(If I could mark zero stars I would) I was stunned by the service that I received from McAlister during my last visit. During this COVID-19, my family and I have been eating a lot at McAlister or Brick Oven. We enjoy alternating between the restaurants. We ordered a few days ago and decided to order the same order, and my wife would pick up the order from work. She got off at 8 p.m., and it was a less than three-minute ride to McAlister. I ordered as I always do via the online McAlister app. At 8:03, my wife arrived at the window, asked for the order. The young lady at the window informed her that they did not have the order. Maybe it went to another store. My wife called me and asked when did I send the request? I told her to the location on N. Judge Ely, the young lady searched and then was told that the order was sent to the site on S. Clack then she asked my wife to please move up and wait. After 30 mins of waiting, my wife returned to the window and asked about the order. The manager arrived at the window and informed of the situation.
The manager searched the shelf, retrieved our order, and handed her the bags. After 35 minutes of waiting, one would believe the ordeal to be over. Upon arriving home, a few side items were missing, one of the sweet lemonades was sour, they forgot to add sugar. One of the sandwiches appeared as though the sandwich makes just through a bunch of shop meat on it instead of ham as requested. The food quality had diminished somewhat after 35 minutes of sitting there on the shelf. Soggy bread from the tomato's, missing condiments, excess lettuce throwing on, it was a mess.
My wife works elsewhere with one of the managers of that McAlister location. The next day she informed the individual of the incident. He told her that that was one of the typical things this particular individual would do when it is close to closing time, and there were a lot of idiots that did stuff like that working there. They would throw something together (sandwich) to get the customer on their way so they can close the restaurant up. My wife is his manager at another food chain and could not believe what she had heard, and he was a Manager at McAlister's'! Wow, she shook her head, knowing that would be the last time that friends or we would visit that particular McAlister.
Indeed one of the worse experiences I, my family, or any of my co-workers/friends has encountered at McAlister's (we asked them, you know, word of the month can hurt you). The price of McAlisters' meals truly warrants better quality and service.
