends she doesn't understand and says we can do our self . That ridiculous there's more words I can say but I won't. She the finally ask someone to do it but was not happy. I really think we were Excluded since we were not Chinese. It's sad won't be supporting this stupid business. Never will the family be coming back. Who wants to feel like nothing and discriminate. They just want bucks in the pocket but not willing to do the good service they are charging 18 % up front . Lazy workers especially the front ladies . Give you dirty looks. I'll take my business somewhere else.

The servers are so nice here, the food is as expected for a dim sum place but I do like koi palace better.
