The Best Takeout Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week in San Francisco, Oakland, and the East Bay | Eater SF

"At Mazzetti’s, I keep returning to the derby cake — a chocolate‑and‑vanilla sponge layered with whipped cream, fresh strawberries and bananas — a classic from a family‑run Italian bakery that feels comforting, nostalgic, and reliably excellent." - Eater Staff

Where do I start!?! Mazzetti’s, a staple in Pacifica for over 50years is a gem to visit when anyone stops by Pacifica it’s a must!! From the cookies alllll the way to the delicious derbies your taste buds will go crazy for! The service is amazing with friendly staff greeting everyone as they walk in and makes you feel like you came home. Once again stop by it’s a must try!!

Google
Omg. Where have you been?? I had to look for Tiramisu cake for my upcoming brother in law’s birthday party. Plenty of parking outside. The line was out the door but yet we were in and out in no time. We bought a slice of tiramisu (sold by slice only) omg. It’s one of the best tiramisu I have tasted. But wait they also sell other things. They have Focaccia, taste almost like the North Beach neighborhood in San Francisco (the one known for their focaccia). Omg. Also, their danishes are huge.. like huge.. I will be back to try other things.

The guy that helped us on 6.20.25 Thank you!! It was my birthday and he was super patient with me asking questions. The teddy graham cracker beach tiny cake was perfect ! Tasty and cute! My parents loved the carrot cake slice and my husband loved his chocolate cupcake.

Google
Mazzetti’s is a local gem. Everything about the bakery feels like family and tradition. I grew up going to Mazzetti’s, and now have the joy of taking my son in for weekend donuts. It’s so special that the next generation of Pacifica’s youth will get to have their special occasions celebrated with Mazzettis delicious cakes and treats. Their staff is always warm and patient, and I appreciate their eagerness to help. A few favorites to try: wreath cake, donuts, cake slices (or a whole cake lol), pumpkin cream cheese muffins, and apple strips! There are so many yummy options you really can’t go wrong!

Google
It’s a bakery. A famous one. My friend bought her wedding cake there. She only had a week and they were extremely accommodating. I wasn’t particularly fond of the top of the cake. The bottom layer was chocolate and strawberries. The upper layer was white cake and bananas. Too much fruit in a wedding cake. But the icing!!! OMG. Whipped cream but thicker & more stable. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s really good. My apologies for the picture. I decorated it with fresh roses, but when I turned around to take it, it had already been well savored 🤣.

My husband bought assorted pastries and a cake for my birthday. The apple strip, eclair and cannoli were great! Not sweet and just the right temperature (cold and just a little bit frozen but you can easily bite into it). The cake was a bit sweet to my liking and a little bit dense. It would be so much better if with reduced sweetness and lighter, less dense sponge.

Google
It's a tradition to get my yearly birthday cake from here. Always the chocolate derby cake. Usually a friend buys it for me but this year I got it myself. Since I was there, I also tried the pepperoni focaccia and bought a plain croissant. All was perfect and delicious!

Robert A.

Google
I would rate this bakery as ZERO stars. I do NOT recommend Mazzetti’s bakery. For two years in a row they have messed up my order for a birthday cake. The first year they made the wrong cake, and this year they didn’t even bother to make it. Jessie B was the employee who assisted with the order. Of course she’s off today. I do appreciate the other staff trying to offer something else for a replacement. In the end they just refunded me for the cake they didn’t make. Unfortunately your daughter only turns 21 once and they have truly ruined her special day

Yelp
If you've never tried Mazetti's Bakery, you're missing out on a true classic! Their Derby Cake is absolutely legendary--moist, rich, and perfectly balanced with that signature filling and frosting that makes every bite unforgettable. This cake isn't just dessert, it's tradition. We've decided it's going to be our kids' staple childhood cake--the one they'll always remember for birthdays and celebrations. Every time we bring one home, it's gone in no time!

Yelp
I loved my first time here but the next few times haven't been as good. The fudge cake and the derby cake aren't consistent. Sometimes it's moist. Other times, it's dry and stale. This time, I got the tiramisu and everyone loved it. I can't say the same about the cranberry muffin I got. The cranberry was unpleasantly sour and I normally love sour. I couldn't finish it.

Yelp
Good spot to get a birthday cake! Everyone was asking me where I ordered it. I got the ultimate Asian compliment: "Not to sweet." :) I ordered 24 hours in advance online. The cake was ready on time, but there was a huge line to pick up (there is no separate line for online pickup). We got a 10x14 Fresh Custard Cake. It says serves 35-40 but probably could easily have served 50 people - it was a very TALL cake. Total cost was $93.54 including tax/tip.

Yelp
Mazzetti's Bakery is an Italian-American bakery located in Pacifica. It's been about 12 years (they've been around 50!) since I last visited and my palate has definitely changed from old-school baked goods. Just a preference as others enjoyed.. Unfortunately, based on items purchased, I would rate them 3 stars (adding that half star for family): :: Lemon bar - their version has some cloyingly sweet, bright yellow, gel-like substance for the lemon (no natural lemon tang) with streusel on top. Not a fan. :: Apple Coffee Cake - simple cake, with some odd yellow streusel (canned apple glaze) on top and very nutmeg, forward. Something my grandma/grandpa would've enjoyed with their morning coffee...okay sister liked it too! Sadly, wasn't for me. Great price at $10! :: Raisin-cinnamon scone - buttery, melt-in-your-mouth after a 10 sec heat up in the microwave - would get this again :: Maple-glazed old fashioned donut - I prefer the raised donuts (sister got the wrong one *shaking fist*) but it was good. The flavor was actually distinct with crisp edges and soft interior. Their popular items: Derby cake: white cake with strawberries and a chocolate bottom layer with bananas. Unfortunately, they don't sell by the slice so will have to buy a whole cake and share for next time. Focaccia and cannolis seem to be the draw as well. I saw many people grabbing focaccia from the 3 options: cheese, pizza and a pepperoni and buying cannolis by the box: 8 for $36. Overall, great spot for REASONABLY priced cakes, pies, donuts, cupcakes, various cake slices (sans Derby cake), scones, cannolis, focaccia and old-school danishes. Coffee and indoor seating available to enjoy your sweets. Place gets busy in waves...went on a weekend around 215pm and wasn't busy...then a rush of people arrived after. Staff friendly and get the lines moving. Would return to try the Derby Cake, grab some focaccia, and get a cinnamon-raisin scone or donut with some coffee. Street parking only

Yelp
It is summer solstice Day 2025 and I'm back at mazzetti's for some more early morning start-my-day stuff! Mazzetti's Bakery continues to be an excellent local bakery. No need to visit the big name grocery store across the highway, because mazzetti's creations will always be of higher quality, and a better value too! If like me, you are here for a morning start up, you will find tasty donuts and coffee With the quality, and at a price no other chain can match. Easy to find, sometimes hard to park because of the limited parking spaces. Service always be quick as possible with good attitudes. If you're one of those people that love loyalty programs, mazzetti's Bakery partners with Clover to offer a points program that will enable you to get a Mazzetti's Derby cake for free. I've already gathered enough points over time to have redeemed enough points over time for four derby cakes. So that tells you how much I appreciate their products, and their loyalty program too.. As before, regular coffee and donut was delicious. The atmosphere was lively this morning. With two sets of tables filled with people chatting and solving world problems. Hopefully everybody remembered to post their solutions in social media, or use them out in the real world. I recommend Mazzetti's Bakery to anyone near enough to enjoy their products.

Yelp
My mom got me a birthday cake from here this year, and I really enjoyed it. It had this really charming homemade look and taste to it, very old school and cute. The cake was chocolate, very moist and soft, layered with fresh fruits of your choice - she chose banana for one, and strawberry for another! The frosting was great too, not too sweet. This was a delicious cake, hit the spot. There was something just so satisfying about it! If in the area, would definitely check out this place again for another cake for a celebration!

Yelp
I stopped by to try the cannolis because I saw some people recommend this shop. The shop looks quaint and old school, which I found charming. The service was prompt and friendly. It was ~$41 for my box of 9 cannolis. I'm not typically fond of maraschino cherries, but I didn't hate them in the cannolis since they added a nice fruitiness and slight almond flavor when eaten together. The cannoli shells were crisp and flaky. I was pleasantly surprised by the not too sweet filling which was also dotted with mini chocolate chips and lemon zest. I don't think the zest imparted a lot of citrusy flavor but I didn't mind. The amount of filling in each cannoli was inconsistent though, we had some that were underfilled in the middle. Overall, I think any cannoli lover would be pleased with Mazzetti's! It's definitely a solid cannoli. They also have cake, donuts, pies and other baked goods but I only tried the cannolis this time.

Yelp
My family has been raving about this place since we stopped in during our vacation to San Francisco. They loved the donut variety and believe me they ordered just about every single one. I thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry muffin with a cup of tea. We sat inside and ate while the morning rush passed through. This bakery has so much to offer and staff are overjoyed to help you. They have several large tables and a coffee/tea station if you'd like to purchase a cup of coffee.

Yelp
This has almost a daily visit for me since we are here for a few weeks visiting thr west coast. With so many great places we kno2 back home, we were excited to find a local, family owned bakery. And this place is busy! Expect a line bit never a long wait. From fresh breads, croissants and muffins, to Danish ( and a pie that look like a combo of many Danish options donuts and apple pie (where the apples were actually cooked) and so much more..we tried something new and went back for a favorites, FRESH! A fave was the tray of buns we could put in the freezer and grab as needed for sandwiches or with a meal. Loved the blueberry muffins!! Worth the few minutes drive! I see that have a prepaid process and they do a lot of custom cakes. When we are home I may have to order and deliver a cake to family here!!

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Mazzetti's Bakery is a Pacifica staple that serves a variety of delicious desserts and pastries. My favorite is their Derby Cake, which is a chocolate and vanilla cake with whipped cream frosting, bananas, and strawberries. I also love their focaccia bread. This time, we went with an assortment of donuts, with my favorites being the maple and chocolate raised donuts. Experience (5/5 stars): * Price: very reasonable * Wait Time: minimal on an early Saturday morning, but the line can get long * Service: good * Parking: street parking can be tricky. They don't have a parking lot * Ambiance: it's a classic family-owned bakery

Yelp
We took a chance and custom ordered a banana cream pie. It did not disappoint! Crisp, flaky crust. Lots of bananas in good custard. Paid online, and just walked in to pick it up. It's a pain to confirm orders by phone, but it's worth it. Next up, chocolate cream pie! See ya soon, Mazzetti's!

Yelp
I love mazzetti's but this is just beyond unjustified ,I personally when to the store to order this and even confirm 8/1 before picking up the cake was made as order and a employee confirmed and to our surprise when the bride cut the cake it was not what was order. second order in less than a month that we get Wrong I sent a email back 7/19 regarding the 1st order and as of now haven't heard anything .I called this morning to inform about the wrong order from 8/1/25 and I was told the only thing they can recommend me to do is to keep emailing until somebody from the bakery answers which I found that extremely unprofessional, and I can't believe that there's nobody on site to be able to take complaints

Yelp
I was skeptical to order a cake over phone. Castor was reassuring, helpful and knowledgeable. She gives great suggestion on the cake detail. I order a derby cake 1/4 sheet for party of 25. Cake was moist with banana & strawberries fillings. Icing was not too sweet. My first derby cake and definitely not my last one. Reasonable prices. I also pick up some honey bran muffins and cannolis. Credit or cash payment. Street parking.

Yelp
My husband and I got married in December and ordered several cakes from Mazzetti's - we had a 2-tier round cake that we cut for our photos along with two half-sheets that we served. During the cake selection process, we communicated with Angela from the bakery and ordered several sample boxes. She responded to our questions promptly and provided clear guidance as to what to expect during the process. Our cakes were banana nut with white buttercream, chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and a white cake with raspberry filling. We ultimately went with four flavors because they were all delicious and we couldn't decide - we also wanted options for our guests. Our guests loved them! We had 120 guests and leftover cake (which we loved eating in the days that followed our event). Delivery was seamless the day-off the event. Mazzetti's also had a more competitive price than other bakeries we visited along the peninsula.

Yelp
loooong overdue review! Mazzetti is my happy place. everything they have is really good. from the derby cake, cupcakes, bran muffin- it's all soo good. there are times when the line is out the door but that should tell you something. and the staff- all very nice folks! and the fact that they make donations to local schools is an added bonus in my book!

Yelp
A million thank yous to Adriana for decorating this kick butt casino theme cake for Melvin's birthday party. Best cake decorator ever! Adriana, you rock!!!

Yelp
I have been coming here for baked goods for so many years. I can't believe that I have not yet written a review for this fantastic bakery! My favorite is the original Derby cake. The cheese cake is excellent too. You may have a wait a little for your turn but the staff here are super efficient, friendly , and helpful to take your order. The ambiance is always pleasant, happy, and awesome. Highly recommend it.

Yelp
3.5*** My favorite here is their popular derby cake. It is pretty much vanilla or chocolate cake (or both if you pre-order ahead) with fresh strawberries and bananas inside. I used to love Mazzetti's Bakery but over the years, it has gone down in service and in quality. Last year, I pre-ordered and paid for my son's birthday cupcakes, a Derby cake, and the small personal size cake for his 1st birthday. I picked out specific colors to match his animal theme party. When my siblings went to pick up my order, the workers could not find it. I texted my siblings the receipt. Then the workers realized they messed up because they missed it, so they had to rush the order and gave me whatever was available. I still ended up getting the cupcakes, derby cake, and personal size cake, but it delayed the start of our party because those were part of our dessert table and decorations. As soon as the desserts arrived, I added the animal decors. This year, for my son's second birthday, I ordered a dozen cupcakes from Mazzetti's Bakery again! It was because it was close to home and still affordable (unlike some places that charges $5-7 per cupcake) with parking. If it was not due to convenience for parking, I would order from Noe Valley Bakery because their cupcakes tasted much better. This time, I got to try Mazzetti's Bakery cupcakes. I tried the red velvet and chocolate. WOW, they were so sweet! I threw half the red velvet one away because it tasted just like sugar. The chocolate one was not too strong in flavor so it was kind of disappointing. Next time, I would have to pre-order cupcakes from Noe Valley or even get it at Luckys since they actually tasted better than here and not overly sweet. The only thing I would get here from now on would be the derby cake. Note: Get the derby cake! I tried their focaccia bread in the past and it was quite plain in taste.

Yelp
My go to place to grab cakes and overall pastries so good especially the cream puffs and cup cakes
google avatar

Connie C.

Yelp
Line out the door on Saturday, but it moved relatively quickly. We got a slice of raspberry cake, small blueberry muffin, blueberry cheesecake, and a maple old-fashioned donut. Everything came out to about $13 after tax, which I thought was reasonable. Cheesecake was the highlight! Muffin was soft, tender, and tasted homemade. Maple donut was good but tasted a bit of old oil. I would skip the cake slice. Service was friendly. I will come back to get a derby cake sometime!

Yelp
I had their delicious Derby Cake at a birthday party that I knew I was going to order this cake for a family function of 100 people. Even in though it was out of my way, I went to Mazzetti's to place my sheet cake order and explain design specifications. I was in Sweet Tooth heaven to see all the offerings Mazzetti's had from cookies, to donuts, cakes, cannolis, coffee... I was like a kid in a candy store wanted to try everything. This is the kind of bakery you would want to make sure you don't miss anything displayed in their cabinets. There are tables to dine in and hangout. Conveniently located at the corner of Oceana Blvd and Manor Drive, it's a local favorite. The few times I have been there, I have seen lines out the door, yet they provide fast service with several staff waiting on customers one after the other. If only Mazzetti's was near me, I would frequent this place often, but probably a good thing or my sugar intake would be to the roof! LOL Highly recommend to stop by Mazzetti's if ever in Pacifica to satisfy that sugar craving. It's family owned too. To try their famous Derby Cake, you'll have to order a 8 inch round cake as they do not sell it by the slice.

Yelp
Got a derby cake to celebrate a birthday. I ordered online and it was a simple process. In my special requests, I've asked for pumpkins instead of balloons. After I paid online, the bakery called to inform me that it's an extra $5 charge that's due when picking up the cake. The cake is one of the lighter American cakes I've eaten. Reminds me Asian fruit cake which is nice! It's layered with generous amounts of strawberry and banana. The cake doesn't last that long and should be eaten within 2-3 days.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
I saw all the derby cakes and knew for next celebration had to pick one up. Ordering was easy in person. Choose the size, flavor and writing if needed. The 8" was more than enough for a birthday celebration for 6. The cake is massive and heavy. I liked that it was not overly sweet and the fruit inside was a great touch. Not a whole lot of seating but a lot of different goodies to try. The service is nice and prices are very reasonable. Street parking Cash/card

Yelp
We love this bakery for one main reason: the derby cake. It's absolutely delicious and a huge hit at every party--we keep coming back for it. That said, the experience with preordering has been frustrating and inconsistent. Out of three times we've preordered, two had major issues: * Once, the toy topper we paid for was missing, and we only found out when we picked up the cake. If someone had told us ahead of time, it would've been disappointing but manageable. Instead, we were left scrambling just hours before a child's birthday party. I ended up driving to almost every Safeway on the Peninsula trying to find a similar toy to replace it--definitely not how you want to spend the day of a celebration. * Another time, we ordered a half-sheet cake and received a quarter-sheet instead. Not sure how that mistake happened, but again, no real explanation or apology was offered, and we were left to just deal with it. Customer service during these situations has felt pretty indifferent--no offer of real reimbursement or even much acknowledgment that something went wrong. Would I still order the derby cake again? 100% yes. It's that good. But if you're planning for a special event, give yourself a buffer, and maybe even consider a backup plan--just in case.

Yelp
Best bakery in the bay area. We've had Mazettis catered for both our baby showers and they were a hit every time. One was a strawberry cake and one was a guava/mango. I love the family style feel of this bakery. Their small baked goods in the case are also so delicious, from cupcakes to cookies to slices. If you're ever passing through town, pull over and grab a few!
google avatar

Amia G.

Yelp
Our go to place for the derby cake!!! Service is always efficient given how busy it gets. I've placed multiple orders online for family gatherings and never had an issue picking up. The vibe is definitely home style feel mom & pop shop. Love going here for baked goods and cakes!

Yelp
I remember as a kid back in the 80s, we would stop to grab donuts and other baked goodies as a treat at Mazzetti's Feels like eons ago, but the same long-established practices of friendly customer service and excellent product still continue at this 50yr old bakery. Even back then the donut holes would be warm and fresh, before we went crabbing at the pier. The focaccia is divine here...forgot to take a picture so we will definitely come back for more delicious pastries! The young lady who helped us was very sweet and even offered to add the birthday greeting on our Derby Cake! Vibes will always be homey and comfortable, w/ some sweet smells from the oven. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Hearing how good this place is from others sounds very promising but after today's experience will make me warn others please do not come here. I was in line and a blonde girl looked at me and I had thought she took my order but she didn't even write it down. I was in line right behind my partner while she was waiting for her cake when my spot was getting ignored. After waiting like 20 minutes and seeing people walking in and getting their orders completed and paid for I thought something was wrong. She even had said it out loud to help him (me). Finally when we said it out loud the third time. They told us "oh come back later" after that response I gave up on waiting and just flat out walked out! Note to manager: HIRE PROFESSIONAL SERVERS! THESE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS ARE GOING TO RUIN YOUR BUSINESS!! I will not return to this place as I am disgusted on how I was treated. I felt like I was racially profiled, felt we were fat shamed and all of the customers were there way after me got their orders completed except for one person who ordered a cake two days ago. I really hope this review goes out and gets heard by other future customers. We weren't even offered a bag for the cake my partner had pre ordered. Good thing she brought one but that was from word of mouth from other customers. In closing, save yourself a trip and get a cheaper cake from Safeway and be treated better. Brief edit: someone by the name of Michael responds to me after my review like who are you even to respond to my post

Yelp
Visiting SF and my sister surprised us with a box of magic from this little spot. Hands down the best bite of pastry I've had in years!! From the crisp-edged bran muffins to the delicious cinnamon roll to the perfected old fashioned donut, every morsel out of this red and white-striped box was SENSATIONAL!! Not overly sweet or oily, just perfect! Far better than some of the "usual" spots for donuts in the area, and a wayyyyy better price too! I can't speak to the service, as I was surprised with this box of magic. Try this place out, YOLO!

Yelp
I stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for a slice of carrot cake and a coffee. The cake itself was good -- the frosting is sweeter than I'd usually prefer, but the black coffee balanced it out. When I paid, I believed the friendly young man at the counter gave me a senior discount. I almost corrected him, since I'm not a senior and hopefully don't look it, yet. But then I figured he was just being nice. It was about a 70-cent discount. So of course, I tipped extra, gotta pay it forward. As I sat there with my carrot cake, I couldn't help but wonder if he actually thought I was a senior or if it was simply a kind gesture. Maybe ordering a cake filled with raisins and carrots had something to do with it? No, it couldn't be. So I took my phone out and snapped a picture of myself - I couldn't decide how to feel about it - but then realized I'm spending way too much time overthinking this discount, so much so that I'm telling this story to you. Haha. Overall, friendly service, great desserts, and the Derby cakes are totally worth the hype.

Yelp
I Love this bakery so much! They have so many delicious desserts. But I cannot live without my ultimate favorite, the Raisin Bran muffin!! Omg! You guys must give it a try. 5 stars! I always recommend this place even if I live 30min away! Their service is great! The staff are always nice and welcoming!

Yelp
The good: We absolutely love Mazzetti's. We've ordered cakes from them for many years, and have never been disappointed. The bad (this particular time): we ordered 6 dozen cupcakes and 2 smash cakes for pickup. When we arrived we were told there were only 3 dozen and the two cakes. The person helping quickly showed a receipt - never handed to me EVEN AFTER I ASKED FOR A COPY, and proceeded to read and "verify" on a pink slip that was all I ordered. I panicked and rather than pushing or asking to speak to someone else, I agreed to their suggestion of buying 3 more dozen from the display case. I was disappointed because the missing cupcakes were a "special" order of funfetti - and unfortunately the replacements would be plain vanilla. Luckily , I managed to pull up my credit card charge and was able to compare the pricing, confirming that my order was for 6 dozen. When I presented this to the employee they responded with "yea, I guess we can just give these to you". I didn't have it in me to fight or argue, but they weren't "giving" me anything - I PAID FOR 6 dozen! Later on that evening, I received a phone call from the bakery asking if I was planning to pick up my cupcakes. WHAT?!? I explained the situation to the person on the phone and they told me the cupcakes were "in the back of the fridge" and likely "an honest mistake". I get it, and I would say I was more than understanding - and was even ready to pay for what I thought was my mistake. I wish I had pushed further or asked to speak with someone else, which might have encouraged a more detailed search and me receiving my actual order. The person on the phone was nice and even offered to send communication to get me a "possible compensation" - which I declined. I didn't want compensation, after all I paid for 6 dozen and that's what I left with. I was just super disappointed that it wasn't what I actually ordered and expected. Flavor was there as always, guests liked them. Only thing was the two smash cakes were visibly different, size and decorations - when the only difference should have been the flavor, leading me to believe that one was made to order while the other one wasn't.

Yelp
Never Again!! Called to order a Baby shark 1/4 sheet cake for a two yr. olds birthday. I made it a simple order, asked for a late morning pick up and was offered 9:30 a.m. However when I arrived to pick up they were still getting my cake ready. After approx 10 minutes I was given a cake in a box, and handed a bag with the baby shark toppers, told to place them on the cake when I am ready to present the cake. Because they did not fit in the box with the lid on, so I needed to place them on the cake. After getting in my car I noticed the bag with the toppers was oozing blue frosting, I looked in the bag and the toppers were soiled with frosting which lead me to question whether they had been used. Which should never happen where food is concerned!! Also, had I not noticed the oozing bag I would have learned they were soiled and messy when I was ready to place them on the cake at a park with no running water to clean them!!!!! In my opinion, and as a customer, It was simple laziness, and a lack of pride in their work! I called, spoke with someone representing themselves as a manager, explained the situation to be told " I m sorry, yes someone should have cleaned them before giving them to you, " but they're new "and not used! Was the excuse, which I find to be a pathetic excuse! Also, If I was expected to put things on the cake I would expect to be told prior to purchasing the cake. Another customer ahead of me had the lid to her cake elevated to accommodate the decoration on her cake, so I do not understand why a SIMPLE BUTTERCREAM CAKE was so difficult to decorate!! I paid $73.00 and change for a basic cake which I guess was not expensive enough for the bakery to complete decorating the cake. I find it insulting, and do not see myself ever doing business with this bakery in the future, and I will most certainly never refer anyone to their bakery!! I looked at Safeways simple baby shark cakes. Made me regret purchasing from Mazzeti's, and the cost would have been $40.00 for the same size cake!! Never Again!! Hopefully, others have a better experience!!

Yelp
Such welcoming, inviting service - when we had questions we were encouraged to try new things through the lenses of expertise of Mazzetti's Bakery staff. This place is living coastal magic. Adriana, the cup cake lady, is gonna turn us into regulars!!!!!!!!!!!! She is sweet and above and beyond, I feel like a valued customer of my hometown bakery.

Yelp
This derby cake was such a hit! It's so good and fresh, and just look at the decorations! It was a simple online ordering process, but you'll still need to stand in line and wait your turn for pick up! This place is always packed!

Yelp
This place is a staple within my life. I've been enjoying their pastries for years and get them for everything - from treating myself to something small or getting a lot for a party.

Yelp
Looking for a cake to order? Mazzetti's got you covered! I highly recommend ordering their black and white derby cake. You can do this online through their order form which was very straight forward. Why should you order this cake? It's so tasty! What I personally love about it is it's not too sweet. The frosting itself isn't too sweet either and the fruit makes the cake pretty refreshing. I also like their focaccia that you can order online as well (but only available on the weekends). It's a competitive price with a wonderful portion size. There are a lot of baked goods at their bakery (donuts, cupcakes, cannolis, pies, breads and much more!)

Yelp
Cannoli ($4), Eclair ($4), Cream Puff ($4), and Cinnamon Roll ($1.95) I came here for the first time with my boyfriend! Super cute & small shop on the corner. They have lots of different flavors of cookie, cakes, and other yummy desserts. Service is great and the person working at the cashier was nice & helpful. Everything except for the cinnamon roll all tasted the same to be honest, it is probably the whip cream filing making it feel that way. It is like different versions of a similar taste in our opinion. Nonetheless, I definitely recommend this place for a yummy sweet!

Yelp
We usually order a Derby Cake for our special occasions. We are located in the South Bay, so I place the order on the phone and my brother who lives up there picks it up. Ordering over the phone is super easy. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The Derby Cake is always delicious. Cake is fresh as well as the bananas and strawberries. The cake is expertly made and the sweetness is just the right amount for my likings. This is a cake that is enjoyed by kids and adults.

Yelp
It's a bakery, what more can I say? OKAY it's a d@mn fine bakery their honey bran muffins are out of this world and they run out so go earlier in the day or you'll be disappointed. People rave about some of the cakes they make but I'm not a cake person, sorry. Their other donuts, pastries and cookies are very good too, I can't say as to which are better, it those muffins... Service is pleasant and will be effected by how many are waiting in line which at time goes out the door and around the side of the building. Inside is cosey, there are tables and chairs and you can grab a cup of Joe and enjoy your purchases

Yelp
What a great find! The prices are reasonable and the selection is vast! There isn't a lot of space inside, so be prepared to take your goodies away. The cinnamon roll was sooo fresh and soft! The blueberry scone was a bit dry, and unfortunately I didn't get a coffee. The cranberry pumpkin muffin was delicious! We will definitely be back when we're in the area to try more items! Delicious!

Yelp
Got a slice of carrot cake care because they did not have a slice of their special strawberry chocolate vanilla cake. The carrot cake was made. It had good amount of sweetness, not too sweet. I just don't like raisins in my carrot cake and also the carrot pieces in there where on the long and bigger side that I prefer. Come back to try the other slice of cake if they have it.

Yelp
The cake was amazing !!! I ordered the derby cake for my boyfriend's birthday. We tried it at another birthday party and just fell in love with it. The quality and taste is simply incredible. I had special ordered it and they had a hard time for some reason finding it and the worker came out 3 different times to ask more questions even though I had the receipt and had shown it repeatedly, but all is well that ends yumminess! I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! We got married just last Friday, and Mazzetti's was included in our package. At first, I was nervous because I had never tried their baked goods or seen their cake designs. However, I trusted our venue that they would produce a quality product, and they did not disappoint. We asked for a Lambeth-style cake, and the cake they gave us looked so much like the inspiration photo that it could be someone's future inspiration photo. Not only did it look like everything we ever dreamed of, but it tasted AMAZING. As I write this now, I am eating leftover cake, and it is so moist. It is not too sweet, and the chocolate ganache filling is out of this world. They delivered on time and were so easy to work with. If I could give them a 10-star rating, I would. Thank you Mazzetti's!!!!

Yelp
This review is solely for the derby cake here. It is one of my favorites. It's worth the drive to try! I ordered ahead for a whole sheet cake for my Chinese wedding banquet and it was such a hit. Everyone wanted to bring some home and asked where it was from. It has such a great balance of strawberry and banana with chocolate/vanilla cake. It's moist and not too sweet. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!
