The Best Takeout Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week in San Francisco, Oakland, and the East Bay | Eater SF

"At Mazzetti’s, I keep returning to the derby cake — a chocolate‑and‑vanilla sponge layered with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and bananas — a classic from a family‑run Italian bakery that feels comforting, nostalgic, and reliably excellent." - Eater Staff

I love the bran muffins from here. I went twice on my trip, but I used to live in the area and would go when I could. The line does get long and they do get busy, but for a good reason. They're a Pacifica staple, and have really good pastries, baked good, and bread. Still good to go and pick up a few stuff to take with you if you're craving or for a party, but don't expect to be in and out. I've there at open and close and most times in the middle, and theyre always busy. It's a good solid place with good food and nice staff. Also, I do want to shout out the man who paid for my first order. I was struggling a bit with pushing my stroller and holding my fussy baby, and it was an extremely kind gesture and reminded me why I missed Pacifica. I did cry a bit haha. Thank you a lot, sir.

The Pride of Pacifica is what my friends call Mazzetti’s Bakery especially for their Derby Cake! It’s chocolate, bananas, strawberries, vanilla, and their home made whipped cream which is so light and not too sweet. The cake is SO good! My friend gets it for her children’s birthday parties and everyone eats the whole thing up and takes seconds home. I like how it’s not too sweet, very light and the fresh bananas and strawberries are are a perfect touch!

Google
Absolutely love Mazettis! Their cakes have the perfect balance of flavor & sweetness. We got our wedding cake from Mazzetti's & loved it so much, we decided to get a small version of it for our anniversary (chocolate & cherry filling) & will definitely continue the tradition annually.

I GOT A DELICIOUS CAKE FROM THIS BAKERY. I NEVER BEEN HERE BEFORE AND BELIEVE ME ILL COME BACK. THE CAKE WAS MOIST AND NOT TOO SWEET. FULL OF FRESH FRUIT AND FLUFFY CUSTARD…, YUMMY I CANT WAIT TO TRY OTHER PASTRIES.

Google
First off the customer service I experienced was top notch. The Bran muffins are delicious but the tiramisu was underwhelming. The pumpkin cheesecake was a tad sweet for me.

Google
Omg. Where have you been?? I had to look for Tiramisu cake for my upcoming brother in law’s birthday party. Plenty of parking outside. The line was out the door but yet we were in and out in no time. We bought a slice of tiramisu (sold by slice only) omg. It’s one of the best tiramisu I have tasted. But wait they also sell other things. They have Focaccia, taste almost like the North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco (the one known for their focaccia). Omg. Also, their danishes are huge.. like huge.. I will be back to try other things.

Google
It’s a bakery. A famous one. My friend bought her wedding cake there. She only had a week and they were extremely accommodating. I wasn’t particularly fond of the top of the cake. The bottom layer was chocolate and strawberries. The upper layer was white cake and bananas. Too much fruit in a wedding cake. But the icing!!! OMG. Whipped cream but thicker & more stable. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s really good. My apologies for the picture. I decorated it with fresh roses, but when I turned around to take it, it had already been well savored 🤣.

Google
Where do I start!?! Mazzetti’s, a staple in Pacifica for over 50years is a gem to visit when anyone stops by Pacifica it’s a must!! From the cookies alllll the way to the delicious derbies your taste buds will go crazy for! Yelp
Okay, long overdue since I been a customer here since 2014 and I'm going for the Yelp Elite so here. I have to talk about this bakery because it's seriously a gem. The first time I ever tried their Derby Cake was at a Christmas party, and wow... life-changing. I've been a fan ever since! They have muffins (their bran muffin is my fave), donuts, cookies, cupcakes, pies and even these little "emergency cakes" that are perfect when you need a last-minute dessert fix. And they have derby cakes on deck! Oh, and coffee too, which makes it way too easy to stop by in the morning. And let me just say -- their focaccia bread?! So good. Moist, flavorful, and they came out with a jalapeño one that has just the right kick. The price is very reasonable too. I'm surprise they don't charge more! I feel like you go anywhere else in the Bay, it would be double the price for their pastries! That's another reason this is my go to spot! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming -- you can tell it's family-owned because they put so much heart into everything. Honestly, it's one of those bakeries you end up telling all your friends about (clearly, I'm doing that now). See my pictures and you can tell I always come to Mazzatti's for family occasions!

Yelp
Mazzetti's is well worth the drive from the peninsula. The cakes are HUGE and like half the price of other places in the area AND taste great. They're obviously known for their Derby cake, but other things there are delicious as well. For example: a WHOLE blueberry coffee cake is $10. Go to any coffee shop and that's at least $5-6 a SLICE. And everyone that I always end up giving some to has said its so good. I also really enjoy their black and white cookies, tho i wish the "white" was a bit more like the chocolate frosting and not so...lacquered? i dont know what the right bakery term is. Service can be hit or miss - but generally they are nice and quick.

Yelp
I will never understand the line around the curb or the traffic this establishment causes. People rave about the scones, the muffins, the cake....all of which taste no better than offerings at a continental breakfast at a Hampton Inn. Overly sweet, often stale, and wholly forgettable. I have returned multiple times to try different recommendations and each time I am disappointed. I am all for supporting a long standing family business but wow, just because something has been there for a while does not make it good.
google avatar

Tracy W.

Yelp
Based on Yelp reviews, we stopped to bring a box of assorted donuts home for the family. Old-school glazed donuts that these newer donut franchises can only hope to compare to. My favorite donuts will have a slight crunchy exterior and soft yeasty, pillowy, interior. Not a super sweet donut fan. Apple fritters are excellent. Just the perfect fry of crunchy exterior, chunks of apples on top, and yeasty soft interior. Line starts early at 630 am opening. Very efficient service. Will definitely bring home more when I am in the area.

Yelp
We got Mazzetti's for the office specifically to have both cannoli's and donuts. The service were great! I appreciate how they arranged the box and kept it neat. The cannoli's were frozen which was tough because I couldn't wait to eat them! They looked so good! The donuts were solid, they provided a lot of classic flavors. Fluffy and good, no frills. The cannoli's were pretty good, I think this was a good office sweets share. It is really tough to find a great cannoli around here. I think this is a great local business to support!

Yelp
I love their cakes! We preordered a derby cake for pickup the next day because I was told by a friend they don't offer slices. Writing is no charge but any other decorations has an extra charge. My husband picked up the cake and thought they were all very nice! Great service. Cake is so amazing. Very light, fruit is fresh. The icing is amazing. The icing wasn't too sweet. So amazing. I didn't even care that we couldn't buy slices of the cake. It's just my husband and I and the cake was gone in a few days. Even a day or so later and the fruit still tasted great. We'll be back next time we're in Pacifica. I think this will be our go to.

Yelp
Amazing place for custom cakes! They made us the cutest vintage style cake for my friends birthday party and completely exceeded my expectations. Both Helena and Amaya were so sweet and helpful during the ordering and picking up processes. And shoutout to the decorators for making our cake dreams come true!

Yelp
Mazzetti's Bakery is an Italian-American bakery located in Pacifica. It's been about 12 years (they've been around 50!) since I last visited and my palate has definitely changed from old-school baked goods. Just a preference as others enjoyed.. Unfortunately, based on items purchased, I would rate them 3 stars (adding that half star for family): :: Lemon bar - their version has some cloyingly sweet, bright yellow, gel-like substance for the lemon (no natural lemon tang) with streusel on top. Not a fan. :: Apple Coffee Cake - simple cake, with some odd yellow streusel (canned apple glaze) on top and very nutmeg, forward. Something my grandma/grandpa would've enjoyed with their morning coffee...okay sister liked it too! Sadly, wasn't for me. Great price at $10! :: Raisin-cinnamon scone - buttery, melt-in-your-mouth after a 10 sec heat up in the microwave - would get this again :: Maple-glazed old fashioned donut - I prefer the raised donuts (sister got the wrong one *shaking fist*) but it was good. The flavor was actually distinct with crisp edges and soft interior. Their popular items: Derby cake: white cake with strawberries and a chocolate bottom layer with bananas. Unfortunately, they don't sell by the slice so will have to buy a whole cake and share for next time. Focaccia and cannolis seem to be the draw as well. I saw many people grabbing focaccia from the 3 options: cheese, pizza and a pepperoni and buying cannolis by the box: 8 for $36. Overall, great spot for REASONABLY priced cakes, pies, donuts, cupcakes, various cake slices (sans Derby cake), scones, cannolis, focaccia and old-school danishes. Coffee and indoor seating available to enjoy your sweets. Place gets busy in waves...went on a weekend around 215pm and wasn't busy...then a rush of people arrived after. Staff friendly and get the lines moving. Would return to try the Derby Cake, grab some focaccia, and get a cinnamon-raisin scone or donut with some coffee. Street parking only

Yelp
I loved my first time here but the next few times haven't been as good. The fudge cake and the derby cake aren't consistent. Sometimes it's moist. Other times, it's dry and stale. This time, I got the tiramisu and everyone loved it. I can't say the same about the cranberry muffin I got. The cranberry was unpleasantly sour and I normally love sour. I couldn't finish it.

Yelp
If you've never tried Mazetti's Bakery, you're missing out on a true classic! Their Derby Cake is absolutely legendary--moist, rich, and perfectly balanced with that signature filling and frosting that makes every bite unforgettable. This cake isn't just dessert, it's tradition. We've decided it's going to be our kids' staple childhood cake--the one they'll always remember for birthdays and celebrations. Every time we bring one home, it's gone in no time!
google avatar

Yelp
Having tried a slice of Mazzetti's cake awhile back, we enjoyed it so much that we wanted to come check it out! There are tons of baked goods when you arrive from cakes, cupcakes, bread, cookies, scones, donuts, muffins, pies etc it can be a bit overwhelming! They also have online ordering which gives you more time to think and order in advance for pick up. We went with a large cherry pie, an apple popover and apricot popover. Pastries and pie are sweet, soft and easy to share. If you're craving your next dessert, come check out Mazzetti's!

Yelp
I ordered a 1/4-sheet, 2-layer Mango Tres Leche cake (25-30 servings) just five days before my event, and Mazzetti's Bakery came through beautifully! The flavor was amazing -- sweet but not too sweet -- with a fresh mango filling that paired perfectly with the creamy Tres Leche base. The texture was rich, moist, and smooth, and my guests couldn't stop raving about how delicious and unique it was! The design matched my reference photo closely, and once I added my topper (from Etsy's Custom Cake Charms by CoopersCustoms17), it looked even better in person. Most bakeries I called needed 1-2 weeks' notice for custom cakes, but Mazzetti's accepted my order with less than five days' notice -- and at just $60 for a custom 9"x13" two-layer cake, it was an incredible deal. There was a small piping mix-up ("Joann" instead of "Johann"), but the cake still looked and tasted fantastic. Friendly staff, quick pickup, and delicious results. I'd definitely order from Mazzetti's Bakery again!

Yelp
It is summer solstice Day 2025 and I'm back at mazzetti's for some more early morning start-my-day stuff! Mazzetti's Bakery continues to be an excellent local bakery. No need to visit the big name grocery store across the highway, because mazzetti's creations will always be of higher quality, and a better value too! If like me, you are here for a morning start up, you will find tasty donuts and coffee With the quality, and at a price no other chain can match. Easy to find, sometimes hard to park because of the limited parking spaces. Service always be quick as possible with good attitudes. If you're one of those people that love loyalty programs, mazzetti's Bakery partners with Clover to offer a points program that will enable you to get a Mazzetti's Derby cake for free. I've already gathered enough points over time to have redeemed enough points over time for four derby cakes. So that tells you how much I appreciate their products, and their loyalty program too.. As before, regular coffee and donut was delicious. The atmosphere was lively this morning. With two sets of tables filled with people chatting and solving world problems. Hopefully everybody remembered to post their solutions in social media, or use them out in the real world. I recommend Mazzetti's Bakery to anyone near enough to enjoy their products.

Yelp
I don't even think I could count at this point how many amazing cakes we've enjoyed from Mazzettis over the years. Their cakes have become synonymous with celebration in our house. From custom wild ideas I've asked them to do (1st birthday race car smash cakes, race car cakes, pastel cotton candy themed cake) to the simple yet so elegant ones (multiple baptism cakes, work celebration cakes, holidays) everytime I have a party you bet it's Mazzetis desserts on the table. We also LOVE going for the famous bran muffins, focaccias, huge croissants and of course the cannolis. Don't skip out on their grab and go cookie packages either. Always a fresh treat for your morning coffee. Staff is the sweetest. Quality is always consistent. Lastly we've seen their name pop up at a few community events lately. To see how they show up and give back is amazing. Makes me want to continue to support them even more.

Yelp
Heya, Yelpers! It's easy to share the bestest of the best birthday cake decorations when you find the best cake decorator. I found Adriana at Mazzetti's who always delivers. All of her cakes make a presence at any occasion. Her cakes put the ooooooooooooh's and ahhhhhhhhhhhh's in the mouths of your guests. What a great feeling it gives me when everyone is overwhelmed with the cake! Yup, money well spent. This last cake project was for my nephew/godson's 7 year old son. Minecraft? Ahhhhh, what the heck? This old auntie is clueless, but after doing a bit of homework... yup, got it! I contacted Adriana and she already envisioned what she was going to do with the Minecraft theme. This gal is on top of it! So, let me share the fun and creative cake that we all shared in the photo below. Thank you once again, Adriana. You are definitely blessed with whipped cream and tip decorating skills!

Yelp
I stopped by to try the cannolis because I saw some people recommend this shop. The shop looks quaint and old school, which I found charming. The service was prompt and friendly. It was ~$41 for my box of 9 cannolis. I'm not typically fond of maraschino cherries, but I didn't hate them in the cannolis since they added a nice fruitiness and slight almond flavor when eaten together. The cannoli shells were crisp and flaky. I was pleasantly surprised by the not too sweet filling which was also dotted with mini chocolate chips and lemon zest. I don't think the zest imparted a lot of citrusy flavor but I didn't mind. The amount of filling in each cannoli was inconsistent though, we had some that were underfilled in the middle. Overall, I think any cannoli lover would be pleased with Mazzetti's! It's definitely a solid cannoli. They also have cake, donuts, pies and other baked goods but I only tried the cannolis this time.

Yelp
I have been going to Mazzettis for 45 years. I always loved their chocolate old fashioneds, buttermilk balls and the bran muffins are amazing! unfortunately I was diagnosed with celiac disease and can't have gluten- So I'm sad that I can't go here anymore. A friend went and brought me a chocolate dipped macaroon- and they packed it in it's own box to avoid cross contamination. It was delicious!

Yelp
This has almost a daily visit for me since we are here for a few weeks visiting thr west coast. With so many great places we kno2 back home, we were excited to find a local, family owned bakery. And this place is busy! Expect a line bit never a long wait. From fresh breads, croissants and muffins, to Danish ( and a pie that look like a combo of many Danish options donuts and apple pie (where the apples were actually cooked) and so much more..we tried something new and went back for a favorites, FRESH! A fave was the tray of buns we could put in the freezer and grab as needed for sandwiches or with a meal. Loved the blueberry muffins!! Worth the few minutes drive! I see that have a prepaid process and they do a lot of custom cakes. When we are home I may have to order and deliver a cake to family here!!
google avatar

Long C.

Yelp
Please stop coming, the line is long enough already. This place has solid sweet treats. But my favorite is the focaccia. The cannoli is amazing and the carrot cake as well.
google avatar

Joyce S.

Yelp
I was skeptical to order a cake over phone. Castor was reassuring, helpful and knowledgeable. She gives great suggestion on the cake detail. I order a derby cake 1/4 sheet for party of 25. Cake was moist with banana & strawberries fillings. Icing was not too sweet. My first derby cake and definitely not my last one. Reasonable prices. I also pick up some honey bran muffins and cannolis. Credit or cash payment. Street parking.
google avatar

Carrie Z.

Yelp
We took a chance and custom ordered a banana cream pie. It did not disappoint! Crisp, flaky crust. Lots of bananas in good custard. Paid online, and just walked in to pick it up. It's a pain to confirm orders by phone, but it's worth it. Next up, chocolate cream pie! See ya soon, Mazzetti's!
google avatar

J. S.

Yelp
The pumpkin pie and the cheesecake were the perfect dessert for our Thanksgiving dinner. Thank you! We're coming back for more.
google avatar

Yelp
The Best cakes! So moist and delicious!! Not too sweet just right!!! Yuuuuummmmyyyyyy

Yelp
My family and I have ordered Mazzetti's Derby cake for years now. The quality/taste never misses, and we still can't get enough of this cake! Other than cakes, they also have a numerous pastries, always fresh, and reasonably priced. If you're looking for a cake for an event, they accept online orders in varying sizes and flavors of cake. I ordered the Derby cake recently, I placed the order online and all went smoothly once picked up. This bakery hasn't changed much since we started coming about 10 years ago but I honestly think the ambiance makes it a safe haven for all the locals!
google avatar

Yelp
Great sweet treats and good service. I work at a nearish by restaurant and every time someone brings in a Mazzetti's cake my mouth waters and I secretly hope they offer me a slice lol. Go to for an everyday goodie to a special occasion. There are tables and chairs but take-away is my preference with lots of beach access nearby to enjoy my treat with an ocean view.

Yelp
My husband and I got married in December and ordered several cakes from Mazzetti's - we had a 2-tier round cake that we cut for our photos along with two half-sheets that we served. During the cake selection process, we communicated with Angela from the bakery and ordered several sample boxes. She responded to our questions promptly and provided clear guidance as to what to expect during the process. Our cakes were banana nut with white buttercream, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and a white cake with raspberry filling. We ultimately went with four flavors because they were all delicious and we couldn't decide - we also wanted options for our guests. Our guests loved them! We had 120 guests and leftover cake (which we loved eating in the days that followed our event). Delivery was seamless the day-off the event. Mazzetti's also had a more competitive price than other bakeries we visited along the peninsula.
google avatar

Ziyan C.

Yelp
Good spot to get a birthday cake! Everyone was asking me where I ordered it. I got the ultimate Asian compliment: "Not to sweet." :) I ordered 24 hours in advance online. The cake was ready on time, but there was a huge line to pick up (there is no separate line for online pickup). We got a 10x14 Fresh Custard Cake. It says serves 35-40 but probably could easily have served 50 people - it was a very TALL cake. Total cost was $93.54 including tax/tip.
google avatar

Jocelyn L.

Yelp
My mom got me a birthday cake from here this year, and I really enjoyed it. It had this really charming homemade look and taste to it, very old school and cute. The cake was chocolate, very moist and soft, layered with fresh fruits of your choice - she chose banana for one, and strawberry for another! The frosting was great too, not too sweet. This was a delicious cake, hit the spot. There was something just so satisfying about it! If in the area, would definitely check out this place again for another cake for a celebration!

Yelp
loooong overdue review! Mazzetti is my happy place. everything they have is really good. from the derby cake, cupcakes, bran muffin- it's all soo good. there are times when the line is out the door but that should tell you something. and the staff- all very nice folks! and the fact that they make donations to local schools is an added bonus in my book!
google avatar

Joriene M.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Mazzetti's Bakery is a Pacifica staple that serves a variety of delicious desserts and pastries. My favorite is their Derby Cake, which is a chocolate and vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting, bananas, and strawberries. I also love their focaccia bread. This time, we went with an assortment of donuts, with my favorites being the maple and chocolate raised donuts. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: very reasonable * Wait Time: minimal on an early Saturday morning, but the line can get long * Service: good * Parking: street parking can be tricky. They don't have a parking lot * Ambiance: it's a classic family-owned bakery
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Two words- DERBY CAKE. Specifically one layer of chocolate cake and one layer of vanilla cake- literally the best of both worlds!! The strawberries and bananas are always sweet, our go-to for any function/party/event/celebration!
google avatar

Marah H.

Yelp
My family has been raving about this place since we stopped in during our vacation to San Francisco. They loved the donut variety and believe me they ordered just about every single one. I thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry muffin with a cup of tea. We sat inside and ate while the morning rush passed through. This bakery has so much to offer and staff are overjoyed to help you. They have several large tables and a coffee/tea station if you'd like to purchase a cup of coffee.

Yelp
3.5*** My favorite here is their popular derby cake. It is pretty much vanilla or chocolate cake (or both if you pre-order ahead) with fresh strawberries and bananas inside. I used to love Mazzetti's Bakery but over the years, it has gone down in service and in quality. Last year, I pre-ordered and paid for my son's birthday cupcakes, a Derby cake, and the small personal size cake for his 1st birthday. I picked out specific colors to match his animal theme party. When my siblings went to pick up my order, the workers could not find it. I texted my siblings the receipt. Then the workers realized they messed up because they missed it, so they had to rush the order and gave me whatever was available. I still ended up getting the cupcakes, derby cake, and personal size cake, but it delayed the start of our party because those were part of our dessert table and decorations. As soon as the desserts arrived, I added the animal decors. This year, for my son's second birthday, I ordered a dozen cupcakes from Mazzetti's Bakery again! It was because it was close to home and still affordable (unlike some places that charges $5-7 per cupcake) with parking. If it was not due to convenience for parking, I would order from Noe Valley Bakery because their cupcakes tasted much better. This time, I got to try Mazzetti's Bakery cupcakes. I tried the red velvet and chocolate. WOW, they were so sweet! I threw half the red velvet one away because it tasted just like sugar. The chocolate one was not too strong in flavor so it was kind of disappointing. Next time, I would have to pre-order cupcakes from Noe Valley or even get it at Luckys since they actually tasted better than here and not overly sweet. The only thing I would get here from now on would be the derby cake. Note: Get the derby cake! I tried their focaccia bread in the past and it was quite plain in taste.

Yelp
I have been coming here for baked goods for so many years. I can't believe that I have not yet written a review for this fantastic bakery! My favorite is the original Derby cake. The cheese cake is excellent too. You may have a wait a little for your turn but the staff here are super efficient, friendly , and helpful to take your order. The ambiance is always pleasant, happy, and awesome. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
Tasty and delicious cakes. The decoration and designs are excellent. Different flavors to choose from . Pastries care abundant. Lots of beverages. This place is very nice. The people are really nice and friendly. Great cakes for different occasions.

Yelp
My children beg for Mazetti donuts every Saturday... Between that, the cupcakes, the cake, but most importantly the service there's nowhere else we like to go for our pastries. It is a household name up and down the peninsula and beyond. With weight lines out the door they consistently prove why they are a Bay Area staple.
google avatar

May D.

Yelp
I had their delicious Derby Cake at a birthday party that I knew I was going to order this cake for a family function of 100 people. Even in though it was out of my way, I went to Mazzetti's to place my sheet cake order and explain design specifications. I was in Sweet Tooth heaven to see all the offerings Mazzetti's had from cookies, to donuts, cakes, cannolis, coffee... I was like a kid in a candy store wanted to try everything. This is the kind of bakery you would want to make sure you don't miss anything displayed in their cabinets. There are tables to dine in and hangout. Conveniently located at the corner of Oceana Blvd and Manor Drive, it's a local favorite. The few times I have been there, I have seen lines out the door, yet they provide fast service with several staff waiting on customers one after the other. If only Mazzetti's was near me, I would frequent this place often, but probably a good thing or my sugar intake would be to the roof! LOL Highly recommend to stop by Mazzetti's if ever in Pacifica to satisfy that sugar craving. It's family owned too. To try their famous Derby Cake, you'll have to order a 8 inch round cake as they do not sell it by the slice.

Yelp
Mazzetti's pastries were amazing -- fresh, delicious, and absolutely worth the hype. No complaints about the quality of the food at all. However, the experience in the bakery itself was very confusing. There was no clear direction for where the line started or how customers were being helped. Two of the younger workers, young boys ,behind the counter were busy chatting about which pastries they liked instead of assisting customers, while an older woman was offering random tips instead of organizing the 15-20 people who were waiting. My husband and I should have been second in line, but instead she just called out for "anyone" to help, ignoring the order that customers had already tried to create themselves. The lack of structure and attention to the guest experience really took away from what could've been a perfect visit. The pastries are fantastic -- management just needs to take a closer look at how the front-of-house team is managed to match the quality of the product they serve.

Yelp
Mazzetti's bakes the best donuts, cakes, pies, cupcakes, special holiday confections and more. But on top of that, on the rare occasion when communication goes awry, they knock themselves out to make sure the problem is fixed ASAP. And their prices are the BEST!!! I am addicted to their chocolate old fashioned donuts, all the different kinds of chocolate cupcakes and cake slices, and now their holiday cookie trays. YUM!!!!!!! The owners and employees work very hard to ensure we customers are happy. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Yelp
Got a derby cake to celebrate a birthday. I ordered online and it was a simple process. In my special requests, I've asked for pumpkins instead of balloons. After I paid online, the bakery called to inform me that it's an extra $5 charge that's due when picking up the cake. The cake is one of the lighter American cakes I've eaten. Reminds me Asian fruit cake which is nice! It's layered with generous amounts of strawberry and banana. The cake doesn't last that long and should be eaten within 2-3 days.

Yelp
My favorite bakery in Pacifica. Here's why; all around I'll give this place a solid rating in terms of the overall speed and efficiency, quality and the cost of the goods here. Overall, it's fantastic to find a donut that's reasonably priced. I have been to two other spots recently that have been wildly overpriced (one in RWC and one in BUR that both charged me $2.50 for a donut). The donut here today for son was priced at .90. I can do that. They're known to have long lines, but the staff keeps people moving. They seem to actually care about getting people through the line, I can really appreciate that. The pies, other pastries, cupcakes and cookies are also wonderful at this place.

Yelp
Our go-to place for cakes to bring to the office. The carrot cake and derby cake were big hits. The pick up process needs some work but other than that this place is great

Yelp
Line out the door on Saturday, but it moved relatively quickly. We got a slice of raspberry cake, small blueberry muffin, blueberry cheesecake, and a maple old-fashioned donut. Everything came out to about $13 after tax, which I thought was reasonable. Cheesecake was the highlight! Muffin was soft, tender, and tasted homemade. Maple donut was good but tasted a bit of old oil. I would skip the cake slice. Service was friendly. I will come back to get a derby cake sometime!

Yelp
I saw all the derby cakes and knew for next celebration had to pick one up. Ordering was easy in person. Choose the size, flavor and writing if needed. The 8" was more than enough for a birthday celebration for 6. The cake is massive and heavy. I liked that it was not overly sweet and the fruit inside was a great touch. Not a whole lot of seating but a lot of different goodies to try. The service is nice and prices are very reasonable. Street parking Cash/card

Yelp
Hands down the best bakery in the Bay Area!! Every weekend my kids ask for doughnuts from Mazzetti's. It's a family favorite we've been going to for years and they are consistently delicious!! Their doughnuts- especially chocolate glazed and chocolate old fashioned, their chocolate croissants, bran muffins and cake doughnuts are some of our favorites. We also get a derby cake for every special occasion!! Their cupcakes are also amazing! Their customer service to top tier and we love the family friendly feel we get every time we stop by. I couldn't recommend Mazzetti's more for any special event or just a special treat during the week!

Yelp
Their derby cake is divine, and not too pricey at that! The cupcakes are very good as well, especially the chocolate and red velvet. The chocolate and cheese muffin is another winner - very rich and moist. They may be the best makers of coconut macaroons too! I don't mind driving to Pacifica for these goodies!

Yelp
I remember as a kid back in the 80s, we would stop to grab donuts and other baked goodies as a treat at Mazzetti's Feels like eons ago, but the same long-established practices of friendly customer service and excellent product still continue at this 50yr old bakery. Even back then the donut holes would be warm and fresh, before we went crabbing at the pier. The focaccia is divine here...forgot to take a picture so we will definitely come back for more delicious pastries! The young lady who helped us was very sweet and even offered to add the birthday greeting on our Derby Cake! Vibes will always be homey and comfortable, w/ some sweet smells from the oven. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I've been going here for the last 8 years for cakes, pies and stop before work for pastries ,gift cards and coffee. The elderly lady at the counter has been rude since first time going there. Heaven forbid she has to repeat herself or walk to the back which is a real inconvenience for her. Everything and everyone in there is great with the exception of her.
