Delicious, authentic Mexican! We loved everything. Lots of seating with the outdoor tables, but it can fill up quickly. Will definitely be back

The atmosphere was quaint and genuine. Reminded me of some of the small Mexican restaurants I've visited in Houston in the past. You order and pay at the front counter. You then choose your own table. The service was friendly and fast. The fountain drinks are self-service and you are asked to bus your own table. The food was decent. I can only speak for my own dish, which was the Memelitas. I was not overly impressed with it, but it wasn't bad either, so I DID finish it. Overall, in a scale of "terrible to amazing", I'd rate the food somewhere between "mediocre" and "not too shabby". This, paired with the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff, makes it worth a visit!

Mmmm. These enchiladas were tasty, just a bit small. The sauce was delectable, definitely not out of a can. Rice was average. If you are in the area and craving some Mexican you should absolutely give this place a try. 3.5 stars. If only google allowed half stars

We came here Sunday we are a bigger family. Firstly we were not greeted by anyone or told hey you actually order at the register by anyone until we asked a passing server. The young man at the register was very friendly but didn’t let us know we had to buy the salsa separately or that the cups were taken by someone in order to receive a margarita. After we paid we asked an older server if we got the salsas from the bar. She was very unfriendly, asked us for the receipt, simply said we didn’t pay for it and left. We went back and paid for the salsa. We just think they should have been more friendly about it we obviously had never been there before. The same older server later came up asking for the cups we let her know we used them for soda cups for the kids we didn’t know those were the cups we needed for the aguas frescas and margarita. She was very rude for all our interactions. The food it self was not good. The chile relleno had no egg and was just a mushy mess. The pozole was so ridiculously small and the enchiladas weren’t even rolled. We also spent more than $100 and no one ate or enjoyed the food. I’d leave -1 for service if I could. First time there and will never return.

We came to Cincinnati for business this week Our mission was to find good food. Well, we found food that was AMAZING! Absolutely delicious and portioned perfectly. Service was good. There was a bit of a language barrier but, all around great. The environment was very comfortable. It has an outside patio with ceiling fans and a covered patio. It was the best!

Veggie tacos had great flavor! The salsa bar was also a fun option. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Order at the front of the restaurant and then find a table. Overall, love the vibe and the food was quite good.

I have been a Mazunte supporter from very early on. I LOVE the food. I have had every dish on the menu multiple times. Over the years I have grown to love this place more and more, the Sunday brunch menu is outstanding. The tacos, pozole, tamales I mean everything is just delicious. They have the BEST FISH TACOS IN THE CITY. The service is always great. If you haven’t been yet. You have been missing out on one of the best places to eat in the city.

Our first restaurant love. We were locals back in 2013, 2014…I don’t remember the year but we visited Mazunte very shortly after it opened. Margaritas were serve yourself. The food was so delicious and the margs were out of this world. Josh brought my husband a free beer one time, as he remembered us and was glad to see us back. Our favorite restaurant and we lived a minute away at the time. 2025…two kids later, we visited with our four and seven year old…picky as can be…and our seven year old “bravely” tried the rice and exclaims, “this is next level”! He proceeds to add the rice to his steak and cheese quesadillas along with chips. Completely demolished them. It felt full circle and I was so happily surprised that the vibe inside was exactly as I remembered. We may now live in the burbs but we will be sure to trek back down to our most favorite spot more frequently now that it’s now our kids favorite spot, too. Cheers!

Great restaurant! Authentic fast casual meal Food: enchiladas, chips and guacamole were excellent. Loved their salsa bar. Their horchata and their margarita was good too! Decor: cute, comfortable and inviting Service: very friendly

Plenty of parking front and back. Not a lot of indoor seating but outdoor will be great when it warms up. I really like the decor it is different from what I usually see in Mexican restaurants. It was warm and cozy. The seating is not cushioned so bring your own if needed. The food was so good! It is a smallish menu but the items are flavorful! Even the black beans! Order at the counter, get your identifying marker, get your own drinks and your door will show up shortly. Good food, nice people and a lovely atmosphere. Give them a try for a casual meals experience.

MUST TRY!!! Being from Arizona I'm always a bit skeptical trying Mexican food if the state isn't on the southern border. We went in on a weekday for lunch. Everyone spoke very little English which was a good sign of the possibility of good Mexican food. We ordered: Chips & Salsa, Tacos (Fish, Steak, Pastor (special)), Tamales (Chicken and Pork). The chips are uncut fried tortillas which some people might not like having to be pretty handsy with them. Each taco had incredible individualized fix-ins. It's a shame when other taco places do the same for every taco but they don't work with every protein. Tacos are a must try!! I preferred the Chicken Tamale more but both were good. The side of rice was tasty. Overall, this has to be the best Mexican food in Cincinnati!!!

This is straight up the best mexican you'll get in cincy. Fresh and made to order, with tons of flavor in each dish. I crave the steak tacos with goat cheese nearly every day

This place is amazing! A casual, delicious, Mexican street food spot. You order at the counter, find a seat at a cute picnic table and they the bring the food to you. You eat deliciousness and consider ordering more. We will be back!

If you are looking for a good taco you can't go wrong with Mazunte! The chicken tacos are my favorite the chorizo is a close 2nd. If you are like me and don't like onions be cautious while ordering because the chicken tacos have onions in them but they are big enough to be picked out and don't leave a taste.

Used to be iffy on Mazunte but now I'm all aboard. This place consistently delivers great food and margs! Breaded fish taco is my favorite and the tamales were great, preferred pork with mole sauce. Order at the register and grab a seat outside and you won't be disappointed. Classic taco shop vibes, nothing fancy, just really good, fresh food

Tons of people love this place but when we go here we are never overly impressed with the food! The chips and salsa bar is delicious and really fun but as far as the main entrees go we have tried several different things and haven't found anything we really like. We thought at first it was just a particular dish but after several tries I'd say the food is just okay. The atmosphere is nice and cozy!

I've been to this location and the one downtown. The food is delicious and the service is always super fast. We've always gone at the right time before the rush so we get to enjoy the atmosphere. Definitely get the big chips and the queso.

Reminds me of a more authentic Bakersfield. It's like I see what you're trying to do here but still could be a little better. The Al pastor taco was memorable. The margarita was also pretty good, though I didn't really understand how the set up worked until after. They have like a self-service area to ice and rim your cup before heading to the area where a staff member fills it. Honestly, for the margarita to be from a large pre-made batch, it was quite tasty. Will return eventually to try the salsas/guac... I did feel that if I had ordered, those could have enhanced my tacos. I like mine bursting with flavor/sauce.

The food at Mazunte Taqueria is definitely the star, though the decor is pretty cool. One orders when they walk in the door, so we weren't prepared. Thankfully, it wasn't too busy so we were able to quickly peruse the menu and make our choices. I don't recall what time we arrived, but it must have been close to opening (11 am). By the time we left the place was packed! I ordered the Tacos Dorados and Mark had the Enchiladas. We also ordered the Chips & Salsa bar. The Tacos Dorados were fantastic. I loved the crunch of the fried tortillas and all the wonderful cheese. Mark very much enjoyed his meal. The chips tasted fresh. They were definitely not from a bag. That's a huge plus. And the salsa (we tried them all) were also fresh and bursting with flavor. Don't pass on this because it costs money. The chips and salsa are TOTALLY worth it! We will definitely stop in again. I need to try some of the other tacos.

We love coming here. Some of the best tacos I've had. The place is not very big, but they have outdoor tables and also a climate controlled extension. The people that work there are always friendly and pleasant. The fish tacos are so good, but whatever you do, do NOT skip the salsa bar. Their house made chips are huge and the variety of salsa is so nice. The salsa verde is my favorite.

There's a reason this spot is so popular! We were lucky enough to visit in between the lunch and dinner hours, and had zero wait. It felt like you were stepping into a small restaurant in Mexico. Thanks to the music, overall decor and fabulous menu. We enjoyed the taco sampler with a veggie taco, filled with mushrooms, goat, cheese, black beans, and pickled onions, along side, the pork and chicken tacos. I would say the pork taco was probably our favorite but the veggie was a close second. I'm not much of a mushroom fan, but this one was pretty delicious. You can tell they put a lot of thought into each of their ingredients. We also ordered the maiden house guacamole with tortilla chips. My only regret was that we were trying to save room for dinner or we would have explored more of the menu. The tamales and blue corn enchiladas were definitely catching my eye. All the more reason to visit again. They offer a variety of seating options, both outdoor and indoor, and we really loved the look and feel of the skylight paneled room, and that seem to be where most people converged.

Memeiltas! A must try. I wasn't impressed with the rice but it helped balance. It was a bit too sticky for me. It's always busy and can be loud. But it's worth it for their food, salsas, and drinks.

I had high hopes but it was so subpar between 2 people we had 6 tacos not a single one was worth the hype unfortunately

I was quite disappointed after seeing the high reviews. The service makes no sense; for example, they offer "free refills" in chips and salsa but then give you a ticket and take it on your first fill and you have to awkwardly ask for refills and hope they remember you. You cannot get extra salsas (no self serve salsa bar) unless you buy said chips (and, of course, no pickled onion/jalapeño/etc bar). The only option for tortillas is double-thick corn tortillas (single per taco) -- no flour option which is what it is -- but they also make chips from the same tortillas and refuse to cut them. So, their "chips" are rock hard corn discs that I think are trying to be unique/quirky for the place, but end up being just kind of bad...

Order 1st, get drinks (Horchata) and condiments then find a seat! Indoor and outdoor seating! Food is brought to your table lightening fast! Excellent food! I had Chicken Tamales with white rice. It exceeded my expectations. I will return again and again! That 1 hour drive was worth it!

What an amazing find! This awesome little spot has a causal and friendly atmosphere. Quick ordering and service. The best tamales I've had in Cincinnati. And the tacos looks amazing. The menu had many options that will lead me back here. And the chips & salsa bar was a highlight. Can't b wait to go back!

I can't believe I haven't made a review for Mazunte, considering the amount of times I've been here. Their tacos are to die for, the guac is delicious, limey and homemade. They have killer strong margaritas for a great price. I forgot to take a picture of my tacos, but my favorite is the pick three; steak, pork, and fried fish. All the tacos have a ton of meat and great additional flavors. Service is always friendly and fast. Ambience of the restaurant is cute casual. Oh, and did I mention they make their tortilla chips fresh?

Solid service and good every time I've visited! Order, pick a table, grub- the space is cute and cozy with a variety of seating options inside and out. This visit we ordered the Chile relleno, pozole soup (not pictured) & the special mango margaritas- everything was fantastic. Cute lunch or date spot!

I am not much of a Mexican food fan, but I LOVE this place. The portions are small, as they probably are in Mexico. But the flavors are out of this world. I don't recall the dish I usually get, but it's always their tacos and I could probably eat 6 of them easily. I like their chips and salsa. It would be nice if the salsa came in bigger servings, but that just means I can get more more often. LOL.

Mazunte's Mexican food is truly magical. Having grown up in Arizona, I like to think I know a thing or two about tacos -- and this little Madisonville taqueria is doing everything right. I've visited twice -- my first was on a weekday evening during their dinner rush, and we had to wait 20ish minutes for our food, after waiting in line to order for about 15 minutes. Let me just tell you that these tacos are totally worth the wait!! Typically they'll get you your drinks and chips and dips while you're waiting, so just settle in with one of their margs and be patient. My most recent visit was also on a weekday, but around 3 p.m. This is an insider hack - we were the only people in the restaurant! If you don't like waiting for your food, definitely try to stop in during off-hours, although their team definitely cranks through orders pretty quickly. Of the different types of tacos that I've tried here, the Vegetable ones are easily my favorite. They're full of flavorful veggies, and topped with deliciously crumbly cheese. I also love that their tortillas (and chips) are all made in house! Thanks for being such a delicious dining option in the Oakley area, Mazunte, I can't wait to stop in again soon!

Amazing Mexican food! I cannot say it enough. Fun environment with indoor and outdoor seating options. Parking can be challenging at times so carpool if you can! When you come in you will order and then they will bring the food to your table! The Pozoe soup is amazing as well and a requirement for me to grab in the winter! My favorite tacos are by far the grilled fish tacos and the chicken! I typically order 2 fish and 1 chicken when I order. Then will grab a margarita and split chips and guacamole with whoever I go with.

So good! Employees polite & quick service! Food was fresh & hot. We had 2 entrees, chips and salsa bar, a beer & a margarita on rocks. (About $25 a person). My first time - great experience. Sat outside; weather was awesome, plenty of seating & chill atmosphere. 10/10 will return.

One thing that stands out to me is that they're actually open seven days a week. It is remarkably hard to find quality food in Cincinnati on a Monday. Their setting includes a wooden semi-enclosed deck which was perfect for a beautiful fall day. Even on a Monday, it was pretty busy, with someone ordering a set of tacos for what must have been a very large office standing in front of me and a variety of others coming in behind me. They have clearly marked vegetarian and GF options, and while the tacos looked good, I figured enchiladas would be more filling. My plate was quite splendid-looking. The veggies included mushrooms and some sort of squash, and a fresh bit of leafy greens on top really livened things up. It included rice, but not beans, which I might have ordered separately if I'd thought of it. I was, however, happy with the vanilla and cinnamon flavoring of the horchata which was poured for me by someone at a separate drink and appetizer stand. I liked the menu, the flavoring, and the setting. I might make a few more vegetarian-oriented changes, but for Mexican food in a Cincinnati suburb, this place delivered on quality.

I only give this four because of the drink situation. if you are not drinking a margarita, you will receive a small plastic cup to refill drinks with, and the water wasn't working correctly when we went. other than that, the food was amazing. My pork tacos were so juicy and flavorful. The guacamole was very fresh and queso super good! My friends both got the steak tacos and loved those as well, can't go wrong here!! Will definitely be coming back for more:)

The tacos are good and the veggie quesadilla was large. I didn't enjoy the salsa bar due to the very small cups of salsa. The margaritas are very weak too. I definitely enjoyed my meal but i wouldn't seek it out. The establishment is very clean Service is standard for quick serve restaurant.

This hip spots gives you exactly what you're expecting for great flavor every time! Margaritas, salsa, bottled soda pop, and bottled cerveza all mix with some top notch taqueria street eats. With tables inside and out, you'll be given a number for your order and your food will be brought to you. Helpful to know: this place can be packed, so a bit of patience while you wait for your blast of authentic flavors. Highly recommend sitting out in the porch.

I forgot to take the "before" picture! Before I dug into 3 heat levels of salsa. Before I started in on the creamy questo funding. Before I started sipping on this delicioso margarita! (I'm going to have to get 2--just sayin'!) Before I leave, I will be having a taco (or 2), too! I haven't been here in years--not since the 1st week they opened. I recall how fantastic and AUTHENTIC their food was then. It still is!! It's the 1st margarita I'm having here as their liquor license was still in-process back then. It is perfect. down, perfect. If it's all you come for, consider it a worthwhile journey. As for service--everyone is smiling and gracious. However, it is an "order-when-you-walk-in, find-a-table, then go-to-the-salsa/margarita-bar-for-service" kind of place. The do bring your food order to your table, though! I'm heading to refill my on-site made chips. Still have salsas to try and queso to finish! Doh!! They have a covered patio and covered multi-season area, too. Talk about some ambiance! Festive music in areas and "talking table" space in the covered patio. This is a trifecta winner you MUST try! Food, Srrvice, Ambiance = 5 stars x 3!!

Finally tried Mazunte! I was a little surprised by the tacos dorados, didn't realize it wasn't a typical taco. They also only have Al Pastor on Mondays or I would have had that. My friend got the Enchiladas and says this is her favorite place! Pretty small place with clearly authentic quinine. I laughed when I saw that the toilet paper holder was a stick screwed onto the wall. You don't have a server but you do order at the front and they bring it to you when it's ready.

A small no frills interior with limited seating. Food is ordered at the counter and brought to your table EXCELLENT tacos 10/10 recommend! Drinks are nothing special.

Amazing food and will make vegan friendly options. The Guacamole is the best since I last live on the west coast. Wish they had one in Atlanta Georgia

Mazunte always hits the spot! Great chips to eat with their salsa, guac or queso. They also taste great again the next day. I enjoy the tacos dorado and the tacos combo when I visit. Recently I also tried the chorizo tostadas and cleaned that whole plate. It can get very busy at times, and they've expanded their seating with an outdoor tented space.

Good food. Has an authentic taste. Cool setting. Really good guacamole and chips! Fish tacos were tasty.

I was in town for a quick work trip and was told that this is one of the most reviewed businesses in Cincinnati. Pretty rad, so I had to check it out. A coworker and I went around 2:30, so we beat the lunch rush and avoided the happy hour crowd. I noticed right away that there was a salsa bar to the left, fun decor throughout, and the service was friendly. We each got two tacos and shared the queso. It did not take long at all to arrive at our table and we dug in. I went with the fish tacos and they were huge. I could barely finish two but I did my very best because they were tasty. The queso was also solid and I very much enjoyed the crispy tortilla chips. This spot opened ten years ago and is locally owned. They serve all your favorite Mexican dishes from tacos and enchiladas to elote, chips and guac, and of course margaritas. I totally recommend you give them a try. Good for vegetarians and pescatarians too!

This was a place we went after reading reviews and it was really good. I got the veggie tacos and my husband got the veggie enchiladas. Really the best Mexican food I have had in Ohio. The atmosphere was ok. The food came out quickly. I would definitely go back.

Incredible tacos! I had beer battered fish, steak, and chorizo, and they were all great. Their takeout was fast and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend!

Found this place on YELP... what an unexpected dose of awesomeness!! Authentic , delicious & LOVE the self serve kind of margarita! They give you a cup, you dip it in lime juice, salt the rim add ice then take it to the corner for a fill up from the bucket. I was expecting to be disappointed ... but it was the best margarita !! And the claim that they are potent is the truth! The worse thing is I live 4 hrs south of this place! But from now on when I head North I'll be stopping here!!

Great pozole and tortillas made right in front of you. Mazunte is on our list of places to eat whenever we visit this area.

Absolutely love this place! The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was very friendly as if you were having lunch at a friends house in Mexico. Great service with friendly staff. Absolutely would recommend!

There's no denying my love for Mazunte. My friend coaxed me to get here for Brunch to try their Chilaquiles and I'm so glad I did. It was revolutionary. It was my first brush with it (so I'm not aware if it was authentic or not), but it tasted great. Absolutely recommend. The service was as usual. There was a line, but it moved pretty quick.

Fantastic authentic Mexican food. It's always packed which is a testament to their chefs. Their self serve margaritas are sooooo good. Be careful if you're driving one will probably get you a good buzz. The ambiance is cozy and warm with great service.

Legit, authentic Mexican food! I love it so much! Their chicken soup is amazing! It's spicy and flavorful. Their margaritas are good & STRONG! Staff is super nice and even the catering site is very friendly. They always have my catering order ready on time!

One of our favorite Mexican spots in the city! Def recommend the original Madisonville location over the rest. We got the veggie enchiladas, you can ask for it with the mole sauce! And we got the veggie tostadas with goat cheese on top. Always fresh ingredients and soo tasty. We also indulged in the salsa bar. Parking available in a lot and in the back! Take advantage of the fun patio during the summer! They also have a margarita bar and a case of cold beer and jarritos

The food tasted legitimately spoiled and the chips were hard as rock. Could only take 2 bites then we had to take it as a loss and just throw the food away and leave
