The 38 Best Restaurants in New Delhi, India | Eater

"Price Range: $$ Afghan immigrants have carved a corner for themselves in Lajpat Nagar, one of Delhi’s most thriving neighborhoods and home to some of the city’s best street food. There, Mazaar strives to replicate Kabul cuisine for Delhi customers. Get the borani banjan, a stewy dish made from eggplant and tomatoes, or the chellow kebab, chicken lightly spiced and marinated in lemon and yogurt, served with rice. You can also enjoy unlimited cups of green tea and Afghan naan, searing red and patterned from the oven, to be eaten with sides or topped with butter as a snack. Must-try dish: Look for sheer yakh, cold yogurt topped with pomegranate seeds from the mountains of Afghanistan, which occasionally appears." - Sharanya Deepak

We ordered Uzbeki Pulao, Hummus with lamb and Jujeh Kebab and 2 tall bottles of lassi. The dishes were well cooked and served with rice that was fragrant , moist and very well cooked. The lamb was soft and melt in the mouth. The Afghan servers were very polite and the owner is a young Sikh man who has lived in Iran for 25 years. It was my first time sitting in sitting enclosures by taking the shoes off in a relaxed atmosphere. The ambience is good and the Persian,Iranian food is yummy. The food is authentic hence bland and should not be compared with Indian spicy cuisine.Me and my office colleagues lived the hospitality and taste. There is ample parking outside and they accept all kinds of payment.

At some level we can say their food are authentic but not so tasty. I have ordered Kabuli uzbeki, motton tikka aur roasted chicken but the taste of all items were not so tasty.

Value for money 💰, the taste on spot I tried it after a gap of 3 to 4 years still the quality and quantity is same. Must try experience as the Afghani food does not have contain spices and is an amazing experience to get

Really good experience at Mazaar Restaurant. Afghan food was 10/10 and authentic as it is prepared by Afghans themselves. Pro tip: Consider visiting on weekdays as weekends are almost full and you have to wait for your turn for minimum 30mins in the que because the restaurant size is small and they have limited seats. Service: Its good and the staff is kind too. Food: Don't imagine the food to be spicy like our Indian dishes. If you're meat lover, you can enjoy the taste with minimum spices and rich flavours. Recommended: Grilled Chicken (well marinated with spices), Qabli Uzbeki Pulav, Mutton chopan kabab, Sheer Yakh (traditional afghan ice cream)

Wow, a place to feel Afghani food right in middle of Delhi. A less spiced , well cooked meat and the smell of breads just make it something special. Eat like afghanis or choose your table. You will love it. A must visit when you are around Lajpat nagar in Delhi.

recently visited Mazaar restaurant and I must say, it’s more than just a place to eat — it’s an experience. From the moment you step in, the ambience welcomes you with warm lighting, tasteful décor, and a cozy yet vibrant atmosphere. The staff was incredibly polite, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The service was prompt without being rushed, and every dish was served with a smile. As for the food — absolutely delightful! Every item we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food, lovely ambience, and genuinely good vibes.
