Google
An overall really smooth flying experience, nice to be at a smaller airport that is so less stressful. Very clean and constantly maintained. Six airlines fly out of this airport with limited departures but all are on time with very attentive staff. I flew in from Denver and am flying out to Denver

Google
Beautiful, clean, gem of an airport! It feels bigger than it actually is- it’s got some great shops and restaurants inside, rocking chairs to sit in while you wait. Definitely a great airport to visit! I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Roberto T.

Google
This is a really beautiful Airport. Growing up and in the future hopefully we would have more options to flight non stop.

Google
McGhee Tyson has always been a great experience. I love Knoxville and the airport has grown so much! I am flying to Utah for a bachelor trip and every flight has been on time and the United Airlines staff has been so accommodating and nice. The TSA pre check was swift and the staff was great there too. Even though I got randomly selected they were great! Recommend flying out of here for sure.

Google
This being such a small airport for semi-national flights, it goes HORRIBLY if something goes wrong. Having this airport only have like 6 commercial gates does not give room for more flights to other places for connections if your flight gets delayed or even cancelled. For example, my flight from here to Dallas, connecting to Phoenix was delayed from 2:07 pm to 7:30 because the pilot simply didn't show up. This caused us to try and scramble to get another connecting flight back home after our 5 day vacation in Knoxville with relatives. Unfortunately, because of the limited flights, our only option was to take the 7:30 flight to Dallas, stay at a hotel overnight, and fly back to Phoenix at 7:15 am. We ended up leaving the airport and coming back for our flight to see that our already late flight was now pushed back another 2 hours to 9:30 pm. Even worse, the TSA closed the gates before our plane even boarded! After an already stressful day, this is not what we needed. Overall, we will not be coming back. We will either fly to Nashville or Atlanta and just drive over. It's not worth the hassle of this crappy airport.

Google
Excellent experience. Enterprise Rent A Car was in a parking garage attached to the McGhee Tyson Airport which was very handy. The staff was friendly & efficient. Trevor helped us return our car within a few minutes. We were very happy with the car we received. We highly recommend this car rental agency.

Google
The airport is kept very tidy, and the staff are extremely professional. The security process is quick, as you don't have to remove your shoes or laptops, which I appreciated. While it is smaller than other airports, its proximity to the Smoky Mountains and Pigeon Forge attracts many tourists. I also liked the rental car pickup and drop-off areas, which are conveniently located near the main entrance and easily accessible by foot. The entrance features stunning waterfalls with both artificial and real plants, making it a great spot for photos. The sound of the waterfalls is soothing and welcoming.

Google
Big enough to get the job done and small enough to be hassle free and awesome. Checked bags come out very fast and this is a clean an efficient airport! VictorB

Yelp
Staff met my mother and I at the gate to take my mom in a wheelchair chair to collect our luggage. Wonderful lady!! Smaller airport under renovation. Looking forward to my next visit! Great customer service!!

Yelp
Small, convenient, and easy to navigate! I recently traveled back to Florida from McGhee, and the experience was a breeze. Dropping off my bags and getting through security was quick and hassle free. The gates are easy to access, with bright, clear signs that are hard to miss. Plus, there are plenty of restrooms throughout, so there were no long lines, always a plus!
google avatar

Victoria E.

Yelp
12 gates and so easy to access from car rental on site. One of the cleanest airports I have visited. The woman's restroom offers a rocking chair and free feminine products. Such a nice touch for those in need.
google avatar

Nikita H.

Yelp
A small quaint airport. Doesn't have very much to do during your downtime. No lounges and not many restaurants and shops. It was a very quick bag check, TSA process and there are about 12 gates or so, so no need to really run to catch your flight. Does what it needs to do. No complaints.
google avatar

Wendy L.

Yelp
Small, barebones airport with very limited food options but overall clean with comfortable seating. No lounges here. There's a Starbucks, Quiznos, Uno pizza, and Ruby Tuesday, so if you want the sit down restaurant option, you have to line up immediately after security.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Nice smaller airport, easy to navigate. Convenient to get to baggage claim and car rentals on first floor. The baggage lady keeps an eye on bags and grabs them to hold if not picked up when next flight arrives. TSA precheck was a little slow because they only have one bag scanner. Bathrooms were clean but do need updating. Overall convenient airport.

Yelp
This is a smaller, regional airport servicing Knoxville. Pretty modern, but a bit smaller than I anticipated. The retail area is anchored by a sad dine-in restaurant, Ruby Tuesdays, and an art installation. Unfortunately, I was flying American so I endured multiple flight delays lasting about 13+ hrs and I spent a lot of time in this airport. The first day I attempted to leave, I and all of my fellow pre-check passengers had our luggage scanned by the x-ray machine twice. When it appeared the agent was separating my luggage for a third scan, I requested a manual check. At that point, our line was moving slower than the general security line. (The next day when I actually left, that machine was cordoned off and not in use.) A highlight were the rocking chairs in different parts of the airport, which I made use of for hours at a time. Serviceable airport for an in-and-out, but not the ideal option for long layovers.

Yelp
Love this airport, love how it's super unique and the brand new design in the terminal. I will be looking forward to flying into this airport in the near future.

Yelp
Very quiet airport.... Although there are still not enough parking places... The employees were Very polite... & very helpful.... We picked up a Turo car at this location......we went on a road trip then brought the back to this location..... and from here flew to New York....

Yelp
We flew from Knoxville to West Palm Beach, FL through a connecting flight to Charlotte, NC. Checking our bags in and going through TSA was a breeze. We arrived about 2.5 hours prior to our scheduled flight since we had to also return a car rental and it took less than an hour to accomplish all three tasks. The airport and restrooms were very clean. There are a variety of shopping stores and restaurants. The waiting areas near the gates were clean, with plenty of space to comfortably sit and wait and plenty of electrical sockets to plug and charge your devices. No one enjoys the airport lines and waiting time but we honestly didn't mind the wait at TYS.
google avatar

Natalie J.

Yelp
This airport is easy to get in and out off. Pre-check line was long, but moved very quickly. The Delta self check-in does not allow you to check a bag yourself you will need to see an agent. This airport is clean and well kept.

Mets R.

Yelp
This is a pretty nice airport. Always very quick to get through. Never flying American again. Those bastards left 15 minutes early without me and I was checked in. I was stranded there and felt Tom Hanks on the set of castaway. I've flown for every airline known to man and havent experienced anything like it. Yes even spirit im cheap and they are actually pretty nice lowkey. I was close to crashing out, luckily, Delly (i think her name was) was an absolute gem and found a flight for me which was only a hour and a half delay. She saved my recent experiences

Yelp
McGhee Tyson Knoxville Airport was okay. It's a smaller airport so no American Airlines lounges. Security was efficient, and there was no line on my trip. While it may not have the sprawling size of larger airports, it makes up for it with a cozy atmosphere and convenience. The dining options were surprisingly good, offering a nice variety for pre-flight meals or snacks. Navigating the airport was a breeze, with clear signage and helpful announcements. Overall, a positive experience that makes flying in and out of Knoxville a hassle-free affair.

Yelp
McGhee-Tyson airport (TYS) is a wonderful facility in East Tennessee for starting, or ending, your travels. They have service of many different airlines and a beautiful terminal. The only negative is that I have trouble with the exit gates on almost every visit. The displays are not bright enough for use during the daytime and they need to switch to 'tap' readers for credit cards. Yesterday, the machine ate my credit card. Follow me on Yelp for more things to see and do in East Tennessee.

Yelp
Good airport! It's small, with just 12 gates, but I love these small airports. I made it through TSA Pre-check in less than 5 minutes and was able to find a seat with an outlet to get some work done on their free wifi. They get an automatic star for working, free wifi! This is something that I feel should be a given at any airport, so when it doesn't work, I get a bit irrationally angry. (Looking at you, SAN.) I had already eaten prior to arriving but the food options seem a little limited to large inter/national chains. I liked the nature/water feature in the main corridor - very peaceful and unique. The rocking chairs at the big window were also a fun touch and nod to the southern vibe. The website lists approximate security wait times as well as parking lot capacity. Overall a smooth experience at TYS!

Amy E.

Yelp
The line was super long they bumped us off the flight this has happened the last 2 times

Yelp
Smallish airport that's fairly easy to navigate. Not a lot of people but not the smallest airport I've been through. Inside was clean and nicely decorated for the holidays. There are a few shops and restaurants inside, but not a huge selection. The parking deck is very expensive at $22 per day. Seriously! Appears they're working on the economy lot parking area and it's currently closed, so the only non-deck parking is quite a ways away if you want a cheaper parking option (bring your walking shoes). Overall it's a fairly easy airport to navigate and get to your gate, but the parking situation leaves a lot to be desired.

Yelp
The only airport in Knoxville is small, and highly efficient. You'll find no chaos or commotion here; it allows for a smooth experience. You can easily get in and out without the hassle of heavy traffic or lengthy TSA and baggage check-in processes.

Lee S.

Yelp
The airport itself should be easy and simple: the up escalator has been broken for weeks. WHY?? I got selected for a random scan; the machine shows something at my ankle. I'm asked if I have anything on it and I respond, "socks." No, what else? I've already answered this so are you just not competent? Then the little indian girl checks me, makes me take my shoes off and runs them through. She doesn't bring them back to me so I sit in this chair waiting for someone to bring me my shoes while she goes to wait on this white lady and puts her shoes on for her? Really? The new scanners suck; the people like stare at the bags; it should be easier, not harder and BTW, if you need bins for these, then they are a bad idea!! A smarter choice would be binless. Then flying American is a treat. They valet check the bags and gives everyone the same color, yellow, which they SHOULD NOT!! I am sitting up front and priority and when does my bag come off, after 35 bags, LAST. Can you so super Incompetent?? Even when there are red and yellow tags, the same genius ground crew doesn't put them up in the correct order. If this is the best you have, put them somewhere else in the world; while this job isn't difficult, it is too much for them

Yelp
Positively the worst small airport I have ever been to. A friend lives in Knoxville so I have to fly in here to visit. I refer to this airport as the "blackhole of airports" because it seems so hard to get out of it and home. This last time? The line for the plane I was taking took forever to deal with people who had low English skill resulting in no one manning the desk. I realize this is an airline issue but it added to the "this will go badly" feeling. The security line is slow and they get thrown when they have to deal with people with limited English. It slows things down badly. At least the people working at the airport are friendly but this needs to be worked on though it is a TSA problem. My first attempt to fly home resulted in the flight being canceled after being on the plane two hours, sitting on runway. The airline took ALL DAY to give us back our luggage and no one told anyone on the plane anything. The lady at the service desk told us she called the airline and they rudely informed her we were in the air. We fought to get our luggage back because, well, we needed it for the night if we were to fly the 5 am flight the next day. My friend was called to pick me back up and since there are few flights into the home airport for me? I had to stay 5 more days in Knoxville. Then, when I was to fly out again there was another long line and they had to hold the plane boarding until someone from our airline showed up to check everyone in. Again with tech problems with our plane...again an airline problem, not the airport. We sat on the ground in the plane for 2 hours again as the tire was replaced. People were having to rebook connecting flights as we sat there. We finally got in the air and I barely made my connecting flight even though I had a 2 hour in between that the tech problems ate into. This airport just seems cursed to me and the people working there seem to have zero communication with airlines flying out of there. I will forever call it the "blackhole of airports."

Yelp
Easy and simple. 12 gates, can't get lost! The food options are very limited. Starbucks, Quiznos, Cinnabon. It's lovely to have a rocking chair near the windows to wait. Clean and nice staff.

Yelp
Super chill Airport! Knoxville Tennessee You won't regret visiting Tennessee!! There's so many attractions and places to visit.

Yelp
So they decided to search my luggage without me present. Removed my TSA lock. Then proceeded to I don't know throw it away. Rifle through my luggage. Did they leave a note inside no. Did they leave everything as found no they did not. I did not notice that my luggage had been opened until I made it to the hotel. Got to the hotel to notice that my lock was removed. All of my stuff was rifled around. And three very important items for my event that I was coming for, we're missing. Called immediately. Guess what the gun on the phone said, sorry you should have checked your luggage before you left the airport... So I guess now you check your luggage, you check it in, then you get your luggage back, and you need to check and make sure everything you put in there is still in there. How do they know I have no idea. I happen to have a photo at 10:00 a.m. of what my luggage looked like. And they still are like nah too bad for you. I'm like I literally put all of these things in my luggage at 10:00 a.m. sealed up my luggage. Came to the airport. Checked my luggage in as is. 10 hours later through the planes and trains and automobiles... Things are missing out of my luggage along with the padlock that was on said luggage. Well domestic flights do not cover missing and or parts of your luggage that have might have been lost. Damage luggage maybe. Missing nope we didn't do it. We did not open your luggage. We did not potentially move two or three things and not put them back. Our bad too bad for you. Worst customer service of any airline I have ever flown with. I'm out over $300 worth of things because of these TSA people and the inability of American airlines to even look for the items that were removed from my luggage. And I can tell you right now every single one of those items has my name on it.

Yelp
This is a small town airport and reminds me a little of Hobby Airport in Houston. At least what Hobby used to look like back in the 60s before Houston blew up and the airport expanded 10 times. A similar pedestrian ramp connects the main building to the terminal building, except it is much prettier and peaceful in Knoxville with the waterfall features. Also, security is before the ramp in Houston, but after the ramp in Knoxville. Once past security and in the terminal building, there is a T where you can walk left to Gates 1-6 or right to Gates 7-12. A sit-down restaurant, Ruby Tuesdays, is at the corner to the left side. The small food court, currently consisting of Starbucks, Quiznos, and Cinnabon, is to the right. Other than that, there is not much else to choose from. Rental cars are in the garage, but at the back of the parking garage. The exit to leave the garage for rental cars is very strange with a narrow road that's junky. Same thing when entering the garage with a rental car. You are required to drive all the way around the airport, past the main entrance then make your way back to the road where you entered just to get to the rental car entrance, where you find a hairpin turn on a narrow road, going down a slight hill to enter the garage. I guess this is their way of making sure you enter the garage slowly. Other than that, it's a nice little airport that's clean and has friendly staff.

Yelp
Nice little airport. Bathrooms are clean and the water bottle refilling station dispenses water at a fast rate. Only negative part is the revolving door near security to exit the airport. Not sure if there is another door but it's pretty inconvenient for those with baby strollers, wheelchairs, or multiple luggages. It took about 8mins to get through that door to leave the airport.
google avatar

Marie S.

Yelp
3.5 stars Smaller airport and easy to navigate around. You drop your checked baggage off at a separate station, rather than the airline counter (or at least that's how it was for United). Enjoyed seeing the "bears" before the security line. The only issue was that there was one line open for TSA pre-check and several open for the regular TSA line, making it a longer wait for those of us who had pre-check. The other thing is that most of the seats are hit and miss for actually having power to the outlets 2023 #74
google avatar

Jared M.

Yelp
All in all, I'd give a 4.5/5 overall when taking the airline-specific experiences out of the equation. You have all the things you'd want out of a city airport without all of the long walks and trams to get it: - ample parking - two floors only in airport, two main halls for all jetways - facilities are generally clean - lost luggage and support areas are usually staffed and helpful - TSA security is doing their thing - some snack and drink options, one restaurant only but still... As a frequent flyer it's safe to say I don't know what I'd do if this wasn't around.

Yelp
Ok so that 3 day vacation went way too fast. My return flight is basically a 180 from my arrival flight. Today my plane starts boarding @ 4:50 am. My mom offered to take me this morning even though I begged her to let me take a car. She said the services run at least $75 now and insisted that she take me. I said that i would be ok if she dropped me off at 11pm and I could sleep a bit here, but she didn't me to be an "Airport Orphan". "Haha" I said so after about a 2 and a half hours I popped up to my alarm and here I am. Compared to the flight from PDX to TYS, my in-laws got me to the airport about 4 hours early. Right now we are standing in line at security. I got here 25 minutes before the TSA arrived and now they are warming up the X-ray machines. I just have a hour before my flight starts to board, so at least I don't have long to wait. Hopefully I won't have to wait another 5 years before I visit my mom again.

Nikhil R.

Yelp
Unfortunately this airport has not adapted in the decades I've been coming here. Their pickup and drop off are the same mess of cars standing still. The inside is still small with the lines for both normal and TSA pre-check customers stretching well past the security lines. Past security, it's a mess of people. So many people and not enough seating. The entire walkway is packed with people standing around for flights. Food selection is terrible. Just a few fast food options and a chain sit-down restaurant. And unfortunately no lounges at all. Would be nice to at least get something compatible with Priority Pass to help alleviate the mass of people.
google avatar

Dave B.

Yelp
Very small airport, 12 gates. But it's clean, well laid out, plenty of signs in the right places. Easy to get around (because it's so small). The couple gift shops have all the things you would think of and need. Good options for food after security. Clean bathrooms. No issues here, happy to travel through here again.

Yelp
I stopped for two seconds to take the anal logic photo while exiting and three TSA agents almost tackled me, one of them almost started crying - great work guys! In the bathroom at the airport in I Knoxville (on the way home), there was a very young kid that couldn't reach the urinal, he stood on his tippy toes trying to reach, but no luck. His grandpa then casually just told him to use other urinal that was the exact same size. In fact all the urinals were the same size. I vaguely remember injuring my crotch area as a very young child trying to pee in a urinal that was too tall for me. I've always preferred the urinals that go to the floor. But now I'm worried about it splashing on my shoes, so maybe not all the way to the floor... Went to a restaurant in the airport and server asked if I wanted tea or coke, not what I wanted to drink. This is very common in the south. They ask this as if there aren't 1 million other options. It had been a decade or two if not more since someone asked that. There's a weird comfort in things staying the same, even if they are a little stupid.

Steve W.

Yelp
I unfortunately have to fly often. I dread every trip back to Knoxville. It's always a different excuse as to why they are not ready when the plane arrives. Even if it's a late flight and their are no other planes unloading. You can expect at least a 20 minute wait. Additionally, multiple times I have sat on the plane for hours awaiting take off. I now drive to Asheville and never have these waits.
google avatar

Lourdes M.

Yelp
A small airport. Easy to maneuver the entire area. Less complication with their security check. Hospitable people. There is not much restaurants choices nor shops. Enjoy what you'll see during a visit. before leaving the terminal either to fly out or depart. The car rental counters are located on same level of the baggage claim. An easy meetup point with the rest of our travel companions.
google avatar

Rob S.

Yelp
Such a horrible airport experience especially for one of the larger coyotes in Tennessee. The folks working here not only look, but act like the cast of Hee-Haw. I'm surprised they've ever seen one of those "flying contraptions". From being way too small for an airport to the incompetence and just general uncare from staff, definitely stay away

Lisa W.

Yelp
I am lost for words ! after picking up the car in Nashville driving back to Knoxville the car was infested with bugs I have bites all over me then the check engine light comes on it was throwing oil everywhere they did not put me in another rental and then charged me for the day of driving it from Nashville to Knoxville mind you the car was in no shape for anyone to drive I have photo of the bugs and the engine and they truly do not care

Yelp
Friday October 14,2022 at 11:15 am I drop off a passenger at the airport drop off. The airport security guard between the age of 65- 70 years old (white man)followed me to the ladies bathroom inside the airport lobby. He said that I needed to move my car, from the passenger drop off and that the airport restrooms are not available for black people. I was afraid for my life, that the airport security guard was going to use his gun on me, for trying to use the ladies restrooms.

Yelp
Small but mighty airport. This is a fairly stress-free airport to get around with young kids...with the exception of the walk to/from the parking lot. If you have young kids or anyone with mobility issues, I would drop them at departures prior to parking. Once you're inside, it is very easy to navigate but smaller staff sometimes means longer wait for security and baggage. I appreciated the closeness of a few shops, small local art displays, clean bathrooms with free water bottle fill station outside, and a few eateries. There are even rocking chairs, big and small, to sit in and look outside at the end of the gate terminal.

frankie s.

Yelp
One coke machine. Coke machine is broken. Only shop sells pepsi. Artwork and rocking chairs are gone. Hard to find charging station.

Yelp
What a nice little airport, I love it. Not that busy, and not that packed during operations. Went through TSA in about 2 minutes. I think the only thing this airport lacks are two things, one is food options and the second are flights. Food is scarce. You either have Ruby Tuesday's, Cinnabon or Starbucks. Sadly no Wendy's, Chick Fil A, etc. Flights are also scarce. You only get 1 or 2 weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale or West Palm Beach and that about it. Everything else needs a connection flight and those are forced through Delta from Knox, to Atlanta then to PBI and that price gouge is about $300 - 400 a ticket. Sometimes in the $500 - 1,000 range. Why not partner with Spirit to offer another flight option? If you love aircraft, the Cirrus Vision Jet operates out of here, so they do a lot of training and test flights out of here. Airport needs some more love in both the food and flight department.
google avatar

Yelp
I like flying out of Knoxville. The airport has 12 gates, is pretty easy to navigate, and has ample parking. The entrance to the secure area is also pretty. It features an indoor mountain stream that adds some tranquility to an otherwise hectic environment. Once inside, they have a Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, Quiznos, and a pizza place. Overall, I think it is a good option for our town. I like that they have Allegiant (cheap/direct flights) and the major carriers. The only downside is that it sometimes costs more to fly from Knoxville and there are less flights.
google avatar

Cole D.

Yelp
Efficient friendly staff. Clean place. Small and easy to catch a flight with not a lot of time needed.

Peter H.

Yelp
This was a great little airport to fly out of when we first moved here in 2018. What an absolute mess now - parking is a disaster, no end in sight and no communication. The city and municipal area have grown and the airport failed to respond early. No logic is being used to foster temporary and long term solutions and the communication with the general public flying is non-existent.
google avatar

J C.

Yelp
Cozy airport. Quick baggage claim. I came downstairs and literally had to run after my luggage because it beat me downstairs to the carousel! Rental car area very convenient and across the airport road which is monitored by crossing guards to ensure pedestrian safety. This is a very good first impression of the city.
google avatar

michelle l.

Yelp
This is a fine smallish airport. It is located a bit south of Knoxville, and it's the closest airport to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The rental car facilities are connected to the airport, and with only 12 gates, everything is walkable. I found the facilities all to be clean and the employees (both TSA and otherwise) to be polite. My only complaint is that the only restaurants and stores are of the national brand variety. Starbucks, Pizzeria Uno, Quiznos. I'd love to see some regional businesses represented.
google avatar

Jim S.

Yelp
This airport is small and clean with very friendly staff. I had a very positive experience flying in and out of the Knoxville airport. The local travelers and people working in the airport showed me the southern hospitality. I look forward to visiting again.
google avatar

Adam S.

Yelp
A miniature airport, but one that is perfectly situated and overall is nicer than my hometown airport in Kansas City. It was incredibly easy on the way in, and just as easy on the way out! It's just so easy to navigate overall, with a little collection of restaurants and souvenir shops in the middle, then a few branched out terminals. It's nice and well-kept. It was so empty on the way through security that they didn't have someone manning the TSA PreCheck, but simply waved me over (and let me in front of the line) from across the main aisle and it worked out fine. I did sort of get turned around looking for the Uber/Lyft pickup area and ended up out in a separate taxi area, but I think that was more user error than airport error. I always look forward to flying into the smaller airports for the ease and convenience, and this one was no exception -- just a 35 minute flight from Atlanta, too.

Yelp
Airports..TYS to be specific. It's not an international airport and it's much smaller than other average airports you've probably visited. The neighborhood international airports are Nashville, TN or Atlanta, GA, otherwise, check which airlines actually comes to TYS. You're best bet would be driving to an International Airport because the flights are much cheaper than flying from TYS to CLT (Charlotte, NC) or TYS to ATL (Atlanta, GA) to get to your destination. I hope the Knoxville airport eventually becomes an international airport because it would be really helpful to save that much of drive and time! STORY TIME! On December 10, 2018, I flew from Baltimore, MD to Knoxville, TN because my sister-in law, my fiancé (at the time) and myself had booked an international ticket to India for December 11th. My fiancé and I decided to flight together for our wedding in India with his sister of course. Flying on American Airlines. We can a connecting flight from Knoxville to Atlanta to London to India. Our flight was at 2pm so we got to the airport at 12 pm. Checked in our bags and went through security. No problem. As we waiting to board on our flight, the delayed announcements came once, then twice. Before we knew it, it was 4pm. They called for boarding, put our bags away and got seated. The pilot comes on the intercom and apologizes for the delay. Okay, whatever, it happens. Let's get going...then they tell us, they are having a hard time turning on, so tells the whole plane to get off. Grabbed our bags and got off. Waited maybe an hour, got boarded us and seated. Same issues. At this point, we were just done. Got off for 30th millionth time. It was 8pm and they finally announced the flight is cancelled. They couldn't tell us this ahead of time, maybe then we couldn't gotten on another flight to save the time. Fortunately, everyone was waiting in line to have their flights re-routed and we were so tired and hungry, we asked and demanded to have a hotel room and shuttle for our inconvenience. They gave us a room and shuttle. We had dinner at TGI Friday's and went to our room to catch up on rest. Our changed flight was now at 5am on Dec 12, 2018. All 3 us were ready by 4am and the shuttle comes. It was a man and all 3 of us had a backpack and a carry-on case. I don't know why but the man refused the last suitcase. He stated "it won't fit" even though, there was space. On top of that, it was a 5-min drive (right across the highway). Because of that, we missed our flight..AGAIN. We were just so pissed off that we had to miss because of this shuttle guy. Finally make it at the airport...after 2 trips. checked in again, and complained to the lady, who kindly rerouted our flights. I don't know if we had bad luck or what. Thankfully, God heard our prayers and we were FINALLY boarded at 9 am flight. This route is going from Knoxville to Philadelphia to Doha to India. OMG WE WERE SO HAPPY THAT WE WERE FINALLY ON THE WAY. We called our families who were already in India and they were so happy. We were the last ones to get there and what an experience!

Yelp
Wonderful facility, never any issues when flying in/out...let me begin with the Amazing Gate Agent at United (Von). As we approached the waiting area for our anticipated flight, we were quickly approached by this gentleman who was so friendly and accommodating, not just to my husband and I, but towards ALL the passengers. We had already checked in online and secured our boarding passes. Von, went out of his way to verify we had all our traveling documents because we were traveling internationally. He even tried to accommodate us with better seats, simply because he wanted us to have a pleasant flying experience (what a nice guy!). Are there still good people in this world, ABSOLUTELY! His demeanor was so refreshing, he addressed each passenger by their last name and wished them safe travels...his communication skills with our fellow foreign passengers were also outstanding and duly noted! McGhee Tyson is a small, but mighty airport, especially with our military personnel who's eyes are always on the skies. Thank you for your sacrifice! If you're flying in/out of the facility on United, I hope you'll get to interact with this exceptional Gate Agent, Von! He's truly amazing to watch...While boarding the flight, I was left with this thought, "how can I become a better individual?" Something we ALL need to think about.
