Downtown San Francisco McDonald’s Closes After Nearly 30 Years on Front Street - Eater SF

"A downtown-area McDonald’s in San Francisco is closing after more than 30 years due to high office building vacancy rates and visitor trends that haven't recovered since the pandemic. The location, bought by the company following the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake and opened in 1994, served as a testing ground for McDonald’s initiatives. Permanently shuttered circa 2022 but McdCo. uses this location as free advertising, saying it’s open when in fact that is a bold faced lie. See my 3 photos: Front entrance, side employee entrance. All covered in hammered in plywood. They lost their customer base, office workers from high rise Embarcadero Towers, Alcoa Bldg, etc. Covid killed the business. 5000 downtown workers gone.

Confirming that this location is closed permanently. The closest OPEN McDonalds is located at 609 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94105. Submitted the edit to Google with photos... which was ignored. Don't go here if you're wanting McDonalds, but there are other nice places around! Hope this helps!

As far as McDonald's restaurants go, this was by far the nicest one I've been to. They have machines to take your order, or you can go up to the front if you'd like. The food came out quickly, and the people you usually see appear pleasant enough.

All Employees there are amazing and the table service is wonderful. You don't have to tip to get good attitude. Everybody is welcome and sitting from businessmen to homeless, such a great place to chill. Today an a**hole customer was giving one of them a hard time and handles it proffessionaly. Keep your crew!
