Best breakfast we've had in a long time. Got the last biscuits and gravy before they 86'd, and did not disappoint. All other food--crepes, potatoes, breakfast sandwich--excellent as well. Belt-powered fans on the ceiling really unique, evidence of really intentional design and atmosphere. Our toddler was fascinated with them. Waitress was excellent. Even though place was completely full, she got us a seat at the bar right away to keep our little one from getting hangry due to late lunch. Owner visited with us while we ate. Really nice guy, gave us great ideas on other shops to check out during our visit while he cooked. Amazing food, staff, atmosphere. They're doing something great here. Go!

Coffee is wonderful and service is quick, friendly and attentive! The food is reasonably priced for the amount and quality. I had the American Breakfast- get the homemade peanut butter for your toast, you won’t regret it! Hubby had Croque Madame and loved it. Atmosphere is great and restaurant is clean.

Very cool atmosphere and feel, there's outdoor seating in front and behind. The food was real good, we had the eggs Benedict and a crepe with mixed berries. The crepe was decent, my least favorite part of the meal. The coffee was decent as well. I gave this place 5 stars for the service and ambiance.

Sent for breakfast and loved the Croque Madam and strawberry crepe. Probably would pass on the biscuits and gravy next time. Great staff

A quaint little breakfast place. The mocha was to die for! Great smooth espresso and bitter balanced chocolate! The location was very cute, and the menu was small but varied. I enjoyed eating here and would stop again. Well located and delicious crepes!!

Google
Cute place in the heart of downtown Sioux Falls where everything you want to try is at like Blarney Stone and Josiah’s cafe and so much more. Atmosphere is nice and it’s a nice favorite local for brunch. The staff were so wonderful allowing me to stay after closing to get something important done. Really meant a lot to me. Thank you so much for your kindness. The crepe (I ordered the Seasonal Vegetarian Crepe) which was good and had mozzarella cheese, yellow peppers, tomatoes, spinach, balsamic vinegar. The crepe itself was very good but just not enough filling so I felt like it was mostly the crepe even though the crepe is very yummy. There was a really thin thin slice of mozzarella cheese about 1mm in thickness that didn’t cover 85% of the whole crepe meal area. The Asian noodle salad which is offered during lunch only, and in small $5.75) or large ($8.25) portions, was a cold noodle one with shrimp, peppers, carrots, rice noodles, cabbage, scallions, and peanuts. The cabbage was crunchy so it’s not easy to eat if your teeth aren’t great, though. I understand it’s a salad, and the dressing was a bit bland and I wished they used the same sauce for either Phad thai noodles or Vietnamese spring rolls (the clear fish sauce based sauce with sugar and vinegar which has more flavor). Overall a nice place to eat with friends or just alone while thinking or people watching or being on your phone or reading. The ambience and the good hearted staff made it all a great place for me. Thank you.

Google
Great small place for breakfast and cup of coffee! Plan to wait for a seat on the weekends, but it is worth the wait! The small limited menu, means freshness, everything made to order right in front of, well if you sit at the bar like did. The crepe was amazing, my waitress suggest adding the sunny side up egg, it was an amazing suggestion, thank you! I will definitely be coming, the food was great, tasty and the service was amazing!

Made a small side trip to Sioux Falls just after Christmas and had a fantastic time. MB Haskett had a delicious, though limited, breakfast menu. We really enjoyed eating here.

Yelp
They always have an interesting menu. We went there during the January burger battle, very tasty. I would like to go back and try something else on their menu.

Yelp
Loved the little shop. It was high quality and the food matched the high class shop. The food was full of great flavor and not stale or lacking of freshness. The woman that waited on us was really sweet and fast with our food. The prices were real good as well. You get your moneys worth .

Yelp
Had a great crepe today. Cheddar and bacon and added an egg. Just wonderful. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Nice light and thin crepe. First time sitting in their back outside seating area too. Nice little urban oasis. Friendly and fast service too.

Yelp
M.B. Hackett is an excellent restaurant in downtown Sioux Falls. The food is new American with seasonal menus, and fresh ingredients. I've been there twice in the last couple weeks that I have been visiting Sioux Falls, and most recently we went for brunch. I had minced sausage with toast and poached eggs. The eggs were poached perfectly, the whole dish was executed well. Prices are very reasonable given the quality and the portions are quite healthy. I highly recommend M.B. Hackett for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Yelp
On a Saturday night at 8:00 we were the only ones in the restaurant. Not sure why; the food was pretty good and the prices reasonable. The arctic char was well cooked and served with wild rice and broccolini. It was simple and rather tasty. The same could be said for the duck breast, which came with polenta and roasted greens. Usually food of this quality attracts larger crowds, which the nice rehabbed store front space could easily handle.

Yelp
Erin was our server. Excellent food and well prepared. Really enjoyed watching the cooks and chef at work.

Yelp
Meh!!. Very very noisy. I came in to find my friend who was already seated. The security guy inside was looking at me like I was an alien just arriving from space. He did not even speak to me or try to ask if I needed any help. One of the noisiest, most crowded places I have ever been. It felt like I would go partially deaf before the evening was over!!. Definitely not coming back. If I do, please chop my feet off!!

Yelp
I came in by myself around 10 AM on a Thursday morning. Parking was a little difficult, but not impossible. You have to pay to park. I ordered the savory crape and added a poached egg. It was delicious. The crepe was light and delicate and the poached egg was perfect. Locally made sauces from Dagger & Arrow are available on your table. The green one is "Diablo"verde sauce and the orange one is "Kiss of Death" habañero. They offer them for purchase...in prettier bottles, of course. The service was friendly and quick. I was out of there by 10:20. I would definitely take someone here to share the experience!

Yelp
MB Haskett's fits in nicely in the Sioux Falls restaurant scene. The menu is not vast but definitely packs a punch if you like poached eggs of any variety and the crepes are great. Definitely go there for breakfast and arrive early if you do.

Brad K.

Yelp
This place is fantastic for breakfast I have not eaten there for lunch but if it's anything like breakfast I don't think you will be disappointed. The quiche. Lorraine is so good and is probably what I order the most. The staff take great care of you while your there. In the summer months they have a patio out back that we prefer. The rest of the time we like to sit by the front windows and enjoy the Sioux Falls downtown view.

Yelp
MB Haskett has a cute, coffee shop/diner feel. The hubs and I visited here while on vaca for our anniversary. The wait was about 15 minutes on a Saturday morning around 9:30am (we were told the wait would be 30 minutes). Since there is not much room for a wait line, we had to squeeze to let people in and out. Once seated, we were taken care of right away. In pictures from previous patrons I saw a latte that had a special design in the froth. I asked the waitress for a coffee that had the design. She said she could give me one, but, unfortunately when it came to me it just had a normal froth on top. On the plus side, it's the first caramel latte I have liked! For breakfast we ordered the specials. The quiche was okay, not something I would order again. The shrimp and grits, however, was amazing! I've had many grits in the past and have only had them this good in the south! Overall, I would definitely try MB Haskett again, just maybe not the roasted red pepper quiche. Happy eating Yelpers!

Yelp
Stopped in here for a coffee and to do some work. Needed up with a chai tea latte, a cup of homemade lentil soup and the most freaking delicious veggie crepe I've ever had! I'm picky with my seasonings... my sister is a soup chef at her third James beard award winning restaurant, and I feel like I know my food. So when I tell you that this crepe was seasoned perfectly. I mean it was seasoned perfectly Bravo MB. I'll be back.

Lauren W.

Yelp
Best breakfast we've had in a long time! Service was great & the atmosphere was awesome!

Yelp
A trip back to Sioux Falls isn't complete without a visit to Haskett's. Between the incredible service, the fresh/delightful food and the pints of mimosas, there is no better spot for a morning meal on Phillips.

Yelp
Neat little place, we had quiche and crepes, and coffee. Everyone loved their food, would definitely recommend.

Yelp
Everyone has a bad day, that's a given. tried to go in solo this morning. Hostess / Server was dismissive and muttered under her breath after I asked for a single seat even at the bar. i understand when people weeded and communication is a little off. I turned around and left I felt pretty disrespected. it's been a bit since I have been in to the place , I travel a lot for work . Live in the building down the street. Im letting this bother me way to much , just seems like her bad day leeched into my morning. Hope she figures it out

Yelp
We had a long day and no time to cook, as we had plans in the evening so everyone was willing to go out and we ended up eating here. We got the Turkey soup and BLTs that were very savory. It all tasted fresh, not like from a can or old. They try to do what they do farm to table and as they are a small operation, this means their menu is going to be limited, but flavorful. We also enjoyed their offerings for salad which consisted of potato salad and two other types. They do have a bathroom you can use should you need

Yelp
The first thing to know is that the cafe only serves breakfast on the weekends until 2pm. I was hoping that at such a late time, the lunch menu would be offered. The two dishes that my boyfriend and I tried were the Savory Crepe and the daily house special, the Huevos Rancheros. The savory crepe ($8.50) was decent - it had ham, spinach, and cheese, and we added a sunny side up egg (+$1.50). I didn't think it was anything special though. On the other hand, the Huevos Rancheros ($9) that I ordered was so unlike any other version of the dish that I've had, I didn't really enjoy it. I thought the salsa was bland, and the whole thing was sitting in a pool of liquid. Overall, I was excited to try the cafe based on the reviews, and the cook staff was largely female (which I love!!) but was underwhelmed with what was put in front of me.

Darrell H.

Yelp
Cute place with great food and service. Had the shrimp and grits with 2 poached eggs, delicious! The homemade hot sauce was fantastic!

Yelp
Stopped in for noon lunch on a Thursday. Ordered the lunch special, "Tuna melt". Very delicious. Also ordered a salad special "cup" sized. This salad was very filling and worth the $4. The tuna melt I felt could've been bigger for the price. I also ordered the upside down cake which consisted of a moist bread with peaches and cream. This was good however I can't remember the pricing. I got my order to go. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The facility looked very urban, calm, and stress free. Had a nice coffee aroma lingering as well. Overall I'd say the pricing could have been a little cheaper as I felt like that could allow more people to come in. Noon hour was not very busy.

Yelp
Great cold brew and breakfast sandwiches! We took ours to the park and had a lovely morning

Yelp
Delicious brunch options! Especially enjoyed their cheddar & bacon crepe (add an egg) and their egg & bacon sandwich on an English muffin.

Yelp
What an amazing breakfast! The past reviews were on point. Everything from the graffiti walls to the service was outstanding. Our waitress, Tuesday, offered suggestions to us and we were not disappointed. I had the breakfast sandwich and my fiancée had the quiche of the day. Great prices, great service, great food, great ambiance. We will def be visiting this place again when we are in Sioux Falls.

Yelp
What I recommend trying... 1. Breakfast/brunch: get the special. Whatever it is that day - just do it. Try it with a cup of coffee from The Breaks Coffee Roasting or a (pint) mimosa. 2. Lunch: again, the special won't disappoint. A savory crepe with an added egg is also perfect for lunch. I love the cheddar & bacon crepe. Try it with either of the hot sauces which are made locally. 3. Dinner: as a starter, I recommend the rosemary spiced nuts. The dinner menu changes with the season, but currently I highly recommend the lemongrass walleye or chicken picatta. End dinner with a slice of housemade white chocolate cheesecake.

Yelp
Cute place with simple menu. Nice outdoor seating too with mural paintings. Good service.

Andrey V.

Yelp
Good coffee, food menu is limited but their specials are solid. Ate here almost weekly, but yesterday we were rejected because we didn't have masks. In December we ate here without them. We won't be back here anytime soon.
google avatar

Kristen M.

Yelp
The food here is sooo good!! I came at an odd time - 3pm - so their full menu wasn't available. I had to choose from their deli case, and ordered the muffaletta and creamy tomato bisque. OMG the muffaletta was out of this world! I've never had it before and now I'm definitely a fan. I even overheard another patron come in and order it, saying he had tried it for the first time the other day and won't order anything else. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Wen D.

Yelp
I've been here 4 times. Twice for lunch and twice for dinner. The atmosphere is great and the back patio is phenomenal and the service consistent. Plus they are dog friendly! I don't come here for the food. They have really interesting rotating menu items, but we've gotten steak, soups, appetizers, dessert, sandwiches and nothing was too memorable in favor or taste with no urgency to return. The only thing I remember really liking enough to go back was the duck pate on Charcuterie and Cheese Plate. In all fairness, I haven't tried everything or their breakfast menu, which is quite frequented.
google avatar

Christina W.

Yelp
On a Saturday morning this place was rather crowded, but they accommodated my party of one right away at the bar. The place was rather busy, and the service slow. I waited for a menu for about 5 minutes and then another 30 minutes for my two poached eggs with a toast. I guess the pace of life is slower, so I really should just relax a bit. Or maybe not... Eggs were ok, nothing to brag about, but bread was amazing! I also ordered their peach ice tea, which was unsweetened. Absolutely loved it!
google avatar

Marie S.

Yelp
While on a road trip, my partner and I stopped in Sioux Falls and came here for breakfast. The shop itself is beautiful, very clean, and inviting. Everyone was very friendly, and our food was incredible. Can not recommend enough!
google avatar

Matt J.

Yelp
Michael does it best! I remember working with him at TGIFridays. That was 20 years ago. Now, he's the premiere chef in our market. Sustainable foods. Farm to table. Gutsy choices and pairings. If you want the best food around this is it!
google avatar

Christy F.

Yelp
It has been my dream to come here since I started following MB HASKETT on Instagram. This is all I ever wanted in a breakfast BLTA (& , of course) It was beyond my expectation...I was so full. Every bite bursting with flavor! I did add just a touch of hot sauce. Cuz, that's the way I roll! My husband had a delicious quiche. He loved it. Thank you MB! And oh by the way, I got to meet the owner and he offered us txts to the Canaries game that afternoon! How cool is that?!
google avatar

I V.

Yelp
The food is always seasonal and typically farm fresh. I love the fact that I can plop down, order anything on the menu and feel at home. The Bison Tavern is the adult equivalent of a gourmet Sloppy Joe. (the pickles, oh the pickles!) The muffuletta sandwich is my go-to. That sandwich is a duet of Breadico's unctuousness and Haskett's mastery of tapenade and cured meats, coming together for greatness in your mouth-hole. Again, seasonality brings in tasty salads like the German Potato, which has beautiful little gherkins and punchy bits of celery that add the texture and brightness to a surprisingly refreshing interpretation of the German classic (although, I would love to see some bacon added because: Bacon). Breakfast, coffee, salads - it's all fabulous and the service, again - feels like home.

Yelp
Stopped in for a leisurely breakfast on Monday morning. Great service. I loved the space, minimalist chic. Had the special, smoked salmon and cream cheese frittata, so good. It came with a side salad. Since I'm not a big coffee drinker I had their ginger peach ice tea, delicious!

Yelp
We were passing through town between (driving back from Rapid City back to Lincoln Nebraska). Checked Yelp and it said that this was a good deli. It is so much more! Have the crepes. The coffee is great, there are deserts and cheeses etc. Will be back!

Melba T.

Yelp
Met a friend for breakfast at this LOVELY Cafe and I'm so glad we did. We both had coffee and a savory crepe with toast. The food was delish and coffee was, as well. Our waitress was fantastic- our coffee and water never went low. Acoustics are just right, even though it's a cozy Cafe. Bring coins for the meter or swipe your card for parking. We will be back soon!

Mo R.

Yelp
Walked in, there was a wait, took my name and phone number. Said it would be about 15 mins. Walked across the street to CH patisserie. Came back and sat at the tables right outside waiting for phone call. Other customers that arrive after got seated. 30 mins later the lady comes out and tells two set of ladies their table was ready. Completely ignored that i was waiting. Still never got a phone call at all. Walked across the street to Josiahs coffeehouse and cafe. Glad that i did they have amazing fresh squeezed OJ. Not to say this was the factor but i am a person of color.

Jo T.

Yelp
This spot is perfect for meeting old friends for brunch. The service is amazing, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is so cozy it's hard to leave and not sit there with a book all day. It's a must-visit spot when I'm back in Sioux Falls.

Shari L.

Yelp
Our very favorite breakfast spot! The quiche is divine, the staff is amazing, their safety protocol has been outstanding during this awful pandemic. It's the one place we venture out to. We have been known to sit long enough to need a second meal! And they are always gracious about that, too. Friendly, personal, professional with top notch food. Doesn't get better than that!! Don't let a bogus negative review from some jerks expecting their own set of rules keep you from going!
google avatar

Allison L.

Yelp
Such amazing potential, worst experience. I'll start by saying the food is awesome. Service is poor at best, took forever. Friendly, yes. One of my favorite rock bands would be Aerosmith, but at 7:30 am? Too loud before coffee (which was excellent). Hoping this was just a bad day. Great design; Sioux Falls is updating logos, interiors at a rapid pace-service and restaurant function must catch up! Step it up please.
google avatar

Joel G.

Yelp
I don't have a picture of the food I ate here, and that's because it was so good I ate it all with no chance for a photo. The staff here was incredible. From Tuesday, the hostess/waitress, to the cook, and the young lady working in the kitchen. We stopped here on a trip from Chicago to Seattle. I'm a vegan, and Tuesday suggested the prefect special rice meal for me. It was AMAZING. I can't stress enough how lovely this place is. Thank you thank you thank you.

Walter P.

Yelp
We have been going to Haskett's since they opened. Everyone there is amazing. Especially Mike. The review from Leslie F. neglects the context of how that table treated the servers that day and in the past. I applaud Micheal for doing what more people should do. If someone is trying to smoke/vape inside of a restaurant it affects the other guests at that establishment. If a customer has been asked multiple times and each time mocks the servers as they walk away, they absolutely should be called out publicly. I applaud Mike, for your outstanding food and service, and for your no bullshit attitude. I think I need to get down there more often.

Shannon M.

Yelp
Came in from out of town and stopped in after reading some recommendations online. If nothing else the atmosphere is great! I got the quiche of the day which was delicious but on my second and third stops got the salad and soup of the day. They're pre-made, but still taste so fresh. Topped it off with a cookie on the way out and had no regrets

Natalie M.

Yelp
If I had to pick the best place to have breakfast at in Sioux Falls, it would be MB Haskett, hands down. From the aesthetic to the delicious, fresh food, this place is exceptional. My favorite item on the menu is the savory crepe, though you really can't go wrong. An additional plus, Haskett's is practicing social distancing and taking measures to ensure the safety of patrons during this pandemic.
google avatar

Jeff D.

Yelp
I almost gave up on finding palatable food in Sioux Falls until this simple lunch. Everything exceeded expectations, including the canned Italian lemon soda! Nice people, good food, quirky building...who needs more?
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
Great local restaurant with fresh, healthy options. I dropped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. To my surprise they were one of only a few eateries open within a few miles of downtown. I got the ham and guyere cheese crepe.I usually avoid crepes because they aren't filling, but this one was delicious and filling! We split the blueberry muffin (huge) between our two young boys; it was pulled from a cast iron oversized muffin pan and was still warm.
google avatar

Ming S.

Yelp
Food and atmosphere both get 4 stars. TLDR; ask server for help with food selection. Seasonal items are either amazing or simply adequate. Good place to chat with a friend. There isn't a huge selection, but you're sure to find something you like if you're not picky. Looks like you can make your own charcuterie board by mixing different preserves, cheeses, and cured meats ($2.5 each) or get a reasonably priced seasonal menu item ($6-$9). I got 'bison tavern,' which was a ground bison meat sandwich, and came with pub fries and pickles. Nothing about the flavor was striking to me, but everything was fine. Service was excellent, and I couldn't help but admire the wooden walls and painted tin ceiling. Good place for a quick bite.
google avatar

Kylie M.

Yelp
I really enjoy this place every time I come in for lunch! All fresh, local and feel good foods. I typically do a sandwich and soup sometimes a salad. Menu changes which keeps me constantly intrigued to see what they have each day. I would recommend the Mufaletta and they're soups! But I'm not going to lie, their Thai Chicken Salad is to die for! Thanks guys for being a fresh element to downtown!
