We went for lunch on a Monday afternoon. It's definitely worth a visit. I got the Thai chicken pizza, and it was phenomenal! The flavors and crust were perfect. My guests got the buttermilk chicken salad and a cheeseburger. Everything tasted great. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be going back to try other items in addition to my Thai chicken pizza.

Went with a group of 6 around 430 on a Friday. The bar was nearly empty and there were a few tables outside. The wait staff was great. Happy hour specials were awesome. Drinks were good. The tortilla soup was good but a but spicy for my friends liking. The bacon brussel sprouts were liked by most. The pizza were big and good. The best thing by far was the Dive bar burger! Do not change anything on the burger if ordering, it is perfection. One of the best burgers I have had in my life 10/10. Great experience. Highly recommended.

We ordered takeout & our food was delicious. So we decided to dine in, however we were seated and forgotten about it felt like. Probably 15 mins before we got a server. But when we were helped our server was very friendly, funny, and helpful. He did forget the side asparagus though. The food did not disappoint! I love the Buffalo chicken Mac & cheese :)

Google
Food was excellent. Servings were large. A good craft beer selection. Wine selection was also good. There's a kids menu, so this is a family friendly place, but also upscale enough for an adults only dinner. I felt prices were moderately higher than average (perhaps a buck of two for each item), but the quality of food was high. Service was friendly but not quite as attentive as we would have liked. Server also rejected what I thought was a reasonable request to split two kids' desserts (instead saying they would come out as-is and we would need to split them). Place would be a 5 star with minor tweaks to improve service and perhaps reduce menu prices by a buck per item.

Google
Service was friendly. We had Thai Pizza which was decent but seemed to lack the punch that a Thai Pizza should have. The lobster Mac was really good and worth trying once. Beer selection won't leave you frustrated. And the ambiance had a warm small town feel to it.

Google
Very average very bland fare. Service was meh. The pacing was awful, too. We sat outside, which was dumb and we were given the option to sit indoors. We had to switch to indoor or we'd be sweating into our food. This does not in any way impact the rating or review. That was our mistake and the staff was super accomodating getting us switched to an indoor table. Our experience starts out shortly after being sat the waiter got our drink order. It took him awhile to bring drinks out and then wanted to take the entire order all at once. This is a red flag for pacing, imo. Our appetizers came out fresh and hot. The 3 pretzels were standard pub breadstick shaped pretzels. The beer mustard was very mild, but also not very special and the cheese sauce was a standard cheddar sauce. The fried zucchini was also very fresh and hot. The drizzled honey was a nice touch, but made the coating stick to things and slide right off the zucchini. The dipping sauce was also a good touch, but I couldn't tell you what it was. This was easily the best thing we ordered, unfortunately. As stated, the pacing was awful. We were halfway through eating our apps when our entrees came out. My Gf had a ceasar salad and I had the smokehouse sandwich. My GF said her salad was flavorless and any type of seasoning would be more than welcome. My sandwich included special beer battered fries. It would absolutely shock me if those fries are not standard run of the mill frozen fries. Reminded me heavily of ore ida freezer aisle nonsense. The smokehouse sandwich was, you guessed it, kinda bland. With all the ingredients this could have been a homerun, but it was kinda depressing. The onions were tough(?), kinda hard to bite through. The brisket was there, but you'd never know. The sandwich eats like a slighty above average ham and cheese sandwich with a very famous and smokey tasting bbq sauce on it. The meal as a whole was not great. Major overhauls would be needed to bring me back.

Google
Wonderful dinner at McCoy’s last night. Our server Joy was a delight and was fast and helpful. I had the Lucky Old Fashioned for my cocktail, it was one of the best I’ve had. I had the chicken pot pie for dinner, the gravy was a bit runny and lacked a bit of flavor. However the crust was fantastic. My wife had the salmon, it was flavorful but a bit dry. We finished our meal with Sabastian Joe’s Ice cream! Overall good experience, we’d definitely go back.

Google
They require masks to go inside, I think that is a State of Minnesota requirement, and not a problem for me. I arrived 40 minutes before close and was told I could not get a seat because they were closing soon. I inquired if I could order to-go and was told by another hostess that I could sit if I eat quick. I sat outside. The French Onion Soup was very tasty, best I've had, it was $7 and worth it. Apparently their burgers are a signature item on the menu but mine was overcooked and dry. I had the Real McCoy for $13. I asked for No tomatoes or onions, I got them anyway. Service was okay.

Deb H.

Yelp
We stopped in here because Pannekoeken Huis had closed and we were hungry. Sat at the bar and ordered food. Hubby had fish & chips that were really good. Didn't care for the coleslaw - too vinegary. I had a pepperoni pizza that was bigger than I expected and crust was a little overdone but still very tasty. Looks like a fun place and has patio seating for warm weather.

Yelp
As many of us understand now McCoy's will be gone soon, but maybe not soon enough. My last double order of chicken strips may have been the worst take out food I've ever had. The strips were fried until they had the texture and consistency of beef jerky, and whoever took the order decided I didn't want any fries at all. As an Added insult, the extra sauce I requested was absent. Showing up a little after the order should have been ready, I continued to wait nearly 20 minutes anyway. The whole experience was negative and I resent the fact that I actually paid them for the experience. When a business tells you this clearly what they think of you it's time for them to go.

Yelp
This has been one of my go-to local restaurants, but something has changed. I was here on a Saturday with grandsons as a weekend treat for them. Normally we sit outside on their awesome patio seating, but none of the umbrellas were up and we didn't want to sit in the blazing sun. The window bar seating still gave us a great view, though. I was a little put off by the wrinkled photo-copied menus with grease stains. (Really?) What happened to the laminated menus? Oh wait ... I see some of the offerings changed. I do appreciate that McCoy's has unique menu items that vary from time to time, but the walleye fingers and smokehouse burger disappeared. :-( Another thing that changed was the best-ever battered french fries. Now they're just ho-hum french fries. Sigh. All three of us had burgers (two $16 dive bar burgers and a $15 McCoy's burger). The menu said burgers come medium-well, and I confirmed that they wouldn't be pink. But mine was more like medium-rare. Good cole slaw with homemade-tasting dressing. Maybe it's time to find a new burger place and just hit up McCoy's for their happy hour specials. I do appreciate having a 20 year, family-owned restaurant in the neighborhood.

Yelp
McCoy's has been a place I've counted on in the neighborhood for a quick bite at the bar in the winter and patio time in the summer. I was disappointed with the food this weekend when we stopped in for lunch. Service was slow and our server seemed disinterested. Two of us ordered cheese curds, fish and chips, and a side of grilled asparagus. Everything was brought to the table at the same time. About half of the cheese curds were empty with breading and no cheese, the fish was barely warm, the fries were grossly over salted, and the asparagus (at a cost of $8) was cold, overcooked to mushy, and charred until the top half of the stalks were literally black. Hoping it was just bad luck this time. I'll definitely still come here for a beer or drink.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I expected more on St.Patrick's Day from this place. I called the day ahead and inquired if they would be offering a traditional corned beef and cabbage and the answer was "yes" I said "great" and asked if I should make a reservation for lunch and the person on the line said "we are not excepting any more reservations." So.. I went on line and made an open table reservation. Hum? Nice atmosphere with Irish music playing, March madness basket ball games on tv's... service was lackluster as we had to pull everything out of our server as to what the three Irish specials were and that they did have green beer. The corned beef special we did order had good overall flavor if you could overlook that the beef was not cut against the grain and was laced with fat. Pretty disappointing lunch and never saw anyone who resembled a manager checking on tables.

Yelp
Our neighbor to neighborhood go to place We hang out there quite a bit and crowd is very friendly and talkative

Yelp
Love the smoke house sandwich. Always delicious every time! I have recently relocated to Seattle and miss McCoys terribly.

Maddy G.

Yelp
We love McCoys! They always seem to have space on their patio. I love their cocktails and pizzas. Would also highly recommend their Caesar salad and sangria. If you're feeling like sitting inside, they have a long bar and plenty of tvs to watch the game.

Yelp
OVERALL: Oh McCoy's, you will forever be a happy hour spot and nothing more than that. That's why it's 2 stars instead of just 1. FOOD: I've been to McCoy's plenty of times for happy hour, getting the wings, pizza, etc. very typical bar food & drinks. All were very very good but this time around we went for dinner and that might've been the first mistake. We ordered off the dinner menu and tried different things, and each of them had a miss in their own ways. The walleye fingers were incredibly bland. Same with the pot pie. I was so excited to have a "homemade" pot pie and the crust was good, but the inside was horrible. I am usually not super picky, but this was as bland as warm dish water. No exaggeration. The burger was fine, and the wings are our only saving grace. For the potato skins, they were really lacking in any sort of topping or stuffing. It was okay. With the portion of 4 though, extremely disappointed. SERVICE: Our server Rebecca (Becky) was negligent. No other way to put it. We were seated and our server didn't stop by for over 10 minutes. She never stopped by our table during the meal, and we were constantly looking for her, or having to waive her down. After having our food for over 15 minutes she still didn't stop by, so it wasn't worth sending back our bland food. We constantly had to ask for waters as she kept forgetting to refill us. We waited over 20 minutes for our check when we asked as we were exhausted and ready to go. This was so lackluster and so disappointing. If the restaurant was busy I'd understand, but there was no one else. PRICE: Now, here's where I'm the most frustrated. The meal was over $100 for a disappointing meal. The walleye fingers were $15, the potato skins were $13 (for a portion of 4 barely filled halves...yikes!) and each of the entrees with $17+. This pricing is ridiculously high for low quality bar food.

Yelp
Located in a nice neighborhood, walking distance from where my brother lives and we came here for lunch on a Sunday during football season. It wasn't too busy but we were in a hurry to catch a flight. We were sat pretty quickly but from being from California we asked if we could change channels to watch non local games but they didn't have it. We ordered loaded potato skins, Mac and cheese, a margherita pizza, Korean bulgogi bowl, and a burger with sweet potato fries. The food came out pretty quickly and service was really friendly and fairly priced. We got to take home our leftovers. It was a large space and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. When we walked past it on a Friday night there were tons of people outside and even a live band. Would recommend if you're in the area if you're looking for your basic bar foods and drinks.

Yelp
I wish i would provided updated reviews since the one back in 2015. We had many very good experiences here that i would give a solid 4 stars for. It's been several years, however, since we've been here and thought we'd try it again. Boy have things changed (from our good experiences). Mind you, a pandemic, inflation and I'm sure staffing issues have happened since. A full restaurant on a Saturday night has been replaced with us being the only people in the dining room while lights are turned off in parts of it and a few people in the bar area. Real menus replaced with paper menus wrinkled from liquids on the table and see through from grease that's soaked into them. The tap list on the back didn't seem to be updated today as we have a few beers we ordered that were "out." We ordered the pretzels that we had raved about in the past. It was normally served on a wooden board, with a nice presentation of apples, a crock of cheese and a cup of really good mustard. The portion for the cheese was significantly smaller and just showed up on a plain white plate. The pretzels were good but not as visually appealing as they used to be and a higher price for smaller portions. The theme of 2023. We also got the yucca fries with a jalapeno aioli and chimichurri. Again, no presentation but they were good. Aioli was good but the chimichurri was just liquid. Didn't taste like anything so didn't add anything. We always loved the cheeseburgers with the merks cheddar so we ordered one each. We used to get with tatortots. Andy (our favorite server from years ago) would make that happen for an upcharge even through it wasn't listed. They aren't offered on the menu any longer so were told we couldn't get those. Basic fries for us then. The burgers used to come out with lettuce, tomato and onion and sometimes we added bacon. I don't think bacon is worth the $3 upcharge but weren't asked if we wanted to add it anyways so no loss. The burgers arrived on basic white plates you would have found at Old Country Buffet. No lettuce, tomatoes or onion. Just a little ketchup. The burgers were fine. The fries were fine (standard frozen and fried French fries). The service was fine. If you want to go to a place where the menu isn't risky, accept "fine" for the categories I listed then you won't be let down. But, you won't be wowed. This restaurant is definitely suffering in the post-covid world and based on their cost cutting while adding a 5% "health and wellness" fee, I suspect this won't be open all that much longer. Sad to see and hope Andy is doing well!

Yelp
My friend and I stopped in on Friday night to have dinner. We got a table on the patio. The service was good, but the price you pay for the food you get was honestly pretty ridiculous We ordered the hummus plate as an appetizer to share and it came with lots of things to dip in the hummus - pita bread, veggies, pita chips, but it didn't come with that much hummus. I did like how they had a layer of tzatziki sauce on the hummus. We asked for some more hummus as we had a lot of veggies and pita bread and chips still left, and when we got the bill, they charged us $10 for the additional hummus. That's almost as much as a whole new hummus plate without all the stuff for dipping as it's $12 for the hummus plate. We decided to ask the server about it when we went to pay, and she said that they made an error, and they would correct it. She came back and I saw they only took $2 off the bill, so we still paid $8 for the hummus. I feel like they were just making up the price for the additional cost of things. Also, I got the salad with apples and bleu cheese and it was pretty small for the price for it. It had a ton of apple shreds on it and barely any mixed greens, so I asked for more mixed greens and dressing and she brought that to me. The charge for that was $2 extra which I can live with but the salad should have already come with enough lettuce on it for the price of $15. My friend got the Thai coconut curry bowl without the chicken. It looked tasty but again not a lot of food for $18. We split the bill down the middle and it was $34 a piece...before tip. We didn't have drinks and just drank water. The cost we paid for the food we actually got didn't match up. Sadly, it's way overpriced here.

David P.

Yelp
$15 burger, $1 mushroom $1 upgrade to sweet potato fries, and $7 for 50c of Kraft Mac and cheese. Slow service.... Sad. This place used to be really good.

O.T. V.

Yelp
Had diner there on Saturday June 9. Had a nice outdoor table and our server Javier was excellent. The food at McCoy's is not bad but nothing special either. If you live in the neighborhood, as we do, it is a nice place to stop. But it would not be worth a drive. We had an interesting Brussels sprout appetizer, and then a chicken sandwich and a "Thai" chicken bowl. One thing that cost them one star: at the end they sneak in an extra 5% charge for "mental wellness" . These charges appeared at many places as a temporary expedient at pandemic time, for perhaps understandable reasons: we were all stressed. But it is high time for McCoys to be rid of them as other places have: just honestly add one dollar to each $20.00 menu item

Jackie G.

Yelp
Visited McCoys for dinner and felt overall, the experience was pretty average. The menu itself was pretty divers form offering asian to pizza, which is nice if you are in a larger group to have those options. I ordered the ahi tuna bowl. It was okay - wasn't the best I ever had but wasn't bad by any means either. It did have a good amount of tuna, but with the shape of the bowl and how they layered the food, it was pretty difficult to mix everything together. I honestly realized halfway through that there were noodles at the bottom which didn't get a lot of sauce since that was only put on the tuna itself. The place itself felt like a normal restaurant/bar - nothing really to make it special or rememberable. I would not come out of my way to come back here.

Yelp
I was looking for an Irish Bar for St. Paddy's with a few friends and decided to check out your instagram to see what was happening. Lol Absolutely nothing! Your instagram is terrible!! A bunch of dumb pics of a leprechaun and even worse... children. That's what customers want on St.Paddy's Day. A bar full of kids.... Dodged a bullet avoiding that scene.

Mikhala F.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by McCoy's! Potent Appletini, delicious food, and a happy hour I can get behind. We took advantage of the happy hour and got a bucket of sweet potato fries that was truly a bucket full! The fries were crazy delicious. I got the Korean BBQ bowl and was in heaven--so delicious! A bit steep, but so so good. McCoys is a cozy atmosphere that was decorated fun for Halloween. Our server was attentive and quirky, and we really enjoyed our meal here.

Sam T.

Yelp
Came for an evening dinner with my friends and had the bacon blue burger. Very tasty, crunchy fries, and a tall Samuel Adam's Oktoberfest. The area is amazing for a relaxing evening hang out. Not super loud, attentive and very kind servers, and good quality food for a pub.

Laura H.

Yelp
The last time I was here, I had the roast beef sandwich. The meat was a bit tasteless. The aioli saved it, however. I had ice cream for dessert and I found the portion to be ridiculously small. Delicious but tiny.

Jessica K.

Yelp
This experience left a lot to be desired. We were happy we were able to get a reservation last minute and were seated promptly. They have a digital menu which I appreciate in covid times (or just in a general times in reality). However the service was very delayed. The server was frequently absent and we felt a little neglected as it took over 10 minutes to get water and our drinks often took 20 minutes to arrive. The first drink we ordered was a cider drink and it was pretty disappointing. We ordered old fashioned and they were also quite bad as well. We had ordered a thai pizza and the pizza did not match the description. We were so excited and it tasted like a cheese pizza with lettuce on top. We both walked out quite disappointed in our experience.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Same tap beers are $ 1 to 1.50 more than other bars/restaurants throughout the city. The food was a "meh" at best. The chicken tenders were just doused in franks hot sauce, no flavor other than what you can do at home with Tyson frozen chicken. The cubano sandwich was bland and without taste or imagination. The service was slow to minimal and with a 5% health and wellness surcharge, it's a definite " not a chance I'll be back . No need to pay 70.00 for overpriced mediocrity.

Mark-Julie M.

Yelp
Disorganized. Took a long time to get our order. They add on the tip and another charge. Customer does not have choice. Definitely would not recommend.

Mo S.

Yelp
I picked up these delicious Dry Rubbed Wings from @mccoysmn this past weekend! Known for their selection of comfort food, craft beer, specialty cocktails, and great wine, the wings pair perfect with any dish on the menu. The Wings were crispy and flavorful!

Katherine R.

Yelp
Won't be back, ever. Food was mediocre, service was absolutely horrible. Place didn't have many people in it so not sure what the excuse was for poor service. Our server Becky was on her own schedule. Waited 10 min for drinks, I finally went to the bar to get drinks for our table. She finally arrived and didn't greet us but asked what drinks we had. She dropped off our food, we asked for hot sauce. Never got it. We were all finished, drinks empty and she checked on us. Asked for hot sauce and she was totally dumbfounded, she came back with it after we were done eating and blamed it on her coworker. If you eat there, may sure you get a different server!

Kelsey K.

Yelp
This was my first time coming here after a friend recommended it. McCoys is right off excelsior and there's parking right in front. There is a parking garage near by as well because parking can be tight. The inside is cute and modern with a bar feel. They have a pretty good happy hour for food and drinks daily. We came here on St. Patty's day and it wasn't too busy. There were actually a lot of kids, not sure if it was because of Sunday? They had St. Patty's day themed drinks making it a little more fun I had to dock some stars off because I was pretty disappointed in the food, especially because they are a little overpriced. I ordered the $32 8oz filet, medium rare. There wasn't a wince of pink in it when I got it. It was drizzled in gravy which just made it even less desirable. The Thai wings were pretty good, it was a dry rub. The deviled eggs were different then what I've tasted before. They had salmon on them, which was kind of cool. I prefer more of a sweeter taste than bitter though, but not bad. For the price, I had higher expectations and it was just mediocre. Service was friendly and the happy hour is worth checking out.

Heather K.

Yelp
There was a sticker left on my lemon, which makes me think they're not even rinsed. The salmon was cooked well but salty.

Matt R.

Yelp
I swung by on a Tuesday night to McCoy's Public house. We should up right in the middle of happy hour and were asked if we wanted a table or open seating in the bar area. Happy hour is served throughout the restaurant so we opted for a table on the quieter side. We were sat right away and our server was very prompt to get our drink orders. I opted to try the pint of manager's choice beer (tonight was Utipils Kfan) which I was a definite fan. I liked the idea of a $4 beer on the menu that changes with the manager choice. It was a welcome change from your normal happy hour beer choice. My wife tried the house wine which she stated was good as well. Here comes our appetizer! This trip we tried the beer pretzels. The dish came with 3 pretzels, apples, beer cheese, and mustard. The pretzels were soft and just the right amount of salt. I just wished we had more for $7. For dinner I tried the Beef on Weck. On their menu they describe this as slow roasted beef, horseradish mayo, caramelized onion, mushrooms, swiss cheese, salted caraway bun, with au jus on the side to dip it. For me this sounded like a fancy French Dip and so I was sold. As the dish came out the sandwich was decently sized and super delicious. I had to just stop long enough to snap a couple pictures. The meat was super juicy and everything worked so well together. My wife tried the Grilled Salmon burger and she enjoyed it. The salmon was cooked well and not overcooked which is sometimes very easy to do. The portion was perfect for her. Both dishes came with beer battered fries. They definitely added a nice crunch to both our meals. DELICIOUS!! Finally, we decided to get dessert. We went with their creme brûlée. Now the dish itself was definitely delicious but for $6 it was a rather small dessert. Overall, give McCoy's a shot. Unlike others here on yelp our service was amazing. He was attentive and was quick to bring whatever we ordered. The food all tasted fresh and very flavorful.

Yelp
Came here for my birthday dinner. Have been here a few times. My most recent time was not so great. First, it was my birthday. I had been sick that week and was unable to party like a rockstar. I ordered steak from a non steakhouse, first mistake. I ordered my steak medium rare, second mistake. The steak was cooked to well done. I told the waitress that it was over cooked and she said that's how I had ordered it. In what world? Where and when would I ever? I asked if it could be remade and she said that was not an option unless I wanted to pay for another steak. Ugh, whatever. Didn't care to argue. The steak was dry and flavorless. I asked the waitress for some steak sauce and she said they didn't have any. Great. Then about 15 minutes later she pops up with a bottle of A1. Apparently she ran next door to Walgreens to get some. Quick shoutout to her for that. I wasn't impressed and will not go here again.

Debra M.

Yelp
My brothers and I used to come here for lunch regularly about 15 years ago, so when my son and I stopped in for dinner tonight I had high expectations. I was not disappointed. The house-made chipotle ketchup I loved is now bottled and on the table, along with a cola-bbq ketchup! Both are delicious It was a nice, cool evening and the patio dining was busy. We sat in a comfy leather booth in the dining area, which was also pleasantly busy. I had my old standby, the Bacon Bleu Burger, a gorgeously thick medium-rare juicy burger topped with bacon, carmelized onions, fontina and bleu cheeses on a toasted brioche bun. It was served with "a handful of fries," skinny cut, crispy and delicious, especially dipped in that chipotle ketchup! My son had the Buffalo Wings, which he pronounced fine, and the Lawsuit Sliders. This is honestly one of the more hilarious names I've ever seen. They're called that because the description is "two all-Beef sliders, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a non-sesame seed bun!" Yep, it's *almost the description of a Big Mac; thus the "Lawsuit." I loved it. I'm a lawyer, I have a weird sense of humor. Sue me. ;) The food was delicious, HOT, and promptly served. Our server was very attentive but not intrusive. I've missed this place, I'll have to go more often.

Susan Y.

Yelp
Came here for an event so I can't speak for a normal dining experience as we were sitting in the event room. But I did notice the cool vintage decor they had as I walked past the bar/dining area. Great alcohol selections overall. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Ordered the margarita pizza and the sauce was a bit bland for my taste. Hunter's Chicken comes with a creamy mushroom sauce that goes very well with the juicy chicken. Great flavor! The creme brûlée was so fantastic. Love they add strawberries balance out the sweetness. Parking was easy - either park outside or they do have covered parking across the street. Would come back to try other dishes next time if I'm in the area!

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Parking isn't exactly the easiest being that you are competing against local businesses and the nearby apartments. The restaurant its self at first glance seems like an Irish pub because of the name but is definitely more of a casual American bar. We were seated shortly after arrival on a Thursday night. Unfortunately our booth was soaking wet and I sat in sanitizer since they wipe not only the table but the seat after guests leave. The menu is a little overwhelming so we opted for shrimp tacos and chicken wings. I thought the shrimp tacos were delicious however next time I would probably order something spicy on the side as the amount of acid on the plate is overwhelming. The wings tasted like they might be double fried because they were crispy skin and relatively juicy on the inside. I also thought the serving was proportionate. But again we got giant stocks of celery so I would probably cut those down for a future note to the kitchen. Overall the service and the food was tasteful but not fantastic.

Norm S.

Yelp
The service was very good however the food was quite ordinary. We had a hamburger which was over cooked and pretty tasteless, chicken tortilla soup, which was spicy but good. and the salmon which was average. The good, fairly quiet on a Thursday night so easy to get in and out quickly if that's what you're looking for.

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Food is pretty good, decently priced. They don't have too many options but do have a few daily options that change. Overall was pretty good. The service was okay. Waitress was not attentive

Katie U.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about this place. I live fairly close and come here quite often because the service and food are consistently good. There is a huge bar area if you just want to walk in and grab a table or they offer more formal seating in the dining room. When the weather is nice the patio is always packed. The rotating tap beer list is definitely one of McCoy's top perks. I can always count on having a new craft beer here every time I come. As for the food, I think I've had one of everything on the menu and haven't encountered something I didn't like. The menu has such a variety of options guaranteed to please everyone in your party. The thai chicken pizza and McCoy's burger are definitely my two favorite menu items but the choices are endless. It's the perfect place for all occasions: weeknight dates, mid-day lunch, weekend dinner with friends, and even brunch.

Yelp
Service ALWAYS TOP NOTCH! especially during happy hour- tip your server well ( you'll know who they are), some not so caring of you having a great experience- that 1% , you know. I'm am ex server from days gone by. You work your tail to please, and get nothing..., then there's that sever who could "give" and ...., Food is okay, service and drinks I do love coming here once in a while-

Yelp
Typical chain-like sit-down restaurant located in the heart of St. Louis Park's Excelsior & Grand neighborhood, McCoy's Public House boasts a diverse menu and fun atmosphere. Staff is friendly and food is good, if not especially remarkable. Wide variety of beers and cocktails makes me think McCoy's is much more suited as a happy hour spot, rather than an actual restaurant. Prices are high, considering the quality of what you get. Typical food service fare here. Lots of street parking, but I recommend parking in one of the free garages nearby. This area is frequented by folks that are past their driving prime and if you want to save a trip to the body shop, always use the garage.

Yelp
Bottomless mimosas + burrata avocado toast. So delicious!!! Best avo toast I've ever had.

Yelp
Best thing on menu The Real MCCOY burger I've tried a couple things from this restaurant I don't care for the chicken tenders s completely over priced. I've order take out every time I've eaten this. Mccoys needs consistency in the kitchen I normally always order the same things it's different every time Sometimes no cheese Sometimes no pickles Sometimes a lot of fries Sometimes a little fries They are pretty hidden off the the main road

Yelp
Second trip in two weeks. First trip: waiter absolutely ignored us after bringing an appetizer until one of my companions stood up and gestured repeatedly to the host. Second trip: The waiter took a drinks and appetizer order, brought the drinks, then disappeared for 15 minutes. Had to send a bus-person to find him. After the appetizer arrived we told him we were ready to order. It took 20 minutes for him to get back to us to take the order, then another 45 minutes for the food to be delivered - with only one word from the waiter at the 35 minute mark that the food was "coming soon". My three companions found their food to be OK, but I'd ordered a medium-rare burger and it came medium well. I'd ordered brussel sprouts as a side and got french fries instead. Bottom line: huge decrease in quality since Covid came.

Yelp
Had a nice dinner here recently. To drink I had the house"stuffed Martini" with blue cheese olives. I asked for a side of olive juice and the server happily brought me some. For dinner I ordered the blue cheese burger(ok I'm seeing the theme). I asked for it to be cooked Medium and it was cooked perfectly. I did substitute the regular fries for sweet potato fries. This is where they lose a star... They were quite soft and not crispy at all. Other than that the house salad looked great, and the veggie burger was really good as well. I'll be back.

Yelp
Our group of 14 was seated in the back room of this St Louis Park establishment away from the main bar action which was ok in this case since this was a mini reunion. It was easier to talk without the typical restaurant noise. The wait staff did a fine job corralling our group and getting out the food and drinks in a timely manner. The apps were good especially the pretzels. I know my steak house ( or was it called the smokehouse) sandwich with beef brisket and ham was excellent. The meat was tasty and the roll was soft and fresh. I know that others who had the short ribs were pleased with their meals. Not sure about all of the others but overall our experience was positive. Parking is free in the garage next door.

Yelp
McCoy's was a pleasant surprise in an area of the Twin Cities that we don't honestly often frequent. We visited at the request of a friend, and I have to say, we had a pretty good time. The restaurant is pretty traditional, with a nice long bar, dark wood fixtures, etc. It doesn't scream Irish pub, but there's just a hint of that (besides the name). The beer list is good. I was pleased to find a lot of good solid tap beer options (about two dozen) plus additional bottles and non-beer options. It seems they had a decent number of wines listed, but everyone knows I'm a beer snob, so I can't say much more than hey, they have wine, too. Food-wise, things were good but not perfect. Not excellent but a good tasty bite. We ordered the zucchini fries, which are battered zucchini fingers deep fried and served with some sort of creamy, mayo sauce. It was pretty good. The fries came from the kitchen piping hot and the zucchini was still a bit firm in the middle, not mushy. The one complaint was that they were extremely oily. I am pretty sure that the kitchen just dumped the lot into the basket without draining. For dinner, I ordered the Beef on Weck, which is a roast beef sandwich with onions, a horseradish aoli sauce and au jus. The sandwich was pretty good. The bun was nice and buttery and soaked up the au jus. The beef itself was tender and flavorful. The onions were properly caramelized. My only complaint was food temperature. I would say it was warm being generous. But I was hungry and it tasted good, so I ate it. I can only imagine how good it would have been if it had actually been hot. My husband got a big buttermilk chicken cobb salad which was very impressive and he reported to be very good. Our friend got the veggie burger, which he said was among the best veggie burgers he's had.The fries were an upcharge (Seriously?) but pretty yummy fries. There are happy hour specials as well that make the whole thing a bit more affordable. Dessert options were cool and fun, including Sabastian Joe's ice cream, creme brulee and cookies and milk. I tried to order the creme brulee, but our waitress told me that a large table had basically just bought them out of creme brulee. I switched to the cookies and milk then. The cookies were gooey but again, part of the cookie was warm and part was not. Seems like the kitchen may have temperature issues. They weren't really very busy... but the parts that were warm were very good. They reminded me very much of Nestle Tollhouse store cookies... they were very flat like Tollhouse cookies. And the milk for some reason really sealed the deal. It was absolutely frosty cold and washed down the cookies in a really satisfying way. We would definitely come back. We found the food to generally be better than most pub/bars, and the beer list was pretty good. Wish the service had been better and also that the temperature on the food had been consistent. But we didn't have any issues we felt were enough to keep us from returning someday if we are in the area.

Yelp
The food was great and was high quality. The burgers are amazing! You can get the burgers with beer battered French fries - so crsipy and delicious. They have a good beer selection with many local choices. The service was not great, but we weren't in a rush so it was not a problem for us. Overall, a great place to eat.

Yelp
We love McCoys! The food, drinks and service have always been great. It is a bit on the downside side considering it's an Irish bar, but overall it's a great neighborhood restaurant! We will be back... again!

Yelp
We went here with a party of 13. We had an amazing waitress who knew our names and kept up with our big party requests. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. This isn't a fancy restaurant, but it's certainly a great place to go for a fun night out with friends. I highly recommend the Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Sandwich!! It was so very yummy!

Yelp
I've been to McCoy's a couple of times now, and I'd say it's pretty consistently a good spot for a bite and a beer. They have a patio outside where you can munch with your pooch and the bar inside has 2 TVs if you're looking to watch a game. The service hasn't been anything spectacular - and has varied between good and less than friendly - I haven't been blown away in either direction. The beer selection is decent, and the drinks are poured nice and strong (but not too much so.) The food is a little more expensive than I think it's worth, but the pizza/flatbread is very good as well as the wings. I've gotten a side of cauliflower a couple times and it actually is hearty enough to serve as a main.

Yelp
Have you ever been to a place where there isn't a ton of people , the staff is very attentive, and the food and drinks are fabulous? Well go to McCoys during the week I. The early afternoon. Plenty of room Jake the bartender is fabulous the sliders and the Mac and cheese are reasonable and delicious the beer is cold and perfectly poured and the scenery is nice no matter if you like men OR women Have a great time!

Yelp
I must be a terrible dad because my wife brought me here on Father's Day. Service could've been better and food was abysmal. Only reason for 2 stars was because of the music playing.

Yelp
Great place to watch football on Sundays. Tons of Tv's and good happy hour prices. You could easily eat a whole meal off the Happy Hour menu. Their menu includes healthier options which is nice to see at a gastropub. It's a nice local spot. The food was good for a gastropub and I would go there again!

Yelp
This is a decent pub! It's spacious, has a few free and easy parking options, food is good, and it doesn't feel too divey, snooty, or chain-y. I've come here for a few drinks and apps. They have a late-night happy hour and damn good potato skins, so I was totally content. I've also been here to get their buffalo chicken finger dinner to-go, which I really liked. The "fingers" (when can we stop calling it that, though?) were huge, more like whole filets than skimpy tenders. The buffalo sauce was perfectly tangy too. I got a side of "cider slaw" but was surprised/disappointed that it was creamy instead of vinegary. Service has been pretty good and prices are just slightly over average. A fun night = painting at Pinot's Palette then eating/drinking at McCoy's, or vise versa!
