Cedars of Lebannon in Seattle’s U District May Be Getting Replaced With a McDonald’s | Eater Seattle

"A major fast-food chain has bought the storefront on University that had been home to a shuttered bar and that “will also displace” the longtime gyros-and-falafel restaurant on the building’s north side. The move has provoked opposition from neighborhood groups and residents who view the Ave as a bastion of grungy weirdness; as The Stranger’s Charles Mudede put it, “basically doesn’t really serve food,”. The neighborhood group U District Advocates is opposing the plan, and a Change.org petition started by the operations manager of a nearby shop warns, “These companies push out local small businesses, sign a long contract then pull out, leaving the storefront vacant for years. Your favorite hole in the wall might be next,”" - Harry Cheadle

Ordered via skip the dishes. Got a big arch and was about to take a bite when my girlfriend noticed mold on the bottom of the bun. On closer inspection, it appears to be two kinds of mold. Absolutely disgusting that they would try to feed this quality of food to people.

Delicious burger? Is the packaging quality ok? Amount of salt on potatoes? There is ice in cola! I asked you not to add it! Where's the meat in my burger? The bun tastes like mold. The service is dismissive, slow and nasty. How do these people still work there?! Why does something that should bring me joy spoil my mood... and in the end I paid for this shit🫤 I'm very upset that now I have these photos on my profile, but maybe this will help someone get past this McDonald's

I've only visited early morning. The facility is typically filthy, especially the men's washroom. The 1st time I noticed I gave a pass, as it was on a weekend morning. However, my visit today made my stomach turn. The large bag with food and what appears to be a homeless persons clothing had been sitting there for 24 hours. There was vomit in the sink (not the 1st time) and urine and garbage in the toilets. It was unsanitary to say the least. So to put that into perspective, 24 hours have gone by and no manager had stepped foot in there or even worse was aware and chose not to act.

Extremely unprofessional service. I went to pick up a Skip order and was ignored by both staff members for several minutes, despite ringing the bell multiple times. When someone finally came out, he was rude and dismissive, saying he was preparing the order and even threatened to cancel it when I asked for basic communication. Very poor attitude—if you choose to work, do it respectfully or stay home please 🙏.

This McDonald’s location leaves a lot to be desired, especially if you’re hoping for a quick bite. Despite being relatively modern in appearance and clean inside, the service here is consistently slow—regardless of how busy it is. Even during off-peak hours, wait times for basic orders can feel unnecessarily long. Another major downside is the lack of a drive-thru, which makes the delays even more frustrating. Without the option to stay in your vehicle, you’re left standing around waiting, often without much communication from staff. The food quality is standard for McDonald’s, and the McCafé section is nicely stocked, but the overall experience is disappointing if you’re looking for speed or convenience. This location is fine if you’re not in a rush, but if you’re hoping for the usual fast-food efficiency, you may want to look elsewhere.

Martin was one of the worst Mcdonald employee i have encountered in my life. He made me wait 15 minutes to take my order even when he saw me waiting. And he kept on giving me weird looks making me feel unsafe. He looked really unhappy with his job

This McDonald's became famous for the first walk-through window (instead of the typical drive thru). Funny enough, there was no one at the window, staff or patrons. I ordered a Happy Meal for the little ones to share as an afternoon snack. It took a while to get our order, but when we got it, the fries and McNuggets were hot and fresh. I consider the wait today worth it.

This McDonald’s is going to be a wonderful location. I say going to be, because right now it’s serving a large construction area surrounding it. It can get noisy and the tradesmen can be quite dirty. I commend the workers at this location for their constant efforts to keep it clean. The location is modern and attractive if you end up living in the area. It has a convenient order window street side. Inside is lots of tables and clean washroom facilities. The parking is almost non existent, which is why I gave it 4 stars. The staff are wonderful. Give this a chance, and have some patience while construction is ongoing.
