The 14 Best Restaurants And Bars In Downtown Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"If you go to the tunnels for lunch, having a specific destination in mind is best. We usually land at Mayuri Express, an Indian restaurant with speedy service. Meals here are packed into styrofoam trays, assembly-line style, and around the cafeteria, you’ll see people tearing into steaming veggie samosas and hoveling butter chicken and lamb biryani by the forkful. Swing by Mayuri Express for a quick lunch downtown, and be sure to grab some extra naan bread." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

Went for lunch on a weekday last week and there was a long, fast-moving line which was a great sign. The wait was very short and the staff serving the food were very friendly and quick. The butter chicken was affordable at less than $12 I believe. I also got a mango lassi drink and everything was delicious. I was extremely happy to try this amazing spot and I look forward to returning!

This Mayuri is located within the Tunnels and I have only went here during lunch hour and all though the line is always long, the service is quick! This may be due to their portion sizes and great lunch specials. My go-to choice is the Chicken Biryani and my wife’s is the paneer curry 🍛 both are tasty and filling. Only complaint I would have is that they’re always out of Chicken 65, but I’m also at fault for only asking during rush lunch hour. Pricing is on point and there is adequate seating to grub.

They deliver food with good quantity as well as quality in downtown area under tunnel. I bought chilli chicken dosa for $10.99 and they provide very good quantity of chilli chicken with sambar and two chutneys, also Dosa is very big size

Excellent and tasty food, the plate filled out full rice when you ordered biryani, it's very hot and spicy

This is my go-to lunch spot. Simply good with very mild spices and especially great for daily meals. Biryani is Decent ⭐️⭐️⭐️, chicken combo is also good ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Suggestion : They serve chicken 65 with Dosa . But there is no option to get chicken65 on the side as an appetizer or as a biryani . Would really appreciate if you can bring it in as an appetizer or in a biryani version. Goat curry needs improvement . Always served with lots of bones.

Best Indian restaurant in the tunnels, but dont expect variety. If you go to an Indian restaurant you expect a thousand curries and meats, this place is only open a few hours so they only have a few dishes. But those dishes are more than enough to make everyone happy and they are super good! You get a curry with meat or a vegan option. Rice, vegetables and naan for under $12. You can't beat that. But, because the food is really good and the value unmatched, expect to wait in a long line, sometimes 20 people deep and growing.

This place was a very happy find in the tunnels, and definitely worth the hike from my office. I got the chicken chili dosa, having never had a dosa before. It was delicious, and I really like that it was made to order. The chicken itself wasn't amazeballs, but it was very tasty and the sauces it came with were incredibly flavorful and complemented the chicken wonderfully. I would definitely go back.

It is an Indian cousin fast food restaurant. I believe it caters to the office going Indian community in the downtown Houston.
