"Opened in 1982 by John and Jo Dean, McCabe’s was named after the nearby city-owned golf course. It evolved from a sports bar to a lunch-and-dinner establishment known for its welcoming atmosphere and comforting takes on American Southern cuisine. The pub was famous for char-grilled burgers, hand-cut fries, pan-fried trout, meat-and-three plates, and homemade cakes. Stefanie Dean Brown and Katie Dean Egbert, daughters of the founders, later took over operations. McCabe’s received numerous awards, including 'Favorite Neighborhood Bar,' 'Best Burger,' and 'Best Dessert.' The pub also hosted the McCabe Pub Crawfish Boil, raising awareness for lymphangioleiomyomatosis and the LAM Foundation. The restaurant operates Monday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and will close in January 2024." - Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

Great pub atmosphere, well decorated, nicely kept up with. Service was fantastic. If the food was halfway decent, we'd be regulars. We were excited about the open faced pot roast with mashed potatoes, what a let down. The roast beef was devoid of flavor and rubbery like it had been microwaved. Mashed potato felt and tasted like it was from powder. Gravy tasted funny and didn't make either better. Catfish was thin pieces that were overly crisp on the outside but the inside was not cooked all the way through. They did comp the catfish without me asking so that was good. Squash casserole was pretty good.

I have heard about McCabe for years, but never went. I'm sorry I didn't go years ago. The bacon, gouda cheeseburger was excellent. Crispy bacon and moist and juicy burger. Cooked just right. Would have given it a 5, but I ordered chips expecting them to be homemade, but just right out of the bag plain chips. A disappointment.

Well, while my sample size of food is slim, this place is an easy 4 star minimum. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly. While they didn’t have chess pie the day I went, I tried their broccoli casserole which was unreal. Actually mind blowing! They put walnuts in their casserole, and the casserole itself is sweet! Easily the best casserole I’ve ever had. While the quantity is small, it is delicious. Next time I’m definitely coming when they have their chess pie!

Went because I found on a list of best Hamburger Steaks in Nashville. It was ok at best. Definitely not one of the best. The server had to go ask the kitchen if they could make gravy. How are going to serve mashed potatoes without gravy? Very high priced for lunch item. Also it’s a nicer upscale dinning room serving drinks in a thin plastic cup. Your doing business in the south and you don’t have sweet tea?

McCabe Pub was a wonderful retro style restaurant. My wife had said that when she used to live in the area, they had the best burgers. They didn't let us down. They still have a great burger! (And rest assured, they have parking. Just park and go in, you'll see that it's taken care of.)

Gave this place five stars. Ordered FISH-IN-CHIPS $13.50, and 1/2 order of ONION RINGS $3.50. With tip $21.12. Food and service was great. I added photo. 😀 .

When I just want classic American food this is my go to. The food is good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff is great. They don't do it fancy here, just good simple food. Great place for families and for something quick if you're hungry.

Nice neighborhood pub with a good mix of menu and bar items. They have a nice patio covered by a trellis. A friendly, comfortable place.
