Cedars of Lebannon in Seattle’s U District May Be Getting Replaced With a McDonald’s | Eater Seattle

"A major fast-food chain has bought the storefront on University that had been home to a shuttered bar and that “will also displace” the longtime gyros-and-falafel restaurant on the building’s north side. The move has provoked opposition from neighborhood groups and residents who view the Ave as a bastion of grungy weirdness; as The Stranger’s Charles Mudede put it, “basically doesn’t really serve food,”. The neighborhood group U District Advocates is opposing the plan, and a Change.org petition started by the operations manager of a nearby shop warns, “These companies push out local small businesses, sign a long contract then pull out, leaving the storefront vacant for years. No doubt that why this place has 2.8 rating. Stopped by this McDonald’s and waited 3–4 minutes just to place an order. Not to receive food, literally just to get someone to acknowledge me. Staff were present but completely ignoring customers. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing. If they’re this short-staffed, they need to hire properly or train better, because the front counter was basically abandoned. Totally unacceptable for a fast-food place.

Took forever for them to complete our order. We stood waiting for at least 20 minutes. Can get food faster at a sit down resteraunt. They cleared our order from their screens to make it appear like they got it out much faster than they did. Terrible business practice. Do better.

Ordered via skip the dishes. Got a big arch and was about to take a bite when my girlfriend noticed mold on the bottom of the bun. On closer inspection, it appears to be two kinds of mold. Absolutely disgusting that they would try to feed this quality of food to people.

I had a great experience at the McDonald’s in downtown Calgary. The place was clean and well-organized, and the staff were friendly and attentive — really made us feel welcome. The food was fresh and tasty, and my kids absolutely loved their meals. The only downside is that the area outside the store and the parking lot can get a bit too busy, which makes it less comfortable when arriving or leaving. Overall, though, it’s a solid spot for a quick and satisfying meal!

Marylin was incredibly kind when I arrived on October 1st at 12:30 pm with my parents that are elderly people. She personally greeted us at the front door when I was pushing my mom's wheelchair. She found out a special spot for us to sit comfortably. Her commitment to exceeding customer service was well beyond our expectations! Marylin deserves thousands of compliments .

Staff and manager is rude :( We ordered dine in but the waiting time took over 20 minutes with just only my friend and I ordering in the lobby, I was fine with that as they might have skip or doordash orders waiting. But by the time the food came, my ride was here. I apologized and asked if I get a bag instead, girly sighed and rolled her eyes at me, didn’t say anything and went to her manager and pointed at me in which both gave me side look, and then she got my bag and dropped it on the counter. When my friend got drinks, she slammed the drink tray on the counter and turned around.

The slowest and most disorganized McDonald's I have been to. Our order numbers disappeared from the collect screen twice. Lots of staff, but they don't accomplish much, get confused, lose orders. Most stand around and walk back and forth to the front from the back. 20 mins to get egg McMuffins and people who ordered after us got served first. Won't be back.

I've only visited early morning. The facility is typically filthy, especially the men's washroom. The 1st time I noticed I gave a pass, as it was on a weekend morning. However, my visit today made my stomach turn. The large bag with food and what appears to be a homeless persons clothing had been sitting there for 24 hours. There was vomit in the sink (not the 1st time) and urine and garbage in the toilets. It was unsanitary to say the least. So to put that into perspective, 24 hours have gone by and no manager had stepped foot in there or even worse was aware and chose not to act.
