October 23rd In for dinner/dessert with a good friend. We love the Pumpkin Spice Churro Bites! We had a great time! October 19th Back down to Portland and great food. I had to get another tuna slider yesterday and I tried the Turkey sandwich today... so good! Thanks to Ashlee the best cook ever, waitstaff Caroline, and manager Matt, for a delicious lunch and fun time! October 9th What a great dining experience! Thank you, Jess, for outstanding service! You really made our visit nice. Cook Ashlee, wow! Everything you made came out perfect! We had such a delightful lunch, we came back for dinner! Great location, it was our 1st time in! The staff worked very well together as one big happy team!

McMenamins Mal 205 is a conveniently located restaurant on SE Washington Street overlooking Highway 205. You can see it as you take the exit. There's plenty of parking and the service is excellent. Caroline took care of us today, ready with a smile and checking periodically to be sure our meals were satisfactory. This is the place for lighter fare, burgers, sandwiches and if you're interested, drinks. As we finished our meals, Caroline let us know we were welcome to stay and continue our chat: this is the kind of hospitality that makes customers want to return. Caroline and the other employees clearly enjoy their jobs, which tells me this McMenamins has a great Manager as well. You get the employees you deserve when you manage well, and here, it shows. Nice job, McMenamins

First let me say that I have visited every Mcmenamins location in the passport. Great food, great beers, gorgeous art, and phenomenal architecture. This location stands apart from the rest with because of the staff. With all of their diverse personalities and kind nature I’ve never felt more welcomed than at this pub. They have gone the extra mile to remember my name and my order, often pouring me my favorite brew before I even ask. (Blackberry Cider/Ruby Mix! Aka: Bluby) This level of service and love what keeps me coming back, and honestly is in short supply these days. Thanks again to all the staff! Shout out to Jessica, Keiona, Michelle, Emily, and everyone else (especially the cooks) that I haven’t mentioned. Much Love!

Google
It's a McMenamins. You can expect pretty much the same quality food and beer there and it's typically above average. Staff is very kind and friendly. Not every location be a unique wonderland and this one is very much a strip mall location. Not bad if you want the delicious food and don't mind not having the charm of an odd building.

Google
Good beer but the food was just OK. Really good service. Waiter was fun to joke around with. Atmosphere was good. Private table for 4 with lots of elbow room.

My friend’s tuna melt had to be sent back. My fish and chips w/tots (bad choice) were grease bombs. Service was great but I’m not in a hurry to go back.

Google
We got our dinner to go tonight thinking it would be as good as eating in the restaurant. We were sorely disappointed. My Hammerhead garden burger was such a disappointment from previous visits. It was dry, the bun was burnt & the lettuce was brown. Luckily my husbands fish & chips were “as expected”. I will be hesitant to go back.

Google
The worse bloody Mary I've ever had and I have 4 others with me that say the same. The Scooby snaps were sooooo over done that some jumped out of the breading that just crumbled off and they burnt the grease in the fryer cause that's all you could taste was burnt grease. The pretzel sticks were the same, overdone. Waitress hasn't checked on us since she dropped off the appetizers over 45 minutes ago. Dropped off empty ketchup bottle. Shez, I've never had bad service, bad food , and a terrible bloody Mary at a Mcminimums ever but they have managed to check all the boxes. We canceled our food order and took the bill and left. Need some help here for sure.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick lunch and overall it was just fine. Food was good, it was as expected. Not fantastic, not bad. We were seated quickly but the service was just alright. The waitress seemed slightly annoyed to be there, it was a little hard to tell. The vibe was slightly off. Overall not the worst, not the best. Just meh.

Yelp
I stopped in here with my friend after a long day in Portland. We went specifically for the chicken strips, as my friend loves them and I wanted to try them. I got the chicken strips and they were pretty good - crispy, good seasoning, and well-cooked. The fries that I got with them were pretty good too. I didn't try the coleslaw as I'm not a fan of coleslaw to begin with. My friend got the fish and chips and said they were good. Our server was pretty nice, but seemed a bit distracted so we didn't see her a whole lot. We got a table immediately upon arriving and our food came pretty quickly. It was a Sunday afternoon around 1pm and there weren't a lot of people in the restaurant, despite it's seemingly prime location in a shopping center with lots of parking. Since there weren't a lot of people there it was pretty quiet, but I can imagine when it's more full it can get pretty loud.

Kirstin R.

Yelp
Don't know if they closed early due to staff or what but the doors were locked and staff was still inside closing for the night 35 minutes before posted closing. We were not looking to get food we were just here for a quick stamp and we'd be out of their hair. Honestly pretty upset considering we are down in the Portland area only for a couple days coming from Olympia, WA. So because they decided they wanted to close over half an hour early we missed our opportunity trying to cram these stamp locations in.

Yelp
This is a solid McMenamins location, I enjoy coming here with my partner and for happy hour and the food is always consistent and delicious. The servers are always super nice and it has that classic McMenamins aesthetic and ambiance.

Yelp
Service was great with no problems. Best burger i ever had and I'll save you the trouble of making that decision, get the tater tots!

Yelp
I popped in yesterday for the first time between errands. I was greeted immediately and shown to a table. The person who seated me was also my waiter. He was friendly, helpful and attentive but not overly so. I had a great little solo lunch and would be back in a heartbeat! Bonus points for an actual parking lot.

Yelp
Sat at the bar tonight for more than a half hour with no contact from wait staff. Had ordered a sandwich in and a sandwich to go. Had the in sandwich. To go sandwich was never ordered from waitress. No water. Beer was empty. This restaurant is in my neighborhood and the service has been really bad every time. I am done with McMenamins. I will never go back. Zero stars. And I do not recommend.

Yelp
Dismal service. Mediocre food. This place always disappoints. I rarely come here unless I'm with a friend. Despite having at least 6 people 3 feet in front of me my drink sat empty for at least ten minutes we finally had to flag someone down. The servers here just don't care. No other explanation. Avoid this place.

Yelp
This Mcmenamins is NOT like the rest. BAD vibes and BAD service. I've had the pleasure of visiting multiple locations and this one is the worst. It's obviously not a good work environment/culture here and the customer suffers.

Yelp
They were shortstaffed and behind on everything at this restaurant, the one person walking around, taking orders and greeting people at the door was smug and indifferent they put forth an attitude saying they only cared about what they were working on at the time and couldn't care less that I was waiting for my order. I was honestly pretty interested in checking out McMenamins but after this experience, I have zero desire to ever set foot in one for either a delivery or for myself. Delivery drivers cater to your customers and are themselves also customers you should treat them with some respect. For the record it was the person with pink hair if, I doubt, anyone should care to do something about the attitude.

Yelp
Beat the lunch rush before noon. Waitress was attentive to our order right away. We shared our meal and devoured the must have Cajun tots. They came out hot! Chicken Gyro was nicely split with big chunks of chicken. lentil and chowder soups of day made it a perfect meal on a rainy day. Glad we stopped in! We'll be back again for some drinks!

Yelp
I am pretty sure that the picture of the super delicious cheeseburger says it all. Take a look at the photo I posted from this restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries that I had at McMenamins. This visit was actually my first time at a McMenamin's ever! Apparently, their franchise is well known over the Pacific Northwest. I've heard about locations of theirs where they refurbish old schools. I could be totally butchering this but I'm telling you what I heard. I also heard they have a secret club that you join after you've been to every location. Send me a message or comment on this post if anything I'm saying is true. So back to the food. Absolutely delicious and I will be back again. Specifically, I thought the bun was well prepared. If you read any of my reviews you definitely know that I am a bread person. Also known as a bread head. The bun was delicious it was the perfect amount of toasty and the perfect amount of fluffy and fresh. The burger patty was a nice size and cooked just the way I wanted it with a tinge of pink in the middle. The burger patty wasn't dry at all. All of the condiments that went with the burger were perfectly prepared and fresh. This is an upgrade from red Robin. The drinks looked amazing, however, my first visit was a work-trip situation so I couldn't really Dabble in the rivers of the McMenamin's alcohol beverage situation. But hey that's what next time is for.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick dinner. Sat at the bar and had a great time chatting with Gregory. The BLT with egg was everything I'd hoped for and the French dip my girlfriend got didn't disappoint. The staff is friendly and efficient. Props to Gregory for a fun dining experience. Dessert looked amazing but we couldn't bring ourselves to get one. Next time!

Yelp
Went in for my stamp and they were very helpful and didn't complain about just a getting a drink. Staff was friendly and nice location.

Yelp
Use to visit here frequently but service went way down. Tried to give it another go today and ended up walking out. There was someone asleep head down in a booth. And then when they were joined by another person in their party with a dog in tow....we left. Unacceptable to allow non service dogs. And the place is not very clean...sticky tables, carpet and walls. Just gross. Plus the staff is not very friendly anymore. This visit we were not greeted or even acknowledged.

Yelp
Great service and great food. My mom and I visited on Christmas Eve and the staff was very friendly and the food came out quickly. I would definitely go back.

Yelp
Not bad for a strip-mall mcmenamins. Good beer as always but the food was meh. Burger was good but sloppy and the BLTA had more aioli than anything else.

Yelp
On Veterans day Friday November 11, 2022 a few friends and myself decided to gather here for lunch and we were not disappointed in the food or service! I tried the beef gyros and it was very good. 4 stars ****!

Yelp
I came in here last night with my in-laws for dinner. I had never tried this one, although I see a couple of my friends checking in to this particular location on Facebook fairly often. So I was kind of excited to try this one. We came in a little later in the evening and on a Tuesday, so they weren't terribly busy. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waiter (I don't know his name, as he didn't introduce himself) came to take drink orders and kind of go over the menu with us. He came and checked on us at the proper intervals, no problems, refilled my father in-laws soda without having to be asked. All the things that make a good waiter for me. The thing I noticed about their specialty menu was there was nothing exciting on it. I went to another McMenamins recently and I found a couple things I really wanted to try, and I did order one. I was really excited to try it. I didn't feel like that about the dinner specials here. They just seemed bland and boring. My mother in-law and I both had burgers, and my father in-law had a gyro. I ordered the Wilbur's Deluxe burger. I ordered it medium-rare with extra pickles. It comes with a fried egg on it, which is my new favorite thing. I've come to love eggs on burgers. Except, my egg was over done. Not the end of the world, but didn't make the burger exceptional either. It was cooked correctly though, which is a big deal in my book. My mother in-law ordered a regular cheeseburger, cooked medium-well. She was quite happy with it. My father in-laws gyro is like his go-to meal at McMenamins. He loves it and raves about it. Apparently me having never tried one makes me some sort of alien in his mind. Lol. So my next meal at any McMenamins needs to be a gyro just for him. The restaurant doesn't look all that big, but has a relaxed feel to it. It's definitely not my favorite, but it wasn't a bad experience by any near means. My mother in-law has much the same opinion. None of the food stands out to either of us, but she loves it because it's the one where she is the most comfortable and appreciates the atmosphere. Would I return? Yes, because it was overall a good experience. But nothing stood out to make it four or five stars. It wasn't memorable for me at all. Not being memorable and the egg over cooked on my burger are my big complaints, which isn't really that much. So it's a solid three stars. Review 39 of 2017.

Yelp
Food is bland and was served almost room temperature. Too expensive for what you got, and understaffed with only one waitress.

Yelp
Ron and I needed to return a shirt he had received as a birthday gift. The nearest Target store to his house was at Mall 205, so we went there. I helped him pick out a different shirt and some socks that he needed. We began talking about where to go for dinner. The lights in the top of our heads went off and we both said "Mcmenamins." Mcmenamins is a chain of Oregon pubs with outlets all over Oregon and Southwest Washington. Some are quite grand and have hotels along with the pub. The outlet we went to was fairly modestly small. We grabbed a table after checking in with the manager. I immediately ordered a pint of Ruby Ale and Ron ordered a taster sampling tray of six smaller glasses of their beers, etc. It was a hot day outside and boy were our beverages refreshing and cold. We then ordered dinner: a burger for me with fresh Blue cheese on it, and Ron had quite a large tuna grill. We both had tater tots. I think Mcmenamins has been around since the late 1970s. The company was started by brothers and their first taste of fame came from their brewery. I believe they might have been one of the first ones in the Pacific Northwest who helped bring along the popularity of beer starting in the late seventies There have been bumps along the way. I really did not like going to any of the McMenamin outlets because of their often surly customer service. But that has changed drastically over the years. Ron and I received royal customer service last night and all our requests were attended to correctly and in a very friendly manner. Kudos to Mcmenamins for all the great changes they have made. Long may your flags wave!

Yelp
Just left here after waiting 15min. To be seated... they said it would take some time to clear some tables... we watched them clean two tables... people continuing to leave... tables continued to clear. We were the only people waiting for a table... after waiting some time to be seated in one of the two open tables. People just kept walking by us and taking orders. Chatting with each other. And then the lady who told us we had to wait, went out on break. It's A No For Us, on this location. Looks like this has a happened to more than a few people, more than a few times.
google avatar

Yelp
We have eaten at this restaurant for years but not since Covid Outdoor only. I called to make sure they had heaters and they said yes plenty of heaters. We waited 45 minutes, finally sat us at a table at the edge near the door with no heater that was available when we had walked in earlier. It might be better served if during Covid they limited the time people sat at a table to free up the three tables they have with heaters nothing else is provided under the tent. we had a good time in spite of the chill but frankly the food and service was not up to pre-covid standards.

Yelp
I hope Mcmenamins removes their name from this location. If I could leave a zero star in here, I would. So far all of Mcmenamins staff we've met are super nice and have wonderful service. This one is not like a Mcmenamins. When me and my husband walked in, nobody noticed us at all, after waiting twenty mins, I walked to the bar and talked to the lady, trying to get us a seat. She looked at me and said, "we will be with you. " with a rude tone, like I shouldn't even be there. Later on, we finally had our seat, and after another 15 mins, nobody stopped by asked us for an order or even give us a glass of water. We don't mind waiting anywhere we go, but I cannot stand rude (or nonexistent) service. We got our stamps and left.

Yelp
Waitress was only one in the restaurant running her section up front. I was very impressed by her. Even though she was busy she treated us like royalty! We had tea and she even warmed his cup, talk about service! I got a strawberry lemonade and she immediately offered me a refill but I didn't need one but her attention to detail was stellar. We both got the captain neon burgers with fries for my friend and tots for me and she remembered our ranch. We both had ice cream one with caramel and other with chocolate percher suggestion. Both came with spoons and an extra napkin. With the shortage of workers and with her going the extra mile she deserves a raise. Thank you for making our day brighter. Our meal was perfect.

Yelp
Happy Hour was awesome. First time at this location and I had a hankering for a good burger. I was not disappointed. Great quality of beef, a bit under seasoned. You don't want your burger to taste like burger. If they had a dusting of seasoning on the patty and more of a char-grilled flavor and a softer bun, it would have been perfect. The bun was damn near perfect had it not been so easily torn just by picking up the burger. The bun was toasted perfectly on the inside. And it's a great bun, just a bit too sensitive to touch. The lettuce appeared to be butter lettuce. We substituted the cheddar for Swiss. The tomato was runny, but I wouldn't have minded it had the bun not been so vulnerable. The tots were prepared perfectly. Crisp, hot inside and fried right. I had my plain without the Cajun seasoning. My man had the Cajun tots. He says the Cajun seasoning should have been fried on the tots, rather than dusted, would have been less aggressive. Our server Megan, was welcoming, and attentive. She checked in on us early and often. Explained the sampling order of beers. Met our every whim before we even asked: extra napkins, Portland ketchup for the tots, even though the tots were served with a wonderful ranch dressing. A real ranch, seasoned and thick, and yummy. Forgot the sampling we did but we took a few photos with our beers next to each description. Happy hour in this dimly lit, booth filled bar is inviting. Last ditch effort of class prior to anything East of it. I will be a regular for when my burger craving rears it's head. Can kick myself for not giving this place a chance because of my own preconceived notions. Damn good burger, beer, and bar. What more can you ask for? Happy hour: 3-6

Yelp
My family likes to come here. It's close, and the kids have fun. Service is good, for a McMenamins. I have always like McMenamins. All of them. Actually, if I were to vote for best hamburger, it would be the "Wilbur Burger". The fried egg makes it.
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
The stars are just for the beer. The food is beyond boring. I had the pub salad and I ask for thousand island dressing and was told they didn't have that but some crap dressing called Mystic , it was awful, I didn't eat the salad, the waitress blamed the vegan mayonnaise, it's awful and I won't eat at any of their restaurants. The up side is I didn't have to pay for it.
google avatar

Jacob D.

Yelp
2 times in a row now our family has tried to visit and left before even seated. This time I could count more unbussed tables than tables with actual customers. The group ahead of us left as well. We have been here plenty of times before and never really had good service. Only reason we come back is it's close and we love the hummus plate. I guess we'll have to find a new place to get hummus, cause we won't be back here again.

Yelp
A vegetarian meal perspective. Friday night at 8:30 we arrived. We waited about fifteen minutes or so to be seated in a booth. Our table waiter was friendly and very helpful. My date had the Jamaican bowl and a pint of Skeletor beer, while I tried the Queen Anne sandwich and the Oatmeal Guy pale ale. My date said her bowl was wonderfully sweet & spicy, and afterwards that she would definitely order it again. Her beer choice was a good contrast to the spiciness because it was hoppy. My sandwich was really good with smoked mozzarella, tomatoes and pesto on sliced toasted rustic bread. Basically a fancy grilled cheese sandwich on steroids. My tots were perfect, crispy on the outside soft and tender on the inside. I would order this sandwich again, but I was a bit disappointed in my beer choice and would opt for another one of their yummy beers. Our waiter was excellent and at times chatty. Our only complaint for this evening's outing was that the kitchen was slower than usual in getting our food to the booth, all things considered, like it was a Friday night and all. Yes, we'll be back.

Yelp
Seated promptly, order was taken fairly quickly. But then it took over 40mins to get our food, the people that came after us got their food before us. Not once did they say oh sorry your food is taking so long let me go check on it. Never been to a McMenamins this bad before.

Jill L.

Yelp
Service was ok but ran a little slow. Had a dispute over the total price of bill and asked about it. The so called Manager said "You don't have to be so rude''. Really? Asking about the bill is being rude? In the end, we paid full bill. My friend was so upset with how she was treated, that she had tears forming in her eyes and left totally embarrassed from the whole thing. When I asked the Managers name, she wouldn't give it to me. She needs to realize that customer service is needed and not her snarky remarks. Needless to say, All 4 of us will never go into that place again. Update: The two employees we dealt with have reached out to me on this Yelp post to harass me. You definitely do not belong in any customer service position. Update: Heard back from the Manager, Not a good response. I am sorry that you did not have a positive experiences at our Mall 205 location. I have had an opportunity to speak the management at the location as well as the employees who were working at the time. The employee's version of events are quite different than yours. You should know that we received several complaints from other customers in the restaurant at the time about your group's behavior. I realize that you will probably not agree with this, but I do not believe any of our employees acted inappropriately on the night in question. I did see your update on your yelp review about employees harassing you via yelp. Do you have a screen shot that you could send me from that interaction? My response: Thank you for your response Rachel. Of course their versions are different. I am a 62 year old woman who has no reason to cause problems. I don't usually leave bad remarks just to have fun. One of the other Ladies that was with me that night also responded: Wow!!!! Just sad that the Manager and others said lies about us. That sure does not help the business at Mall 205 because the Manager there will not get the help she needs for customer service. Also we are 62 year old women that just wanted what happened to us not happen again. Sure is very sad because I can truly say fast food places, McDonald's etc... and Small businesses that I have been in treat myself and others way better then McMenamin's at Mall 205. I've seen other reviews about them that were not great at all this last month or so. Do not understand why the General manager can not see the pattern.

Yelp
I visited on a community school fundraiser night so it was expected that things would be busier. For a 6 person table, it took about 40 minutes to get our food (not horrible, but not great by Mcmenamins standards) and one burger was missing, being shared by 2 out of the 5 people. Our waitress checked and realized she forgot to put the order in and apologized profusely but said it would take about 20 more minutes for that one burger. While we ate and shared our Cajun tots, 20 minutes came and went. Our waitress came by and regrettably said the food was not yet ready and offered to make it to go since it was clear that we were ready to go. I believe this burger was comp'd from this couples' check but it was a bummer, since the funds were going towards an elementary school! Our server did what she could to fix the error but the restaurant seemed overly slammed, knowing an event was on the docket for this night. It was disappointing, especially for a fundraising event.

Yelp
Fantastic staff and a great vibe overall. We were helped swiftly and our food came out after a few minutes of ordering, super helpful and quick:)

Yelp
We were a party of 4 adults and an infant. We were served quickly and efficiently. As always the food was excellent and the beer as expected.

Yelp
Normally love McMenamins, ambience is awesome, food is tasty, and service is good. Not here. Sat down. Ordered one drink and despite having another person sit down - no one came back to check on us, ask if we wanted food, or take his drink order for over 45 mins. Pretty disappointing being long time customers.

Yelp
Clam chowder was killer, beer was good, I got the turkey dip sandwich and that was really good too!

Yelp
We had called a week ahead to alert the establishment that we would have a 15 person party midday (1pm) on a Saturday in order to make sure they had enough time to staff properly. I had heard they tend to be slow. I confirmed the morning of. When we arrived the tables were arranged correctly. Our crew trickled in by 1:10pm. We waited 30 minutes before orders were taken. 40 before drinks were supplied. 1 hour before the first people in our crew were served (who cleverly asked for their order boxed to-go as they had other things to do). Food kept coming out in 15-20 minute increments. By the time the last person was served, everyone had finished their meals (including the ever-unfocused 4 year old). The last person to be served had to ask for their order again. It had been neglected to be relayed to the kitchen. I was so irritated that they would serve one-two plates at a time. It made for such an awkward dining experience. Have you ever seen one child be fed while their sibling has to wait another 20 minutes? It's chaos. In addition to the slow serving time, drinks were refilled 1x in the 3 hours we were there. The food was middling. My salad was fine - don't know why it took 40 minutes... but it's pub food. Didn't blow my mind, but also was fully cooked and spit free. If you're in the area - I'd suggest hopping across the parking lot to Portland Seafood Company or any other dining establishments that line the parking lot.

Yelp
Oh, McMenamins at Mall 205...why is our relationship so on again/off again? My husband and I recently came back to our neighborhood McMenamins to grab some lunch. The place was pretty busy, but we weren't kept waiting for very long (maybe seven or eight minutes, tops). The server was friendly and attentive. She was easily the best part of this most recent visit, which I can best describe as "surprising." The first surprise happened when I tried to order a diet soda and was told they only serve RC products now. I don't know how many of you Gallant Readers of Yelp Posts have tried to drink Diet RC, but the experience is best described as a Diet Coke left out on a blazingly hot day until it is almost devoid of carbonation and flavor, then served on ice. No thanks. It's also frequently a sign of a business becoming "penny wise and dollar foolish." My husband ordered a burger and fries, while I went with the fish and chips, which is usually a very good meal there. Our next surprise: the bathroom doors are now locked with a keypad. My husband had to track down a server to find out the code during a lunch rush. This is a fairly good neighborhood, with a police station nearby, so this was a bit puzzling. My husband worked at a restaurant just blocks away, and they never felt the need to lock up the bathrooms. We had a longer wait to get our food than usual, but this was only to be expected when a place is so busy. However, when our meals finally arrived, they were hardly worth the wait. The burger my husband ordered was tasty--a perfect medium--and he really enjoyed it. But the fries were very, very salty. He likes salt, but these were over-the-top salty. But the biggest surprise was my meal. Instead of the fish and chips I ordered, I was served...chicken strips and tater tots. But somehow, still with the coleslaw and lemon wedge that comes with the fish and chips. The server apologized for the weird mixup as she served it, so she knew it was wrong but still brought it out to me and served it before asking if it was a problem. No big deal, right? Not to mention that we really didn't have the time to wait for a whole new order, as the place was only getting busier. So I decided to take it in stride. Then I ate the food. Or tried to, anyway. Like my husband's fries, the tots were incredibly salty. They were also cold, and many were hard. The chicken was lukewarm, salty, and smaller than what they usually serve. They looked like something off of a kid's menu. The coleslaw tasted sour. I couldn't even swallow the one bite I took. My taste buds simply decided upon impact they didn't want to chance a war with my stomach they surely couldn't win. I'm not sure if these are issues with new management, or with corporate, or if it was simply a bad day. I will give them another chance, and cross my fingers there are no more "surprises." The two stars are for my husband's burger and the nice server.

Yelp
Delicious food! Lovely server. Blackberry cider was delightful. Don't let the strip mall setting fool you. This is a top notch restaurant.

Yelp
Who doesn't love McMenamins? It's everyone favorite dirt little secret. McMenamins (,ny McMenamins) always delivers great food and drinks. Usually great service too... Not so much here though. I wish they would have offered me a bib to protect my clothing before the waitress fed me her huge pile of bull crap! I understand people make mistakes and I can accept that, but don't lie to me. Just tell me you made a mistake and that is what the hold up is. We're human after all. We ordered our appetizer and meals at the same time. It took quite a while for the appetizer to come. Now we wait, and wait, I grew a beard, and we waited some more. Then people in the booth behind us, who ordered AFTER us, got their appetizer. Soon they had their dinner too. A hungry Jimbo is an angry Jimbo. The waitress then stops by and asks if we need anything. I replied "My food." She gives me a line of crap about how we're next and walks away. She checks with the kitchen and comes back to offer me another serving of bulls turds, by telling me that we put in our order AFTER the large party of 8 put in theirs, but now the kitchen is free and we should have our food soon. LIES!!!!! All lies. Was our food next out of the kitchen? HELL NO! It was the OTHER tables food. The other table that sat across from us, that sat down and order after the table behind us ordered. Now the waitress comes back by and apologizes for the wait and asked if we want refills on our root beers. Free of course... because she "can do that". We decline. I didn't want her free refill of lies. Our food comes. Its good. Standard McMenamins' food. Not much else to say about it. We ask for a check and a manager. I explain to him about our waitress' poor service, and her feeding us a line of crap about why our food took so long. He joked about a line of crap not being on the menu, but his humor fell on an angry Jimbo's deaf ears. He took off our drinks and appetizer like any good manger. We paid and left. Still a little angry, but much better than if I wouldn't have talked to him. McMenamins is good. 4 stars good. I wouldn't let one bad experience with a waitress steel a star away from them.

Yelp
This McMenamins is a pretty average McMenamins. Similar to all the others, but a little less special due to its location in a strip mall. It doesn't seem to bring the ambiance that a Kennedy School or St. John's Pub seem to bring. The food is very typical of the McMenamins style food with a slight variety on the menu. It has a large bar which I'm excited to get to know a little better, and I think that's the portion of the restaurant that brings the best personality to the place.

Yelp
Fantastic food and beer. The service was prompt, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the Jamaican Bowl; all the flavors went together beautifully and you can't go wrong with a shared pitcher of Terminator Stout. The atmosphere is the same you've come to expect at their other establishments.

Yelp
Once upon a time in a pre-college year era friends and I would gather at this McMenamins spot. It is close by our neighborhood and the food was service was consistent at one point. It was also my first drunk experience with one pitcher of Ruby after another during my college graduation party. Times have changed; certainly not for the better. I had relatives visiting and I told them all about the happy hour and the delicious brews they offered. So we decided to go there for dinner a while back and honestly it was not a great one at all. We did get seated right away and mind ya it was also on a Monday. Turned out at that time they only had happy hour at night so already I was given dirty looks by my family. We did have a server who I thought at one point was pretty good. I was certainly mistaken. She took forever with the drinks and food took even longer to come out. Turns out we had different server helping us out without us being acknowledged. The food was pretty good despite the long delays and service did slowly pick up. I felt embarrassed since I once praised this location a long time ago. This location does not have any true significance either, just the name by itself. Stick with the true authentic locations, you are certainly better off.

Yelp
It was a pretty crappy spot. I felt greasy after sitting at the bar for 2 minutes. And its a mcmenamins, so beers are $100 a pint... Greasy food, not the coolest place... great last resort if burger king is busy

Yelp
Your typical McMenamins, but smaller and more limited. I stopped here because it was on my way home from work. I came back because of the great level of service. When I walk in, any one of three bartenders will already be drawing up my beer of choice. I admit it; I like that. Their food menu is somewhat limited for happy hour, but it's about what you'd expect. A cheap burger, cheap hotdog, some other options like that. The hotdog is pretty damn good, though, and quite large. Cajun tots are always a plus. No historical stuff here, no grand, sweeping views. It would just be another bar and grill, but the quality of the beer is somewhat higher, and there you go.

Yelp
Worst customer service. Every time we go in the the waitresses are rude and service is so slow. There are two gals in particular who always act as you're an inconvenience and they are put out that you are coming in to order. They shouldn't be representing Mcmennamins as they are don't deliver the service all the other Mcmennamins do.

Yelp
The food was OK, service was terrible! Took 90 minutes to get our food. I asked if it was almost ready since we had been waiting for over an hour and our waiters answer was "it'll be up sometime". No apologies for long wait, no offer of appetizers, and no discount on our bill. Completely unacceptable! Would not recommend to anyone
