Where to Eat Around Lake Minnetonka | Eater Twin Cities

"With a prime lakeside location and patio seating for nearly 500, Maynards is a reliable standby for a meal with a view. The crowd-pleasing menu includes sandwiches, burgers, salads, and entrees like grilled salmon and barbecued pork." - Stacy Brooks

Had an opportunity to eat here on a summer Thursday night. Amazing setting on the lake with live music outside. Inside has a larger menu. Definitely recommend reservations. I had the marine salad with jumbo shrimp and blue crab. Food is amazing. Service is excellent. This is a must visit if you are in the area.

Such a lovely atmosphere on a beautiful day. We enjoyed our dinner at the lakefront restaurant , outdoor sitting. It was my wife's birthday dinner , and she enjoyed every moment. The food was really good, and the staffs were super freindly and nice. 5 star for everything here. They have enough sitting place, i door and outdoor, which is nice. Our server Rose was awesome, a big thanks to her for her great job during the dinner. We will visit again!

Maynard's is always a fun place to hang out on a warm summer day. We decided to sit at the bar outside because any available seats were in direct sun. Plenty of seating available overall however. We placed our drink orders right away and all of the bartenders were friendly, professional and attentive. I'm kind of picky when it comes to a margarita. Not a fan of a mix and prefer something made fresh. I was not disappointed with my order here. We also opted to order an appetizer and landed on the chips with salsa and guacamole. Definitely recommend. Only downside is that the salsa and guac come in tiny containers and the only way to get extra is to place a second order. This means having more chips than needed. Please consider bigger serving dishes for your dipping items. I only gave 4 stars for atmosphere because it is a bit crowded on nicer days and parking can be somewhat of a challenge. Great place for people watching and making new friends.

Google
They hit it out of the park! The food was delicious, super fast service and a great place for a birthday dinner! Our server, Tristin, was awesome and had great suggestions. She suggested substituting rice for the steak bite appetizer and also suggested the banana pie! The nachos are topped individually with meat and cheese. Huge plate and super appetizing. The steak bite appetizer serves as a perfect entree with enough to take home for a second meal.

We love the atmosphere here. The bartenders were attentive and friendly. The food was mostly good. We enjoyed the waffle fries. The burgers are good. The walleye was good, but the last few bites of hubs' first filet were fishy. The Bloody Mary was spicy, and hubs really enjoyed that. I enjoyed the iced tea.

Google
Enjoyed dinner at Maynard’s and I’m excited to come back in the summer when it’s a little more lively. Service was great and booth was cozy. My partner and I shared the High and Humble Burger, wild rice soup and the Asian chicken salad. Would certainly get the burger and soup again. The highlight, and reason we went, was for the nachos. Individually cheesed. Going to be hard to go back to any other type of nachos order.

Google
Maynards offers a phenomenal outdoor seating ambiance. Their cheese curds are great, even by Minnesota standards. The Mango Margarita is delicious, and the menu is filled with fresh, light options. A fantastic spot for a relaxing meal with excellent food and drinks!

This place is great! Super busy on a nice day and self seat on the patio. The staff is super friendly and the food is good. Good drinks too.

Yelp
Maynard's patio/wharf overlooking Lake Minnetonka is hard to beat and a summer staple! It is a great spot to socialize with friends or coworkers. There is no reservation for the seating on the wharf so definitely get there early to secure a spot. Their wharf menu is a much more limited version of their main menu with plenty of staples. However, their wharf menu lacks vegetarian / vegan friendly items so if you have a dietary restriction be sure to look at the wharf menu prior. Their waffle fries with seasoned sour cream are a must order! They are perfectly seasoned, crispy, and delicious! In the Frannies chicken salad was also really good and much more filling than I had expected. The service was fast despite being a busy Friday summer night. I will continue to come back here for good food and fun summer vibes! I'd love to try more of the menu items that they serve indoors but not on the wharf.

Yelp
I heard of Maynard's patio and wanted to give it a try! We got to the restaurant and it was really busy (Saturday around 5 pm). We walked to the back patio and were told tables were first come first serve and the outside menu was limited to just bar food. Waiting for a table is awkward, not going to lie. You and everyone around you is looking at the same table and it feels like you're both running to see who gets it first. Definitely not my favorite way of dinning but I guess it works for them. The food, as mentioned earlier is limited to their bar menu, so it's okay! Not spectacular but will be filling and you'll have a nice view. If you're looking for a place to get drinks and hang out by the water, this is the place for you! If you're looking for great food and drinks, consider dinning in their restaurant instead of the back patio.

Yelp
Classic American restaurant right next to the lake! Came here on a Sunday afternoon and was genuinely surprised how packed the restaurant was especially because it was already so late and it feels like there's not many people living in Excelsior. - Firecracker Shrimp Tacos - Honestly the tacos were not bad although all the ingredients came together in a way that I thought it would. The tortilla unfortunately tasted like it was from Costco and all the other ingredients like the guac, salsa, etc. seemed to also come from Costco. However, I will say that the shrimp itself was very good and I loved the sauce they drizzled all over it. Also the portion size was huge as I could barely finish the 3 tacos. - Downeast Blackberry Cider - Delicious! Not sure if there was a lot of blackberry flavor to it but I like how it is has more a soda taste rather than beer. I definitely felt a bit buzzed after drinking the tall glass. Overall, not a bad place for lake views and food. Definitely recommend walking along the lake afterwards!

Yelp
Tried out Maynards for the first time on the 4th of July. The patio was great and so was the service. We had a burger and the buffalo chicken wrap with seasoned sour cream. While they were all good, I feel like going there is more about the vibe than the food!

Yelp
Maynard's patio was perfect for a Friday evening. Our inside reservation got pushed back so we opt'd for the open seating outside. The food & drinks were pretty good, nothing crazy special.

Yelp
Such a fun summer place!! You can either sit inside or outside in a bigger, more casual venue outside. I recommend getting a reservation if you want a space inside for dinner. The venue is right on the water which is really fun, and I lot of younger adults at night - the bar gets really popular. The service inside for dinner was attentive and the food was good - more of a classic American bar-ish food - we got a huge spread of food. The spicy marg was also really good. Fun spot!!

Yelp
Stopped here on my second night in Minnesota and grabbed drinks before dinner on the outside warf. It was nice weather and the lake was so pretty to look at. We then went in for dinner at our reservation time and were seated right away. For dinner I got the thai chicken bowl which was very yummy! The portions were very good and I did feel like I was getting my moneys worth! The service was a bit disappointing if Im being honest. There were a few times where I felt like the server blatantly ignored us or gave us the vibe we were a burden on them. I understand having a bad day and as a former server I get the exhaustion from a long day, but we werent really asking for much and I did feel disrespected by them ignoring us blatantly.

Yelp
Traveled all the way from Los angeles. The food was delicious, the view of the water was delightful and the service was efficient.

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in MN, with a beautiful patio overlooking lake Minnetonka. Beware, it is always busy here and outside is self-seating/no reservations! We came on a Monday night and had to do quite a bit of circling the parking lot and waiting around for a table. We were lucky enough to get both decently quickly. To drink I had the Skinny & Spicy Marg - if you like both of those things, this is perfect! Beware, it gets spicier as you drink more and more, but I loved the jalapeno flavor. For dinner I had the poke bowl, it was delicious and flavorful - the perfect fresh meal to eat on the water! My only downside was I wish it had more veggies - it needed a bit more of a crunch. Overall, I feel the price is a little high for the food options, but you can't beat their location!

Yelp
First Maynards visit of the season! The patio was sunny with a slight breeze. There was a new ordering system (at least for the early season before more staff comes back). You need to order food online via a QR code which gets delivered to your table. Drinks can be ordered at the bar or there are a few roaming servers that will take your drink order. Ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with the waffle fries and the seasoned sour cream of course! The parking lot is always packed. It was a nice perk that they had giant outdoor screens to watch the masters

Yelp
Been here a few times last summer and this summer and my opinion pretty much remains the same.. it is what it is! There is always a large crowd here but that is because of the proximity to the water and the ease of access next to the lake. Also, there is ample seating either inside or outside or even in the shade, depending on what you like. There is also some bags and yard games to play and there is a lot of space to dock your boat which is convenient. The service is always.. very ok. They take the orders quickly, the food comes in a decent time, but if you need anything else after that, might as well forget it. The drinks come at a fairly swift speed, the food is always the delay. The food is very much ok. It is not great at all, and I don't think that they have to have great food since people are going to come here regardless. And honestly, I'll be back too. All about location. I can say that the one food item I have gotten here (the cheeseburger) is pretty dang good, almost not complaints there.

Yelp
Great food. Friendly service. Fun atmosphere! Nice local restaurant. My husband loved his rib-eye steak. Drinks were not watered down. Good wine.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to eat during a Minnesota summer. The outside is seat yourself, we got there at 8 on a Friday night and found a spot right by the water. I ordered the cheeseburger and subbed for the waffle fries with seasoned sour cream for an extra $3.95. The food was great, I love their waffle fries.
google avatar

Yelp
I've only ever come here to eat outside, not inside. You definitely go here for the atmosphere and being on/near the lake, not necessarily the food. It's overall decent food but a high price - I paid $13 for chips with one 2oz container of salsa and one 2oz container of Guacamole. My friend enjoyed the crispy salmon bowl and said it was tasty but nothing overly impressive. Service was good! I wouldn't recommend it as a place you go for a quick bite, so service is more laid back as they know people tend to stay a while. Overall I recommend for a fun night with friends or family. Every other Wednesday in the summer there is "Excelsior Concerts in the Commons" which is only about a 5 minute walk from Maynard's. I suggest doing both!
google avatar

Ellie B.

Yelp
Super fun place to go with friends and/or family! Great drinks, great food, and even better views. I had a bootleg and a bloody mary which were both great. We had cheese curds and chips and salsa as an appetizer which were both solid. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with waffle fries which was good. I wanted to order the buffalo chicken wrap without cheese but they apparently cannot customize the wraps which I thought was a little weird. Will definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed one of the first warm spring afternoons outside on the Maynard's Wharf. The deck is big and sunny! Super welcoming and relaxing. You can sit at the bar or at a selection of many different sizes of tables. We weren't sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves but one of the waitresses saw us and said, grab a seat wherever and we'll come find you! So we did! She came right over with menus and took our drink orders and came right back quickly with those, lots to choose from pretty typical of a Minnesota patio bar. The menu was fun with safe choices like burgers, tacos, salads and such. We ordered some buffalo wings and some chips & guacamole. The food was good, but not noteworthy in any way, a bit expensive, which we expected. Sitting on the water, in the sun, having good food, and a nice afternoon outside is worth it though!
google avatar

Maddy L.

Yelp
Great views of the water. The food has continued to get better over the years as has the service. The patio is great and the outdoor bar is good for boat days. Always like a good beer at Maynards.

Yelp
Getting here should be a review on its own. There was a line of cars circling the parking lot as of they were sharks trying to catch the last seal for dinner. The street parking was full and so was all the other spots in the whole city that were within half mile. I ended up parking half mile away down a residential street because over 30 minutes driving around was getting frustrating. Once I got there we were sitting outside and well outside menu is very very slim unless you like sour beers and bar food. I tried to get a cheeseburger buy they said the temperature was set and they were all medium rare. The burgers looked more on the well done side. I got a wrap and it was good. The service was amazing and I think not having more options outside hurts the servers since the servers tell you that you need to go inside and get it. The place was packed it was like every one was there. Lots of kids under 21 and your typical older crowd. The weather was perfect. Overall the restaurant was great..

Yelp
Over the enjoyable weekend we went out with friends on the lake to absorb some of the rays and get our dose of Vitamin D. While on the lake we sure did build up an appetite that only a great lakeside restaurant can satisfy. With that, we docked up at Maynards for some beers and eats! Deschutes Fresh Squeezed: To drink I ordered myself a good ol' Fresh Squeezed. This beer holds a special place in my heart as its one of the first beers that made me love craft beer. The big helping of Citra and Mosaic hops really makes the tropical juice and citrus flavors just pop that goes so well with sitting outside next to the lake. Cranberry Wild Rice Melt: To eat, I was extremely intrigued by the Cranberry Wild Rice Melt and decided to go for it. Given, I am a sucker for a good club, turkey sandwich, or other pressed sandwiches / panini. Don't get me wrong, I love a good burger or fried chicken sammy, but sometimes you want something a little different. This melt had slices of turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, tomato, cranberry aioli all on a cranberry wild rice bread. I was amazed by this bread and honestly I think it was the star of the show that brought together a supporting cast of other great flavors from the meats to the melty cheese to the tangy fatty cranberry aioli. For a side I upgraded to waffle fries with of course the seasoned sour cream. A great lake side mainstay that if you are out enjoying the sun, you need to stop by.

Yelp
Maynard's has quickly become my favorite patio in the Twin Cities. It's super versatile, from the "going out" crowd on a Saturday night to a family dinner stop on the boat, to grabbing a drink and playing bags by the docks. Drinks are great, service is perfect, tons of seating, food comes out pretty fast, and overall a perfect place to meet up in the summer!
google avatar

Yelp
Had an absolute blast here! We had a really large group and we were running late and they were nice enough to hold our reservation for us. Once seated inside, our server, who was super friendly and helpful, came quickly and took our drink orders. Drinks came out fast, as did the food. I ordered the Cranberry Wild Rice Melt with a house salad. The sandwich was SO good. Refreshing and satiating. Highly recommend getting it! The house salad was fine enough, but they really should let customers know it comes LOADED with olives, which is a weird choice for a house salad. After dinner, we went outside to hang out. It was PACKED, but thankfully we were able to get a table. The servers out here moved really quickly and got our drinks really fast. The bartenders were equally as quick. Later on we ordered chicken strips and waffle fries. Chicken strips were very standard, but the waffle fries were delicious! Had a great amount of seasoning and they were very crispy! Overall it was a super fun and good experience with good food. We'll be back for sure!

Yelp
I had a horrible experience dining at Maynard's for the first time. The service was terrible. Our waitress was visibly annoyed and perturbed by tending to our table. It reached a point where 2x during the meal we had to flag down other employees. One of which was a manager. There was no apology or acknowledgment of her horrible customer service. We were the only black women in the room so maybe that is why we were treated so horribly.. Will never dine here again. Food was extremely mid. Applebees is higher quality that Maynard's service for other tables included multiple staff members bringing the food all at once for the table. In my experience, our waitress walked back and forth and back and forth carrying 2 plates at a time. There was no assistance and staff teamwork when it came to our table. The cherry on top was when the birthday girl received her ice cream Sunday and only brought 1 spoon for 8 people. Very disingenuous and condescending waitress. Will never ever attend this restaurant. POC beware
google avatar

Matthew S.

Yelp
Can you say overrated! The bar staff is more concerned with what's going on in each others than serving customer. The walleye sandwich was barely edible with cheese slices you buy at the grocery store that are the cheapest. I've been here before and loved it. The patio is spacious and great on a Minnesota summer afternoon. But don't wait for a drink or eat the food as it's over priced, you don't get what you pay for. $40.78 for two drinks and a bad fish sandwich! $48.78 total and not happy! NEXT!

Yelp
On a beautiful Sunday night I decided to give this place a try! Let me help you navigate what is: The Maynard's experience! Haha First, this place is huge!! There is a parking lot and also street parking. If you have a boat, you can pull right up to the dock as well! Where to sit?? If you want to sit inside, go to the host desk when you walk in the front doors. Outdoor seating is seat yourself. If you sit in the inner portion by the main bar, there are servers. If you sit over by the bags(corn hole) area, you order from your phone and then pick it up in the front door area. This is what we did. If you want to play bags, go to the host desk and give them your ID to get the bags. There are multiple places to get alcohol but if you are on the "order on your phone" side, you will need to go to the main bar to get anything nonalcoholic. The main bar is in the center outside. The service here was very good. While we didn't have a server we did interact with 2 different hostess and a bartender. Everyone was very friendly! You can't beat the outdoor, boats, lake, lights, flowers just the perfect summer place vibes here! The food was average. Nothing to rave about except the key lime pie, that was very good and had an excellent texture! Overall I would attempt to come here during a less busy time, but it was a total blast!!
google avatar

Howard L.

Yelp
The wharf! The wharf! Great service staff. Awesome summer vibe. Burgers are great. The Nashville hot sauce is not Minnesota Nice. Perfect heat. People watching always great. Sit at the bar if you can.
google avatar

Allie M.

Yelp
Food 3/5 - This was my first time eating here and it was below average bar food. The steak bites were very tough and dry and the burger was over cooked. The Cobb salad was pleasantly nice but I was starving. Service / Ambiance 3/5 - It was a packed Friday night, luckily we made reservations. Our waiter was overwhelmed with tables and lacked filling up drinks and coming to check on us within a timely manner. All and all would not go back for dinner, more of a "get off the boat" for snacks and drinks type of place.
google avatar

Kelly U.

Yelp
Rare to find a time to be able to walk in here, very popular spot even when the lake is frozen over. Ten minute wait after a difficult time to find a parking spot. Menu is big, lots of choices for starters and entrees. Servers were probably too busy but did their best to serve with a smile and friendly comment. They apparently do take reservations, Di set a time and give Maynard's a shot. The view is to die for, even in the winter... I'll bet it's wild here during the fog sled races this weekend!
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
Maynards was a nice experience on a lovely day. We visited as a first stop before our little lake cruise for my sister's bachelorette party. I think that as a whole, it left a little bit to be desired. The space itself was nice with a good view of the lake, but was much emptier than I would have expected for a Friday. Some of us ordered food and it was pretty yummy. Some of it better than others. The buffalo wrap was great and I highly recommend that! Unfortunately our servers weren't very nice. They were super young and I'm not sure if they were just stressed or annoyed but they weren't very warm to us and at one point I tried to help one of them set a drink down because it was spilling and she told me that I was unhelpful...I'll definitely chalk it up to age, but it was a bit sad. This also isn't the fault of the servers, but there were SO MANY BEES all over the trash can near us. I hope they can get that under control!
google avatar

Colin O.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. We came with a large group. Accompanied with a few rambunctious kids. Were sat in a very nice location in the added on room off the lake. Turned into a four season with radiant heaters above head. It was exceptionally nice to have a large group, because you are able to try everything on the menu! Pork chops, pasta, steak wrap, buffalo wings. You name it, they have it. And it was all delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
Went to Maynard's to sit on the water and enjoy a Sunday lunch with my boyfriend. Valued the amount of outdoor seating, even into October, and found a spot at the outdoor bar. The Wharf menu has a variety of options. I got the Water Taxi which was delicious, then ordered the Crispy Chicken Sandwich- the chicken breast was flavorful and a good amount of meat. Discouraged by the amount of up charges: Waffle fries, seasoned sour cream, and Nashville Hot Sauce.
google avatar

Carli S.

Yelp
I had an amazing time at Maynards. We sat outside on the wharf where there are no reservations. Luckily we arrived right as another table was getting up. There's a hug bar to grab a drink at if you are waiting for a table. The service was great. The staff were friendly and helpful in answering questions about dietary restrictions. The food was amazing! This place looks like a casual restaurant but the food was high end and fresh. We ordered some chips and salsa and guacamole and it was delicious and an order of the seasoned waffle fries. The seasoned sour cream sauce was perfection. I got the crispy salmon bowl for my meal it was amazing. A huge piece of fish and lots of fresh ingredients. To drink we had the spicy skinny margarita and i would definitely get it again. There is a lot of parking but the lot was full so we had to park a little far away. But we got in a nice walk on a beautiful day. Highly recommend exploring the town after or before your meal!
google avatar

Tess H.

Yelp
Went to Maynard's on a Monday afternoon to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Took a couple minutes but secured a seat outside, great patio! Busy busy but staff were great! They brought large waters out which was appreciated and the drinks were good. We were disappointed by the very limited menu on the patio but made it work. My boyfriend had heard about the fish for a while and been wanting to try it, unfortunately the bread seemed like store bought bread and the fish was thin and soggy. We expected a crispy fish and better bun. The cheese was also just sub par, almost like American cheese slices that come in plastic wrap. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. The waffle fries and seasoned sour cream was delicious! And oh my...the chicken strips were PERFECT and quite literally the best chicken strips I've ever tasted. Would come back for those many times! Overall, pretty good food, good drinks, and fun environment! Only other complaint was we asked for what they did for birthdays as it was my boyfriends birthday and reason we were there. They said nothing for outside. Little bummed they didn't do a drink or dessert but oh well. Highly recommend checking out in summer sometime!
google avatar

Yelp
We've all had our fair share of Maynard's experiences, the good, the bad, the great & the ugly. All-in-all, it's one of those must-go MN summer staples for all. Every summer it gets a little more different with a few menu switches. This summer was one of those changes to the most classic fries on the planet. I'm upset to say that my past two visits consisted of two types of fries: one entirely plain without a dash of seasoning, the next loaded with enough black pepper I could feel a sneeze coming from a mile away. Even the seasoned sour cream doesn't taste the same. I'm not sure what's going on here with the chefs, management, etc. but the fries were the easiest win that have now become their biggest loss. All meals there are decent outside but nothing special and coupled with the crazy prices, hard to justify when all you want is a good ole basked of fries.
google avatar

Andrew T.

Yelp
Was really excited to visit this lakeside restaurant, honestly was a bit disappointed at the food. It was so crowded and even with a reservation it felt like there were way too many people inside and outside, probably because it was a sunny summer evening. Probably a better spot for a happy hour or a large gathering, but I wouldn't come here if you were looking to have a decent conversation over a meal. Service was a bit slow but totally understandable because of how crowded it was. Something to note is that there is a different menu for the outside patio and indoor restaurant.
google avatar

Adam F.

Yelp
Come for the views, stay for the views. Food was solid, and bartenders were friendly. But nothing beats this spot on a beautiful day.
google avatar

Amy P.

Yelp
This is a beautiful location right off of the lake. Highly recommend sitting outside when weather permits. They don't have a huge menu so I just went with the chicken strips and waffle fries. We also ordered some drinks- keep in mind they have a two shot limit. Reasonably priced, maybe a little high but the location is nice so it makes sense. I'd go back for drinks but the food wasn't super impressive to me.
google avatar

Dan T.

Yelp
A great little spot on Lake Minnetonka! You can take your boat here if that's an option for you! Extensive food and drink menu. Our table ordered the cheese balls, walleye fingers, and chips and salsa as appetizers. For an entree I chose the shrimp tacos. The place was packed. A couple open tables near the bar. A full parking lot with cars spilling out onto the bordering streets. Our server did a fantastic job. It was obvious she was juggling parties in addition to our six. There was a bit of a wait between components of the meal, but given the crowd it was not out of line, was expected, and easily forgiven. Great food and good service!

Anne E.

Yelp
Generous pour of Cab was great! 5:00 reservations but had to sit inside. Ahi Tuna Bowl was delicious.
google avatar

Darren L.

Yelp
Had a blast at Maynard's! It was very, very difficult to get parking at 5pm on a Saturday, but once we found a spot and got to our table, the service was great. I ordered the High & Humble burger- with waffle fries. The burger was delicious and tasted just like a Parlour burger. Fries came with seasoned sour cream (yum) Would definitely go back! I recommend getting a reservation for indoors unless you want to try your luck with a table outside by the dock
google avatar

Kris P.

Yelp
Well all I heard from friends was to have walleye at maynards. Location and service is outstanding but for a 24.00 sandwich w fries which were awesome, the walleye was not seasoned at all. A little salt and pepper goes a long way. Plus the filet was shorter than the bun! Come on man. Like i said service and the view and music were outstanding.

D J.

Yelp
The service is fast and friendly. Food was quick and delish. Great place to meet up with friends to catch up or watch a game.

Yelp
Maynard's is in a prime location right on the shore of Lake Minnetonka, which gives it awesome views while you're eating dinner. They have a nice outdoor patio area too that is nice in the warm weather. They have the vibe of a sports bar mixed with a lakeside restaurant. It's usually pretty busy so a reservation is highly recommended. Their menu is decent. - lot of fried foods, burgers, salads, etc. I went for the walleye sandwich (I try and get walleye anywhere I can around MN) it was pretty good but nothing to write home about. It was served with a mountain of fries that were also good but nothing super special. It's definitely a place known for the ambiance of being on the water, while the food is just alright.

Yelp
It's almost impossible to describe the patio atmosphere. One helper said "it's always a party there." That might be the most accurate description. We had to eat inside because my husband wanted walleye and it's not offered on the patio except in a sandwich. After dinner we stepped out on the patio and indeed it was a party. It was like stepping into a screen in a movie. You could feel the energy. The patio is open seating and sometimes it's difficult to get a table. We were there on. Wednesday at 6:30. There were tables available then, but alas, we had to sit inside to get the walleye. Superb cocktails at good prices. The walleye was outstanding. My husband got pan fried walleye and I got fish and chips. We both liked mine better. Good food and good prices.

Yelp
Fun experience. Thoroughly enjoyed their outdoor deck area. Room for larger family lunches!

Yelp
Maynards is always a good time. This is a cute Lakeside restaurant in Excelsior and it's very popular in the summer and warmer months. The waffle fries with the season sour cream are to die for and they have a really good flavorful drinks. The burger was also really good and they have great sandwiches, buffalo wings, salads and rice bowls. I highly recommend the spot if you are looking for a nice Lakeside restaurant.

Yelp
Y'all... these are THE BEST nachos in Minnesota! These nachos are INDIVIDUALLY NACHO'D. By that I mean each chip is carefully & individually covered in ooey-gooey cheese and beef, leaving no chip left out or without toppings. With all the fixings on the side, these truly are the best loaded beef nachos I've ever tasted. When you visit Maynard's, you also have to try their waffle fries. My high school tennis team used to stop here on the way home from matches specifically to enjoy the waffle fries & a waterfront view! The burgers are spot-on, and even the more delicate entrees like glazed salmon, pan-fried walleye, and lobster Mac & cheese hold their own. I highly recommend making the trek to Maynards, especially in the summer!

Yelp
After a day of boating on Lake Minnetonka last weekend, we stopped at one of my all time favorite spots, Maynard's in Excelsior! They serve up some of my favorite Wings around town, The Buffalo Wings. The Wings are always juicy and flavorful. I paired them up with one of their new summer drinks, The Bourbon Peach Iced Tea. The Warf has an awesome vibe and the service is always excellent! * Buffalo Wings- Served with celery & bleu cheese. * Bourbon Peach Iced Tea- Bulleit bourbon, craft peach liquer, and iced tea.

Yelp
Maynard's did not disappoint! The service was friendly, fast and the food was tasty! I had the firecracker shrimp tacos and I loved how all of the flavors came together! We went on a day with really nice weather and my kids loved hanging out outside and playing bag toss by the water!

Yelp
Why do they take reservations online, when you arrive they had you a pager? Is the an airline overbooking or the hostess ha shit for brains! 20 minutes later still holding the pager.
