12 Hardcore Portland-Area Brewpubs | Eater Portland

"Mazama Brewing hails from Corvallis, and its newest Hillsboro taproom, located in the trendy Orenco Station shopping complex, has been open less than a year. Like other newer brewpubs, it’s bright and clean, flushed with natural light. What sets it apart from the others is the sophisticated brunch menu that can easily contend with any other in the area. The meal starts out with complimentary house-made warm doughnuts tossed in sugar, and from there expands into dishes like fried chicken eggs Benedict topped with smoked paprika, or the squash-and-duck chorizo hash. These brunch heavy-hitters pair well with “beermosas” (swap the orange juice for Mazama’s sour ale) and the Mazama saison, respectively." - Ron Scott

One of my favorite spots that I've found in the area. I'm a sucker for Belgian beers and this place does not disappoint. The Blonde is one of my all time favorites, but the other options are no slouch; there's something for everyone and they have new/seasonal beers regularly. The food is delicious, with a nice variety, and fairly priced. The brunch is the best I've found since moving to the area several years ago; many traditional options along with creative variations, weekly specials, and special drink options including bottomless Mimosas for those that don't want to remember how good the food is. The staff is very friendly, as far as I can tell Cathy runs the place and she is an expert on the various beers and happy to answer any questions. Plenty of seating despite the small footprint; including individual tables, a communal table, a couple bars, and an outdoor patio with seating for the warmer weather.

Google
The place serves up some decent burgers and pretty good Pretzel. The prices were not bad and they had a decent selection of beer. I think their brunch menu offers a wider variety than dinner but I would recommend visiting either time of day.

We ordered the pancake breakfast, eggs scrambled, a side of poratoes, and a memosa and a beer. The potatoes were burnt, greasy shavings. The eggs were under cooked and greasy, and the memosa was a small pour for $10. I want to like this place, but this was the last straw.

So annoyed. Checked in with the host and I let him know I can’t bring my puppy in but can I sit outside and he said yes and he would be right with me. Went outside and waited 40 minutes and kept getting skipped and others had drink and food orders, who came in long after me. I mentioned to the waitress all that I wanted was a coffee, she wasn’t the owner, she’s nice, it was an older woman with gray hair and a bit of black in it, who treated me super poorly and gave such an attitude saying “its going to be a minute.” I waited longer and finally asked the guy again and let him know I’ve keep being forgotten, he said okay I’ll enter the coffee, nothing else? No that’s it, all I wanted is a coffee with cream and sugar. He puts it in and the woman with an attitude came out and set it down, black, no cream and sugar and left before I could ask for it. I definitely feel like she was rude because I asked to be helped. Can’t stress this enough, I was there for over 40 minutes and kept getting skipped while other people were served. I absolutely NEVER complain, and I didn’t tell the manager either because I could tell she was doing other things. But I will go to Ava across the street from now on, because a drip coffee takes literally a minute to make. It’s a shame, I’ve met other good waitresses from Mazama but this staff was not good today. Hope no one else will be treated that way or I’m sure they will lose business.

I cannot begin to tell you how happy I am to have discovered this absolute gemstone. I go here with a work buddy of mine on our lunch hour, and I have never been disappointed. My two favorite items on the menu are the fried chicken sandwich, and then the bacon jam burger. Both delectable and unique to other restaurants! The fries…probably my favorite battered fries literally anywhere I’ve ever been. The beer menu is always excellent and full of great choices. And they always have specials going on in both food AND beer. Most recent special was the steak and frites (steam and fries). Steak was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare, exactly how I asked for it. And the fries were the perfect compliment. Here’s a trick: there is a parking garage directly behind the brewery under the apartment building. You need to go to the meter to get a pass for your dashboard, but the first two hours are FREE! That means plenty of parking! If you are looking for amazing American food done super well and elevated above the classics, this is the place to go. The staff always goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need, and have always been attentive and have been able to answer every question I throw their way. They’ve even gone out of the way to make suggestions for improvements to what I’ve been ordering and haven’t failed me even once. I hear they have weekend brunch. I am excited to try and will update my review once I get around to going!

Time and time again, this gem never disappoints. Their brunch is absolutely slept on and is by far the best in Orenco Station. Their dinner menu is also amazing. They have a vast selection of local beer/ales, and delicious cocktails. Giant Delicious Pancakes, veggie omelette, fish & chips, bacon jam burger, Bavarian pretzel in photos attached!!

This Whites only bar should have a good signage to discourage other ethnicities, so I strayed in by accident. Having sponsored multiple team events at Mazama and having actively recommensed colleagues to this location, going to the extent of bringing them over, like I did today, I didnt think I'd say this about Mazama. But Dont come here if you are South Asian. I thought I could identify with the owner, given her background in tech, just like myself and her stories of struggles from Corvallis to Hillsboro. But things changed at our latest visit and I feel more betrayed than angry I took a colleague for a beer and snacks to Mazama, since he has never been there and was leaving Hillsboro. I was stupid to think Mazama was the correct choice of last place for him. We picked a seat outside and offered to pay for the beer upfront. Given we also ordered some food, the bar tender noted that its better to pay later, and I acquiesced. But then the owner stepped in quite abruptly and dryly commented: "just dont get drunk so much that you leave without paying". It was uncalled for! I was stunned but laughed it off. However my colleague was disgusted and exclaimed outside that it was very rude and borderline racist and asked me why i still stayed on after that kind of insult. The fact that another person also noticed how nasty the event was made me realize that i didnt read things wrong. Anyway we finished the meal, paid for the food and left never to return or recommend this place again. Given the renewed rise in hate against south asians and in general anyone not looking right, it makes sense that people would enjoy taking these cheapshots when they know the system empowers them to be racist, but you do feel betrayed when people taking these cheapshots turn out to be ones you thought were good people.

While looking for a nice sit-in place I stumbled across Mazama. It had great reviews and a nice looking menu. I convinced my friend to give it a try over BJs and copper river. We both found it to be the better establishment. The food is fantastic, the service is great and the atmosphere is lovely.

Yelp
Nice place for a tasty brunch in a cozy &calm atmosphere on the weekends. Friendly staff with decent price. Best part is there was no wait time. Will definitely revisit and recommend to friends. Must try the chocolate martini

Yelp
Unexpectedly amazing food. I did not have high expectations for how quality their food was but, it blew me away. We got the burger, reuben, and fried pickles. Fried pickles were tasty but would have preferred small slivers because the fried casing quickly fell apart as we ate them and they had a similar temperature to the surface of the sun so they were quite difficult to eat. The burger- they knocked out of the park, everything was fresh and the whole thing was the perfect size. I always appreciate when beer places have salad as a side option. The reuben was tasty but lacked any substantial meat, it had a very thin layer of meat which left us wanting more. The beer was relatively well priced and was super great! The service was probably the most eh thing about this spot, it was order at the host stand kind of deal but sometimes she would come around to tables and take orders so we were confused. We spent over two hours here because of this confusion and the servers inability to communicate directly how it worked but she was too busy helping others to even take our order. Nonetheless, they were kind and the weird system was not their fault. Maybe it was a one time fluke! This is a great place to enjoy the weather and people watch at Orenco Station. Seems like they have game nights and specials making it a a grand hangout spot.

Yelp
I want to love Mazama... but so far I just don't. They get really busy so they must be doing something right for a lot of people, and I don't entirely disagree. The food is good, in a salty greasy craveable but tummyache-inducing way. Which is sometimes what you want, right? I just know both times I've eaten there, I've felt like I needed a shower and some vinegar. Heavy hard-to-digest food that tastes good for the first two bites and then you have big regrets.... Beer selection is okay, could have more variety. Service is okay, nothing special. Yeah, a solid 3 stars for me, wishing it was just a little better....

Yelp
So far Mazama has been hitting all the marks! It has very quickly become a regular stop during or after a busy week. I've made my way through several of the food items on the menu and each one was really good. They have a decent burger and Bloody Mary too! The beer is delicious, local and worth a taste of you haven't had the pleasure. When I think of a fun local spot with great view and atmosphere I end up here. Plenty of space and not too loud. I like to sit at the bar overlooking the plaza in the evening, especially when it's rainy outside. It has a cozy fun feel that I haven't found in a lot of other places. You could sit and watch the Orenco Station hustle and bustle from your warm seat while unwinding from a long day with a cold drink and warm snack. Glad to have found Mazama and I'll be here regularly. Thanks Mazama!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday for breakfast. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The food was mediocre. I got eggs and bacon. The egg was undercooked the bacon was ok and the toast was not good. Maybe they were having a bad day? It was slow so who knows. Might go back and try something non breakfast and review again. Location is good and they do have outside seating if it's nice out.

Yelp
It's in a really cute development of apartments and townhomes and shopping right there. There's a really nice patio area and that's where we sat since we had the dog with us. On a hot summer day in OR, it was perfect. Don't let the counter service fool you - this place has really great food. It's a smaller menu, but what they do have is done well. The fried pickles are good, but I am nursing my palate behind my front teeth because they were nuclear (temp) hot. I had the Sweet Potato Sandwich (add grilled chicken) and holy crap it was delicious. While it could have had a bit more arugula, it was probably one of the most inventive things I've ever had, and they were pretty accommodating with the meat addition. We also had the bacon jam burger which is very good but messy, and a large salad with chicken. I think my dinner won, but overall it was a nice meal. The beer is very different from upper Washington, where most of my beer drinking occurs. There are your requisite IPAs, but they had four (count 'em, FOUR) Belgians on the menu. That never happens! I got the dubbel, which was the darkest beer on the menu - no stouts or porters here - and while it was pretty high ABV, it was one of the lightest I've ever had. I was also able to try the amber and the pilsner, which were both very thirst quenching in the 88* heat. Service is pretty good - they don't rush you and when we asked for something it came out fairly quickly. Go and people watch, enjoy a beer, and kick back. You deserve it.

Yelp
Mazama 'Brewing' acts as more than just a brewery. I couldn't tell you how refreshing it was to have an ice-cold beer or how their brews tasted- because I'm not a beer drinker and it wasn't that kinda party. This place actually saved the day nicely when my daughter tried to treat us for an early Brunch elsewhere and that wait was an hour. Greeting was good. Seated right away. Small menu- but equipped with the right goods. Cement pillars, high ceilings and ample floor space. From hubs' Fried Chicken+bacon sandwich, Veggie Omelette my daughter and I had and her partner's French Toast- it was good. This place seemed like the underdog that morning we came here and kick-started our day just right.

Yelp
Went here for weekend brunch. Drinks were great and the breakfast/brunch options were creative and tasty. It was a bit quiet when we first got there but things picked up later. I'm not sure their brunch is widely known about, but I would highly recommend it! Service was very friendly and quick, and most of the outdoor seating is shaded.

Yelp
We decided to try a new-to-us restaurant and decided on Mazama Brewing. The night was lovely so we enjoyed the outdoor seating area. My husband tried the beer sampler, while my daughter and I opted for fountain beverages. We started with an appetizer of Porto Fries. I got the Sweet Potato Sandwich with fries (get the fries! They are AMAZING!), husband got the Fried Chicken Sandwich, my daughter got the Chicken Wings. We also got a Mazama Burger to go for my other daughter. Food came out quickly, tasted very good, and everyone was happy!

Yelp
Good huddling place with friends and family. Not recommending anything non alcoholic here :). Food is just fine. Crispy chicken sandwich , battered mushroom fry and fried Brussels sprouts are decent options. Ignore donuts for desserts.

Yelp
Located in the Orenco shopping area. Stopped here for last call. Party of three. Microbrews are good. No Cider, which was a little disappointing. Had the oven baked cookies and ice cream. That was good. It is a very nice relaxing place. Watching the transit train come and go, was cool! You can sit outside, inside or at the bar. Plenty of free parking. Afterwards, you can go for a walk around the shopping area. We will check this place out again.

Yelp
We stopped in last night for the first time around 6pm. They were quite slow, 2 tables finishing up inside and one on the patio. I've got no idea how things were prior to covid, but the setup currently is very casual...there's a sign outside to seat yourself, as well as QR code cards to reach the menu placed on the tables. After waiting a few minutes and noticing no one was coming to take our order, we glanced around and spotted another card on a nearby table that stated to go to the counter to place an order. We actually only saw one employee covering all aspects of the front...he took our order at the counter, ran the bar, brought out our food...until we were leaving, at which point we saw one other. Although very pleasant, the service is very much counter service only, as no one came back after the food was brought to the table. The food itself was pretty good. We ordered a chicken banh mi sandwich with fries and a fish n chips. The flavor was pretty good on both meals: smaller fish pieces with heavy breading but loads of fries. Our only real complaint with the meal was the fries...way too heavy handed on the salt for us. The indoor seating area was a tad messy, crumbs around. But clearly running on minimal staff I guess that's not too surprising. Could be better, but overall a decent meal.

Yelp
Had a great time late on a Sunday night. The beer and food was amazing and the service was friendly. Totally worth another visit when we are back in the area. Parking garage right around the corner made parking easy enough, and the first two hours are free.

Yelp
Good food, I got brunch menu, fried chicken sandwich and perfect runny eggs veggie Benedict. a bit slow service, though. I gave Four stars that I want to give an anther shots, they have good selection of beer, food ; fish tacos.

Yelp
Let's talk about a few things about Mazama Brewing: Location- in the middle of Orenco Station with choices of nice covered outdoor seating and cool indoor seating. (Also great for people watching!) There is parking on the side streets if you are lucky but also the spots in the parking garage for up to 2 hours. Also dog friendly! Food - Beers are great and refreshing! (Which I hope so being that they make their own beer) Food is good and hit the spot but I still haven't decided if it was worth the price. Fried chicken sandwich was crispy and flavorful, side salad is fresh. Hubby wanted to get the lobster Mac and Cheese but they didn't have lobster (on a Friday night for dinner) which was a bit disappointing, but he got the bacon version instead - a bit salty. Service - nothing to complain about here! Everyone was super friendly but mostly you just order inside and they will bring out the food and drinks. BONUS: In their bathroom they have diapers for the changing stations! This is very exciting for me as an expecting mom to see! Will be back after baby is here so I can try to brews :)

Yelp
Been here a bunch of times. Great spot with reliable food and beer. Weekend brunch is solid and they have great beers. Easy access given the location, bike, car, train.... I bring my son this it is family friendly.

Yelp
The food is good, brewing is average, you can find better. Location of the place is quite good. Young people in the staff are not much helpful, they always have a serious face and are not helpful. The old lady is the best staff you will meet here, she is welcoming and helpful.

Yelp
Great ales and staff. Food is great. Belgian ales. Original Burger Portobello fries are fantastic!

Yelp
Food and ambience was good, but the service and accuracy of billing was terrible. I arrived and sat outside with my dog figuring I would be receiving service. After a long amount of time, I called to place a a to-go and asked for two beers while I waited. The first beer arrived, and I thought great; once this one is finished, the second would arrive. Then my food arrived, on a plate, not in a to-go box, but thought I would wait for the second beer to arrive. However, I had a plate of food with no utensils or napkins. I was thinking, the second beer would arrive and I could ask for a napkin while I ate the fries. I caught the attention of the server I mentioned the second beer and ask for a napkin. The server left and after an unreasonable amount of time, I picked up my 9 pound dog and went inside to pay my bill. To make this long story short and point out the main issue, though I questioned the bill, Mazama charged me for two beers, but I only received one. The atmosphere was, as is the food, but service and accuracy of billing is where they screw you. Fact is, if they get busy, the small customers get shafted.

Pierre C.

Yelp
Don't know why this place isn't rated higher. Great drink selection. Yummy bits. Brunch on the weekends. You can wait 45 minutes for La Provence, or just walk 50 ft and walk in to a table here. Support local business! Tequila sunrise is great!
google avatar

Nika N.

Yelp
Great drinks, friendly staff, great patio that we enjoy bringing out dog to. French fries and dessert here are my favorite. My only wish would be for the veggie hash to have more veggies. Great spot for casual meal. Order at the counter. Take the max or parking is near by. It's never to busy so you can always get a great seat.

Yelp
Flies buzzing around all over the place and service was terrible. Food wasn't good either. Won't be back.

Yelp
Jordan was amazing. My Wife and I stopped by for a lil Saturday brunch. Jordan, our server, was fast and super friendly. Thx to Jordan and some delicious adult beverages our brunch was perfect.

Yelp
This little place is a walking distance for me. They have great craft beer, and sell it in bigger formats to go so you can storage your favorite. I enjoyed a lot the aged barrel porter, I could say it is my favorite so far..

Yelp
We've been here a couple times when passing through. Both times great food. The staff is kind and the menu is good.

Yelp
Service was good. Food was not great, about average for this style restaurant. I liked the atmosphere with the group, I just didn't think it was entirely worth the money.

Yelp
Mazama stayed strong through the pandemic! So glad they made it, my favorite spot in hillsboro. Lovely outdoor seating. I always get the trippel and my husband loves the saison (hope it's back soon!) The pretzel is a perfect snack to go with the beer. Will forever miss the chicken liver mousse with duck fat. (chants: bring it back! bring it back!)
google avatar

Yelp
First time here, and it's not gonna be my last! Service is very good and the food is very good! The friend chicken burger is amazing! The fries and your choice of beer makes the entire experience worth it. Great atmosphere with excellent customer service. Right next to Orange Theory, so after you're done working out come next door for a juicy post-workout, whether it's a juicy burger, or a juicy IPA ;)

Yelp
ambiance is 10/10. we had some apps and beers at the bar and it was wonderful! will definitely return!

Yelp
So one hour later... we are still waiting for our fried chicken and our water glasses have been empty for the past 30 minutes... All the tables that came after us got their food already. Our friend, who came 40 minutes after us, ALSO got his food! While asking a different waitress to check on our food, she gave us some sass and told us, "I didn't put it in.... but I could check on it." I don't need to know who put it in, I just want someone to check on it! She told us it was in. But now it has been 1 hour and a half... and we are still waiting. Our waiter says "there was a 14 person order that the chef was working on." Okay, but how does our Friend who ordered 40 minutes later than us get his food before us? We also arrived before the 14 person party. Additionally, the place is only half full. Further update: We just spoke to the manager and he said it was a WiFi problem and that our ticket did not go through. He also said they only have 1 chef working because the other called out sick. Okay, understandable because they have only been open for 7 weeks. However, we asked TWO waiters and they both said the order was in. There was no communication between anyone. On a high note, I am eating my friend's mac and cheese with lobster butter and it's pretty good. But for a two hour wait and our water still not filled... it's both a communication and service problem. I came at 5:40pm... leaving at 8:00pm... our waiter didn't even talk or look at us on the way out :( They did give us the chicken sandwich for free to make up for it... but my friend had to ask for it. I will be back since I live walking distance... hopefully it will be better so that I can update my review.

Yelp
Finally open! We came in for the soft opening last weekend and for some beers today. They are working out some of the kinks of service but we have had great experiences so far at Mazama. The beers are good and they have a variety of European styles to fit various tastes - it's not all IPAs, thankfully. The space is simply decorated but has some nice tiling work around the bar. I love the wooden counters and the fact that the windows can be opened up to the outside on a nice afternoon. For food, we had the fried chicken sandwich and the fish and chips. The fish was a little bit more thickly battered than I normally like but it was kind of like a doughnut or funnel cake batter which was oddly enjoyable. The chicken sandwich also hit the spot and had a good hunk of chicken. The pickled eggs were a nice way to start our meal with the vibrant colors. I'd get them again. The only thing I didn't like was the apple dessert - I just didn't think the firmer panna cotta went that well with the sour apples and crumble topping. It was like having too separate desserts in one cup. Our server was still learning things but she was very nice and friendly. I'm very excited to have Mazama in the neighborhood and judging by how busy it was, everyone else is excited too! Oh, did I mention they do brunch and have a lot of dessert options? We will be coming here a lot!

Yelp
Great wings and very pleasant service. Beautiful open patio near the Max and very walkable. This could be a regular on our list!

Yelp
Looking for dog friendly place for dinner. Hubby was happy to get his adult beverage. The porter was absolutely fabulous. I got the sour. It was tasty. I'm just not much of a drinker. Hubby got the mac and cheese. It was deliciously hot and gooey. We split the cesar salad and still had leftover. I got the bomb chicken sandwich. It was humongous. Very tasty. Dinner with adult beverages set us back 53 with tip. Totally worth it. Support local businesses. Staff attentive enough for order at counter and seat yourself.

Yelp
I've been here a few times and the food has always been a little expensive but good (fried chicken sandwich was tough). Large beer selection, never really busy. I got the chicken banh mi recently and was frankly shocked when I got home and opened the box. It looked like they ran out of chicken and cut the bread to match then filled the rest of the box with fries. A banh mi at a Vietnamese restaurant would be half the price and twice the size albeit with no fries. I can't recommend getting any chicken sandwiches here though other food has been good but expensive. Expect a range of experiences from OK and overpriced to pricey but tasty.

Yelp
Mazama Brewing is truly unique in this area. I am a big fan of dark beers and am often frustrated to find a barrage of IPAs everywhere I go. So I was intrigued to discover that Mazama Brewing offers an alternative: Belgian Beers. Wha?! So, I ordered a beer flight to try them out. And it was huge. They provide a large assortment of beers in their flights (more than most other places I've been to). And they present it beautifully. Presentation and Ambience are very important to me! I was AMAZED at the flavors of these beers! I've never tasted anything like it. The bartender told me it's all about the YEAST. Apparently, these Belgian folks cooked up quite a special blend of yeasts a gazillian years ago and the folks at Mazama are part of a small, special guild of humans who have kept that secret alive to this day so that modern folks like you and me can experience this taste and be amazed. My favorite beers now are the Dubbel (Google on how to pronounce it. You'll get mixed answers. I prefer to pronounce it DUBBELL.) and the Grand Cru. The Dubbel is the darkest, but not as dark as Guinness (ah Guinness...) . It will satisfy your craving for a dark beer but also provide a subtle surprise in flavor. And it's not bitter nor hoppy. The Grand Cru is yellowish, almost like a Hefe but the flavor is very tangy and sweet (but not too sweet), unlike anything you've had before (It pairs very well with THE BURGER - see below). I'll bet you money on it (and I'm no gambler). If you really want to take a ride on the wild side, try the Tripel or the Quad. You can get a sample. One of my favorite aspects of Mazama Brewing is that THEY'RE LOCAL. They're based in Corvallis and are now expanding their prospects up into the Big City. I love supporting local business. And it's not hard to support local businesses like Mazama Brewing who are so Innovative and so dedicated to their Craft. So one reason to come here is for the authentic beer experience they provide. But that's not all. The other reason is for the FOOD! In addition to their beer, Mazama Brewing also takes great pride in the food they offer. The Mazama Burger is LITERALLY one of the BEST burgers I have ever had in my life. YOU MUST GET ONE NOW! Get it with the Salad and Lemon Vinaigrette (the default). The current burger is a new incarnation of their original burger. Let's call it Burger 2.0. It is absolutely scrumptious! If you doubt me, see the photo I posted of it. A picture is worth a thousand words and describes it far better than I can. They have truly found the sweet spot in all the required aspects of a truly great Burger. The bun is to die for. The patty is flavorful and cooked just right. And the cheese and toppings are a perfect blend of sweetness and gooyness (without too much goo). It is Brilliant! I have met the chef on a couple occasions so I'm not surprised that he has achieved this level of Magnificence. He is truly dedicated to his craft and brings enormous energy to developing the menu and delivering stellar results every day. I greatly appreciate his Creativity and Passion. For a beer joint, they offer a tremendous selection of appetizers and entrees, all crafted with care, with a blend of familiarity and subtle surprise.

Yelp
The food, although overpriced, it was actually good. I don't think the business is holding up because price wise cannot compete, especially with Little Big Burger around the corner. We wouldn't have minded returning, but the Owner turned a simple misunderstanding into a bad experience that left a bad taste in the food. There was simply a miscommunication about how many refills we could get with the soda, but instead of being apologetic about it, she held her ground and argued we only get 2 fills (not refills, basically 1 refill with our initial drink). It was blown out of proportion for no reason. It was our first time and easily our last. The business doesn't look like it'll last, it wasn't worth arguing over a soda...

Yelp
Wow! Re food was incredible as was the beer. This is a a super cute and warm spot with high quality service and food. It was very clean and we just loved being there. My husband and I split the cowboy burger and fried mushrooms. Yummmm. The juicy ipa was spot on!

Yelp
Best brewery / restaurant in Hillsboro!!!Awesome brews spanning Belgian, German and NWIPAs. Especially love my two favs - Marzen (Oktoberfest) and Tiny Moose (a Belgian blonde). This year's rendition of the Marzen is the best ever and the BEST in TOWN Food is well curated to pair with the awesome brews. Love my go to - Bacon Jam Burger Nothing would be as good without the awesome owner/host - Cathy who runs a tight ship and is just awesome to be around.. JUST SHOW UP AND YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED!! Perfect for families and groups with awesome indoor / outdoor seating!!

Yelp
Excellent beer, burgers were a little small but tasted good. Not a fan of their battered fries. Will try a different item on the menu next time.

Yelp
I am now a regular here. Hands down, best happy hour in the area. I'm a cider drinker and they have the best price and pour here. The happy hour food is unmatched in this area... Cauliflower steak is my favorite these days, but I'm always happy with the beer cheese or white bean puree. Recently tried the duck fat potato pancakes from the specials and it was so yummy. Bartenders Jackie and Derek are awesome. And the live music on Friday nights is a nice addition to this neighborhood

Yelp
Great atmosphere. I got my food to go, but would love to eat in sometime. The vegan BBQ Jackfruit Sandwich was delicious. I'm not a huge fan of jackfruit and would definitely eat this again. The hostess was so friendly and attentive to my dietary choice. Their hefeweizen is refreshing and I'm glad I got a 6 pack for home. Very excited to try their other beer offerings! Hoping they add at least one more vegan option in the future. A chili for the colder months would be amazing!

Yelp
I ordered the cauliflower steak which was soft inside but a braised finishing. It had too many raisins for my liking, but the celery curry sauce balanced it out. It would have been nice to gave something on the plate besides a huuuge head of cauliflower but I digress. The service here is slow, considering that we were the only group inside and it took a good hour to receive our food. However they may have been understaffed as it a new restaurant so will give them the benefit of the doubt. This seems to be more of a drinks place then a food eatery as their beer and wine menu is loaded with a lot of options. Perhaps I will return for happy hour and give this place another go.

Yelp
Today was their GRAND OPENING. My husband & I got there right before it got crowded. They were doing raffles & live music! Beer: My husband got a 16 oz Gemini Nitro ($6) & I ordered a 16 oz Mazamantor ($6). We got $1 off each beer, grand opening discount! Score!! Food: We ordered the Fish & Chips ($16), Beer Battered Green Beans ($7) & Pork Belly Flatbread ($12). Let's start with the Fish & Chips, fish was amazeballs - light, crispy & flavorful. One of the better Fish & Chips I've ever had. It was served with a Malt Vinegar Aioli, Honey Coleslaw & Pomme Frites. Beer Batter Green Beans was finger licking addicting also served with the Malt Vinegar Aioli. Pork Belly Flatbread was delicious!! It was Braised Pork Belly, Charred Onion Chiichurri, Cotija, Pickled Red Onion, Arugula & Cilantro on a Flatbread. Only downfall was that they had the windows open & the restaurant was hella hot. The waiters were all dripping with sweat. We had to leave too because I couldn't stand the heat. They honestly didn't have fans & it doesn't look like they even have central air... The restaurant is in the lobby / retail area in the apartment building next to our apartment building, so best believe we will be back!! Can't wait to try everything else!! Happy Eating!!

Fantastic Authentic European Style Beers, Great casual food, service was great. COVID has reduced staffing and menu but all the chnages are for the better. Comfort food, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch and want to go back. Like now! State guidelines say no indoor dining, so we sat outside in the cold. The server wheeled some propane heaters over to our table to keep us warm. We both ordered a beer and the fried chicken sandwich. The beer was good as was expected. But the friend chicken sandwich surpassed expectations! Chicken was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Every bite was a flavor explosion! I think the garlic honey made this sandwich. It was on the same level as a chicken sandwich from Jojo PDX. I'd go again in a heartbeat if it were closer to my house!

Yelp
I always order a charcuterie if it's offered. It was full of great textures and flavors. The portobello fries were amazing. Juicy and full of flavor. Great environment.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and was impressed with everything about the place. The location is great and the place is beautiful. The food and beer were both outstanding. I ordered the Fried Chicken Benedict and it was great. The chicken was wonderfully breaded and fried and the eggs were poached just right. If you come for brunch you can order a beermosa, which is orange juice and one of their sour beers. PS. They are huge fans of The Beatles.

Yelp
Unfortunately my experience at Mazama Brewing was not a good one. The service staff were both incompetent and not attentive. Twice our food and beverage items were delivered to the wrong table. My entree was also missing beans that were supposed to be included. Upon alerting service staff about the missing beans, I was told it would be approximately 15 minutes for preparation. We also requested beverage refills while waiting, as service staff appeared to be put out by the simplest of requests. Twenty five minutes later, still no beans or even a mention of it, as service staff repeatedly passed our table deliberately ignoring us. At that point we had exhausted our patience and went to the counter to pay. We requested a bill deduction for the beans that were never received. The waitress had to ask the manager for an access code to authorize the discount. The manager was casually lounging in the bar instead of supervising wait staff and ensuring the best customer service possible. In regards to the overall food quality, I'd give it a 3.5 out of five stars. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip and vowed to never return to Mazama Brewing.

Yelp
Love the beer and always have. It's delicious, especially if you dig Belgian styles. Their food at the Orenco location was quite the pleasant surprise, as well. Can't say I expected it to be as good as it was but, for a brewer, it's excellent. When it's NOT a pandemic, I suggest the Steak Frites (wasn't on the menu last time it was there), but their chicken sandwich is also excellent, as are the fish and chips and a few other items. Staff is really nice, too. Give them a visit!

Yelp
Food was good but overpriced. I paid for $18 for fish and chips and had to pay additional $3 for porto mushrooms instead of fries. The waitress was kind and attentive. The manager/owner, however, soured the entire experience over a soda refill. I was told soda was refillable and I assumed unlimited refills. When I went to get my second and last refill of my meal she told me they only do "two refills". I confirmed that, yes, this will be my second refill and continued with my request. She, however, corrected her mistake and mentioned that it only covers "two fills". This would have been the end of it but she added that I should be grateful to have received any refills at all. I tried to explain what I was told but instead got confrontational and told me to never come back if I was unsatisfied. This was completely disrespectful and confrontational over a simple mistake. Please be cautious the manager/owner will over escalate the situation for no reason. And note that I would have come back if the situation was handled with any amount of care but was treated with disrespect and rude.
