Honest Review

Google
Amazing!! We were here on a 2 day trip and had no clue where to go to eat. Found this absolute gem while stopping by a gas station a few blocks down. The staff was amazing! Embarrassing to say I forgot the name of our server, he was a taller bald guy. He was so sweet and amazing! The food here was delicious, Mac and cheese absolutely amazing!! And the wings.. don’t get me started, best wings I’ve had in a LONG time. I really recommend this place if you‘re looking for good food, service, and music. !!

Google
Great atmosphere and our waiter was so sweet to check that the spinach artichoke dip was gluten free so I could safely eat it! Will def return as the gluten free buns are phenomenal as well as the whole meal! The wife and I give 10/10!

Google
This is a large (for this area) sports bar with plenty of tables and TV screens. The staff were brilliant on a Sunday morning. The comprehensive brunch menu had plenty to offer and plenty of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks to choose from.

Google
I ate the chopped salad and added steak, pretty good- would order this again. Everyone pretty much finished their plate. Our reservation was at 10 and the place was slowly filling up as we were leaving so I definitely recommend an early reservation if you want more privacy/quiet. No parking validation which was a bummer.

Google
My friend and I had the most amazing experience at McCrays Tavern! Our server, Ace, was the most attentive and thoughtful hostess we’ve ever experienced. She gave us great drink and food recommendations, checked on us constantly and just had an amazing attitude overall. (Bonus points for her having a great sense of humor haha) She really made it such an enjoyable night for us both and we really appreciate it💕💕 You guys just gained 2 new regulars✨

Google
Came for lunch with coworkers. Food is average but they had all the typical bar food available like wings, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Our server was super nice. There is also an upstairs for more group seating which was nice. Not giving higher rating due to difficulty to park. Parking experience: Read google review beforehand and knew parking was validated in the deck. However, the ticket machine is no longer used and you have to text or use QR code to pay for parking via parksimple. The instructions were not clear after you click on the link. I tried to complete the process after lunch but my link had expired. Hostess said there’s nothing they can do if my link expired which they assume I had already paid, which I didn’t. I only entered my license plate and because I didn’t know if lunch would take an hour or two, I thought I’d wait and see at the end and didn’t complete the process right after sitting down. Afterwards, I walked out and found my car booted in the deck. Had to pay $75 via the booting company’s QR code online first before a technician came to unboot me. Apparently you have to register your car within 15min… which was not stated anywhere. Lesson learned on the need to ask how parking works when I first walk in. Not wait to talk to hostess afterwards. Also strongly feel the parksimple website should give more specific instructions…

Google
Absolute horrible customer service and value at this location. The girl who runs the front is unprofessional and doesn't care to take customer concerns seriously. Several people were waiting to be seen, and yet no one was at the front. I placed a to go order for chicken strips and fries. They gave me the smallest chicken with little to no fries. I haven't been to this site in a while because I noticed that they price gouge for to go orders and significantly reduce portion sizes compared to in-house service. When I told the host about my disappointment, she shrugged her shoulders and said "okay", then picked up her phone. She could care less about me or my poor experience. She acted as if my business wasn't needed. I told her I will never be back and she repeated "okay." Shame on you all for being so rude.

Google
Great atmosphere with some outside seating. Just came in for a beer and to check the place out. Food menu looked good but we didn't try any. Pretty good beer selection.

Yelp
Spend a couple of days in Atlanta with my fiancée. We came here with a friend who lives nearby. We actually came here twice. They have a good brunch menu. I ordered the french toast. I wish the serving was a bit bigger, but it was good. It wasn't gooey; it had a nice crispy texture. Our server was friendly. He was busy managing multiple tables but was quick to make his rounds. It was nice getting away from the outside humidity. The restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the prices were cheaper than I expected, especially being in a popular part of downtown.

Yelp
While visiting a friend in ATL, we stopped in twice. (Once for brunch, another for drinks) The food was ok. Service was super friendly. They have specials and events during the week. I hear their trivia is super fun. Plenty of seating.

Yelp
I recently ordered food from McCray's Tavern Midtown to my hotel room, and I was pretty impressed. The food arrived promptly and was still hot and fresh, which was a pleasant surprise. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken and a side of their famous Mac & Cheese. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, just how I like it. The seasoning was spot-on, giving it a deliciously savory flavor. The Mac & Cheese was creamy, cheesy, and absolutely indulgent - a true comfort food delight. I highly recommend giving McCray's Tavern Midtown a try.
google avatar

Justin N.

Yelp
I only had the wings and a drink here but the wings were rather large. Seasoning was descent but nothing to go crazy over. Definitely good bar food!
google avatar

Tiyenne G.

Yelp
Decided to try McCrays since it was a short walk from my hotel. I sat at the bar and service was quick and the bartender was super friendly. There was even a DJ, which made the vibe even more enjoyable. Since it was still brunch, I went for the Chicken & Waffles. Chicken was well seasoned and flavorful, and the waffle was perfect. I'll absolutely return to try more menu items!

Yelp
Nice cozy local spot in midtown Atlanta. Good daily specials with a large menu of food options. We opted for the Monday wing special (50% off all day) and enjoyed it!

Yelp
Stopped by while in the area. We sat in the outside porch in the front and ordered, two types of wings, lemon pepper and sweet bbq. We also got Brussel sprouts and macaroni and cheese. I was not a fan of the Brussel sprouts because it had goat cheese on them and even though, I love goat cheese. I personally don't think it paired well and it was over powering. Wings could've been better more lemony for the lemon ones. We got two happy hour drinks that were decent, think it was the pineapple margarita. We went during happy hour hours and it was getting packed. Service was a bit slow but the server was nice and made up for the wait. They had live karaoke while we were there.

Yelp
My friend and I were visiting from out of town so we ordered food through the Uber app to pick up. We were delighted with our selections. It was a nice size portion, with delicious taste. I got a burger and fries, while my friend got a chicken sandwich with mac and cheese.

Yelp
We came to McCray's in search of a good burger, and found what we were looking for. Food: the lemon pepper boneless wings really hit the spot. They were fresh, hot and really flavorful. Unlike a lot of sports bars that have frozen nuggets that they use for boneless wings, these tasted like they were freshly breaded. The matador burger was really good. The sweet and salty bacon jam mixed with the spicy jalapeños was a great combo. The fries weren't the best. The texture felt like they were a bit freezer burnt prior to frying. The tap water also tasted a bit off. Value: the wings were an incredible value at $9 for a lb. The burger was a decent price too at $16. Service: our server was great. She was really attentive and ensured that we constantly had refills on our soda. She checked on us to make sure everything was okay as well Ambiance: this is your typical sports bar. It was a bit dark, the table was a little sticky. We had a few games (connect 4 and uno) at our table which was really nice while we waited for our food!

Yelp
Absolutely love it every time I go, BUT the biggest problem I have is no Alabama Crimson Tide Flag. The Washington Commanders have a flag before our neighbors
google avatar

Jordan H.

Yelp
We came here for a night of fellowship and ordered a few of their appetizers. I'm not a beer person but my waitress found one that I actually liked! I would definitely recommend the spinach dip because that was that was amazing
google avatar

Zad D.

Yelp
Kool vibe, good music and attentive wait staff. Food is bar food but hot and tasty. Try it out
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
This place has become one of our go-to spots. Good is consistently good and really nice staff. Shout out to our waitress Jenn who served us Wednesday night. She hasn't been employee of the month yet - but should be!
google avatar

Anica E.

Yelp
We got a espersso martini and a flat bread pizza. I've been to McCray other times especially this location. All the staff is very friendly and quick and the food is amazing it's on a $$ side. The portions are huge here and a wide variety of options. This place has a bar and booths it's clean and right next to Emory
google avatar

Brenda J.

Yelp
If you're in Midtown seeking a quick bite, this place ideal. Nothing spectacular on the menu but a diversity of options. It gives sports bar vibe so comfy clothes ok. Staff on the younger side but generally decent at service. I ordered the salmon BLT which fell flat for me. Dry, needed a sauce, not the ideal bread for this type of sandwich and the salmon was massively under-seasoned (I didn't finish it). My guest enjoyed the roasted chicken so I was stressing over giving it 3 or 4 stars. It will depend on what you order. Stick to bar staples like wings and you'll be fine. Parking deck adjacent and some on street parking in vicinity.
google avatar

Courtney D.

Yelp
The food was decent and the vibe was chill. We went on a weekday when they just opened so it was fairly empty. The drinks are high quality. Carson was our server and he was great.

Skylar W.

Yelp
Had a very mid level cheesesteak from here. Maybe everything else is good? Any recommendations??
google avatar

Dominic P.

Yelp
Decent food. Dry wings. Slow service. Automatic 18% added to bill for a party of 2. Whats up with that?

Christopher H.

Yelp
The food was decent, but McCray's gave me the wrong order, Megan forgot about us for 35 minutes and never ended up fixing it, and then promised me she took it off the check after I asked her to, while still charging me for the food I never got. I pointed out that I was still being overcharged $25+ for food they forgot, and our server told me it was now taken off the check, while I could still see the charge for food I never received on the tablet. It was some straight gaslight bs. This is legitimately the first bad review I've ever left a restaurant in my life, but they seriously they don't give a fuck here, and they'll lie to you about your bill. Buy $16 drinks elsewhere, there's a bunch of cool places on the beltline that actually deserve your money

Yelp
Such a cool local bar! On Friday they had karaoke and it was entertaining. The food was so good. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with a side of honey mustard. Hubs had fish and chips. Service was good. Beer specials. We were just in town for work but we would definitely go back! Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Eric B.

Yelp
Strolling thru the city looking for a place to have a drink on a Friday night and stumbled upon this place. I knew it was meant to be when I walked past and it was Karaoke night from outside the window, I HAD to come in. I was able to sit at the bar, order some food and beer and also watch some great performances. Briona was behind the bar and was excellent and had an amazing singing voice as she was doing karaoke anddd servicing patrons at the same time lol. I ordered a country IPA that I saw advertised on the wall which was good and I also ordered the S&S Smash Burger. Didn't take long for the food to come out so I went to town on that burger. I couldn't come to a place that was doing karaoke and NOT put my name up there to perform so I signed up to do Nelly's "Ride Wit Me" and there wasn't a wait so I did it right on the spot.. i killed it of course because Karaoke is lifee! The crowd seemed to like it and sang along so I think I did good. I got sad when time got close to 12am because that's when I learned that they actually close at 12. I asked Briona about any other places that are open past 12 and she mentioned 11th street pub a couple blocks up. Such cool vibes at this place.

Yelp
Always a good experience when coming here. The servers are attentive, and the food is delightful. The Benedict is wonderful, I substituted the Canadian bacon with chicken sausage, and it did not disappoint
google avatar

Brittany P.

Yelp
I grabbed lunch here the other day and it was great. The ambiance is nice. They have a bar with plenty of seating and a few high tops by the window. It's a little too chilly to sit outside right now but there is outside seating. Along with plenty of dining room tables. Our server was nice! Super attentive and got us everything that we needed. Her makeup looked great. Im aware nobody cares and that has nothing to do with the review but I wanted to sling the compliment her way. Moving on. We started off with the brussel sprouts. They were good but really oily. They make them by frying them in the oil fryer - which makes sense why they would be oily, but there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the bowl. However, the goat cheese and bacon bits were a great add. The salads here are amazing. I saw some old posts saying the salmon was small or other complaints... the restaurant must have listened cause the portions were huge and delicious (see photos). My bf got the harvest salad with salmon. You can ordered it blackened! I got the Cobb salad but subbed goat cheese for blue cheese cause that's not my jam. The fried chicken here is OUT OF THIS WORLD. I love it. I can't wait to come back for brunch because I'm ordering chicken and waffles. Great place! We'll absolutely be back.

Yelp
In Atlanta for a weekend and we were all starving, the hotel recommended this as a spot to try that was close by. The vibe is fun, just a classic sports bar restaurant. We ordered a couple apps, buffalo chicken rolls and onion rings. Both were absolutely delicious! I would definitely recommend both. For my meal I ordered the S&S Smash Burger, it was so good. Soft and melty and exactly what I wanted on a chilly day. The coleslaw side was ok but I had some of my sister's fries which were crispy on the outside and soft inside, so good! Our waitress Kiki was super nice and came to check in on us frequently. Overall we had a good experience.

Yelp
I came here to meet some friends for brunch on a Saturday morning around 11:30 and they were really busy as I expected. When I arrived the waiter asked what I wanted to drink and just ordered a water. It took the waiter over an hour to bring me back a drink. For that to happen I had to ask another waitress for them to bring me something before my meal. Due to the delay, I got a mimosa on the house because I never got a drink on time. In the end, we found at the waiter was new. I would go back to give the service a chance. I really enjoyed the food and environment. Everything tasted amazing and service was good besides the delay in my order for my drink. I ordered the breakfast sandwich was delicious. It was a fried egg, cheddar cheese, bacon, on toasted Texas toast with their breakfast potatoes. It was ok for it being my first time. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the slow service but I would give the waiter another chance. We also had a reservation for a table. Based on how busy it was I would recommend making a reservation. Overall would go back again and try!
google avatar

Phil W.

Yelp
Really delicious food. The special was good. They appear to have a wide selection of drinks. No one at my table was disappointed with the food. Very filling portion sizes. No regrets going. I imagine service was a little slower/limited due to staffing shortages, but overall all our food came out efficiently.

Yelp
Burgers are good af, bar scene is social, beer is good and service is prompt. I went in to pick up my to go order and ended up ordering more after being tempted by a burger I saw on their menu. I sat at the bar and was immediately greeted by another patron also seated. She was very friendly, and full of conversation. While I waited on the second burger I ordered, I began to eat my first and requested an IPA.... WTF is in that sauce? Y'all remember the movie Good Burger? "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger, may I take your ooorder?" That's what went through my mind while eating. I was imagining these were the burgers they ate in the movie. It was so damn good, I'm pretty sure I inhaled it. The beer off tap was just the icing on the cake. When I come off this detox..... momma is coming for another visit.
google avatar

Adam A.

Yelp
Solid bar food - nothing all that great. Apparently the buffalo chicken is made with blue cheese inside of it, which I didn't learn until I took a bite and almost gagged bc I can't stand blue cheese. Service ok, lots of TVs to watch games.
google avatar

Darlene K.

Yelp
We came out on a Friday night. This place had a fun vibe and really wonderful and wonderful terrible karaoke. It was quite the mix of songs! The wings were delicious. I'm kind of craving them now. The Caesar salad was bland. It definitely needed more flavor. The dressing tasted like mayo with parmesan sprinkled on top. Service was pretty good though. It was nice seeing everybody singing. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Laks P.

Yelp
I came here with some coworkers for lunch and the Southwest Bowl with steak was amazing and fitting for the occasion as it wasn't messy to eat and it was very filling! We got the pimiento poppers as an appetizerand it was so good!! We had about 9 people and the service was still very good and timely!

Remy V.

Yelp
After the delay of some 15 minutes before the server came to the table....food was reasonable much tasty then our expectations.."D BOMB" cajun pasta..average wings and very good flat bread..
google avatar

Vi G.

Yelp
Yum! Parking is in the garage right next to McCrays! Easy to get in/out. Had a quick meeting here. Food, environment, the area were all perfect! I don't usually rave about salads. But the Cobb chicken salad I had, was clean, fresh & pretty darn good!
google avatar

LaDreena W.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to meet up with a friend from out of town and decided to make reservations here mainly based on its proximity to her hotel. I came slightly before the selected time and saw others arriving and being seated. I was still glad for the security of my reservation but I don't think I would shy away in the future if I didn't have one. We came for brunch and the food was good! I had the chilaquiles and while quite spicy, I felt like the flavor was there. My friend had the shrimp and grits and said she was pleased with her dish as well. Tip: The bottomless mimosas are worth it! Our glasses never emptied:)
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
Not terrible but definitely not good. The Pineapple daiquiri had a weird floral taste. And I paid 23 for a salad with rubbery steak and barely any vegetables.
google avatar

George D.

Yelp
I give this place a solid C+. First off, trying to reach these folks to make a reservation is impossible. They steer you to their online reservations system. Which i did. I even followed up with another comment in said system. But... they NEVER responded. I gave up on them and went to OpenTable and guess what? They were listed and I was able to make an immediate reservation. Very strange. As to the experience. We were seated at a high top with no back stools. Not great for a business dinner that lasted 2+ hours. But, there were no low top tables available. We ordered a variety of apps. The Big A$$ Pretzel was very good. The pimento cheese fritters not so much. Tasted like a frozen food item that you heat up. We also ordered some wings - lemon pepper, hot and reaper. The LP Wings were the best. As to the reapers... a bit of a joke. If you are going to have something labeled "reaper" it damn well better be hot. Not hot at all. We could not tell the difference between the hot and reaper and at best, they were medium. For app, I got the S&S Burger. The description was quite appetizing. Unfortunately, the burger was a bit overcooked and on the dry side. Still tasty. Probably would not go back.

Jared G.

Yelp
Waited for 15 min to be seated because there wasn't a host/hostess - then once seated waited for over 20 min and no one came to the table. Finally just left. Not what it used to be.

Yelp
Today we came to McCrays for Brunch and sat up stairs in Foster's section. He took great care of us. He gave us great recommendations on different items to eat. Food came out pretty quick and was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thanks Foster!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent location in Midtown. Nice menu options. Great service. Excellent place to watch a game with friends. Food was very good. Beer options were pretty good.

Olivia S.

Yelp
Great food, burger was super flavorful and rich. The brussels sprouts weren't as sweet as I like but the glaze was still pretty good and more savory than usual which was interesting! The prices were good too. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and I loved the atmosphere and ambiance. They had games and music playing and both were new and fun to watch and listen to.
google avatar

Ruby G.

Yelp
Wow!!! A sports bar setting with super friendly staff, quick service and close parking. I received a free appetizer coupon when I checked into my hotel (always ask for your hotel's recommendations), and decided to check it out. Jenn was a rockstar of a server, and was attentive and helpful. Tavern chips are HUGE! Easily could be shared by 4 people. The flat bread was yummy, easily a few portions. Draft beer was ice cold, and the funky cocktail menu looked promising. If you are in the area, and want that local sports bar feel, check them out!

Lora B.

Yelp
Just left after sitting at a high top next to the bar for over 10 minutes and not one person acknowledged us as they walked by ... no one, not the bartender, not the same server that walked by three separate times, nor the girl who told us we could sit at that high top and walked past us two more times while showing people to their seats... no one
google avatar

Tyler L.

Yelp
Deciding to have after-dinner drinks at McCray's, a friend and myself sat at the bar. The bartender was a bit of a challenge. I would say service was slow, but that couldn't have been the case because she never spoke to us and barely had a chance to serve us because we were unacknowledged. After ordering two rounds of drinks, our receipt reflected we had ordered three rounds of drinks. While the bartender apologized for the mistake, I can't help but think she was agitated with us, assumed we were intoxicated & chose to add a third round. She then blamed the buttons on the "register" for the $26 addition. It just seemed peculiar & off putting.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
Went with some friends to watch the super bowl, good ambiance, good screens, good food. I got 2 drinks (spiked strawberry lemonade & blackberry spritzer) both were tasty and weren't too expensive. The service I got from the waitress was great as well! Would come again.
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
It was good. Service a bit slow though place wasn't packed. TVs everywhere (& at least one very loud). My smash burger was good with very good lightly-battered fries. Wife liked her Matador bacon, jam burger ok & really liked the crispy house-made chips.

Beeg R.

Yelp
The service was good here. Foster took very good care of us. I had the Cajun Seafood Pasta. This is the best I have anywhere else! Great combination of seasoning and cream. Definitely recommended. Kid got chicken wings. They were juicy and cooked perfectly. It was a perfect dinner after going to the Peach Bowl, even though our team lost.

G. William J.

Yelp
We only had salads and an appetizer, so I can speak for the food, but what bothered me was how they charged us for the salad dressings. Not extra dressing, but the actual garnish for the salad! This feels of poor customer consideration and greed. Our server was cool though.
google avatar

Reanna C.

Yelp
Ty was our server and he was AMAZING! If anyone deserves a raise, it's him! Food was delicious and service was speedy and friendly. We are not local to the area and very much enjoyed ourselves here. Thank you Ty!! Edited to add: I forgot to mention... the host stand left a lot to be desired. The two women working the stand were not very friendly; when we walked in they said "there's a wait" instead of any greeting or anything... we said yes that's fine, the host responded "okay WELL it's going to be 15 minutes"... as someone with extensive restaurant experience I was disappointed in the hosts lack of hospitality. Hopefully they were just having a bad night and this isn't their norm!

Yelp
I got the 6th Street Nachos!!! So so good I could eat these everyday I got chicken for my protein, such a large portion
google avatar

Dante W.

Yelp
This place was TERRIBLE. I won't be going back, we were sat in the back and off to the side, which wasn't a big deal. Once the food came, it made everything worse. The waffles were dry and honestly I would rather have eggs waffles. Those would have been more satisfying. The chicken was very dry, but it had a little bit at flavor in it. I do recommend the chicken sausage, just make sure you tell them to cook it well. Mine was a little undercooked.

Yelp
Late night stop after shopping. We walked in and was promptly seated close to the bar. Our waitress greeted us after a short wait and we ordered spirits to kick off dinner. We ordered two beers, tony rigatoni and southwest bowl. The pasta was descent but quite bland. I asked for more seasonings and sauce due to the dryness. The southwest bowl was okay but we sent it back because it was so bland and not fresh. Our server suggested flatbread and it was a great replacement. The food was okay however not sure if we will return.
