We absolutely loved our visit! The food was delicious, and the service was nothing short of exceptional. However, the real highlight was our incredibly knowledgeable server. He provided expert recommendations on pairing dishes with our wine, and every suggestion was spot on. The way the spice complemented their Riesling was an unforgettable experience. Seriously, magic! It was an explosion of flavor that knocked our socks off! It was a perfect balance that elevated the entire meal and experience. I can't wait to go back!

Amazing! The food was excellent, they also had a wide variety of food, ranging from Caesar Salad to steak and short ribs. We had pizza, ravioli, lasagna, and short ribs. Our server was very nice, giving us attention unlike other restaurants. Our server also helped us with choosing a dish. I loved the atmosphere of the whole place too. The wait time was around an hour, pretty average for Italian restaurants. This is overall a really good restaurant to choose.

Google
We had a small wait to get seated but it was Friday. After she did we enjoyed the rolls and the atmosphere and each other's company. It was bustling and loud in a good way everybody seemed happy with their food around us. The food was excellent everybody had something different and we all tasted each other's

The food was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Now I know why it's been nearly 30 years since I've been. Had the calzone and the crust was soggy, liquid from the mushrooms and sauce pouring out. Made for the crust to be gooey and non-edible. My friend had the seafood fettuccine and it was bland and barely any seafood. Very disappointing. The Atmosphere was great the service could have been better, not once did they ask how the food was. Had they have asked I would have pointed out my dissatisfaction. If the food was better I would have no issues supporting a local business. Get it right Mazzi's and do a little spice change up.

Google
Liam, our server was good. Calamari was the of one of the best that I have ever eaten. It really melts in your mouth. It's usually rubbery or chewy in many places that I have visited. Parmesson Eggplant and Chicken Pesto, both pasta was overcooked, but guess that is how some establishment does to suit local taste buds. Tiramisu was the best among the 3.

Google
Food was super good, 10/10. Left a small tip cause it looked to me, like homie serving my family was making fun of me with his coworkers or something. Kept looking at me, then laughing. Food was very, very good though, I’d recommend dining here.

Google
Unimpressed. Dined here 7/3 with family. Service was slow and not very attentive. Music was loud and annoying, we asked them to turn it down and they (maybe?) did, but only temporarily. Food was tasteless. I had eggplant Parmesan and it tasted like it had tempura breading, not Italian bread crumbs as is traditional. Sauce had no flavor either. Tiny blob of spaghetti marinara on the side, blah. Caesar salad, ditto. Croutons were like little square rocks. Even the rolls had no flavor, perhaps they forgot the salt in the dough? Anyway, we tried it b/c town was busy and B & G doesn’t take reservations. Won’t make that mistake again!

Google
Pretty yum---I went here with a few friends and the food was great. I do recommend making a reservation if you can, it seemed pretty packed when we arrived later in the day and I'm glad we had one. My rigatoni with beef and pork sauce was tasty---maybe not the best I've ever had, but pretty good. The standout of my meal was the green salad with pesto sauce... specifically, the pesto sauce was quite delicious. Service was prompt and friendly; will likely end up coming back here sometime.

Yelp
We decided to give Mazzi's a chance after reading some mediocre reviews perhaps this is why people have not been showing up, but the food was great. The service was great. We did not have reservations and were able to sit outside in a beautiful patio and just enjoy the evening. The Caprese salad with heirloom tomatoes from their garden is not to be missed. Rolls and bakery products are from Hideaway, bakery an excellent bakery.

Yelp
Have gone to Mazzi's forever. Bar area was a bit messy and we waited quite a while for our food, however the food was worth the wait! The wine was so good and learned a lot about the vineyard from the bartender. Keep in mind that you can bring your bar drink in the lobby while you wait. They have a great outdoor area but is closed (for winter?) they should open and heat it, would have been nice. We will go again. A Eugene tradition.

Yelp
We had a reservation at 7:00pm and arrive on time, but we did not get seated until 7:25. We then waited for our food for an hour and a half after ordering. We got the drinks we ordered while waiting comped for the trouble but it was still very disappointing. After about an hour our server came to say "5 more minutes" for your food, which then was 25 minutes until we saw him or any food. Mind you at this point most of the restaurant is empty since it was almost 9:00pm. We came for a graduation dinner based off of reviews and safe to say that was not a good decision since the food wasn't even worth it. Basic pasta and the calzone was horrible. Cute place but will not be returning.

Yelp
Had not been to Mazzi's for about 2-3 years as it has slipped. Well, Mazzi's is definitely back and as good as it used to be! Hostess greeted us and was friendly and got us right to our table. Our server, Brett, was first class and knew his job and showed. All the food was beyond amazing and the rolls.....WOW! Prices were fair for the quality of food, service and ambience. Establishment was spotless as was the restroom. Will I be back and recommending? You better believe it!

Yelp
As always this place delivers good food, drinks and service. We enjoyed a beet salad each then split a calzone and had more than enough to satisfy our appatites. We had desert and coffee to finish it all and left w

Yelp
One of the grossest places l've ever been to and I feel horrible for saying that And the service was absolutely slow, extremellyyyyyyy slow. I usually take pictures when I go to restaurants but I had no inclination to here. For the prices I was expecting more than what seemed to be reheated food and 99 cent overcooked noodles. They would be a good candidate for Gordon Ramsay's show kitchen nightmares, though!!

Yelp
On Friday night, I went to Mazzi's with my granddaughter to have a meal before the show at the Hult Center. We both ordered the fettuccine Alfredo and it was very good. We also ordered the garlic bread and that, too, was excellent. At the end, we ordered the chocolate mousse custard and it was amazing. The service was great and I got a chance to relive Mazzi's a little bit. I used to go to Mazzi's in Corvallis when they had a store there and I wish they would come back.

Yelp
MMMMM yum asf. everything was great, especially the caesar salad which i feel i am a hard critic on. The ambience was great, very dark and deep feeling with nice mood lighting and some eclectic decor. our waiter was super super sweet and provided great services every pasta dish was great. the stuffed mushrooms were also so rich and delish! all in all a great experience and i would love to come back!

Yelp
I got the Caesar salad and the chicken Alfredo or I think it was called fettuccine, it was delicious! The staff are very nice and the service in total was amazing and friendly. Food was great, and to end the night we got a root beer float

Yelp

Yelp
My husband got a reservation for a date night on a Friday at six. We arrived on time and we were seated promptly. The server was very nice and knowledgeable about things on the menu. I was disappointed tho because the menu says most of the pasta is house made only to find out that it isn't anymore and it's dry pasta. I went with the lasagna because of this so that I could at least have fresh pasta. It was good and a very decent sized portion. My husbands seafood fettuccine was amazing definitely worth the price tag! The rolls were served warm but with cold butter so it wasn't super spreadable, they also weren't like the most amazing rolls ever but worked well to mop up the extra sauce from our pastas. This restaurant would be considered more on the fancy side here but of course we live in Eugene so guests were dressed in everything from business attire to pajama pants but the thing that surprised me was actually some of the kitchen staff (maybe dishwashers?) who were dressed in like basketball shorts and sport t shirts and they were coming into the dining room to put things away and stuff. I'm pretty casual but it was surprising that the owner or manager is ok with a dress code like that when guests are in view. One other thing that was a little off-putting was the server poured across us to fill our water multiple times. Small quirks aside we were very pleased with our meal and would definitely return for another date night.

Yelp
I have eaten at Mazzi's hundreds if not thousands of times. It's one of our favorite restaurants! The salad mixed with half house dressing/half pesto dressing is delicious, as is their homemade spaghetti meat sauce with a large meatball. And their homemade sourdough dinner rolls are spectacular! I only wish they were open for lunch like they used to be!

Chris ..

Yelp
Mazzi's is an italian restaurant that I've been enjoying since I was a child, and now I bring my own kids here! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a safe, clean, and relaxing environment that sets the perfect tone for a semi-casual dining experience. One of the highlights of my meals here is the fresh warm bread rolls, paired with a dinner salad (be sure to ask for their creamy pesto dressing) or fresh minestrone soup. The portions are generous, so be prepared to take home plenty of leftovers. The atmosphere is charming, with patrons dressing up semi-casually, soft lighting and candles, contributing to the inviting vibe of the place. My only complaint? It's a shame there isn't a Mazzi's in Portland anymore--I still miss the convenience of that location (Beaverton please!) Even if you're up in Portland, the drive down to Mazzi's is worth it!

Yelp
I was visiting Eugene from LA and stopped by Mazzi's after getting into town later in the day on a week night. I was delightfully surprised at how tasty the food was, cozy the atmosphere was and how nicely my wine choice tasted. The first night I went with Aunt Rosies Pasta, the second night I went with the Chicken Piccata, at Franks recommendation. Both were really delicious and hearty. The second night I had a slice of the cheesecake that is topped with a nice brulee finish and a dappling of berries. The wine was the red blend, hearty with a bit of spice. Great people, friendly and prompt staff. I'll definitely send people there and also revisit when I am in town again!

Yelp
We had the good fortune to have a couple we know invite us to join them for dinner last night at Mazzi's. There wasn't an open space in their parking lot so we were happy we had reservations (last minute). Started off with a nice bottle of Soter Pinot Noir wine which is a very delicious Oregon wine. Our waiter, Liam, was very professional, checking on us every so often as to ensure we didn't feel neglected. Complimentary fresh in-house dinner rolls w/ butter (nice crunchy outside and lovely soft flavorful inside) were brought to us to enjoy with the wine. The small side Caesar salad was really delicious! Nice crispy fresh Romaine lettuce and perfect amount of creamy dressing w/ a few in-house herb croutons. Our friend enjoyed a cup of Minestrone. The only challenge was waiting for our meals, but with the amount of business and every table in sight filled, we were patient. Our patience was rewarded by a nice (free) glass of more Soter wine by another employee, Brett, who was checking on the tables and engaging w/ the patrons. Our meals were spectacular! The plates were plentiful and truly lovely (large piece of salmon with local fingerling potatoes, roasted whole carrots, chicken Marsala w/ pasta and roasted carrots and my dish was Ravioli w/ scallops). I was happy to have half of my dish to carry home. So delicious! I was tipped off that the owner, Frank Ernandes, was standing behind us talking w/ some patrons who were getting ready to leave. It is a great sign to see the owner on-site and engaged with their own business. We are grateful to have truly independently owned restaurants that take pride in their food and community. We're looking forward to returning again and again.

Yelp
Amazing flavorful food, great space with real warm fires, and extremely friendly servers, will definitely come back!

Yelp
We made a reservation for my dad's birthday. We got seated promptly by the front staff, our orders were taken and we got our appetizers, but after that we went an hour and a half without our food. We saw the tables around us get checked on, while we weren't asked if we needed more water, bread, or even communicated that there was a delay. I understand when you get busy, but the bare minimum you can do is let us know what's going on. The only time we got attended to was when we flagged someone down. My wife ended up taking our baby home before our food got there. I would not recommend booking a special occasionh

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at Mazzi's after not eating here for years. The service was excellent and the food was on point which softened the blow for our seating. Unfortunately, several tables of four or less were seated in the same room with what looked like the cast from legally blonde. The table was twenty plus of sorority moms and their daughters that all seemed to want to talk at the same time with their phone in hand. Nobody could hear one another and talking seemed pointless. We all sat in silence and enjoyed our $150 dollar meal.

Yelp
Not sure why so many bad reviews but tonight is was fantastic. I went way off the reservation with my keto diet tonight. I had Chicken Piccata with a side of Fettuccine Alfredo and veggies, which were cooked perfectly - the chicken was a little chewy but good. Hubby had a huge calzone, we ate homemade bread and desserts too. I had chocolate hazelnut panna cotta and he had strawberry shortcake. All was delish.

Yelp
Mazzi's has been operating since the early 1970's when founded by Frank Hernandez. As a kid it was my families Sunday night dinner and celebration favorite. The family recipes, fresh ingredients and Italian passion for experiencing vs just consuming food was the standard. The core menu were artisan pizza and red sauce based pasta dishes. ( any dish could be made with clam or alfredo)Ordering dinner started with salad or minestrone, fresh bread rolls and was capped off with spumoni ice cream. In the late 1980's unique specials allowed the more adventurous to expand their palettes. Eugene can thank Frank for having a hand in bringing the Eugene community Ambrosia and Excelsior. Mazzi's remains in name only. The multitude of management and ownership changes has taken its toll. A skeleton of core menu remains but the preparation, presentation and flavors can be found at any Italian chain for a better price point. Our party of ten was seated promptly by friendly staff. We started with Calamari and a persimmon based version of a Caprese with Prosciutto which were paired with several craft cocktails. Unfortunately we also selected the Deconstructed Bruschetta. This dish is a major failure as the amount of raw garlic was so over powering it can still be tasted the next morning. The caesar salads were well portioned but the watered down dressing had minimal flavor profile. The main dishes covered the spectrum. All were delivered as ordered. I had the Bolognese which as a disappointment. My table mates had the Lasagne which had a cold core, the crispy eggplant was tasty but the red sauce had too much tomato paste and the entree caesars with chicken were topped with cubes of bland chicken/croutons that could not be eaten without cutting. Highlight was the Spaghetti in meat sauce. Dessert offerings were traditional. Please tell me how you think that a pane-cotta and a tiramisu can be prepared and presented like a pudding cup. Cheese cake was the star. If this experience happened anywhere else would have been a two star rating. The extra star was for the nostalgia effect created by sharing yet another family meal. Lots of other Italian options in Eugene in the same price range.

Yelp
Large Caesar salad and an original calzone. We had this same meal at Mazzi's on our first date almost 44 years ago. Still just as good as always. Only difference is now we split. Otherwise it's way too much food. Still left stuffed!

Dennis G.

Yelp
Sometimes it's gratifying to go back to the basics. Calif. Cousins in town and we headed to Mazzis for dinner with reservations. Seated promptly, pleasantly. They have a great menu which makes choosing difficult, in a good way. Went with a Caesars salad and the Marcos Calzone. Perfect croutons and dressing on the Caesars but , oh my golly!! The calzone was a delicious , tasteful surprise! Cheesy, meaty, tasty..it has it all! Oh and filling!! Needed that to go box! When you top that with pleasant, professional service, it makes for a great dinner evening! Enjoy!!

Yelp
Overcooked pasta! Three dishes in total all overcooked. There is better pasta at a school cafeteria.

Yelp
I was in Eugene visiting my stepfather a few weeks ago and we were trying to decide where to go for dinner. We finally decided on Mazzi's, as I had never been there even though I lived in Eugene for many years. It was a Thursday night, and it didn't seem to be very crowded. It was about half an hour from the time we were seated until the waiter took our orders, and then we waited a full hour before we got our meals! I was furious and by that time I wanted to make a complaint to the owner. Fortunately a friend of my stepfather showed up, and he apparently knew the people who worked there. He made a couple of trips into the kitchen to see if he could get them to pick up the pace a little. I was still really irritated and suggested to him that they should comp our desserts, but I didn't actually expect that to happen. Well the mutual friend went into the kitchen and made that suggestion, because the next thing I knew our desserts were going to be comped. They told us we had unfortunately come in at the end of a huge rush. The comping of the desserts made me feel a little better, but I still felt like I had to give them a bad review for this, as I had never before had to wait an hour plus for my food. Normally I would walk out before waiting that long, but I wasn't alone, so I didn't.

Yelp
Even on a Monday night, Mazzi's served a tremendous dinner to our family. Chicken Parmesan was incredible, the salmon cooked perfectly and the Caesar salad was delicious. The server was also wonderful! In fireplace added to the charm of the place. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We went to Mazzi's in Eugene three times recently with friends, a Saturday, a Monday, and a Friday. On all occasions the food was pretty good and not overpriced. On our first visit, the service was excellent. Our server checked on us regularly, and even though somewhat busy there was no rush whatsoever. We even asked if she needed our table at one point, and she told us to stay as long as we liked. She earned and received a very nice tip. The next visit gave us a male server who seemed to have a chip on his shoulder - an air of odd snobbery. We treated him with utmost kindness in spite of the rather cold treatment, along with an average tip. Our last visit delivered the same chap again. Similar attitude. Since there were many empty tables, we did not feel as though we were imposing by staying somewhat longer than normal. Unfortunately, with no apology at all, and with rather unpolished and surprising rudeness, this chap told us that he needed our table and that we had to leave. We are polite, quiet people, so with no fuss, we paid our bill, included a tip, and departed feeling negative about Mazzi's. I'm not sure we will return, as we still carry around unhappiness about the treatment. With so much competition in the area, why would Mazzi's permit an employee to behave so? I can't tell you how many times this treatment has already come up in discussions with our circle of friends, family and co-workers. We are known to dine out often, so we are often asked, "Where did you go? How was it?"

Yelp
Decided to try this local joint for an anniversary dinner after reading so many positive reviews and because of the close proximity to my house. I ordered the seafood fettuccini and my vegetarian partner ordered lasagna for our entrees, both were delicious! But the standout dish was probably the stuffed mushrooms appetizer we ordered - absolutely amazing! Very friendly attentive wait staff, and very clean and charming environment. I can't wait to go again. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Heard lots of things about this place and finally decided to go. I will definitely go back. The food was excellent. Perfect pasta, i got the Cannelloni. The sauces were superb. I got half and half sauces with my Cannellon. They have fairly straight forward authentic Italian menu; appetizers, pastas, entrées, al forno, (baked) and pizza.

Sebastian C.

Yelp
Ragitoni was delicious, I loved the service they gave me water every time my cup was low, Ambiance was good.

Matt T.

Yelp
I can't tell you how much I love being able to recommend a spot that's been consistently amazing for decades. From the wait staff to the food to the ambiance, we really enjoy getting to eat at Mazzi's.

Patricia T.

Yelp
So very impressed with the entire experience. We had calamari and caesar, followed by Seafood Alfredo; perfectly seared scallops, Classic Chicken Marsala perfect sauce and Manicotti with perfect sauce and texture; all uniquely delicious. The desserts were amazing: Tiramisu, affogato ( do not shy on this!) and Marionberry cheesecake with brûlée topping. The server was kind, attentive and not overbearing. The kitchen staff did a great job of maintaining quality. The owner was spent a few minutes adding a warm touch to the evening. Our first time, we are hooked.

Yelp
Very nice and warm atmosphere. Drinks were very good. Sadly, 3 of 4 meals did not meet expectations. Too much pesto...floating in it and far too much spice in the eggplant pasta. The 4th dish was self-created and enjoyable. I took the word of a woman guest in a hotel. Bad decision.

Shirley B.

Yelp
I went to Mazzis in 1973 until now. It use to be even better but stilll beats the rest atmosphere ect

Yelp
Terrible service, poor excuses, cold food, watered-down Caesar dressing. You get the idea. There is no excuse for a meal being served 1.5 hours after ordering. We didn't order anything special and several who arrived after us were served first. We had to continually ask for someone to take our drinks and food orders. No one came back to ask how it was. Excuses that our waiter was helping in the kitchen, then they ran out of pasta???? So sad, It used to be so good... I know where our money will go next time!

Yelp
Let's start from the beginning. Now before i get into the details of our experience at Mazzi's, I'd like to preface that this review is not to bash this restaurant but to give our honest feedback. We chose to sit outside on the patio. Upon arriving at our table, my husband had to clear spider webs off of the table and chairs before we sat. this however was not that much of a bother. Unfortunately what was a bother, was the empty glasses around our table that didn't look to be touched in days. The wait staff including the hostess and server were both very friendly. I ordered a margarita off the cocktail menu and when it arrived, I was surprised at how strong the drink was. I handed it to my husband and he had suggested that it tasted like a class of straight tequila..when we asked the server to add more margarita mix to the drink, she said "we actually don't use margarita mix, its just lime juice and tequila." we asked for another shot of lime juice in the drink and it seemed to have made the drink tolerable. Next is food, my husband ordered the chicken parm. It was about a 30min wait for the food which isn't bad at all. Overall presentation of the dish he rated a 7/10. The steamed vegetables were cooked thoroughly but under seasoned and by that i mean no seasoning at all. The sauce was the star of the dish, as it was very tasty. The chicken was cooked well and seasoned perfectly however it did not taste like fresh chicken and for the price, you think it would be. The pasta was slightly overcooked which didn't seem to bother my husband. overall a good dish but not worth the price. I ordered the farfalle diabola pasta. I ordered this dish with no mushrooms. the waitress comes back 5 min after we placed the order and asked "are you allergic to mushrooms or is it just a preference?" I answered that it was only a preference and then she walked away. When my dish arrived it in fact did have mushrooms..It would have been appreciated if our server let me know that unfortunately the cooks cannot remove these but instead she just had them make it how it comes. Luckily i'm not allergic to them. It left me wondering if i should've said i was allergic, would i then have gotten the dish i ordered? The pasta itself was okay, not awful but didn't blow me away. Our final note about Mazzi's is that it was alright, but we will unfortunately not be back. With just a few small changes and a bit more passion from the ownership, this place has the potential to be an amazing restaurant.

Yelp
The best Italian food around! Love everything here! Definitely recommend the special manicotti! Yum!
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
Very depressing that Mazzi's has turned their made from scratch Italian restaurant into this. What happen?? Anything you use to order would come out quick and hot and so good. I went in with my family (5 top) and after receiving water and bread and ordering waited over an hour for our food. And the fettuccine Alfredo was cold?? Noodles aren't homemade anymore either. Veggie calzone was great and so was the minestrone soup. Other than that food was not good. We decided to order desert and got the supposed last 3 strawberry shortcakes that were made today..... Horrible. And honestly even questioned waiter about freshness because the whip cream on top was separated and almost sour. Oh well another getting ready to bite the dust. Once had numerous locations now only one.
google avatar

Katie D.

Yelp
I'm only reviewing this place because the star amount is way too low. This place is incredible! Every time I come here the service is on point and the food is amazing. Such a cute and cozy place if I could eat here every day I would! The Aunt Rose's special is perfect every time.

Stuart T.

Yelp
Mazzi's has apparently changed hands since our last time there -- about a year or two ago. The food quality has gone way downhill. Where it used to be OK (rating of about 3), we'd now give it a 1 or 2. I had the cannelloni. Ate only 1 of two, took the other home and threw it in the garbage. My wife had callemari. It was greasy and tasteless. I doubt we'll be returning until we see or hear of changes for the better.

Ed A.

Yelp
I love this place. Have been going here since it first opened but haven't been here in years. Seems the same to me. Their salads were good, love their dressing. I got the house Calzone and it was great. I could only eat half of it and had the rest boxed up. I didn't want to smell up my hotel room so I left it in the car overnight- it was cold outside. Got up in the morning and had it for breakfast, it tasted even better. Go Mazzi's

Yelp
Favorite restaurant of all time! I grew up in Eugene and went there as a family many times. Now that I live in California, it is a must stop everytime I visit Oregon. Many memories of this place remain with church pews and stained glass. Super sweet staff, kind and appear to enjoy their jobs. Worth any wait or price!

Toga H.

Yelp
Reservation for a poor dining experience. The place is dirty and outdated. I was hoping the food could make up for it, but it's awful. Cold salty bland basic suspicious food for an outrageous price. This place is like the taco bell of Italian restaurants.

Mike W.

Yelp
Mazzi has had a long standing commitment to the Eugene community in providing authentic Italian food. I've had meatball and pesto spaghetti and the quality has remained for over fifty years. The service was also top notch getting seated, beverage order and food ordered timely and all questions answered to insure we get exactly what we wanted. We are returning with 20 guests to celebrate my mom and dads 70th anniversary and very much looking forward to it.
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
I think this is definitely one of the better restaurants in Eugene especially when it comes to finding good pasta dishes. I'd much rather go her than bepe and Gianni's. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for good Italian food :)

Sondra B.

Yelp
My husband and I had our first date at Mazzy's... Fast forward 45 years, the service is not what it used to be, the food is OK, but felt a little bit ripped off because we were required to give a certain percentage of gratuity for just six people at one table.for the service we got it definitely was not worth it. Don't think we will do that again.

Yelp
Great place. I was here visiting and had the Aunt Rose Pasta and it was amazing. The service was great and the food great also.

Yelp
My daughter and I arrived before 5pm and asked for a table for two. The parking lot was just over half full, the lobby was completely empty, and there were many empty tables in the dining room. The hostess said it was a busy night and they wouldn't be able to seat us. Genuinely blows my mind how little effort was made when we easily could've been served. Our experiences have been hit or miss here over the years, but we've always been able to walk in, and having a neighborhood restaurant that you can eat at on a whim is a nice amenity. But seeing as how little effort was made when the restaurant was anywhere but bustling, I can safely say we'll drive a few extra minutes to go to a better fun operation in the future.

Yelp
Our plans to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary at Walt Disney World had to be postponed due to Covid. We opted instead to celebrate with a quite dinner at home, recreating our reception meal which included lasagna. Not wanting to cook, we ordered from Mazzi's. The lasagna was DELICIOUS. I pride myself on my home made lasagna but Mazzi's was actually better! But the main reason I'm taking the time to write this review is the length that the staff went to to extend kindness to us. Our order was not quite ready when we arrived and when we shared with the staff that it was our 25th anniversary, we were escorted to the patio. The heater was lit and we were given 2 complimentary glasses of Prosecco and a basket of warm bread to enjoy while we waited. Kindness is what we all need right now and Mazzi's delivered!

Yelp
Went here for dinner with friends and was really disappointed. It has been a favorite Italian place of mine in Eugene my whole life. The dinner rolls are usually amazing and this time they were not the same rolls but dry and bland, not the same kind of roll at all. They reminded me of rolls I have had on airplanes. My iced tea was very weak, had no ice and I had to request sweetener. Never any offer to refill my tea or our water. The salads had little dressing on them which was watery and the greens were not as fresh as I would have liked. The calzone looked great. The bread and sauce were good. It seemed like it had mostly cheese and very little other filling. There were parts that truly had nothing between the layers of dough. They did offer a free birthday dessert. I ordered the strawberry shortcake which was like a trifle in a dessert cup and was very good. The server was pleasant but not great. She didn't seem very experienced or professional like I would expect at a restaurant like this. Overall, it was just not what I had come to expect at Mazzi's and was pretty disappointed.
