I had the pleasure of working with McCalls Catering for a fundraising event at the Exploratorium, and I cannot sing their praises enough. Heather's meticulous preplanning ensured that every detail was seamlessly taken care of well in advance and the food was absolutely delicious. On-site, Julia and the team were a force to be reckoned with. Their efficiency and lightning-fast service left a lasting impression on both myself and our guests. McCalls Catering truly went above and beyond to ensure that every culinary aspect of the event was nothing short of perfection.

There is certainly a reason why McCall’s is one of the most respected names in Bay Area Catering. They recently catered my 200 person wedding at the Legion of Honor Museum with expertise, professionalism, and deliciousness. They really are the most knowledgeable company working in all the SF event spaces. The Legion of Honor was an incredibly difficult space to work in. Being an active museum means set up times are tight, there is no kitchen, and a litany of other restrictions, but McCall’s handles everything and knows exactly what they are doing and how to execute excellence anyways. In particular Lee Gregory was a delight to work with. She understood that food (and craft cocktails) were incredibly important to my husband and me and worked to implement all of our culinary ideas. Lee is solution oriented and always finds a way to make it work. Thank you to Lee and McCall’s for the most delicious wedding! I know we couldn’t have pulled it off without you on our team!

I had the pleasure of working with Mccalls when they catered at the Hibernia. From the staff to the food it was impeccable and I was blown away. It was the most beautiful set up I have ever seen like something you would expect for royalty. I got a chance to try the food and it was as good as it looked. The staff were very kind, organized, and personable. I will always recommend them and hope to work with them in the future.

Its been a number of years probably more than a decade in which I was a guest at an event catered by the McCalls Catering team and recently had the opportunity to attend an event hosted by a major bank at the Exploratorium. Kudos to the servers and server assistants with special recognition to Shirley and Megan who worked on Feb 28th. Both provided exceptional service and interaction with our party of three. They both picked up on the items that we liked and made it a point to always check in and return with those same items. Overall, selections of the the mini appetizers, beverages and desserts were great which made the event that more enjoyable. My only feedback was I thought that the moisture of both the chocolate and white strawberry mini cupcakes were a tad dry with the strawberry inside being better than the other type. Despite this, 5 stars for tonight's catered event by MCC.

There are plenty of locally owned businesses that you can support other than this racist company. I feel very unfortunate to have come across some of the most unprofessional staff members I could ever imagine. You'd think that a premium catering service that has most likely lost money would have a bit more heart and be open to engaging with prospective consumers in the midst of a pandemic, but you'd be wrong. They were so unfriendly! I was ignored when I walked into their office hoping to connect with someone. It's not like folks couldn't see me, there is a big window in the front. I am hosting an event nearby and was working with the different caterer and thought maybe I could use them instead because they are a neighboring business. When I finally did speak with a person he treated me as if I didn't have money. Saying things like "We work with big companies" "I am not sure I can give you a deal" Mind you, I never asked for a deal. In looking at their other reviews, they did an event at someone's "small home and catered a non-profit event. HE RACIALLY PROFILED ME! I am not sure why I had to go through all that to spend money. It was offensive! When I phoned to talk with someone who might help me with the problem, I spoke with Lee, one of their owners, who was aggressive, interrupted me, and screamed things like "ugh...Oh my God." She made it apparent that she had no intention of listening to me. I'm just throwing it out there. There are so many better companies run by decent people out there. It's upsetting to read their other reviews and see how terribly they treat their staff, as well as reports of sexual harassment and racial incidents that occur under their watch. Again, spend your dollars elsewhere. This place is not worthy at all. Shame on them.

McCall's catered a small home celebration for us as a very special treat. The racks of lamb, roasted turnips potatoes and carrots and a whole array or gorgeous appetizers were such a treat! Thank you to the team Who have figured out how to bring the McCall's standard of catering to home events

McCalls catered a 250-person event for our non-profit organization in September 2021. The service and staff were exceptional. We could not have wished for a better experience with the team. The food was extraordinary. Everyone commented that it was hard to believe that McCalls could provide such a wonderful dinner a group of this size seamlessly.

My husband and I can't even say enough good things and reiterate what a great decision it was to hire McCalls to cater our wedding at the De young museum earlier this month. From the get go, Hannah was the one that answered our questions and worked with us along the way and I can't even mention how at ease she made us feel throughout the whole process. She reminded me of myself, which allowed my husband and I to put our faith in her as she was the most organized, responsive, open to provide guidance, recommendations and suggestions. It also helped that McCalls is the recommended in house caterer for our venue as they already know all the policies, restrictions, and we didn't have to worry about load in/out procedures as they were already familiar with everything which lessened the stress load. From the planning of our decor to our food tasting, the whole setup and food exactly depicted the way it would be on our wedding day which gave us no doubts and got us so excited for all of our guests during the wedding day, since everything was pretty much perfect and tasted fantastic. Up until the week of needing to make changes, Hannah was always there to answer us and make changes immediately even if she was out of the office. She helped us coordinate and work with vendors in terms of ensuring delivery details were shared and everyone was looped in along the way. On the day of our wedding, I can't thank Rene, Gloria, and the rest of the McCalls team enough for making everything run so smoothly. My husband and I are still impressed at how helpful the McCalls staff was, how delicious the food and drinks were, and our guests cannot stop raving at how amazing the food and service was. Thank you for making our special day the best day ever! I highly recommend contacting McCalls for your next event!

They were catering food at 2010 Black and White Ball. They had all kinds of food and they were nothing more than generous with their servings of dim sum, lamb, fancy hot dogs and then sashimi. And they kept the food coming... . . . and coming... . . . . and coming. The dim sum kept coming that I had to get creative in how to get as many of them before the other drunk folks beat me to them. Use a chopstick and poke and snatch as many of them in one go as fast as possible. I was able to get at least six in one pass. ;D

Oh man, where do I start?! McCalls was such an integral part of our wedding and they truly did everything they could, even beyond just catering. We hired McCalls to cater our wedding Labor Day weekend 2015 and it was such an amazing experience working with Anna. What I loved the most about Anna is her determination to get it right and guide you every step of the way. No question is too silly or much. McCalls was recommended even before we started planning our wedding in SF. We recently moved from east coast back home here in SF. Our wedding planner here recommended another caterer but the food choices and taste wasn't that great. We insisted on speaking with McCalls and once we met Anna, we knew it was a better choice - she was just so much more attentive and inviting. She had us over for an initial pre-tasting just so she can get an idea of what we wanted (before we signed anything). She had us over at a wedding the day before so we could get a feel for everything as she got to know us. If that isn't service, I don't know what is! Moreover, she was willing to research and incorporate different traditional recipes and menus that meant a lot to my mom. When Anna found out we were having our wedding/reception at San Francisco City Hall, she invited us to yet another event so we could get a better idea for our wedding at the same location by witnessing. She didn't have to obviously - she just always goes above and beyond! I ended up falling in love with the choir we say at that event and just had to have them at ours! It was one of the highlights of the day! She also guided me with the layout of my reception, etc. she was pretty much doing the job of a planner! Ok let's get to the tasting - I went back and forth with Anna to put together a menu that I felt was exactly what we wanted and she had us over for our tasting. The overall consensus was the food was tasty and presentation was amazing. We had to make some modifications but that was based on the specific recipes from my mom and some non-traditional dishes. I left knowing that we were in good hands. Lastly, McCalls was able to SAVE a key element of my reception decor because they had the candelabras that went with exactly what I wanted. I reached out to Anna based on the pictures I had seen from her and thankfully Anna at McCalls was able to deliver ALL the candelabras even though they had another wedding that weekend as well. So thankful! McCalls seriously made all the difference. I just wish I could've used them for everything! For brides out there, I would not only recommend McCalls for food and catering, I would HIGHLY recommend them for the overall package - full planning, florals, production, catering, etc. They can seriously do it all. They've done all sorts of events (not just corporate!) and they'll personalize your event perfectly. They also have connections/discounts with all the same vendors that top planners have, so you'll get all the benefits/perks and then more! Overall, Anna is pleasant to work with, she cares, so humble, she gets it, she'll go above and beyond, and she has a fantastic eye! If you are a bride who likes top notch service, high quality and excellent delivery, McCalls is for you! Worth every penny!

Ha-ha... so yeah, this outfit just catered our donated fundraiser holiday office party - long story - anyway, so yeah they were the food providers. And it was good. Three stars. Yay! But here's the thing, the gentlemen serving the food, or near the food, seemed to have no idea exactly what they were serving. Some of it was straight forward. Shrimp and cocktail sauce fine. We get it. Its clear from forty feet away. But when I ask what is this, and you say 'Mexican Specialties' ...well you can see how that's not very fucking helpful. And it was loud, because of the bad DJ (whole 'nother story - I guess he was on loan from the Beauty Bar or your cousin's wedding or whatever. Later for that), so I had to ask a couple three times, and... well... Suffice to say I didn't eat the Mexican Specialties. (Later I would discover it was Chile Colorado, one of my favorites, so that's a pity.) I understand that working a catering gig is on the lowest service industry rung. It is. I mean, you've got to interact with customers and they see you as no more than the cafeteria lady. And you're wearing a tux! But still. Is it too much to let them know what the hell kind of food they're standing behind? Damn McCalls. A little more give-a-fuck, and you'd have that fourth star. So yeah. Good food. Three Stars. Yay?

One expression for McCalls---"OMG"!!!! I am a wedding coordinator and had the utmost pleasure and privilege to work with McCalls at the Legion of Honor for a wedding on 9/8/12. Hannah and her team was stellar in every single way! From the very beginning, Hannah and I had a long string of email conversations to ensure the bride was satisfied and her emails were constantly peppy and full of positive news. You can tell Hannah loved her job b/c it exuded through her emails and phone calls. When I finally met Hannah, it was nothing short of enthusiastic. I knew she would be great to work with on the big day. Lo and behold, at the event, she was a joy to partner up with. Her team was so courteous, swift, attentive, and a strong force that assured every detail was perfect. They would repeatedly ask if I needed extra assistance in any way (lifting boxes, placing name cards, turning centerpieces a certain way, promptly laying out linens, etc....and even asking me over half a dozen times if I needed water or a beverage--so awesome!) The vendors had the privilege to enjoy the same food as the guests and again---"OMG"!! Talk about succulent filet mignon and mushroom risotto. I just about died and it warmed up my stomach so nicely, especially being so busy for 10 hours already. It gave me the perfect recharge of energy to continue working the rest of the night. The other vendors were raving how delicious their dishes were as well. At the end, Hannah and her team magically made everything clean and precise with continued enthusiasm. When staff members had to switch positions, they'd formally introduce themselves to me so I would be aware of who I'd need to call on. Very professional! Hannah even stayed til the very end with me (past midnight) to send off the last of the guests, and the bride and groom. Now THAT'S customer service! I've done many weddings and no catering company has impressed me like McCalls. Food is definitely outstanding beyond belief. But being a vendor myself, it's truly a blessing to work alongside with someone who has the same vision as yours--promising to deliver the best of the best efforts for that very special occasion to very important clients. We got married at the deYoung, and they provided a list of caterers they permitted for events. I contacted everyone on the list, with a very specific (non-traditional) wedding menu idea. Hannah at McCalls, from the very beginning, was responsive, excited, and just generally great to work with. Even though they were slightly more money, I liked Hannah's attitude so much, I decided to go with McCalls. And I am so happy I did! Throughout the whole process, she was so sweet and fun to work with. The food was delicious! Chicken & waffles, mac & cheese bar, sliders, tacos, sweet potato tater tots... our homestyle comfort food small plates were deemed "The best wedding food ever" by all our guests! The McCalls staff was professional, attentive, and everyone had such a great attitude. I would highly recommend McCalls, and Hannah especially, for any event. She truly made the wedding process stress free, and to be honest, I'm a little sad it's all over and I won't be working with her anymore!

When planning an event, many things must be considered and chosen, not of least importance is the CATERER. Catering is so much more than food, precious. Fortune has selected me as a player on a exciting events team; one bullet point on our agenda this year - Our West Coast Annual Holiday Party. Our event bragged almost 450 guests; we required spectacular food and unrivaled service for our extended family and friends. We knew there was only one option: McCalls. McCalls has a reputation for excellence and is well known around the bay area as the absolute best. We had to have them. Now I introduce you to McCall's Arkenstone: Cyrus. To say Cyrus is simply professional and distinguished is like saying smoking jackets should only be worn when cigar smoking. Cyrus has the swagger of a seasoned pro and wields his knowledge like the Sword of Aragorn. Cyrus was beyond patient with our inquires and requirements (when I said we were an exciting events team, I also meant particular and perfection driven) and helped make all of our dreams come true. He helped us alter our menu, decide on staffing demands, assisted with our decor decisions and seating plan, contracted vendors, worked with our budget, and never made us doubt picking McCalls. When he visited our venue the night of our event, event planning passions aligned as he shared in the joy of our creation. "Julia, look at it - you got everything you wanted!" he exclaimed, and he couldn't have been more right. The event was beautiful, the food was beyond delectable (innumerable guests are still spouting praise), the service magnificent. So, a beginner or a novice be, choose McCalls and ask for Cyrus. You're welcome.

This is a great group of professionals who consistently delivery great food and events. I think it is an absolute shame that Dina, the other reviewer, would write such a mean spirited review based on one phone call. Has Dina not ever had an off day? Always been professional and accommodating to each person she comes into contact in her career. Her review does not even relate to the quality of food or their ability to cater wonderful events. I wish people would have some consideration as to the damage their reviews can cause.

My husband and I got married at the Asian Art Museum in August 2015. Choosing McCalls as our caterer was one of the BEST planning decisions we made. We met with a lot of caterers, but we felt the best about McCalls for a few reasons: - McCalls is able to handle events big and small. We wanted to work with a caterer experienced enough to handle a high volume and a wide range of events to ensure we would be working with a team of seasoned professionals. - McCalls is the in-house caterer at the venue--which we took as a good thing as they are familiar with the kitchen and the space. - McCalls would be able to provide the food, beverages, rentals, florals and even provided recommendations for lighting, sound and drapery. In addition, our main point of contact, Anna, would be there on our wedding day and would be able to act as our day of coordinator. First off, Anna is INCREDIBLE. Anna is kind, funny, easy going and professional. When we met her, we knew we would be in good hands. We met with several caterers, and we were blown away by McCalls from even the first email contact. Out of everyone, McCalls was the most transparent about estimated costs, which we appreciated as weddings are a huge investment. The deposit was also reasonable compared to some of the other top caterers in the city. Before deciding to go with McCalls, Anna offered to have us visit one of the events she was planning to help us get a sense of how they work (like a well oiled machine) and taste their food (delicious). Throughout the entire process, Anna was there to help answer any questions (of which we had many), allowed us to see yet another event held at our venue to help us choose the lighting, and offered any additional help she could to ensure the planning process would be painless. What's more, she gave us so many good ideas and advice about the timeline to ensure the day would run smoothly. == Rentals: 5 stars == McCalls owns a lot of high quality flatware, plates, linens and decor items, which helped ease the pain of decision making. In addition, we didn't have to work with any additional vendors. == Food & Beverage: 5 stars == Prior to our official tasting we worked with Anna and the chef to choose a menu with classic flavors. EVERYTHING was delicious both at the tasting and on the day of. In addition, they were very accommodating with our food requests and allergies. Appetizers: Spanakopita, corn soup, duck pillows, beef crostini, caponata on toast Salad: Butter lettuce, shaved vegetables, feta and grapefruit dressing Mains: Beef short rib, sea bass with chermoula, vegetarian ravioli == Staff: 5 stars == All of the staff was cordial, attentive, and professional. Cocktail hour and dinner service went without a hitch. Our guests were able to get enough food at cocktail hour, didn't have to wait long to get a drink, and were able to make any last minute food switches as needed. As the bride and groom, we had a "butler" -- I use quotes because he was more like an absolute lifesaver. He was there to ensure that we had everything that we needed: food, water, personal space, bandaids!, and was also there to help us when we took some of our portraits in front of City Hall. == Flowers: 5 stars == Miguel and Mercedes are AMAZING. When planning our wedding, we had an idea of the overall aesthetic of what we wanted. We met with a few florists, and we were told that what we wanted would be far outside our budget (almost double). We decided to go with McCalls as they came closest to our ideal floral plans within our budget and have a lot of experience with the museum's strict rules. At our design meeting, we were blown away by what they put together. They created both a tall and a short centerpiece for us to view. In addition, we were able to use their gold candelabras at no additional cost as they own them. On the day of, all of our personal flowers and the centerpieces took our breath away and far exceeded any of our expectations. It is still hard for us to believe that these were our wedding flowers. They added the necessary pop of color and gave our wedding the classic, elegant and romantic feel that we were going for.

McCalls is listed as a preferred vendor for the Asian Art Museum. We are planning a January wedding for 225+ guests. We had experienced their catering before at larger events, such as the Symphony Gala, and thought they did food on a large scale well. They submitted an initial menu with lots of Asian influenced dishes, and then we planned a call. The representative was 15 minutes late to the call. When she got on the phone, she did not even acknowledge her being late, much less apologize. I thought the appetizers looked great -- pan Asian and super fun. Then when I requested that the flavor palate for the sit-down dinner have some more Chinese and Korean influence for flavors--as opposed to Japanese and Thai-she told me no problem, mentioned Korean events that they'd done, and said they customized menus all the time. Note: McCalls has a "Chef de Asian Cuisine" on staff. The rep said she'd get back to us in three days. Did not hear anything a week and a half later. We decided this was a poor sign and decided to plan interviews with more caterers. Today, they got back to us via our wedding planner and said they did not have the resources to staff our wedding and were withdrawing their bid. Our planner has never had this before. What a terrible experience.

I wouldn't expect any less from Lucas. Everything from the food to the service is excellent. He is such a perfectionist every plate that comes out of that kitchen looks exquisite and is cooked to perfection. I've had the great pleasure of meeting some of the staff and they're all hard working a lot of great people.

I wanted to thank McCall's and Hannah for doing such an amazing job at our wedding at City Hall last Saturday! I could not have asked for a better team to cater- the food was impeccable, the service was excellent and the care and attentiveness we received from Hannah was above and beyond!! Hannah was very patient from the very beginning and believe me, there were many changes along the way and she was happy to accommodate them in a calm and timely manner. She was also aggressively responsive in emails which I was thrilled about. Planning a wedding is so stressful and she made the process very smooth and well controlled form the very beginning. The day of the wedding went off without a hitch! It was everything i could have imagined and more. McCalls NEVER ran out of food and they worked like a well oiled machine. I highly recommend McCalls and their team, you will NOT be disappointed!!

My fiance and I were interested in having our wedding at the de Young museum. McCalls is the in-house caterer for the museum so naturally they were at the top of our list of caterers to consider. We were in contact with Hannah, and we met her at the museum one evening when McCalls was catering an event in the tower. We had a chance to see an event in action, taste some of the food, and to speak with Hannah about what we were envisioning for our wedding. Hannah is very professional, helpful, and friendly. The space was beautifully decorated. The sample food looked and tasted great (although the beef gave my fiance a tummy ache later that evening!). Definitely a little awkward when Hannah just sat there watching us taste the food, haha. Anyway, we ended up not working with McCalls because we got a slightly better quote and were really wowed by another caterer. I'm sure the food and service would have been outstanding, but the other company really outdid McCalls when it came down to impressing us to seal the deal. I'm sure our wedding would be beautiful if we had picked McCalls, but they just didn't leave me thinking "OMG, wow!"

We recently had our wedding at the de Young museum, and upon planning we had to pick a catering company out of a list which is approved by the museum. We contacted each catering company, and surprisingly some did't reply, others did but with an attitude, or just with a crazy estimate. However when Hannah from McCalls got back to us, we knew we wanted to work with her not just because they had the most reasonable estimate, but because she was genuinely kind and very professional. Obviously a wedding is not something that you plan on a regular basis, and we had no clue where to start, but Hannah was SO helpful and she made sure EVERYTHING was taken care of from the moment we started planning and especially on the day of the wedding. We didn't think our wedding could be so perfect (this sounds very cheesy but it was just so perfect...) and we know Hannah and the staff from McCalls contributed so much in making this happen. Their chefs are also amazing and the food was SO good. (I want them to have a restaurant...) If you're planning a wedding and needing a catering company, we highly recommend talking to Hannah. She is AWESOME.

What can be said that hasn't been said already? They are seasoned catering pros and that alone is worth so much when you're planning your wedding and social event. As a wedding planner, I appreciated their quick turnarounds and responsiveness to any and all manner of questions about logistics, packages, and contracts. I can't tell you how many caterers falter in the admin/e-mail department. Not so with this group! Their showroom is lovely to decide on rentals, and if you get to the tasting phase, they make you feel so welcome with many attendants for your own 5-star meal! It was a pleasure working with them at the deYoung tower for our summer wedding and from bartenders to servers to banquet managers, the service was top notch with food to match. Thanks McCalls!

We were interested in having McCalls as our caterer however; they had very terrible customer service. We followed up a few times - basically chasing their business only to get a very informal reply of the cost would be $25-30K for catering an event for 75 people. WOW I was in shock that for the price above they didnt have customer service you would expect. Obviously we didnt purse this further and wouldnt trust a company that you have to follow up with.

McCall's did our catering at the Bently Reserve in SF and they were fabulous. Anna was our direct contact and helped with all the wedding planning from beginning to end. The food was over the top in taste, presentation and generosity. I don't have one complaint about this company. They were absolutely the best!!!! We worked with McCall's Floral Department, Miguel, having no idea what he could do except by photos. INCREDIBLE! He did everything we wanted, had great creative ideas, was prompt on responses and went above and beyond what we expected and he will work with your budget. He truly made our venue look magical and the bouquets were gorgeous!!!

The food was excellent; The flowers done by Miguel of McCall's Florist were out of this world; The staff is better than most hotels and give nicer service; The organization and coming together of the event was a bit too chaotic for that price for me. Hence the 3 stars. They make you feel like they have it under control, but they really don't. For example, I asked them 5 times to make sure to add a seat (I asked them the day before my wedding) to a table (which event was actually 20 people less than what we had paid for). The guest we had added had just undergone chemo and actually showed up for our wedding and gone to her table, only to find no seat for her. But I had made a place card and reminded them 3 times AT THE EVENT. So she went home. I was horrified and that shouldn't have happened but at events it can be busy. Still no excuse for that after being reminded 3 times. We also never got our leftover food (which ended up being about 40 guests) at the end of the night. Would've been a great family lunch the next day . . . Overall it's a good company, but is pricey, so my expectations are higher.

McCall's did our wedding and flowers at SF City Hall in March of this year. They were wonderful to work with and exceeded every expectation. We chose McCall's because of their excellent reputation and their experience in working at our venue and I know without a doubt that we made the right decision. Anna was wonderful to work with! She was flexible to meet with us after work hours to accommodate my schedule, was always very responsive and came up with great ideas. She was always willing to sit with us and help us to figure out exactly how to make our day as special as we wanted it to be. She always paid attention to detail and was enjoyable to work with overall. Miguel did our flowers and was equally great! He listened to all our ideas, kept the important parts and made the rest even better than I had envisioned. He totally got what I was looking for and was able to fill in the blanks for the areas where I wasn't sure. I hear that the food at the wedding was great! (I of course was barely able to eat). The presentation was beautiful and everyone raved about everything. The service was flawless and there was always someone making sure my champagne glass was full. During the planning process and the wedding itself, all the staff at McCall's did everything to make sure that our day was special and they succeeded. I would definitely recommend them!

We used McCalls to cater our wedding at the Legion of Honor and I am so thrilled we did. We had a difficult time deciding between McCalls and a more pricey and highly recommended caterer. I can't tell you how happy I am we went with McCalls. Our 150 guests loved the food, so much so they still rave about it and want to know what event we will have next so they can cater. They are extremely responsive and take care of you. I worked with Hannah for catering and Miguel for flowers and both exceeded my expectations. The flowers were beyond beautiful and incorporated not only my ideas but my husband and mother's as well (which is no easy feat). They made the bar easy and let us bring our own wine. They even stored it for us in the months before. We had someone waiting on us all the time (you get to eat!) and our guests could not be more happy with the service. We had a unique situation where the fire alarm went off during the wedding, but they handled it great when we had to evacuate the building they stayed longer than contracted and made sure the guests were taken care of. Love you all!

I was at Oracle Appreciation Concert last night. MacCalls catered the event. Even though there were over 20,000 people in attendance, the food flow and the bar service were smooth and really well done. As a caterer myself, I know how hard it is to maintain such quality with so many guests, yet they succeeded. It was my second time at this event and I tip my hat to them.

McCall's recently did our wedding at the Flood Mansion in SF, and they were unbelievable!! The food was amazing, and the service was fantastic. We had about 140 guests, and people loved the whole experience! I've never had such good food at a big event. McCall's helped to make the whole event completely perfect! McCalls has planned and catered our annual alumni gala for years and years in various locations around San Francisco. They are truly the best company to work with, hands down. Everyone from the management team and planners to the servers, bartenders and bussers are incredibly professional, helpful and just really know their stuff. Their creativity in designing a party's decor, lighting, flowers, and party layout are jaw-dropping gorgeous and make for unforgettable evenings. Working with McCalls (specifically Lee Gregory) is a wonderful experience as they are always friendly, team players and exceed expectations across the board. We recommend the lamb chops!

Great company, horrible customer service. Called to ask for some ideas on catering, lady on the phone was really rude. You don't know who you are going to be talking to over the phone, so she shouldn't have gone assuming things.

This was one of the best catering experiences I've had. The food was decent for catering food and the service was exceptional. I am a stickler for service and this was one of the best service experiences I've had in SF. I believe they catered the hors douvres at the event. If they did the lamb chops are freaking ridicilously good. Last year I literlally ate an entire baby lamb. I ownded him/her. I ate so much it was coming out of my pores. The lamb is always better than the main course served.

Hannah and her team did an amazing job for our wedding at the Legion of Honor! I was not the easy bride who knew exactly what she wanted and Hannah was patient and made me feel at ease. I felt like I had a fairy god-planner to help me along the way. The service, food, decor were impeccable and people are still raving about the results! I cannot express enough my gratitude for the McCalls Team and their grand production!

I had the absolute pleasure to work with Kirsty Gumina from McCalls Catering & Events on my company's 950 person Users Meeting reception and could not have asked for a better partner to do so. Our organization hired McCall's to cater an event /celebration at City Hall last year. I thought the food was good. They decorated the place beautifully with flowers (big floral arrangements) and had food stations placed in various locations. There was a chocolate fountain, Italian, sushi, meatballs, soda/bar area and cheeses, etc. It's not an inexpensive venture but they do a good job because that's what you pay them to do. The feedback we received from attendees were all positive, everyone thought it was all well done.

All it took was looking at their website to know that McCalls was going to be top notch. Cyrus was the perfect person to partner with on our 1,000 person event at Exploratorium. He went above and beyond to meet our budget needs and blow my mind with the entire event experience. A week later I am still being stopped in the halls with people raving about the food, especially the Mini Donuts. Cyrus was able to incorporate all the personal touches I like to add to the events that I plan. I am excited to know that the next time I have to plan something in the San Francisco area, I will not have anything to worry about... I will just call McCalls and know it will be another 5 star party.

OMG I love McCalls!!! They catered our wedding and provided décor etc. Amazing job!!! Food was great; everything was prepared with amazing fresh ingredients and presentation was amazing! Everyone ranted and raved about everything they had done for us. The staff were soo attentive, they know what you want before you do! Anna is a doll to work with and made everything so simple on the day of. Everything ran smooth. I cannot rave enough about this company. If anyone wants to see photo's or references, let me know!

McCall's catered our recent wedding and they did such a fabulous job, I simply can't say enough good things about them and have already referred multiple people to them. They were the best price per plate (and the BEST bar prices) that we found after shopping around lots in SF and they use some local, organic ingredients. They were also very flexible with pricing on alcohol, which was important to use because our cousin is a winemaker and we wanted to bring our own. Hannah Tiblier-Weiss was our contact there and she is literally one of the most responsive people I have ever met. She returns emails within seconds (and believe me, I sent her PLENTY) and phone calls very quickly as well. She is genuine, positive, and it basically felt like I was planning my wedding with one of my girlfriends...she is SO AWESOME! Hannah basically worked with us on our catering order to make sure it was exactly what we wanted, coached us through the whole process of what it's like to have a wedding at the de Young museum, including all the small details we need to think about, and just kept us organized and calm during all of the planning (and the day of!). Once we selected our menu (YES, a company that let's you choose your menu, not one set template that you have to use like a lot of the hotels we looked at as potential reception locations) she arranged the most fabulous tasting for us in their office. We tasted multiple appetizers, starters, salads, main courses, wine and cake. EVERYTHING was fabulous and we felt so spoiled and well taken care of. They even have an in-house florist, Miguel Torres, that made the most gorgeous table arrangements and bouquets for us. He was very easy to work with, responsive, sent us photos of his vision for the flowers beforehand so we knew what to expect, and was punctual the day of. The day of the wedding I had a friend tell me the flowers arrangements looked like something out of a style/wedding magazine. Hannah really went above and beyond to make sure every small detail was perfect. Wedding guests raved about the food and the friendly staff, and the quick bartender. If you choose McCall's for your wedding you will be so well taken care of and pleased with the results.

I went to a Vera Wang fashion show at the Bentley Reserve last night and McCall did their catering and it was fantastic. There were several hundred people there and the food was plentiful being passed around. And there was a huge variety and all being very well presented and delicious. The highlights were: sliced lamb over puff pastry of some sort, mini sliders - they were done med-rare in the center, mozzarella skewers. If you are looking to cater an event go meet them, I was impressed!

Anna Anna Anna Anna. We cannot thank you enough for the AMAZING event you put together for our wedding. We could not have imagined the professionalism, organization and making it a worry free day and cannot thank you enough. We have had so many people tell us this is the best food at a wedding they have ever had. I didn't call it "wedding food" on purpose. The staff was amazing and we were never without glasses of champ and our guests were all well taken care of.

I worked with McCall 's Catering & Events many years ago and had the pleasure of doing so again this past year, when I hired them to cater a very high end event in Silicon Valley for top financial portoflio performers. Sergio led his very professional team seamlessly throughout set- up ,food preparation (DELICIOUS), wine tasting, dessert and break down. The service staff was flexible and extremely professional and worked very well with our singing performers and improvisational acts. The best company to hire for any large event! You can let them do what they do best, and focus on your guests!

We used McCalls to cater our wedding at the de Young Museum! If you are looking for an event coordinator, Hannah is the one you are looking for! She was extremely patient with us in the pre-planning process and handled all the hiccups that happen on the day of expertly and gracefully! Couldn't ask for a better person for the job! Hannah was so great to work with for the past year, she and the team at McCalls made our big day simply wonderful and stress-free. Hannah was very patient, answered all of our questions (sometimes asked twice, sry hannah!), extremely responsive with great attention to detail. Everything a bride and a groom to be could ask for and more! I don't know how she handles all the catering details (and put up with brides) with such ease! The food was great, services was pleasant, no complaints! Miguel, McCall's in-house florist, handled the flowers. We had some minor hiccups with samples, but after a few phone calls talking through what I envisioned, Miguel and her team put together beautiful center pieces and delivered personal flowers on time. Thank you Hannah, Miguel and McCalls for making our dream wedding come true!

Get the mushroom soup! You would not believe that mushroom soup could be memorable, but we have had so many compliments on the "amazing" soup that we served as part of a first course trio... McCall's catered our wedding and handled all the details seamlessly on the day of the event. We were able to set up late evening appointments after work to go over details; I think one started at 8 PM. At the tasting, only one thing went wrong - they prepared halibut instead of salmon, and in the end, the fish ended up being the least favorite of the three entrees we served. However, the filet got rave reviews and my new husband, who is not vegetarian, ordered their vegetarian entree because it was that good! (For these prices, it had better be!) McCall's floral department did an even more amazing job - I'll be reviewing them next.

My wedding was two weekends ago and people are still talking about the duck pillows and the food presentation. I had the joy of tasting the food months earlier during our tasting, but on our wedding day, I could barely eat due to the tightness of my wedding dress and constant moving around. I did take few bites of our beef and sips of mini-milkshakes and they were what I remembered! The presentation of the whole evening was an exact copy of another wedding I had seen McCalls do at the Asian Art Museum and it was exactly what I had imagined and wanted. It's hard to go into a space like the Asian Art Museum during the day and see what it will look like at night with the lighting and drapes and florals (done by Miguel), but when I showed up that night for my wedding, I thought "Wow this is exactly what I had imagined." Anna from McCalls led this charge and I could not be more grateful or indebted to someone for helping execute my dreams as close to my budget as she did. One of my friends said to me "It's like I walked onto a movie set that is capturing your imagination" I nodded and smiled, but knew that without such great help from Anna, Miguel, Robin (Make It Happen!), Lorraine/Minda (AAM) and their teams, it would not have looked as beautifully or gone as seamlessly as it did. We had what I imagined was a tight turn around, but McCalls said that they were used to doing it all the time. We couldn't enter the venue until 5:15p, and guests were arriving at 6:30p and then there was only an hour to turn around the room during cocktail hour, and they did it and were ahead of schedule. It was miraculous, but more impressive was how beautifully Samsung Hall looked. I live in Los Angeles so most of the planning was done through emails and around 3 phone calls altogether in the course of 8 months and it turned out exactly what I thought it would look like. Without question, the entire staff the people assigned to helping us throughout the evening were the nicest people I've ever met. No one was ever left without a drink in hand or without being tended to, it was really an experience of a lifetime for my family (they are used to Chinese Banquet Weddings). We had asian fusion, with a bao/dim sum station along with other chinese/asian themed foods during cocktail hour, and then for dinner we had Asian Braised Beef with veggies and Mushroom Risotto for the vegetarians. For dessert we had 3 different types of wedding cakes along with a luxurious dessert bar that did not disappoint the sweets lovers in the house. My main concern to Anna was that people would be hungry and she assured me everyone would have more than enough to eat, and people did! I would hire McCalls again to serve all my meals if I could! They had amazing food and were just plain amazing. There's a reason they have been doing this for over 20 years, they know what they are doing! They will work with your budget and get it right, don't be afraid to ask or use them!

My place of business uses McCalls for all of our big-event catering needs, including openings of major department stores and galas at which the Divine Miss M. entertains. Their service is perfectly professional, their presentation, from the flooring to the lighting, is paradigmatic, and their pabulum is palate-pleasing (from what I've been told--second-string help such as myself aren't allowed to sample the vittles).

We worked with Anna at McCall's for our wedding at the Legion of Honor. The food was out of this world -- well above and beyond what one would expect from a caterer. We had so many compliments on our hors d'oeuvres, trio of appetizers, entree (beef two ways), and watermelon agua fresca. Anna is lovely - she handled all of our requests and anxieties graciously and competently. The whole evening ran very smoothly -- everything was perfectly presented in the right place at the right time. And one of the best features of McCall's had to be our personal butler, who catered to us all night. Indulgent, yes. Awesome, absolutely.

McCalls did our catering for our wedding at the Legion of Honor and what can I say, AMAZING! I am still getting compliments on the food. Each course was wonderful, the staff was so friendly (Hannah is amazing as well), and the dessert buffet we had just blew me away. I would not change a thing about my experience with them.

Our evening was perfect because of McCall's. From the planning stages to the actual event Anna Williams and crew took care of everything. Anna also got us out of a jam when the hem of one of our bridesmaid and the button of our best man came undone. Before we even flinched to look for someone to help she had already found some thread and sewed them up for us! McCall's is very detailed and always on their toes. If you want a sure fire and worry free event, I highly recommend them.

We used McCalls for our wedding on May 1. I worked with Hannah as the coordinator, she was awesome. She was professional, responsive, transparent and flexible. What more could one want? After we talked to almost all the approved vendors in every price range McCalls stood out by being flexible, organized and just plain fun to work with. Our food was delicious, they prepared a special vegetarian option for us and served the food family style with no objections or fuss like some other caterers. I would def go back to them and Hannah for any future catering needs. My only suggestion is not to skimp on wait staff especially when on a schedule, I would have added more folks to make the dinner move along more. Miguel from McCalls did our flowers and EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS by FAR. He is talented, gets it right away and provided us with the most beautiful assortment that people continue to gush about. Miguel worked and tweaked the budget for us several times and I could not have imagined a more beautiful or abundant floral assortment than what we got. Not to mention my bouquet was to die for. I would recommend folks skip all the back and forth with caterers and just sign up with McCalls for your SF /bay area wedding or event.
