I used to come to this location every other day and in the last 6 months, this McDonald's location has consistently shorted me on the drinks I order. I usually get a Large Mocha Frappe and they keep giving me less drink and filling the extra space with whipped cream. At one point, I basically got a Large cup only half full and had to go into the store to show them the problem. The person who remade it, possibly a manager, STILL shorted me some. So I stopped going for a couple months and tried again. This is what I got. I essentially got like a Medium drink in a Large cup....Probably won't go back when other locations have better training on how to make them.

The place is horrible and ghetto. They took out of all the memorabilia of the original McDonalds building! They have the coworkers bikes inside the gate of the outside eating area... Really McDonalds you can't even have a simple bike rack for your employees? That's pathetic. And they don't even have inside seating... only outside seating.... it gets below freezing cold for Des Plaines, Illinois. This is sad for even McDonalds. Lastly I wanted a refill for my sweet tea when I finished my meal and the manager said they don't do refills!! Which McDonalds don't do refills? This is pure greed and not customer centric at all. I advise everyone to not go here. Horrible customer service.

Paid extra for tomatoes and didn’t get them. Then had to go back and the exiting team room the fresh sandwich made for me and made me wait while they prepared another one. Guess I’m not Hispanic so I didn’t get fair treatment! When are we going to be good to customers despite how they look!!!!

The people here are very rude. First off there should be labeled as just a drive-through McDonald’s. There’s nowhere to sit, no areas to fill your drinks, and before I could even ask anything, they said all the bathrooms are occupied. I didn’t even ask about that. I just wanted somewhere to sit. I just walked out. This is one of the most unfriendly McDonald’s I’ve ever been to. Normally I have good experience at McDonald’s. Just letting you know it’s just drive-through. This should be labeled this way.

I would put zero stars if I could, I ordered a sausage McMuffin no muffin,SOMEHOW. I got a gross burger with grilled onions, when I called to the manager the lady with a heavy accent who said she was the manager, picked up the phone.. didn't say hello McDonald's nothing while taking orders then eventually she says McDonald's,I try to calmly tell her what happened an she said NO SORRY we don't have burgers in the morning, in a loud rude tone like talking down to me , she wouldn't let me talk she just kept saying I was wrong, I said I tried to call you so that I wouldn't have to deal with corporate , but now I'm definitely taking this up before and I sure did but I thought everyone should know the manager here at the 530 ish pm shift doesn't care what happens to your food The drive thru lady in the mornings weekdays,elder lady is amazing ,so friendly and helpful,so I definitely didn't expect this

Here for a pickup and Roxana refusing to give order I showed her the order and all the items customer ordered and she still refusing to hand order. She even showed me bag and I saw the name it's my order and still refusing to hand it over for delivery. If you get an order here skip it waste of everyone's time.

Service is really good and the people are always kind. I've never had an issue with them getting my order wrong which is a positive. The reason I don't love the location is there is no inside seating at all. They have some outside seats but I find it extremely strange that they completely took away inside seating.

I am so impressed with the staff and manager, they are all hard working to take care of the customer and restaurant. Very clean, Food was exceptional being warm and accurate. I had the best experience, knowing that the staff cared about me and the food that was served. Being a business owner in Des Plaines, I would highly recommend the McDonald's in Des Plaines, IL , on Oakton!!!!

I left early so that I could stop and get breakfast and look at my phone and catch up and catch up on my emails. Needless to say I was surprised. What McDonald's does not have indoor seating? Really? So I ended up sitting in the car eaten and doing what I had to. They have no indoor seating. There is some outdoor seating which is nice however, it was raining.

Worst customer service ever, I walked into the McDonald's due to a long drive-thru there were 2 customers in line. I waited 10 minutes without any acknowledgement. I ask the spanish lady if anyone was working the register and she responded with yes but you have to wait. So I just walked out and went to burgerking on lee st. where they were polite and service was quick. No more McDonald's for me.

I always count on McDonald's having a clean bathroom which is convenient because I'm addicted to their Diet Coke ! I stopped in to go to the bathroom. There was an out of order sign that looks like it was posted a month ago. I asked the lady if the bathroom was really broken because I really need to go. She said it's only for employees. That's ridiculous ! I won't be back to this location !

This place may have the one decent breakfast order taker in the drive thru, but it's marred by rest of the staff that did not give me my hash brown with my breakfast sandwiches. Yeah, I doubt I'm coming back when I needed my hash brown for a Monday workday. I'd do 0 stars out of 5, but Yelp won't do it. Meh. Why does Des Plaines McDonalds suck?

I had a mobile order. I pulled up to the window and they gave me someone else's order. Then I pulled into the waiting area for 5 more minutes and they got my order wrong. Ordered no pickles and no onions. Both my sandwiches had onions and pickle. So much for a quick pickup and correct food.

The best McDonald's store all over the City! This is my number one place-to-go, whenever I am with my friends, family, co-workers, or even in my me-time. This is the perfect place to relax, have fun, satisfy cravings, and also their food is the answer when you are so hungry. I really love their customer service, they greeted me and show me smile. They even assist me and ask me if I need something from their kitchen like water, extra sauce, or anything. All of them are so friendly and nice. I really appreciate all of their staff. One of my favorite is their BigMac meal because it was so awesome, their french fries is also phenomenal, plus their desserts are so great. I will never forget how best and great all their meals are. Their store is so big, they also have parking lot, their store is so decent, clean, and nice. Also their store is so easy find, they are so near to other well-known places around the City. I will definitely come back again, and also highly recommend McDonald's store, especially to those looking for such a phenomenal meals, great service, and awesome experience. Thumbs up McDonald's! Thank you and will go back there again when I am in the City.

I very much like the food and customer service at this McDonald's compared to other store around. Their staff are always very welcoming and cheerful, all of them are so decent and professional. They will even assist you anytime you need something inside their kitchen or other things. They have excellent location, they are so near to other landmarks around, they are so easy to find and go to. Their place is so worth visiting again and again, you won't feel being uncomfortable and you can get there such a satisfying experience. Their store is always nice, clean, decorated, and organized. You will be amaze with the ambiance inside their store, and you will definitely go back again and again. They also have online app and site, so that you can easily order some of their meals, and enjoy it anywhere you are, like when you are in house, office, vacation, and etc. And also it is perfect to order when you are bonding with your friends, meeting, me-time, and also family gathering or reunion. Their app and site so easy to use and very convenient. Anytime and anywhere you can enjoy their phenomenal foods. That is why I love this store very much. Good job guys! Keep up the good work. I went to the River Rd, Des Plaines, IL location yesterday with my son and the cashier lady kept asking me if I want her to go in back to get a dollar in change (she meant that she was out of dollar bills and would get me a dollar bill rather than providing quarters). -- I wouldn't have cared either way but couldn't understand what she was saying since her question was lost in translation. -- She became very rude with a sarcastic smile and went in back to get the dollar bill. -- I just couldn't believe how rude that lady was and I think she is the manager too! -- It also smells very moldy in there but I'm sure its a safe food environment. -- We will never go here again and was so annoyed that I may report her to corporate as well..

Employees seem to close earlier then what is posted online. All light on, drive thru menu still lite up at 10:15 (closes at 11) employees still inside. Wont answer drive thru and ignore us if you went to the window. Two other cars waiting to order after us. Not the first time this has happened. Just the first time I've been upset enough to actually complain about it. Morning crew is amazing. Evening crew should completely be replaced. Giving McDonald's a bad name here. Would suggest driving to a different one. Food would be better anywhere else anyways. Stay away from the big macs here. Your stomach will thank me.

Since this is the McDonald's location right across the street from the original McDonald's that was opened by Ray Kroc, I'm surprised to see only one review here. I'm also surprised there wasn't a place to check in for the "museum" that shows off where the first Micky D's was....but I guess since there's not much there, that's why. First, let's talk about the "museum" It's set up as if to look into a McDonald's in the 50's, complete with 2 mannequins who appear to be working. They have an old school sign out front, some old school cars, and some neat stuff to see inside....but for a corporation like McDonald's...they could have done a MUCH better job. The restaurant across the street.....your typical McDonald's. I wasn't really hungry, but I felt like I had to get an old school single cheeseburger and fries, just to say I've been there. The single cheeseburger took forever to be ready, it looked like crap, and didn't taste much better. I'd give this one star except for the fact that they had some decent history and pictures of McDonald's history.

There is no other McDonalds in the area with more problems with systems going down than this one. Online ordering NEVER shows up on their end, scanners usually dont work for coupons. Today, no Diet Coke (dont drink it but there was a hand made sign on menu board at drive thru) and the computers went down, again, while I was ordering. Unable to use any coupons, again. I dont know why every other owner upgrades their stores, but not these people. I have never had an issue with staff, I just feel bad for them because the constant failure of computers or machines not operating.

This place is a hit or miss. They are liars too. One morning I went and ordered my sandwich a certain way. Came back later, a couple months down the line and they said they couldn't do it because that's not what they had hot and pretty much didn't want to make my food fresh. Today I went and the boy at the drive thru was just rude. My nephew bit into his nugget and some weird piece of not chicken but I guess they call it chicken was in there. Not cool

The night crew of this location is horrible. They are slow and lazy. I have gone in there twice this week to buy an apple pie and both times they have said they don't have any. They are too lazy to make any, they don't even offer to make some fresh ones for you. If I was the owner of this McDonald's I would have the proper management to oversee these employees because they are going to lose business.

This location is terrible! For across the street from the first, they are really smearing their name. The drive thru is always beyond slow. Last time I clocked it at 10 minutes. Ordered a double cheeseburger and fries, ask for ketchup and the rude girl says, "it's in there." Really, 2 ketchups for a medium fry? Their fries are cold 75% of the time, which if you'd been waiting in line, you'd hope was because they were making fresh ones. Nope. My biggest complaint of this location is that I was violently ill this past weekend. I had a double cheeseburger and fries, which resulted in it coming back up on both ends for 24 hours and extreme cramping. When I called them the next day to let them know, all they said was, did you go to the hospital? For food poisoning? No, I did not. You'd think they would apologize and refund my money and the 6 Gatorades I had to buy after being dehydrated from the whole ordeal. The manager calls me and tells me that they only pay hospital bills and can refund my $3.33 if I come in to the store, even tho I paid by CC. As if after that ordeal I want to go in and smell fries and burgers! Never again. If you're craving fast food in Des Plaines, do yourself a favor and head South down Lee/Mannheim where there's a Wendy's and Burger King. Or if you must have the Golden Arches, there's one on Oakton and Lee/Mannheim.

I just went to this location for the first time. The younger Hispanic male that took my order was rude as shit. Horrible communication skills. His tone and facial expressions made it very clear that he does not like working there. Maybe he should become a night custodian so he doesn't have to communicate with anyone.

Every time I get off work, and have a taste for McDonalds this is usually the McDonalds I go too. The only reason for that is because it's on my way home from work and not out of the way. But I will say it's horrible, the driveway though is terrible, no matter when I go, it's always backed up, not to mentioned the employees are rude as hell.

The drive through took 10 minutes with only one other car in front of me. When I got to the window to pick up my cold food, I asked the lady who barely spoke English why there was a hold up. Her response..? She rolled her eyes at me....and tried charging me a dollar for a ranch cup. NO STARS!!! I realize that this is not a 5-star restaurant; but I still expect common courtesy. This location has the rudest employees working the drive-thru that I have ever encountered. There are three in particular (two guys and one lady). The next time, I'm going to ask for names and write to the corporate offices, because being slow on top of having nasty attitudes is unacceptable. Sure there are many locations, but this is most convenient and management needs to know.
