This is the worst McDonald's I've ever been to in my entire life, 45 minutes to get my order which, by the way, was missing items that I paid to add, detail, my order disappeared. Detail in the photo was supposed to be a double burger and lettuce 🤡 (DTW MCNAMARA TERM)

Google
They encourage in-app ordering but do not take rewards or discounts. When you get all the way to the end it just fails inside the app and you have to start over. Employee ordered me to stop filling up my water bottle after I finished my $14 coffee and sandwich I waited way too long for (I kept getting skipped over and over until I went up as asked them if I'd been skipped, then they started making it.) This was from a person that started servicing the soda machine as I finished filling up my water bottle after eating my meager tiny breakfast that cost $14. She said "we don't allow for water bottle filling," and pointed to a taped up sign. I honestly hadn't seen it, but have never heard of such a thing. I said "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see that. I DID just spend $14 here for coffee and a samdwich," and showed her my McDonald's coffee cup. I walked off. I *think* she said "you have fo dump it out" and motioned dumping out a water bottle (?) to me as I was walking off but I couldn't really hear her, I was flustered and getting out of the way as fast as possible. I'm sure I'm not their only customer who pays for junk food here they may not even want, accepting the higher prices (no rewards or deal redemption) and poor customer service because for medical reasons we have to have ice in our water bottles before they get on a flight. Since we're gracious about that, I didn't make a big deal about no rewards or discounts being accepted, nor did I make a big deal about the incompetence in getting me my order - what if the employees here also showed some human kindness and didn't try to flex on us over ice? There's nowhere else to get ice between the time we have to dump our water bottles out and the gate where we have to board the plane. Or hey, why don't you sell a cup to put ice in for 50 cents and I could skip the crap food, clogged arteries, and poor service? Either way, try on a little compassion. Since I can't count on that, I'll spend more time at the drink station next time, pouring out my McDonald's cup, rinsing it out, then filling it with ice, then walking elsewhere and pouring the ice into my own water bottle, coming back, and repeating that until I have ice and water for my flight. But that will not reduce the congestion or depletion of ice at your soda station. Accept people NEED ice in this location. That won't change. Please accept this fact. I suggest this franchisee get another ice machine to keep up.

Probably the cheapest option in the airport. Not the best but ok overall. Got a double quarter pounder with cheese and it's decently priced, for 8 $ Ordering was possible through the kiosks and staff was delivering orders like crazy, overall it was ready in a few minutes, there were people waiting in line so that's definitely "fast food". The Burger itself wasn't really good, with plenty of meat the patty itself was quite bland overall. The area wasn't clean and people had to clean it themselves, not surprising how busy it was. All the cold desserts were not available as well 😔

I along with 10 or so others were there at 4:30 am when they opened to be greeted an angry woman coming out to inform a packed house that it will be kiosk only due to only 4 employees and they will not accept cash for their overpriced, low quality, poorly prepared garbage… oh yeah, you can’t use any app deals, points, or even collect points… all that and prices are triple to quadruple those of a regular restaurant. This is the highest markup of any airport I’ve been in. I nearly made the mistake of paying $6.99 for an iced coffee that I have purchased every morning for years at only $0.99… I didn’t give in to the iced coffee but still spent $9 for two sausage McGriddles which was still ridiculous. The only thing the McGriddles had going was that they were hot. Regardless, McDonalds as a whole has became nothing but a hole, a hole of a whole bunch of worthless, overpriced, low quality crap!

There's no reason than to give this Micky D's a solid 4 stars. Easy. I know the menu. Well situation. It is at the beginning of Terminal A. Fast and efficient. I know I can afford it. Get your condiments to the left. If you have an app, you can order ahead of the line. The line can stretch into the terminal but it goes fast. I appreciated there being a nice place for me to sit and relax a few minutes before squeezing into the tin can they call an airplane nowadays. I ordered a sausage McMuffin with cheese meal and a small coffee for $8.14 USD. I put the coffee in my thermos for the flight home. The breakfast sandwich a solid 8 out of 10. The muffin was a bit chewy and the sausage could have been hotter. The cheese was melty which was terrific. I think most people would think it perfectly good. But I've had better. For the best McDonald's I've ever been to, visit my Anchorage McDonald's review. Amazing.

My wife and I were at DTW McNamara terminal and walked by this McDonald’s at 8am on a Friday in May. We decided to stop in and pick up some food to take to our gate. There was no wait and we ordered an Egg McMuffin and a Sausage McMuffin with a large drink. They had the food made in a few minutes and we were on our way. I don’t have any complaints about this McDonald’s and I would stop by again, everything was fine. Surprisingly, the price was pretty much the same as McDonald’s outside the airport.

Google
I actually really like the McDonald's at DTW, because unlike most airport McDonald's, the price hike isn't that bad. Probably due to the reasonable pricing, the line tends to be quite long, no matter what hour of the day it is. Once you do get your order placed, the food service speed is very reasonable. Another highlight of this airport McDonald's is that the fountain drink is self-serve, like a normal McDonald's. That means unlimited refills unlike some airport locations that doesn't allow refills. The seating area is small, but the workers seems to always keep the area tidy whenever I've stopped through. Really one of the best airport McDonald's in the country.

Yelp
Today the line was long but moved quickly. It was all self service at an electronic kiosk except for food pick up. That girl seemed a bit stressed and was not super friendly. The food is standard fare for McDonalds.

Yelp
This location does not have any deals on their app even though the North Terminal McDonald's has them. Ordered via app and was told the location I placed order was not this McNamara location... kind of frustrating after placing the order on the app, can't place the order since existing order is not completed. Had to go to the kiosk machines to place order. Everything was fast. Placing order, picking up the food and getting out of the restaurant. It was very busy though. Monday morning 8am. Very busy. I guess staffs at McDonald's were too busy they put two sausages on my Sausage Egg McMuffin! Overall, very fast food location here. Hope McDonald's can improve their app experience and make it possible to change restaurant location after placing order.

Jason R.

Yelp
There's a sign by the counter saying to download the app which we can order from. The app says that the deals that apply to nearly every McDonald's, don't apply to this location. Thanks for nothing. Also, in the app I selected the option to have the food delivered to my table. When my order was ready, they called my number and it didn't look like they were going to bring it so I had to go pick it up. Not a problem, but don't offer it if you're not gonna do it.

Yelp
McDonald NOT at its finest. Bought our two items at kiosk and waited We see our number on screen saying in process third one down. People are getting their food and then more people getting food. Our number disappears and still waiting. Go up to counter and told them waiting a long time. I was told they were waiting for McGriddles. 15 minutes??? That's a long time. They gave me a different sandwich so we could catch our plane. I would not have thought at 5am they would be that slow to get food Disappointed for sure

Yelp
It's McDonald's. Know what to expect. Now I frequently fly out of this terminal because Delta flies from here and it is my preferred Airline. Pretty much every time you come there is going to be a line. I'm usually here around breakfast time so I'm here to just grab a sandwich and catch my plane. Now recently they've upgraded to the self-service screens which makes the line go so much quicker but I do feel for the staff as I'm sure this has eliminated a few jobs. Only thing with the self-service is it does not print a receipt at all so make sure you look at the screen at the end for your order number or you will be standing around waiting for a while. The food here is pretty much always accurate. Now it's self-service again to get your drinks except for bottled water. The prices are higher than your traditional McDonald's because this is in an airport but nothing crazy. I usually can get a sandwich and a bottle of water for 7 Bucks so that's not horrible. This location usually always has somebody sweeping or cleaning so the cleanliness is pretty decent. I would definitely recommend in lieu of paying the prices for the restaurants or if you're in a hurry

Yelp
I placed a mobile pick up order at 1:07pm on a Thursday afternoon during a layover. This seemed to be an affordable option. I got a triple cheese burger meal (medium fries and drink) for a little over $8 after tax. I will note that you cannot utilize any deals or rewards you have within the app, which sucks. They really trying to get their money, lol. It was pretty busy and I think they were short staffed. They have 4 kiosks for people to place their orders. You can also do so at the counter. They do have a seating areas. My food wasn't ready until 1:18pm. I walked back to the gate to eat. I finished the fries first, bc they aren't good unless they're fresh lol. As I bit into my burger, I realized they put onions on my burger when it was supposed to be only ketchup. Fortunately, it wasn't too much and I was able to eat it.

Yelp
Not the best McDonalds in the franchise, it's always busy because it's in the airport but food quality and friendliness of staff is a bit to be desired. This place could do with some good management.

Yelp
I think I just shaved a couple of days of my life by eating a meal from McDonald's. It used to be that it taste good going down and then I felt bad later. But now it's not even good anymore. My spicy chicken sandwich didn't look like anything on any of the displays. It looks like Fat Albert sat on it. And the spicy sauce was in one far-reaching corner of the bun. Not to mention the wait! I ate my entire meal, plucked both, Eyebrows , and Ros The's review before my daughter got her food which we ordered at the same time. I'm also mystified at the fact that there is no one taking your order put in front, yet they're not giving you a discount on saving them the salary of paying a cashier, nor are they any faster because they can focus their efforts on preparing the food. I also want to liberate all the workers working here. They look so sad.

Yelp
Yikes, why the hate for this McDonalds? Yes, it's an airport location but I've eaten here a few times without issue, just long lines. Today I was wanting a grilled chicken sandwich before my flight but unfortunately they only have the crispy chicken, so I got a 10 piece chicken nuggets meal instead. Pro tip: for 40c extra you can get a bottle of water instead of a soda. Table was a little messy but they had a few choices. Overall, an average McD so it gets 3/5 stars from me though I wish it offers grilled chicken.

Yelp
It's a guilty pleasure, but if it's breakfast time and I'm close to a McDonalds when I am traveling, I like to grab an egg McMuffin. I've stopped here twice - I wanted to give it a fair shake before I reviewed - and I don't think I'll try again. Prices are exorbitant, which one would expect at an airport. But after a cold egg McMuffin on my first try (not lovin' it), and an order screw-up on my second try, I'm not willing to see if the third time is the charm. I realized the incorrect order when I arrived at my gate (at the far end of the concourse ‍). I had ordered and paid for an egg McMuffin sandwich, but opened my bag to find a sausage McMuffin (wrong sandwich, plus $2 cheaper). At least I got my cardio when I ran back to the Golden Arches. I asked for a refund, which the store granted, and I ran back to my gate, completely skipping breakfast altogether. If you do decide to grab a bite here, learn from my gaffe and check your order for accuracy as soon as you receive it to expedite making it right.

Yelp
There is nothing quite like airport McDonlad's. It is not satisfying. The order is not right. It is just a bad experience. My order was so incredibly simple. It was for two McChickens (both no mayo) and one order of fries (large). That was it. It is pretty difficult to mess that up. But this location made it seem easy. I did not receive one of the sandwiches, and the fry carton was filled like it was a medium. Why does a real life McDonlad's experience never feel and look like what the commercials show?

Michelle V.

Yelp
Worst service ever. Waited 25 minutes food never appeared. Left restaurant without food that I paid for. DO NOT GIVE THE PUBLIC THE LAME EXCUSE DUE TO LACK OF STAFFING. This excuse is not acceptable. I paid $42 days d not get our food. Terrible

Yelp
This McDonalds is located in terminal A at DTW. The service was moderately moving people through, and not unfriendly. I ordered an oatmeal and coffee. Two pretty basic things. Oatmeal was with way too much water so it was too mushy. Coffee was as expected with McDonalds. I was in a hurry, so they got me through but I will say it's sad they couldn't get oatmeal right when all you have to do is add water.

Yelp
I don't know that an airport McDonald's can ever really achieve 5 stars simply because the quality of the food will never match the airport pricing. That said, I've experienced many worse airport McDonald's than this one (located near A35). It's hours are better than most other restaurants in DTW so you can find food here when other spots are closed (suuuper early in my opinion, too!) and the food is very average. The service was pleasant and quick so I can't knock them there. Just what you'd expect from an airport McDonald's is what you'll find here.

Ben R.

Yelp
My order never registered on the line I had to ask about it and once got it the shake was very runny. Person calling out orders seemed "grumpy". Only good part is the person at the register was nice and had no problem getting my money back.

Roberto M.

Yelp
They are not to smart here! I got ripped off on my drink. They said the drink machine was broken, when in reality it does work, but they didn't schedule anyone to hand out drinks and they say because of COVID people can't be trusted to get their own drinks. So they charged me $2.99 for a large drink, normally 30oz at McD. And gave me a 16oz bottle only. A small drink was $1.99 and you get the same 16oz bottle. Ripped off...

Kerry K.

Yelp
Fast service, the french fries were fresh, but the employees were rude and not very friendly.

Yelp
Just visited here 6/24 8:00am If this location is the one in the Delta terminal near gate A35, it is by far the best Mc Donald's I have ever visited. I frequently travel to Vegas and stay at The Palms. That is the worst Mc Donalds ever. This one at Detroit Metro Airport was great this morning. When I got there I was behind 5 or six people. They had two registers working and the Kline moved quick. After ordering you kind of moved to the left into line of people waiting for their food. That went quick as well and the woman calling out the order numbers was on her game. She called out he order, told you what was in the bag, and moved things along. I sat down at the restaurant and ate. When I was finishing, a female employee came buy with a plastic bag to collect my trash with a smile on her face. I have never seen this at Mc Donald's before. You can tell management are on their game. Great job!
google avatar

Joshua K.

Yelp
Really mismanaged staff, no one really seemed to be on top of things. The gal taking our order couldn't have been less interested or helpful. Also crew in back preparing food had their masks below their chins, not covering mouth and nose as is required by law in the food service industry right now. Save your money and time or at least spend it elsewhere.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Boy cott this place rude manager refused to serve me, I'm a truck driver on a 34 hr so my truck cant move. She would not let me order. Walked a mile. Drive all 48 states Burger king let's me Whataburger does. She was just mean.
google avatar

Fab F.

Yelp
The slowest McDonalds I know. Big mistake ordering here so it would be faster. If you are late for your flight just skip it
google avatar

JL S.

Yelp
Driest Bic Mac ever. Lots of loud barking over customer numbers. Why not pull a Shake Shack move and hand out beeper devices with each order? Oh right, this is McDonalds and service has to be the pits.

Dan S.

Yelp
Terrible customer service, old food. Too many people working very slow. Got the most basic mcchiken and it was old dry and hard. They got really pissed off and yelled when I asked for some sauce during pickup.

Maggie H.

Yelp
Took over 20 minutes for 2 mcchickens, lady put the bag on the counter and saw the mcchicken unraveled and open yet disregarded it. They also asked a guy at the back of the line to hold a sign and tell people that try and come that they're closed at 7:46pm.

Jamie C.

Yelp
I usually go to McDonalds in airports when I travel since it's at least predictable. Except this one. I was told at 8:00 pm they stopped serving any of their all day breakfast items. I placed my order and the person got it wrong. I ordered two things, no special requests. The wait was very very long and the orders coming out were very simple. While I was waitIng, one worker came out and told the front staff they're no longer doing ice cream or McCafes or 'anything like that.' Seriously, the absolute worst McDonald's I've ever been to.

Carson L.

Yelp
This is the worst McDonalds I have visited. It was a complete mess and took 30 minutes to get two mcchickens. This just is not what McDonalds is about. If you are late for a flight I would just skip it altogether.

Brandon B.

Yelp
This is the absolute worst McDonald's I have ever been too. Incredibly long wait, which happens. What makes the long wait so bad is they had 3-4 employees huddle up at the cash register talking. They'd occasionally help a customer, but they were socializing 90% of the time. One girl at the cash register was on her phone. One guy was cussing. An employee just took off into the terminal to "go to the bathroom". In my three hour layover as I was walking the terminal, I saw that same girl out talking to people 4 times. They were unfriendly and treated you as though you were an inconvenience to them. There was no apology for the long wait. Skip going here. There are way too many other options to put yourself through this.
