This place completely changed my perspective on what a good Italian hoagie is. It was almost life-changing. The freshly baked bread had a crisp exterior with a soft yet sturdy chew. The extra-toasted, heavy-handed sesame seeds add a pop of nuttiness. The freshly cut, robust cheese and high-quality meats shine through, with each bite exploding with flavor. Add some olive oil, vinegar, and the hot peppers they offer on the side, and boom—it’s the best hoagie you’ll ever have. For the price, you get a hoagie large enough to feed a small family, made with the highest quality ingredients by a small local business. There’s no reason not to give it a try.

Truly a hometown little Italian market located in the heart of Bristol PA. It's on a small side street and fits in with the surrounding homes. Family owned and operated for over 100 years. They are famous for the Italian Hoagie, 24 inches of Italian meats and sharp cheese. I was told, You can't get onions, because MOM doesn't like them. Well I ordered the Italian hoagie and it was delicious. The seeded roll and the sharp cheese you can't beat it. Parking can be hard but we'll worth the trip. It will run you $23

Their Italian hoagie is the best I've ever had. I LOVE it! It's very simple, but it's the high quality meat and cheese they use that makes the difference. I eat it with the vinegar and hot peppers. I moved out to the country, so every time we come to the area to visit my husband's family, we eat a hoagie and get an extra to take home! I've never been inside because they don't let anyone in.

Hands down the best Italian hoagie ever. The family who runs this place are also very friendly. One hoagie is enough at least 2 people, it’s around 2ft long. Call ahead to order - once they run out of bread for the day they can’t make any more hoagies. Worth the hype!

$24 for a hoagie is just ridiculous. I'm mean Really who in their right mind pays $24 for a hoagie??? Theres soo many fantastic sandwich shops around these days that you can order a great sandwich for more than half the cost of this $24 hoagie. I don't care if it's 2ft long, not too many people want a 2ft long hoagie for lunch. Pure craziness.I was there years ago & yes it was a tasty hoagie but back then they offered like 10-12inch hoagie which is about normal size. Not sure why the owners made the move to take everything off their menu, not let folks shop in the market & only offer $24 hoagies but nah I will definitely not participate in this nonsense. I'll just go to Finks who has a variety of incredible hoagies, Finks loves his customers.

Authentic Good quality and doesn't change, only possible negative is that the meat could be colder.. always seems to be room temperature. Throws me off a bit.

The best hoagies around. I'd wait in line for hours for one if I had too. Old school quality that doesn't change, you get the same every time. Do not let the price drive you away, they are huge and worth every penny.

Now with Cove it you can't enter... But you can always order and pick up! This is a mom and Pop business that's been around 100 years. Ordered 2 ft. hoagie. It was very good but only tomatoes are on it, no lettuce and onions and they won't add them to your hoagie by request. So strange, won't go back.

Mazzanti's had been on my radar for a long time. While I've only lived in this region for a couple of years, every time we cross the river and check out the town of Bristol it makes for a nice time. Aside from the riverfront park/pier area, there's a strip of mom & pop eateries and shoppes. So I planned a late morning visit and called in my order for "one hoagie" at 10:15 or so. The guy on the phone was very friendly and took down my name. After running an errand or two, my navigation app from a Yelp competitor pointed me to the residential street housing this century old local, family-run treasure. As I pulled up, I could already see the steady flow of in and out traffic. That had me wonder: is this a modern day sandwich trap house on this block? Well, yes. The product is amazing and will have you coming back for more! It survived the trip back to Bordentown just fine. The bread is seeded and comes in daily from Italian peoples bakery. Procuring your order is easy: walk up to the window (there may be a line), give your name, hand over your $20, and get the bag. It even had my name on a post-it, I felt like a VIP. Looks like it's walk-up only during COVID, that works for me. So what comes on their sub (sorry, hoagie)? I detected prosciutto, provolone, thinly sliced tomatoes, black pepper, and a little heat from some chili oil maybe? Very slight heat, nothing crazy. Perhaps there was some gabagool (as Tony calls it) but I didn't notice that. Who cares? The sandwich was delicious and lived up to the hype. The bread was fresh with crusty outside and soft inside, beautifully cradling the thinly-sliced and superb quality ingredients within. 2 of us achieved satiety for both lunch and dinner from a $20 torpedo. It may seem a little bare bones for an Italian sub/hero/wedge/hoagie, but the beauty is in the simplicity. Hats off to the owner for making it his way or no way. Oil/vinegar is provided in a ramekin, but you won't need it. I'll be back! It's places like Mazzanti's that make us lucky to live where we do, no matter what side of the river we lay our head at night. Here's to another 100 years.

Let me be one of many to reiterate ... this place is an absolute MUST try at least once, and I'd be surprised if you were disappointed... it's almost a weekly staple and must have at least 3 weeks out of the month. my wife who's a vegetarian absolutely loves their Three Cheese Sub, me personally always order the "Italian Hoagie" ... unmatched in my personal opinion... Call ahead and give it a try ... Guaranteed satisfaction!!!!

When I see so many five star reviews, I get curious. Stopped in today and satisfied that curiosity. Wow! What an amazing Italian hoagie! Due to Covid, they were not making individual sandwiches, so I said yes to the "large." Huge understatement! The large could feed six people. See pic. The seeded roll was fantastic and the meats so good. I could have eaten a pound of the sharp provolone by itself. I brought it back to the office and shared with three others. All have five stars. Can't wait to return. Trust the stars!

The best Italian hoagie I have ever had. Consistent and simple .... don't expect lettuce, expect the sharpest provolone and layers of real deal Italian meats (fresh prosciutto!), on a crispy seeded Italian People's Bakery roll. Oil and hot peppers always in small containers on the side. The market itself is a step back in time. Old fashioned Deli and the same scene every time. Mario's slicing meat, making the sandwiches and his family behind the counter ringing you up. Checkout area surrounded by Biscotti and Italian cookies. Been coming here for years and it never changes! A true gift from God and the best $18 money can buy.

A Bristol staple with a perfectly executed sandwich with such care and conscience that I say it's one of if not Thee finest representation of what a classic sandwich should be and can be. Absolutely one of my Favorite places to get a sandwich and a Pepsi.

You'd think that an Italian hoagie isn't a very complicated creature. Bread, cold cuts, condiments, tomato, cheese... And yet somehow 85% of the places that sell them aren't worth going to. Mazzanti's is at the very top of the other 15%. Excellent, fresh bread, great-quality meats, good sharp provolone, fresh tomatoes, a bit of light seasoning, and good peppers and red wine vinegar on the side. It's just that simple... but getting it right requires absolute commitment to buying the best ingredients every day. Best Italian hoagie you'll find anywhere. And it's huge. The photo is like a quarter of one.

Worth the drive from Philly but you need to split it and I have a good appetite. I love the flavor of the bread and the seeds but used to a stiffer bread like sarcone's. Meat was great quality but maybe could have used a bit more meat to balance the bread to meat ratio. Vinegar and oil were on the side which is smart since bread won't be soggy by the time you eat it.

Welcome back in time. The market is a hidden gem on a side street in Bristol. Reminds me of all the little deli's that I saw growing up in Philadelphia but since so much better. Family owned and operated. The Italian Hoagie is a thing of genius. Meats are fresh and great. Cheese is so sharp you could cut yourself on it. I've had alot of wonderful sandwiches but I think this is my favorite. Big enough for 3 people (or three meals). Why aren't you driving there right now?

Mazzanti's Market has been open for over 100 years and from what I understand they have been making the highest of quality of Italian hoagie the entire time. Staple to the community and a must try if you are ever in the state of Pennsylvania or America at that. Hands down the best Italian hoagie on the east cost and the world.

Mazzanti's is a small shop but don't let that deter you. They have the best imported meats and cheeses to make a fantastic sandwich. They're known for their 2 ft. Italian hoagie but you can get just about any type of sandwich or meat and cheese to take home. Start at the register to pick your favorite soft, fresh roll, tell them what you want on your sammie and it's ready is 5 minutes. We had a roast beef and American, classic Italian and prosciutto, salami and provolone. The roast beef was exceptionally tender and the prosciutto was correctly sliced slightly thicker. (The only reason to slice prosciutto paper thin is if you're using a lower quality meat or just eating it out of your hand) Mazzanti's prosciutto is most definitely high quality! Our hoagies were superb!! They also have an assortment of Italian desserts, biscotti and accompaniments like olives and peppers as well as some grocery items, chips, beverages and ice cream. The owners are super friendly and lovely to talk to. They've been in business over 100 years so I don't suspect they need my review but maybe you'll read this and take a road trip to Bristol to see what all the fuss is about. If you want their 2 ft. Italian hoagie make sure you order a day in advance!

So I'm here at 12:30 and they are sold out of sandwiches?....how does this happen??? Don't they offer to make sandwiches too...waste of time imo

I can't stop thinking about the Italian Special Hoagie I just ate minutes ago. This spot is the quintessential Italian Deli that is hands down the best local spot for an Italian. This will be on my list every time I come in the area. If you're reading this and thinking about coming here and perhaps a you're a bit far out, it's worth the drive no matter the time.

Their signature Italian hoagie is simply perfection. The combination of sharp provolone, prosciutto, capocollo ham, thin sliced tomatoes a little oregano sitting in one of the best Italian hoagie rolls I have ever tasted is unparalleled. It's worth driving over 40 minutes round trip to enjoy. Trust me it's worth your time.

Hands down, Best sandwiches around here! Do yourself the favor and call in the order though... They are a small family business and sometimes run out of bread depending on how many they sell due to their high standards of freshness. They are Not a huge franchise and can't afford to buy extra supplies just to throw it out later on. Very nice people and the owner is named Mario and they are true italians so don't dare ask them to put mayo on your sandwich bc he will yell at you!

Stopped in to Mazzantis after reading all of the great reviews. I called and ordered 3, 2 foot hoagies. Went with the Italian, turkey and ham. Upon arrival I was a bit skeptical. It's a little old deli in the middle of the block in Bristol. The staff was very friendly. The oder of the deli did catch me off guard but I figured I'm already here. I did find it strange that they don't offer onions for their hoagies nor do they put lettuce on the Italian. After the 20 minutes ride home I finally got to see these hoagies and they were everything I'd hoped for. The ingredients were fresh and they were seasoned just right. The Italian was far superior to the rest while the ham was a close second. The roll they use is fantastic!! The tomatoes were beyond fresh and bright red! They sharp Our company were raving over the hoagies and how good they were. I will surely be back. Bring cash! It's a cash only joint and I was unaware of that. Great hoagies and well worth the trip.

This is hands down the best Italian Hoagie EVER! Simple by design. They only make it one way. Famous line is " you wanna put that on it?, go home and ruin it" Order ahead near the weekend as demand is high and there is only so much bread. This is one of my first stops when traveling back home to Philly.

Came here for the first time from across the bridge based on a recommendation - Walked up to the screen door that had a sign asking to knock (Covid) - I order the 19 buck Italian special made and delivered in the Italians people bakery sleeve that the original loaf came in - absolutely fresh and really tasting using quality meats and tomato's. I did shred up some iceberg and slice a sweet onion on my slicer when I got back home as that's just my personal preference. Make sure you have a couple buds to share with as it's best to make it disappear the same day you get it.

Came in from out of town for a youth hockey tournament, and could not ask for a better giant Italian hoagie. Carryout only, but highly recommended!!

Great no frills two foot long Italian sub for $19. I might've thrown on some shredded lettuce and mustard, but the sesame seed bread is great as are the quality meats and cheese included. The sharp provolone is maybe the best I've had and really makes the sandwich. And you do get sliced peppers and olive oil and vinegar on the side so you can dress it as you like. A warning the red peppers, you get red and green peppers, the red peppers are really spicy and a little goes a long way. They are really delicious, just know the heat lingers on the tongue a while.

My husband has been dying to try their hoagies. So, today I picked up an Italian hoagie... all 20+ inches .... it was beautiful and smelled delish! We were three who were going to share this amazing looking sandwich. At first, we all thought . Wow, this is too big for us. Maybe Cris can take the leftovers home. Then, we sat down to eat it. First one slice each . Then, okay, let me have a little more.... then , a little more. Before we knew it we had eaten the entire thing!!! It was soooooooo good. You definitely have to have one .... or Two? We now want to make this our weekly ritual .

A great little throwback grocery story. Take the kids there so they can experience an "old school" local grocer before Super Wawa took over the world. When you walk inside, you'll think you're in Mr. Hooper's store on Sesame Street. Lots of everything packed inside, from Tastykake snacks to their own home made, traditional italian hoagie. Owner is a great guy. Pick out a fresh roll from the paper bag and watch him whip up a delicious hoagie right in front of your eyes...and you can't beat the price! I can't resist stopping in for a hoagie any time I am in Bristol. Heck, if I lived on Lincoln Avenue, pretty sure I'd walk down the street and buy lunch there every day!

$19 for a 24" plus hoagie might turn off the Subway yuppie types but that's all for the better - leave more for me to eat. Hoagiemaster Mario reminds me of Seinfeld's soup Nazi, don't tell him how else to make the thing. "You want to ruin my sandwich you go home and put whatever you want on it" and that's apropos. It can't get any better than how he hands it to you, unless you get the hot pepper and oil / vinegar care package they provide.

Ordered again, ahead this time, and just wanted to reiterate the sensational flavors and textures in their 2-foot hero (they call them hoagie's, but that's neither here nor there). Also, apparently there is also some prosciutto as well as a perfectly spiced capicola ham. I'm telling you, search far and wide and tell me there is a better Italian anywhere. I wait for your review.
