MAZE Cocktail Lounge

MAZE Cocktail & Hookah Lounge was exactly the kind of laid-back vibe I needed in New Orleans. The hookah was smooth with a great variety of flavors to choose from, and the drinks were on point—just the right balance of flavor and kick. I didn’t get to try their food (they weren’t serving that night), but I loved that they allowed us to bring our own, which was a nice touch considering the circumstances. The atmosphere is chill, the service is easygoing, and it’s the kind of spot you can settle into for hours without realizing how late it’s gotten.

The atmosphere was cool but the service was awful! I went with a large group but I was ready to deal with the pain that came that. The service was slow, everything had to be paid for separately (which I feel was a SCAM to receive the 20% gratuity for each bill), and the staff was not very helpful when asked about specific charges. Many people in the group were charged twice for things already paid for. We had no problem paying the correct amount but they were very unorganized and I definitely feel as though they were trying to get over on my group.

This was a really cute lounge space! While visiting I stopped in with my friend on a Friday night. It was a really awesome atmosphere and there was a DJ that was getting us all the way together! They also have hookah at a reasonable price if you choose to check it out! My favorite drink that they do very well was the French75 with brandy! You must try it!

I would not recommend this place to anyone, it’s overpriced and a SCAM. Came here as a group of 3 with my friends and when we got there the ambiance was nice and the music was great everything else NO. First red flag was that they don’t even have table service for ordering drinks, you have to walk up the the bar and order your drinks . Our three drinks came up to 70$ and they did not mention an automatic 20% gratuity!! We got hookah which was priced as 40$ which is already ridiculously expensive for hookah, and the hookah was weak. Me and my friend split the cost of the hookah and we were charged 35$ each and were charged an additional service fee and gratuity, AGAIN! Then the worker had the nerve to show the tip screen as if she provided us any service ! . This was one of the worst experiences i’ve had at an establishment, 140$ for 3 drinks and hookah is very outrageous. You will not be told about all of the additional hidden fees they charge to your card, and will be expected to give a tip after being scammed ! Please avoid this place at all costs .

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) The atmosphere at MAZE was nice, but unfortunately, the service left much to be desired. The waitress seemed to play games when it came to prices, even though gratuity and taxes were clearly already included. To make matters worse, sections were reserved, yet our party wasn’t allowed to order drinks directly from the table — only bottom service was offered. A drink is a drink; it shouldn’t be that complicated. On the upside, the wings were flavorful and well done, but the Parmesan fries seriously need work. The cold shredded flakes on top were unappetizing and didn’t pair well with the dish. Overall, while the vibe was promising, the poor service and strange ordering restrictions overshadowed the experience. I can’t see myself returning here for business.

Cool little spot but the service was so rude and slow. No crowd when we went, really dead but service was still bad.

Service was horrendous. Visited on a Sunday evening. Came in as part of a group of 13. There was at most 3 or 4 other people in there. We had ask for basic things like water and napkins repeatedly. At least 4 people never received their drink and only 3 of the food orders came out. How is it that Charcuterie boards, the one thing that doesn't even have to be cooked, never make it to a table?? Also, be sure to check your bill with a fine toothed comb. As others have said, the billing is definitely "creative".

The food and drinks were good, but the prices are outrageous. On top of that, the waitress added her own tip without asking — completely unacceptable. Between the inflated prices and sneaky charges, this place feels like they’re robbing customers. I will not be back and don’t recommend it to anyone.

Maze is truly becoming my new favorite bar in NOLA. First off, I loveeeeee this space. It's super cute - perfect for grabbing drinks with friends or date night. I've had about 4-5 drinks from the menu, and I've enjoyed every single one. Not to mention, the staff is super nice and personable.

The decor is great, the atmosphere is awesome as well. Even the live music had the vibe really nice. It really could have been so much better. The service however is horrible. The bartenders are not skilled at serving multiple drinks, therefore a long lie builds up and obviously aren't trying to get tipped well. There is a hostess stand, yet no hostess. You seat yourself, get your own drink, stand in line to order your food, hookah, then your food arrives WRONG, no one buses tables, no one refreshes coals in the hookah. I really expected the service to match everything else. When the correct food did arrive it was hot and tasty though. There was a guy obviously connected to the place constantly walking around looking at everything. He saw the used plates, old glasses, old coals, etc, he never once engaged with anyone.

I absolutely love this place!! We came in for a friends birthday and It's so cute! The vibes were everything! Very well decorated and so esthetically pleasing. The perfect place for a photo op! The service here is TOP TIER. Veronica was absolutely amazing. She was the best mixologist and I can't say enough about the drinks...so amazing! I will be returning!

I love a delicious and Instagram-worthy cocktail, and Maze certainly delivers on that front. The bar boasts an extensive selection of spirits, and the bartenders take great care in crafting each cocktail to perfection, ensuring they not only taste great but look beautiful too. The trendy decor adds to the overall atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for a fun girls' night out.
