Cedars of Lebannon in Seattle’s U District May Be Getting Replaced With a McDonald’s | Eater Seattle

"A major fast-food chain has bought the storefront on University that had been home to a shuttered bar and that “will also displace” the longtime gyros-and-falafel restaurant on the building’s north side. The move has provoked opposition from neighborhood groups and residents who view the Ave as a bastion of grungy weirdness; as The Stranger’s Charles Mudede put it, “basically doesn’t really serve food,”. The neighborhood group U District Advocates is opposing the plan, and a Change.org petition started by the operations manager of a nearby shop warns, “These companies push out local small businesses, sign a long contract then pull out, leaving the storefront vacant for years. I was truly impressed by how friendly and attentive the staff were. You can clearly see how much effort they put into keeping the restaurant clean and well managed. We often come here with our children for Sunday meals, and every time we feel very comfortable and welcomed. The staff are kind to families, and it allows us to enjoy our meal in a relaxed atmosphere. This level of service is rare for a fast food restaurant. Thank you for always making our visits pleasant and stress-free. We really appreciate it!🌺

No doubt that why this place has 2.8 rating. Stopped by this McDonald’s and waited 3–4 minutes just to place an order. Not to receive food, literally just to get someone to acknowledge me. Staff were present but completely ignoring customers. No greeting, no eye contact, nothing. If they’re this short-staffed, they need to hire properly or train better, because the front counter was basically abandoned. Totally unacceptable for a fast-food place.

For a more bite and coffee, I think that's a great place. It can be a bit of a wait, however. Staff is good, the company might want to hire more people rather than having machines. Doesn't matter if I can order fast when I'm waiting 3-4 minute for a coffee. Dining area is nice but it's usually quite full. Nice environment.

I had a great experience at the McDonald’s in downtown Calgary. The place was clean and well-organized, and the staff were friendly and attentive — really made us feel welcome. The food was fresh and tasty, and my kids absolutely loved their meals. The only downside is that the area outside the store and the parking lot can get a bit too busy, which makes it less comfortable when arriving or leaving. Overall, though, it’s a solid spot for a quick and satisfying meal!

Took forever for them to complete our order. We stood waiting for at least 20 minutes. Can get food faster at a sit down resteraunt. They cleared our order from their screens to make it appear like they got it out much faster than they did. Terrible business practice. Do better.

Ordered via skip the dishes. Got a big arch and was about to take a bite when my girlfriend noticed mold on the bottom of the bun. On closer inspection, it appears to be two kinds of mold. Absolutely disgusting that they would try to feed this quality of food to people.

The slowest and most disorganized McDonald's I have been to. Our order numbers disappeared from the collect screen twice. Lots of staff, but they don't accomplish much, get confused, lose orders. Most stand around and walk back and forth to the front from the back. 20 mins to get egg McMuffins and people who ordered after us got served first. Won't be back.

Delicious burger? Is the packaging quality ok? Amount of salt on potatoes? There is ice in cola! I asked you not to add it! Where's the meat in my burger? The bun tastes like mold. The service is dismissive, slow and nasty. How do these people still work there?! Why does something that should bring me joy spoil my mood... and in the end I paid for this shit🫤 I'm very upset that now I have these photos on my profile, but maybe this will help someone get past this McDonald's
