Workers from McDonald’s, Burger King, and More Are Planning a State-Wide Strike | Eater Miami

"I found that workers at McDonald’s in Florida say they have “risked their lives” keeping drive-thrus open during the COVID-19 outbreak and are joining strikes over low wages, lack of sick and hazard pay, and inadequate PPE; many report being forced to use shirts and coffee filters as makeshift masks despite a South Florida requirement for restaurant workers to wear face coverings. Deathea Edie, a Fort Lauderdale McDonald’s worker, says, “We have always taken pride in what we do… McDonald’s number one priority needs to be making sure we are safe on the job, not selling more and more burgers and fries.” After March protests McDonald’s announced it would supply masks and PPE, and spokesperson Denise Wilson says the company has provided masks and gloves since April and has started installing barriers, floor decals, and shift wellness checks; workers, however, contend supplies remain inconsistent and that some managers have told them to use makeshift masks." - Olee Fowler

I’ve always enjoyed visiting this McDonald’s, especially in the mornings — the previous staff was consistently friendly, efficient, and accurate with my orders. Unfortunately, my experience today was disappointing and not up to the usual standard. My order came in a torn bag, causing the food to fall out, and my bacon, egg, and biscuit (no cheese) was made incorrectly — there was no bacon at all. Mistakes can happen, but what stood out most was the overall drop in attentiveness and care compared to what I’ve come to expect from this location. It’s clear that the new morning team may need additional training or support to meet the same level of service this restaurant is known for. This location has always been one of my favorites, and I truly hope management helps the current staff get back to that high standard.

Very clean restaurant and a friendly staff on our Saturday morning visit. My English muffin felt a little stale, but other than that it met my expectations! I wish McDonald’s would go back to their original orange juice rather than serving the watered down one they have now.

There is no refills at this location!!! 😤😤😤 But there is another McDonald's just 2 miles aways and you get free refills. The lady said no water no sodas no coffee. That's why some franchise companies are closing down . Customer comes first . There are plenty of more restaurants around this area with a better customer service.

This McDonalds is the worst in Broward County. From customer service to food handling. The wait time inside is very very long and the employees just keep talking to each other with small talk and NOT attend the customer's needs. I left couldn't wait any longer just to get a Carmel Frappe.....SMH The owner of this McDonalds Needs to do Better!!!!

This McDonald’s location was very clean, and the kiosks made ordering quick and easy. However, I wasn’t greeted upon arrival and didn’t really notice much interaction from the staff — it just seemed like everyone was busy doing their own thing. The biggest disappointment is the menu. They’ve removed the healthier options like salads and grilled chicken, leaving very limited choices if you’re trying to eat lighter. Because of that, I wasn’t able to order anything and ended up leaving to eat somewhere else. It’s a shame because the convenience and cleanliness are there, but without healthier options, this location really misses the mark for me.

I’d give this place minus stars!!! I’m still standing in at the front of the counter and I’ve tried to get attention of the employees for over 10 minutes. This is a joke. What kind of fast food is this. Next time I’ll go

We went pretty late at night, we have to pick up someone from the airport nearby and their flight was 2 hours delayed. So we stopped by at around midnight. Too a bit to get out food but other than that everything else was fine.
