The Best Sports Bars in Houston

"This multi-level sports bar Downtown is a fantastic place to watch the game, but there’s plenty of fun for those who would rather sit on the sidelines. The various levels boast access to food trucks, table games, arcade games, and an open-air covered patio with swing seating and prime views of the bayou." - Brittany Britto Garley

This place is def a vibe. Daytime is pretty chill. Night time is a vibe. Cool music depending on who’s the DJ that night. Upstairs is another bar, with comfortable seating: chairs, couches, stools, swing seats. They also have games you can play up there as well like connect 4 & a couple of others. 1st floor has a taco truck, swing seats, a bench table, connect 4 and cornhole.

Need a solid place for an event? This is the spot! I am truly so impressed by the staff at McIntyres. Nicole on the Events Team was so professional and always available for questions with no complaints to go the extra mile. The general manager on duty for my event was also incredible! Events can bring lots of stress, but this group does a great job at taking the load off of you. The bartenders also did a phenomenal job and there was hardly any wait for our 50-100 people group. Lastly, the atmosphere here is unmatched! Such a cool place, especially at night! Very clean and dope decor. We received so much great feedback and it’s all thanks to the McIntyres Team! We will be back!

Google
I was there for the holly jolly bar, and the experience was great. Mostly because Charles was the most helpful, friendly and organized staffer. Drinks were creative and servers going to tables to take orders were also GREATLY friendly and quick. Tip: don't sit at the bar, the chances of your order being taken is just lower. The waiters at tables will get you what you need faster.

Google
I appreciate that they play the sound for football games. If you’re going to have 22oz beer mugs, they need to be chilled. The snack truck was good. The top floor with the bar was the only busy floor when I went during the day Saturday. It was nice and has a lot of seating.

Google
Multi-story downtown bar with arcades games While there’s plenty of areas in McIntyre’s to host an event - parking (even paid) is incredibly difficult to accommodate a large group. Also, the first floor and downstairs are open to the outdoors and get pretty hot in the summers.

Google
McIntyre's by the river is a lively, one-of-a-kind bar that offers a stunning view, rotating food trucks, and three floors packed with games and TVs, perfect for a fun-filled night out with friends. The diverse entertainment options, including shuffleboard, and TV sports, cater to all interests, while the friendly staff and delicious, reasonably priced food make for a memorable experience. Don't miss this riverside gem that promises an unforgettable evening for everyone!

Google
What a fun sports bar!! We had a large gathering of friends and the staff at McIntyre's did not disappoint with their quick friendly bar service. The beer selection is good. And the atmosphere is even better.

Google
2 Floors of fun! Didn't get the food...but the spot is spacious... good drinks and good vibes. Oh, free parking on Sundays 👀 good place for a date or team/group meetings

John C.

Yelp
This is a great reason to get downtown. Walk down to the bayou & then go to a great sports bar. The bartender was great. Emani was professional, timely with service, & so pleasant. She should be cloned.

Yelp
We came here for their Holly Jolly event, and we left after 20 mins. They were supposed to give us a welcome cocktail when we got there, and the person handing them out was giving them to everyone but us. We only got one because we asked. When we finally sat down, the waitress asked if we were okay in passing and never stopped to greet us. The place was decorated nicely, but the service was terrible.

Yelp
Man let me say I've been here a few times and never no issue but I come up here for an event here (Holly Jolly) and let me say I have never felt so unwelcome before. Let's just say the even was really really lacking ethnicity. The staff was rude. The bouncer was rude and trying to get a drink took an act of congress. Won't be coming back to this place.

Yelp
I went to McIntyre's Downtown for there Holly Jolly Bar. The drinks were fun and creative and the decor was top notch. Also, each ticket gets you 1 free holiday cocktail!! I've been on regular days as well and the bar is still awesome. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is chill and love th drinks. As with anyplace downtown get there early to take advantage of the street parking but there is a convenient paid parking lot behind the location.

Yelp
Intro: I have been to Mcintyre's Downtown quite a few times now: on a date, with friends, and for happy hour. The original location is in The Heights. Their second location is where Spaghetti Warehouse used to be. Located downtown, they have their own parking lot. With that being said, what's strange about it is that the parking lot has metered parking as you'd find on the street downtown. Make sure to check the signs to see if you're required to pay or not while you're there. Ambiance (4/5): McIntyre's is a large bar. We're talking multiple stories! While their original location is known for its patio, the downtown location is more of an indoor spot though there are some open-air areas. Downstairs, they have a food truck and some bar games. I've always hung out upstairs because this is where the bar is located. There is seating at the bar as well as plenty of tabletop seating and couches. The bar can get busy at peak hours but given that it's a large space, that helps. They also have several TVs if you're trying to watch some sports. Service (4/5): The times that I've been, the bartenders have always been friendly and attentive. Exactly what I'm looking for from a bartender. Even when they're busy, they do a good job of getting to you as quickly as they can. Food (N/A): I have never had any food while at Mcintyre's so I can only comment on the drinks. Drinks (4/5): They have a full bar. You'll find specialty cocktails on the menu here too. Not terribly elaborate but what you'd expect from a casual bar. They also have a happy hour and daily specials which is always a plus in my book. For example, Tito's is on special on Wednesdays. Overall: While not on Main Street, Mcintyre's is within walking distance. If you're bar-hopping in the area, add Mcintyre's to the list, especially if you're with a large group.

Yelp
A few friends and I decided to meet here to watch the A&M v Tennessee football game this past weekend. When we arrived about 2:30P, the downstairs was completely empty so we ventured upstairs to watch. When we got there, we were excited to see they were actually hosting an A&M watch party. There were drink specials going on, a good group of people and the place itself had a fun atmosphere. The bartenders were working hard to get the drink orders out quickly and they were friendly as well. We only ordered drinks but they were all as we expected and tasted good. I'd visit this location again!

Yelp
They have a good selection of games to keep you busy if you're here on a date. Have been here a couple of times with some friends and I've never had a bad experience. Solid service haven't tried any food. The vibes are pretty laid back from what I have experienced. Parking is pretty solid too. Just a littleeee sketch. A little.

Yelp
McIntyre's Houston is a great event space to host large gatherings! Nicole & the amazing staff at McIntyre's made hosting our 10 year high school reunion a breeze. They ambiance is such a fun and inviting space. The service is top notch and I couldn't recommend them enough!

Chantel C.

Yelp
Whether you want to watch a game or play one, they have what you need. This is a huge space full of fun and photo opportunities. They have plenty of seating an attentive staff and overall fun environment. With 3 levels of fun, you're sure to find something you and your group can enjoy.
google avatar

Yelp
See pic. Great fun with random Steeler's fans. They have been bag toss, friendly staff and great slelection of booze.

Yelp
It's a pretty unique and old Houston building and a fun environment. I came here in 100 degree weather so I think some of the un-airconditioned parts which were closed off are technically the balcony and are open when the weather is nicer but the other parts are nice and cool. They have little bar games, friendly staff, and even coffee if you ask for it! They ARE however Card-Only which is a pet peeve of mine.

Alonso M.

Yelp
Cool place but over priced & bar charges a walking fee but I called back to ask about it because I closed out at the bar and it's their "gratitude." Not sure if they've changed it, but just fyi. Also they didn't really have any beer. No Ultras, Modelo's, only can modelo's. For 6 cans it was $42. Unbelievable! Stayed because it was a family birthday there.

Yelp
This was my second time here. It's much more modern compared to the Heights location since it's downtown. The bouncers who check ID are always nice. You'll find a more city crowd of businessmen. I remember eating here when it was Spaghetti Warehouse. It's nice how they've renovated the place. More lighting. Downstairs at the lowest level, you can play table tennis and foosball. An event was happening on the main level, but afterwards, it was open to the public catching the Astros playoffs. The screen is large with lawn chairs, but there's also high and low tables and chairs. I love the random swings everywhere. Upstairs has another bar with more seating and TV screens. I love that they have different trivia nights and singo. I wish I tried their steak night on Thursdays. Next time! The camper on the first floor for concessions wasn't bad. The hot dog comes with a bag of chips. The nachos are great with the jalapeños. I scored a free glass of Crawford Bock before the Astros game. There's valet parking and angled parking up front. I enjoy the city and UHD views. Great place for a date night, hangout with friends, or catch a game.

Yelp
On the fence. I've been going here for a while. I was going through so personal issues and now I'm in a great place. Had horrible service recently and tried to share but was basically chewed out by the manager and was retailed on. If she had an issue with me she should have gone out of her way to tell me not roast me when I'm giving honest feedback. Grow up and have adult conversation when they happen. I would have had respect for you. Seek to understand before you judge. Beer lines need to to be cleaned and beer isn't cold Buy bottle only Happy hour is a great deal and new kitchen servers good food. Their daily specials are great! Wish service would improve. Go but expect to be treat closer to chilis and dick's vs b19 and Perry's Good price value.

Yelp
This place-!!!! You can't beat the location, vibes, and of course the bar! All joking aside, I really enjoyed myself on my first visit. Very low key and laid back with an open air concept complete with swings. Do adults still swing, yes they do! They also like beating people at arcade basketball, which you will find on the 3rd floor which has a nice view of downtown for you to swoon to while sipping on top shelf concoctions. I was even schooled on some new tequila. Everybody knows I love me some Jose Cuervo, but umm the bartender definelty pulled some liquors out his hat and made your girl glazzy eyed lol (btw designated driver that night, so I gladly endulged in the tequila experiment)! If you're not here to drink but socialize and meet up with friends, this place has three levels of spacious gathering areas. Tables, swings, chairs. Sit wherever you like- it's all good. Plus there are plenty of screens to watch your favorite game or celebrate after the locals win or sulk in a bucket of beer after they lose. Very close proximity from at least 2 of the sports stadiums in the area. Plus, there is plenty of street parking options. On a Sunday, my friend was able to park very close to the door and for free. You can't beat that! More pictures on the next go around, but trust me-great location and a Cheers everybodyknowsyourname friendly bar.

Yelp
On my steak night adventures we came across this spot. Steak night is on Tues and Thur. You have a choice of steak, salmon , shrimp. Choice for sides Mac and cheese, cream spinach and grilled elites. Let discuss the location and the ambiance, the location is downtown so you know parking can be a challenge. There is parking out front and a lot next to the building. There are 3 floors to this spot so when you walk in you see varies games and bench table. The 1st has a indoor food truck that serves burgers and other items there are multiple TV's so this spot is great for watching the game of a fun date night. The 3rd level is has the music another, couches and seats. Thurs other than steak night on Thur there is also a musical bingo night. The bartenders on both floors were cool. Getting to the food the steak had a good grill and the was evenly cook. They ran out of Mac and cheese, the grill elote nicely season. The cream spinach was not to my liking very bland and watery. Although Thursday had a few people I'm sure the weekend they get a great crowd.

Yelp
I had a great time. The atmosphere was relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed the live music. The drinks were just okay, they got the job done. They also had food trucks which I won't review as they're a different entity, but just wanted to note food was available. Parking was difficult to find but considering the location, that's to be expected. I ended up just valeting. I went on a Friday evening so it wasn't super packed which I enjoyed. Will definitely return.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Upon entering this place you can see how fun it will be. The amount of games they have for you and sitting area is overwhelming. I took the steps up to the second floor and walked up to the bar. Upon reaching was immediately greeted and the bartender took my order for an old fashion and it's always sunny in Houston. The old fashion was perfectly made! The always sunny in Houston was a sweet and refreshing drink! I played the jenga upstairs and it had multiple games as well as seating. I also saw a connect four adult size game. If you're looking for a place to relax and have some drinks this would be an option. The ambiance would be good for a date night or a group depending on the day you go. I went on a Wednesday and it was pretty empty. I can see it being very busy on the weekend !
google avatar

Allyson W.

Yelp
We came on a Friday night towards the end of the Astros game and once the game ended it got busy. The downstairs is warmer and open but the second floor was were most of the people were and much cooler. They have games to play, plenty of TV's to watch the games and it didn't take long to order drinks at the bars. Definitely a fun place to go if downtown or close by.
google avatar

Hector G.

Yelp
Great place, i didn't make a reservation because I read I couldn't on the website but one of the waiters helped me out and found me a section me and my 20 guest had a great time in celebrating my birthday. Wish I could remember his name I think Jake or Blake. Thanks Mcintyres
google avatar

Simone G.

Yelp
Always get a receipt! I was charged $25 for a single shot of patron, and if that's their price-cool. I then tipped the bartender $10 cash. I didn't print the receipt from the handheld POS machine. I check my transactions the next morning and I had been charged $10.82 also. Doubt I'll ever come back. That's really sad, I feel robbed.

Danijel H.

Yelp
Went there for a final Copa de america and the DJ was blasting Rap music during the halftime after many people complained and asked to watch the halftime shows. No appreciation for all the soccer fans that showed up for the game!

Al C.

Yelp
My wife and I visited McIntyre's Downtown on a Wednesday night. We had the greatest time talking to one of the bartenders, her name was Esteffania. We shared stories about our families, McIntyre's, and life in general. It was a awesome way to start our night out on the town. @Rumplemintz

Jim S.

Yelp
The music was loud. The service was terrible and they forced you to valet park where you stood around for 45 minutes to get your trap car., The place is a shit hole!!!
google avatar

Alexis C.

Yelp
The old Spaghetti Warehouse is now a 3 Level Bar. (Yes they have a elevator) This place is super lovely and lively. Main bar is on the 3rd floor, main entrance is the 2nd floor and the 3 floor is by parking and food trucks.
google avatar

Gloria Emelina M.

Yelp
First timer!! Loved the atmosphere.. plenty of place to sit and hangout. Very clean. Nice spots for pictures. The drink choices were nice. The only thing negative is the music is so loud that you can't hear one another or maybe I'm just old .
google avatar

Shelby D.

Yelp
I've been so excited about this location opening up downtown! Located in the old Spaghetti Warehouse building, McIntyre's Downtown is a fresh new bar to the scene! Multiple levels with plenty of seating and tv's, this is a great spot for an avid sports fan. Great music and drinks! Very similar feel to the McIntyre's in the heights but so much more! Came here to catch the rest of the Astros game, bartenders are very friendly. I guess a bit slow for a week night, I'd love to come back during the weekend when the other floors of the bar are open. Love this place! BTW, TONS of cute places to take pictures and swings!
google avatar

Mike T.

Yelp
Inappropriate music , downtown, but nice beer selection - horrible parking at the old spaghetti warehouse
google avatar

Jose L.

Yelp
First time visiting downtown location & just as the Heights location it is a great after work & weekend chill spot to drop in for drinks & hangout with friends. The ambiance is eclectic & fun, drinks are made well and atmosphere is lively. Since I work downtown this will be added to the drop in for a drink spot.
google avatar

Lawton D.

Yelp
Yelpers, this spot is great. It's easily accessible from the bayou trails, it has ample self parking, valet is 20$ for the whole night. As I figure out single life (is Yelp for dating?) I keep finding myself bringing friends here, it helps that it is dog friendly. If you frequent the walking trails this is a spot for you. I find myself just walking the dog and then the booze calls to me and here and staying for a good time! I removed a star because the music on a Friday night included Ashley Simpson and Nickleback. Unforgivable. I have yet to try the food, it looks like standard pub fare. The buildout of this property is amazing. The amount of work and car put into this historic Houston property deserve a visit. Live music every night per the promoter I spoke to the last few visits I had. I support local music and musicians as much as I can. Finding live jams here every night is a new neighborhood blessing.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. I loved all the decorative art and the swings with the view of the city. The bartenders were so friendly and amazing at recommending places to visit in downtown Houston. It was a slow day for them but they were great with recommending drinks. I ordered some fries and a ranch water which were perfect for the cold weather. I loved the outdoor games they offered because it gave us something to do while drinking. I definitely felt like I was drinking at home. I will totally come back to this place.

Jacque V.

Yelp
It is still very active for paranormal activity! We've frequented the establishment when it was spaghetti warehouse and always heard stories but never witnessed anything. We've visited a few times after it changed to McIntyres and completely forgot about all those stories until last night! My husband and i felt chills through out the night on the top floor but thought nothing of it until later that night when I witnessed the bathroom latch move up and slide over and the door open while in the middle of me cleaning myself! I hurried up to close and lock it again and the latch moved up and slid over once more!! I rushed out of the restroom and told my husband and group of friends, they believed it but they quickly moved on to the next topic. I couldn't get my mind off of what i had just seen so of course I'm looking around being hyper aware of my surroundings when i see a single swing moving! Not one person was around and no one had just left that area, of course my husband and his cousin dare each other to go over there so i grab my phone to take pictures.. orbs or lens flare? Wdyt
google avatar

Mahwish S.

Yelp
Fun spot to come for drinks or to watch a game. Plenty of TVs all around. Usually they have a food truck on site in the back. And games!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Wow - July 2021, newly opened, and this place is packed with happy, vibrant, attractive people. Spread over 3-levels, when I arrived at 5pm on a Saturday it was full! Basement level has one rotating food truck, shuffleboard and other games. Main level has one bar, a music stage, a camping trailer (caravan) selling popcorn, hotdogs, pizza, and plenty of seating. 2nd floor has a large well-staffed bar, an expansive covered patio and the necessary patio swings. The good - great vibe, great crowd, great staff, very reasonable drink prices. I can definitely see this becoming a H-Town favorite to visit before an Astros game. The slightly not so good - the parking is 'interesting'. Your choices are valet, a surface lot immediately next to the building that charges $10 at the weekend ($6 during the week), or street parking and a walk. Aslo, food options are limited, and with hundreds of hungry visitors, bring your patience when ordering food. My advice - go! Aim for Street parking on Commerce St ($2 per hour), and walk a block or two.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
Cool spot, ok beer selection, and the bartenders were semi-responsive. This place felt like it wants to be cool, but it's not quite there. The vibe was mixed, and the crowd age range was great: everyone from young to old. The reason for one star being removed is the music. I'm not an old person, but if the music is so loud that you have to SHOUT your order to the bartender, then the music is too loud. I'll probably not return, there are many other cooler places in the area
google avatar

Chelle N.

Yelp
Stopped by for Sunday fun day around 6 pm. The first floor had two singers with guitars, and was not busy. The second floor was more packed and lively. This place is HUGE, has tons of seating, swings, arcade games, and great drinks.
google avatar

Jimmy M.

Yelp
I like it!!! Great environment with plenty of space and plenty of options for drinks!
google avatar

T. M.

Yelp
Alexa you are so sweet! I really appreciate the conversation & good drinks! (& pizza )
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night and even though there were a lot people, it didn't feel packed; the space is divided between the levels so there's enough room for everyone! The music was good, the service was quick, and the drinks were pricey fairly. Definitely a nice spot to hangout with friends, will be coming back!
google avatar

Hillary E.

Yelp
I frequent the Heights location, and I finally had a chance to check out Downtown McIntyre's. I was surprised to see several parking spots, which is a nice addition to a downtown spot. We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty dead (rodeo season). We tried the "it's always sunny in Houston" cocktail on tap, and it was delicious!
google avatar

Nicole F.

Yelp
Pretend to have a food and drink menu. However they have adopted that silly concept to have a food truck instead. Avoid if you're hungry and go to Karbach brewery.

Linda J.

Yelp
I celebrated my birthday at McIntyre's Downtown! The drinks were on point! The service was amazing!! Once the DJ got started,it was party time! Great vibe, I loved the Photo Booth too! The manager Emani ensured that I had a great birthday experience! THANK YOU Emani! That did not go unnoticed!!! See y'all soon!!!

Fern B.

Yelp
Emani was was awesome we had really great time. The bartenders were great all of our drinks were on point.
google avatar

Ginny R.

Yelp
This is my favorite bar now! Bartenders are super attentive, helpful and friendly. Drinks are delicious but a tad too light. Always a great time.
google avatar

Jordan Z.

Yelp
Came here to watch the Texas A&M versus Alabama game and it was the perfect spot to watch (especially because this is the new official Aggie Watch Bar). The bar is spacious, it isn't too popular yet so it wasn't crowded, and it had plenty of bartenders. I loved the iced Irish coffee. The food options are spare but you can get a hot dog or pizza from the food truck downstairs.
google avatar

William K.

Yelp
No Parking Lot and Checks IDs on a Wednesday. They have a valet for $10 This place is so far away from all the other bars in downtown. I was surprised they didn't have any parking spaces when the bar is so huge. There is no benefit of going out of your way to come to this bar. Also, they put bouncer to deny customers on a Wednesday. Seemed excessive. I would never come to this location.
google avatar

Melanie M.

Yelp
Came across this bar on Tiktok and wanted to try it out. If you're a Houston native, it's located in the building where spaghetti warehouse used to be. It's super nice and new. S as soon as you walk in you're greeted with an abundance of happy colors on the walls. It really makes the difference. You walk in on the middle floor so you have the choice to go down one or go up one. I didn't get a chance to get to the bottom floor, but the top floor was pretty fun. It's super big with a lot of seating and a lot of tv's for sports nights. The music they play is kind of mixed. I heard country music to new hip hop to some older hip hop music. We ordered a It's Always Sunny in Houston, it was pretty good but I wouldn't order it again. Unless you enjoy a strong flavor of champagne, I wouldn't recommend it. Bar watch was my favorite drink. It's basically a spiked raspberry lemonade. We were only there for a couple hours so we didn't really get to explore drinks and food. I'd definitely go again!
google avatar

Henry C.

Yelp
McIntyre's gets 5 stars! It's an amazing bar with great drinks and an awesome atmosphere. Will definitely continue to come here with friends. 0000 stars for the food truck that was there on 7/17/2021, Grub City. They cannot handle this size of a crowd. Our order of a cheeseburger and chicken tenders took 93 minutes! That's ridiculous. I would suggest McIntyre's finds a good trick that can handle this size of a crowd.
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
It's a great spot. However, we haven't seen our hottest weather yet they need to figure out the fan or ac situation. I was there on a Thursday night around 11pm and it was uncomfortably hot. The fans are nice but it's still blowing hot air around. Other than that it's gonna be a fun spot when it gets cooler.
