Google
Oh the best mexican food I've had since moving to this state!!! It tastes as good as authentic mexican, I ordered the nacho supreme on the lunch menu, and wow it was loaded, couldn't even finish it!! And my sister got the sizzling fajitas, on lunch price the meat was cut into small pieces excellent 👌. Definitely want to go back and would most definitely send people here to try it out!! We got a big bang for our buck. Our meals with 2 drinks was only 22 dollars!!

Great local restaurant! Friendly staff, delivered quickly and it was delicious! If you're in the area I highly recommend it.

It may not be much in the looks department but I've eaten here twice so far and enjoyed the food! Specifically their chimichangas. I also love their two hot sauces (red and green). They have them in the back and you have to specifically ask for them. I put the green sauce on my rice and the red sauce on my food. Noms! Nice causal Mexican eatery. Highly recommend.

Google
The food was amazing not to mention their margaritas were top notch. Its an older building but well maintained and clean. Will definitely make a point to stop in again when Im in area again.

The food was as amazing. The ambiance was relaxing and very enjoyable. The waitress an staff were very friendly and eager to help. I will definitely go there again.

I went with my son's here tonight. The employees were friendly and our waitress waited on us immediately. The place was pretty clean. Music was at a good level. Had a good menu. The salsa that came with the tortilla chips was delicious! Our food was fully cooked and we didn't wait long for our order! I ordered the quesadilla fajita (chicken) and it was by far the best quesadilla I've eaten! We will definitely be returning.

Google
First time diners and was fairly underwhelmed. In all fairness the service was a 5 as Favian was friendly and attentive. The food was a 3 as we had the shrimp burrito, (overcooked) and shredded chicken with rice (which was cold). Not one to write home about.

Google
The food was super tasty and the dinner portion was a great size for someone who eats a lot of food like I do. The service was quick and friendly as well.

Yelp
A quick review here. We stopped in tonight on our way to Richmond NC for my son's HS football game. As we were driving through Aberdeen we decided to stop here for a quick bite. The restaurant is family owned and is on the main strip in town. The service was quick. My wife enjoyed her Margarita and the Corona Extra I ordered was ice cold. We both got the same entree which was the Chori Pollo ($13.99) My wife skipped the cheese on hers. The dish was tasty and hot. The chicken had a nice seasoning to it. The sausage on top wasn't too spicy. The rice was cooked correctly and the lettuce and tomato were fresh. Overall it was good. This is a nice place where the food is pretty good as well as the atmosphere inside. They have lunch and happy hour specials daily as per the sign. Skip the chains and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Yes. Recommend! We had a delicious lunch and can't wait to go back. I had the chicken fajita burrito with shredded chicken and fajita veggies inside. The veggies were so flavorful and yummy. I ate the whole thing. My husband had the fajita burrito too with steak tips. Loved it. Salsa to start has a unique smoky hint. Chips were warm. We loved the crushed ice! Also used in delicious margaritas. We were actually going to a different Mexican restaurant across the street but noticed this place--it was curious the restaurant was mostly full at 3:45pm on a Tuesday in August. We are here for a kids golf tournament. None of the patrons appeared to be. We will definitely go back!

Yelp
Ordered shredded beef enchiladas. They tried to disguise pork as beef. It tasted okay but that's deceitful.

Yelp
Got here around 9:15 and the place closed at 10:00 ? Everything we ordered was thrown down at us . Clearly late night is not the time for visiting this establishment. The waitress was no nonsense and the whole experience felt like we were inconveniencing them. The food was good. Nothing remarkable to report . Probably because we could not relax. We had worked all day and had driven from Raleigh so the hour and half drive to get dinner was very disappointing. Hubs ordered the fajitas and I had a couple tacos with beans & rice. Would I go here again ? Probably not. Their first impressions were not good. Sorry amigo . Muy decepcionado!

Yelp
This was suppose to be Chori Pollo, ordered it with extra chorizo and this is what I got absolutely awful dish will not be going there again and yes went back just to be told this is how chori pollo is made lol did not mention it was supposed to have extra chorizo yea this was awful...

Yelp
Small and family owned vibe, very friendly and extremely affordable! Fast service and food came out fast too. Good sized menu with everything you would hope to find, but I have to say this isn't exactly authentic Mexican food. I had a lunch combo which was a great price, and for what I paid for the meal I would say it was good quality. The salsa for the complimentary chips and salsa was one of the best ever with a smoky chipotle flavor. The guacamole was also exceptional. The chicken in my quesadilla had great flavor but they used a white nacho cheese for the quesadilla which I'm not used to. The ground beef (chalupa) and refried beans did not have a lot of flavor. I'm giving this five stars for value and service, not necessarily the most amazing food and I'll probably go back!

Yelp
My husband & I stopped in from Raeford. We came into town for another store & wanted to grab lunch before heading home. Service was great, our waitress was attentive & friendly. The food was delicious! & it wasn't a long wait, either. I enjoyed the ambiance as well. It wasn't loud, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. Overall, we enjoyed our visit & will be back!

Yelp
Mazatlan is always our first choice for any restaurant when we go out. Their entire team is so sweet. The plates are large and they are not shy with putting a LOT of meat in their dishes. We love them!

Yelp
Good atmosphere. Hot food. Great Guacamole. Large portions. Very reasonable priced. Totally recommend this place.

Yelp
Service was not great.. Got served after people who came after us and they messed up on the bill

Yelp
This is a great, small spot right off the main road. When I rolled in at 6:45pm on a Thursday night the parking lot and dining were completely full. The food is great, the service is friendly, and the prices very reasonable. The salsa is EXCEPTIONAL and the chips fresh and crispy, not greasy or too salty. I was thrilled with the vegetarian options. I ordered the spinach quesadilla and enchilada combo with rice, expecting wilty spinach and a cheese quesadilla. What I received was beyond expectations! The quesadilla and enchilada were filled with fresh peppers, onions, and spinach and not drowning in cheese! The enchilada sauce is amazing - not sweet or tomatoey, but rich and flavorful. The rice was also nicely cooked and flavored. They also make their own hot sauce, which was very tasty and packed a nice punch. This spot has a nice patio and is quiet even though in the main road. Will definitely be back!

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Had dinner there tonight - roach ran across the table and I didn't make a scene just let it happen and killed it. Told the waiter and he said okay. When I went to leave I asked if they could discount our bill seeing how the roach crawled across and they said no. We can't do that. So I'm here to let y'all know, there is roaches crawling on tables and messing around plates and the staff don't seem to care. I for one will not be returning.

Yelp
Great meals and service. Ask for the hotter salsa to spice things up a little. Food is so good here. It's my go to spot for Mexican food in this area.

Clif W.

Yelp
Food is great and the service is great I've been going here weekly for years. I love the guacamole and the salsa

Darrell F.

Yelp
Ordered the Sabana chicken said it was covered in cheese sauce , mine had a teaspoon , when I asked the waitress about more sauce she told me it would be extra, why ? It was supposed to have it on it , we come there a lot from the campground and bring friends with us , the chicken was tuff this year we have eaten there at lease 9 times when we camp , very disappointing,

Yelp
We love this place. Great food, family vibes. Prices are great too! A great causal date night spot

Yelp
Wasn't planning to eat here but the Thai restaurant next door wasn't open for dine in. The food tasted great! I ordered "street tacos". They didn't charge extra for carne asada like another Mexican restaurant did recently. My husband said his burrito was great. We will definitely return.

Yelp
Great place to eat. In my opinion way better then el patron next to sears. Smaller place. Great food. Great chips and salsa. Will be coming back as we miss Tex mex

Yelp
Who knew you could find bomb Mexican food down in the country in Southern Pines, NC?! I stumbled on this place via yelp recommendations and was blown away! This place is certainly not fancy by any means, but the place makes us up for that in all other aspects. The food is phenomenal, the margaritas are gigantic and taste amazing. They have great food and drink specials throughout the week and they were very busy when we came on a Friday night. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for truly authentic Mexican food!

Yelp
Coming from Chicago, born and raised in SoCal, and Mexican, I was skeptical about good Mexican food in NC. Well that has been settled with Mazatlan! They start you off with fresh made, warm, plenty of tortilla chips and salsa. The salsa tasted good, not spicy at all but had great flavor. I had the Camarones Bravos and my spouse the Enchiladas Suizas. The camarones had the perfect amount of spice to it, great chipotle smoky flavor, lots of sauce and plenty of shrimp served (approx 12-14 shrimps). The enchilada sauce was freshly made, the chicken was tender, and flavorful. It reminded me of the chicken from caldo de pollo. One thing is, my spouse wish the green enchilada sauce was more blended, it was a little chunky with the onions and green tomatoes but nonetheless very flavorful sauce. I was definitely surprised with it being this good! When in town, I will definitely come again!

Yelp
As a sinaloense this restaurant is super sad. Ningún taco va hacer de esa mierda que hacen ustedes change the name to something white because this isn't Mexican at all. A taco made out of a shell is unheard of in Mexico I get it not Mexico this is NC but do not claim or name a business something it can't even come close to or compare to. This is just sad y'all have white people fooled this is Mexican food lol.

Yelp
Twice now, I've ordered from here for takeout, being very clear that I have an allergy to dairy (cheese and butter). I asked for the chicken to be cooked in oil just to be sure I don't have a severe reaction- which they say is fine. After driving 15 min one way to pick it up and back, I get home with this: my food covered in cheese. I don't understand how they could blatantly not give any cares about a food allergy. I called and of course have to drive back to receive a refund. Never eating here again because they do not care if they send someone into anaphylaxis.
google avatar

Yelp
The place was a little sketchy looking, but I'm glad we stopped! We were able to sit out on the little patio which was nice coming from a colder state! Food was delicious! Would definitely say check it out if your in the area!

Alex S.

Yelp
The service was terrible. The food was sloppy & terrible. Waitress was rude and unknowledgeable about the menu. I didn't eat my food at all. Oh and I got charged $9 for a side of rice! I also work in service and this experience was just disappointing especially because I recommended we go to this place. Seriously just go to San Felipe. I am not even a Karen but dont waste your time or money. Brb gonna go eat some fruity pebbles now.

Yelp
Have eaten here several times. Late this afternoon, myself and two good friends drove from Sanford for taco Tuesday. We ordered chicken tacos and beef tacos. The chicken tacos are my favorite, but both are actually very good. We'll definitely be back for more. The service is good, and the food is even better!

Adam S.

Yelp
Fantastic, authentic Mexican food. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend the carne asada - also the salsa is absolutely smashing.

S. C.

Yelp
Still a five star! Price value and their red salsa has the best flavor. Service is great and they are fast on a take out order

Yelp
Food is always amazing, service is excellent! Every time we visit this state and area we always make a stop! Well worth it!! Price is reasonable for 4 people we spent $51 on food/drinks!

Yelp
Overall, this place was great! Visiting a friend in town and stopped by for dinner. The frozen strawberry margaritas were delicious. The arroz con pollo was a little salty, but the chips and salsa were amazing. The service was quick and the food was great.

Yelp
Food was quite good (was even yummy reheated the next day), service was good. It was close quarters and loud where they say us but didn't ruin my experience.
google avatar

Doreen H.

Yelp
Their food is very tasty and plentiful. Customer service is amazing. It reminds me of a ma and pa operation. They make their own salsa and chips. I love their nightly specials

Bart B.

Yelp
Small family Mexican restaurant, great food and reasonably priced. My favorite in the area hands down

Yelp
Yummy express fajitas for lunch on 6/24. Wonderful service. Well priced for the food I ordered.

K.R. L.

Yelp
Stopped in on the way home from Charleston. What a disappointment. The menu was OK but the service was horrifying. Had to ask (twice) for dinnerware and napkins. We got our meals a separate times so Kathy had to start eating hers before it cooled. When she was finished and went to the restroom and waitperson came to the table and took BOTH meals away. I was not finished. She first took my plate of fixings for the fajitas and then asked me if I was finished! Mind you - she had collected everything but my main fajita platter, stacked it all and then asked. What the heck? Then we just sat there waiting for the check - or anything to happen. Nothing. Pretty much assured we won't be dropping by in the future.

Yelp
I'm here working from out of state for a month and because the food is always fresh, tasty, and across street from hotel ,I eat here every other day! I always get side of guacamole/no tomatoes. It's so good and fresh. I've had the Texas fajitas always fresh and cooked right( not over cooked). Also my favorite dish is the carnitas with salsa verde. And tacos are 99¢ on Tuesday! Great place to eat...

Yelp
My wife ordered the Enchiladas Verdes and I ordered the Steak Fajitas. The service was good, chips and salsa arrived promptly and were good. The waitress was courteous and the food was brought out shortly after ordering. However the taste was the reason im giving them 2 stars. The enchiladas were soggy with a pile of lettuce on top, and the fajitas were just mediocre. We were really hoping for more, unfortunately I'm not sure we will be returning!

Yelp
I have no idea what these five star reviews are about. I am so confused. Service was terrible. Food was not good. Despite the restaurant being not busy, many workers walked by before anyone acknowledged us and seated us. Our server was awful. Dropped our food off and didn't ask us if we wanted more chips despite our empty basket. He never came back to the table again. No drink refills. No check. We finally gave up and went to the register to figure out how to pay. Several staff members went around calling for him until he appeared. We never saw a check, but our bill somehow came to $24 for two meals, a small bowl of queso and two waters. I asked to see our itemized bill but said they didn't have it??? That's not a crazy price at some places, but for the food we received? No way! I'm still mad about it. My son had cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I had a cheese chile relleno that was half a pepper, split open with a little cheese broiled on top. It was a pitiful meal. Our meals were the portion size of a lunch special and worth maybe $6/$7 tops. Ugh. I will never come back here and never recommend it to anyone.

Yelp
We have been visiting lately and eating on their patio. Each waiter/waitress has been consistently pleasant and sweet to us. The service is quick and the food is delicious!
google avatar

Susi H.

Yelp
Not my favorite Tex-Mex joint in the area, but a nice option in the Sandhills. The lunch specials were fairly priced and the food was tasty. The service was nothing to write home about, but it was not bad either. A solid 3 stars establishment.
google avatar

Pete V.

Yelp
Another good american mexi-place. Flavorful food and timely service in all respects. I will be back repeatedly. It is hard to not give five stars on the 1st visit. yummy

Yelp
Located on US-1 in Aberdeen in one of the three old Pizza Hut buildings uncannily proximal to each other, this establishment is the latest effort to make a successful venture in this location. It is probably the 4th different restaurant to take up residence here in the last four years. I wish them luck. The inside is relatively simple, charming, and seems very clean. We were immediately greeted at the door and seated. The server provided us chips and salsa within 20 seconds, and our order was placed two minutes later. The service is FAST. Our entrees were in front of us about two minutes after we ordered. I ordered the Pollo con crema, which was decent/good. The waiter checked in on us several times and refilled our drinks thrice before they were empty. The great: FAST, attentive, and kind service. The decent/good: Food and families welcome. The bad: No alcohol available. Eating Americanized Mexican food is difficult without beer or margaritas.
google avatar

Yelp
On the personal recommendation of Joseph W. , whom we know well, we tried this restaurant and really liked it, even though Yelp chooses not to recommend Joseph's review! The food here is fresh, hot, and tasty. We come here regularly and bring friends. The best recommendation I can offer is that this is where the hispanic folks in the county come to eat. Note that as an update to an early review, they have full bar service.
google avatar

Laura K.

Yelp
Disgusting. Spotty service. Disappointing menu. I thought I had ordered an authentic dish and it came out covered in fake cheese, which wasn't part of the description nor was it authentic. They informed us they were out of rice and offered fries as a replacement. ????? What??? Where the heck do Mexican fries come from? They have some ancient Aztec recipe? My food was overcooked and tasteless. Salsa bland and might as well be ketchup, oh that might pair well with the fries.

Yelp
I stopped by Mazatlan for lunch on Monday 6/16/2014 Atmosphere 2.5/5 stars It is a typical generic Mexican restaurant. Fairly clean, a couple of TV's with the World Cup soccer playing. Service 4.5/5 We were seated immediately. A young man waited on us. Brought chips and salsa to us. Our meals were out in about five minutes. The server checked on us four or five times. Gave us drinks to go. 25% tip. Food 4/5 The chips and salsa were above average. The salsa was tomato soup thick, and had a nice mild flavor. I ordered the lunch size fajita with had chicken, steak, peppers, and onions served with it. It came with two large flour tortillas. It included side of beans and rice which were average to above average in flavor. The fajita was delicious. The portions were large, too much for lunch in my opinion. The total bill was $8.90 plus tip. That price included an unsweet ice tea. I would definitely eat here again.

L M.

Yelp
Love Mexican food and this spot does not disappoint! Their salsa is addicting and fresh. Our order is always accurate and on time. Once you've tried Mazatlan, you will be hooked and it will become your go-to spot!

Yelp
Eaten here twice now 2 months apart at lunchtime. Both times got the lunch special, first time lunch Fajita, second Nacho Fajitas. Both excellent with almost to much to eat on the plate. Fast sevice excellent chips & salsa

Cheryl B.

Yelp
The guacamole is very good! We had chicken tacos and a chicken burrito, they were both very good. The beans and rice were authentic Mexican. Everything was delicious and the service was great also. We'll be back, thank you!

Yelp
This is my favorite place. I come here about once a week. The food is fantastic, always get great service no matter how busy and it is very affordable for an entire family.
