They encourage in-app ordering but do not take rewards or discounts. When you get all the way to the end it just fails inside the app and you have to start over.
Employee ordered me to stop filling up my water bottle after I finished my $14 coffee and sandwich I waited way too long for (I kept getting skipped over and over until I went up as asked them if I'd been skipped, then they started making it.)
This was from a person that started servicing the soda machine as I finished filling up my water bottle after eating my meager tiny breakfast that cost $14.
She said "we don't allow for water bottle filling," and pointed to a taped up sign.
I honestly hadn't seen it, but have never heard of such a thing.
I said "oh, I'm sorry, I didn't see that. I DID just spend $14 here for coffee and a samdwich," and showed her my McDonald's coffee cup.
I walked off. I *think* she said "you have fo dump it out" and motioned dumping out a water bottle (?) to me as I was walking off but I couldn't really hear her, I was flustered and getting out of the way as fast as possible.
I'm sure I'm not their only customer who pays for junk food here they may not even want, accepting the higher prices (no rewards or deal redemption) and poor customer service because for medical reasons we have to have ice in our water bottles before they get on a flight.
Since we're gracious about that, I didn't make a big deal about no rewards or discounts being accepted, nor did I make a big deal about the incompetence in getting me my order - what if the employees here also showed some human kindness and didn't try to flex on us over ice?
There's nowhere else to get ice between the time we have to dump our water bottles out and the gate where we have to board the plane.
Or hey, why don't you sell a cup to put ice in for 50 cents and I could skip the crap food, clogged arteries, and poor service?
Either way, try on a little compassion.
Since I can't count on that, I'll spend more time at the drink station next time, pouring out my McDonald's cup, rinsing it out, then filling it with ice, then walking elsewhere and pouring the ice into my own water bottle, coming back, and repeating that until I have ice and water for my flight.
But that will not reduce the congestion or depletion of ice at your soda station.
Accept people NEED ice in this location. That won't change. Please accept this fact. I suggest this franchisee get another ice machine to keep up.
