I met up with the Italiano group at McMenamins in Lower Queen for dinner and conversation. We have lots of fun eating, drinking and talking in Italian. I had the Aztec salad consisting of romaine lettuce, corn & black bean salsa, avocado, tortilla strips, cheddar cheese, tomato, jalapeño, cilantro, onion and chipotle dressing. It was great with a perfect mixture of ingredients and spiciness. I like enough heat to be able to feel it! Haha. The service was good, as was the atmosphere. The decorations in the restaurant were amazing. I would like to return to take a closer look at the art.

Pretty delicious burgers and ciders! Came here at 7pm on a Sunday and it was easy to get a table and a good meal. The prices are a little high but they are on par with most restaurants in the area, so expected. Their cider flight was great for the price and the flavors were delicious according to other guests in my party! The atmosphere is pretty neat with a lot of unique paintings/murals around the place. They offered an okay gluten free experience with gluten free buns and salad dressings. But to note, although they have a separate fryer, there cross contamination risks from the manufacturer of the fries and tots. However it was well communicated and accounted for!

Google
This review is based solely on their Cajun tater tots- NEVER in my life have I had such a CRISP tater tot. Never EVER in my life have I had such a crisp tater tot THAT MAINTAINED ITS CRISPYNESS despite refrigeration AND microwaving. I am absolutely amazed. Maybe it’s a fluke, maybe it’s sorcery, who knows, but I will remember these tots for the rest of my life. Well done

Google
Prices are incredible high in this restaurant. Snacks are expensive even in happy hour. The cheapest one was a soup and it was $10. We got cocktails; they seemed very good in the pictures, which is why I chose this spot for drinks, but in fact they appear different, and the flavor of both was very disappointing. I ordered the cocktail called Pink Lady, and the Mocha Martini, the first one just not looked like soap, it tasted like that. The second one was also poor value for the money. Cajun Tots $12 were really greasy. The service was okay.

A friend and I came at 5:45pm before going to a 7pm stand-up show. We were able to get our food and drinks quickly. The Korean fried chicken sandwich with tots was so good!

Had lunch here on our way to the opera. It was our first stop at this McMenamins’s. We had great service and our food was delicious. My wife ordered the African peanut chicken soup and loved it. When it first came to our table it was not as warm as she felt it should be and our server immediately took it back and returned with it a the perfect temperature. I had half an Aztec salad with crispy chicken added. Yummy for sure and I took half of it home with me.

Google
Ordered fish and chips, pulled pork sandwich and two glasses of wine. The fish was lightly breaded but very crisp. The pulled pork sandwich was exceptionally good. Total was $94 with tip. Nice bistro atmosphere however a little expensive.

Google
It's definitely one of the most unique places to visit. It's great to sit and soak up all the decorations and painting. The beer selection is nice, and the food is great, but make sure to get the garlic tots for sure.

Yelp
We stopped in hoping to get the shoestring fries they had a decade ago in the Portland locations...and unfortunately they don't anymore. However, due to the great service, and all the other good food we still had a good time. We had three starving kids so we started with fries which were meh, and tater tots, which were good. More than anything our server took our appetizer and main orders simultaneously so we got food shortly after we finished the fries and kept the kids happy. The kids loved their cheeseburgers and grilled cheese so already a win. We liked tour fish and chips, and pub green salad with chicken and no onions. Still sad about the fries, but the experience was great and saved the afternoon.

Yelp
Stopped by with some friends lately for a drink. Early in the evening and the place was not busy. We got sat quickly and the waitress took our order. Food and drinks came quickly. Had the Cajun tots and they where ok. Drinks where ok, not great. The décor is fun as all McMenamins is. Very eclectic. The reason for the 2 stars happened after we got our food and drinks. The waitress informed us she was off shift and needed to cash us out. We planned on ordering more food and drink but she insisted. We paid and then promptly where forgotten by the staff of the restaurant. No one came to check on us, or take another order. We sat for a while and watched other tables get service. Seems for a place that is not very busy they would want to help customers order more. With the plethora of choices in this area I really doubt I'll come back.

Yelp
Holy smokes. $25 for FOUR chicken tenders. They claim this is for 8 oz of tenders. So they are getting $50 per pound of tenders that they serve!!! FIFTY DOLLARS. Drinks were in tiny glasses filled with ice, so probably 3oz. of actual alcohol/drink and you get that glass of ice for $15.50. Wow. Never again. #foolmeonce

Yelp
Dropped in for drinks and appetizers with a friend recently. Happy hour is daily from 3-6, even on weekends! We shared the pretzel sticks. One of my favorite appetizers to get anywhere and I have to say, these were delicious. I loved the cheese dip! The service was great, nice sized crowd inside so not too loud and plenty of seating. Great local bar or good option to stop for food/drinks when in the area.

Yelp
Being from Jersey I had never heard of McMenamins. My boyfriend and I were staying in the Pineapple Hotel just down the block. When I searched up places to grab a quick bite this showed up and I'm happy we went with it! Our servers were fantastic. Super helpful and friendly. We just got a flight and their delicious Scooby Snacks and sliders. I especially loved the Portland ketchup and mustard - both delicious. The food was great, the sliders were absolutely fantastic. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. There's attention to detail everywhere you turn. The ceilings, corners, windows, the plants. Everything is beautiful and well thought out. I couldn't stop staring everywhere. I'm glad we made a stop here.

Yelp
Great little local bar. Stopped in before going to the Cornish playhouse. Kat was our waitress and bartender when we sat up at the bar. She has such a great personality and was really fun to chat with and she gave great recommendations. We had the trucker burger and it was delicious. Perfectly cooked with nice accoutrements including the pimento cheese and potato chips. Had a nice crunch. Paired it with a nice white wine, it was their house, white rabbit, Sauvignon Blanc. The Cajun tater tots are always my favorite with the ranch.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I absolutely love the McMenamins properties and we had the chance to stop by here before a recent Kraken game. I had no idea there was one in QA, so I was so pumped! Since this was before a Kraken game and after a nearby holiday ballet, it was absolutely insaaaane. Line of people bunched up near the bar and I was certain we wouldn't be able to get in in time. Luckily we were one of two groups of two and we got in within 10 minutes or so. However, there was zero communication from any employee to the group of waiting people and we went five or so minutes with no groups being called despite tables being open... However, everyone was patient and giving them grace because it was absolutely packed that night. We got seated and service was great from there on out, albeit a little rushed (understandable). To start, we went with some hazy IPAs that were delicious, as well as some shots of our favorite tequila that they happened to carry. For food, my boyfriend got the Kraken burger and absolutely loved it. I got the seasonal tuna melt and it was SOOO good. I absolutely love tuna melts + tuna sandwiches, and they knock theirs out of the park. I'm sad that it's seasonal, because I would 100% order it again. And as per usual, the tots on the side were delicious. Happy to have knocked another McMenamins off the list and I'm sure we will return in the future.

Yelp
Great service. Amazing staff got there right before dinner rush. Around 415pm. Think it was a great experience and value.

Yelp
The food was terrible and the wine was stale. Also extremely overpriced. I have been to several McMenamins over the years and this was the only one that I have been disappointed in. Our server was wonderful and the restaurant ambiance was cool. The food however tasted like poor quality grocery store food from the frozen food section.
google avatar

Yelp
I think our server did not get the memo that you have to be aloof and cold to work at a McMenamins (my experience from MANY of their restaurants), because he was bloody fantastic! He had dark hair, a beard and a pony tail. He worked the corner section closest to our hotel (the Staypineapple Maxwell). I am directionally challenged so I'm not sure which direction that is (I think it's the east corner of the restaurant). We were there late night of Dec 8th (after the Ricky Martin/Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias concert). We were rowdy and took 2 tables of 6 guys and 8 girls. Not only did our server let us have 10 separate tabs, but he was able to keep track of the girls at one table and their hubbies at the other table - who were on the same tab. Our server was friendly and got everything correct. That is a tall order, when you have 2 combined tables of 14 people. He even split some of the food orders for the husbands and wives. One couple even wanted to share a beer and he brought them out 2 small glasses! McMenamins food is always the same but the Ruby ales and tater tots tasted a little bitt better than usual and I credit the awesome service we got from our server for that!

Yelp
TL;DR -- convenient and solid location to eat dinner before a Seattle Center show, if a bit pricey. Solid vegan options; no non-alcoholic beer. We do a fair number of shows at McCaw Hall and SIFF (both Uptown and Film Center). What has been disappointing is the relative paucity of decent restaurants to grab a bite to eat beforehand. For whatever reason, even though we walk by McMenamins all the time, we've never been until recently. We finally decided to give it a go. The place is deceptively larger than it looks. I imagine that it fills up pretty quickly post-Kraken games, but for pre-ballet on a Thursday evening at 5:30 PM, seating was easy to come by (although the place was about half full). We're both vegan, and I stopped drinking a while ago. There are a number of clearly marked vegan options (while their menu changes from time-to-time, there's always a vegan burger option, and when we went there were three rice bowl options). No non-alcoholic options, which is a bit disappointing. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. The bartender handled our booth. Nice guy. The whole place, including the bartender, had a very suburban, Midwestern vibe FWIW. Food was good/very good. Portions are on the large size. I was pleased with the rice bowl I had, as was my partner. I don't think this is the type of place where you are going to have a dish where you're raving about it for days afterwards -- and I don't think they market themselves as such. Basically, you're going for location, and want food that you'll like. Compared to comparable-style places (dare I say chains like Chili's and Yard House?), the food here is better. The elephant in the room is that the prices are a bit higher than I would expect, even for Seattle. I'm guessing that this is due to its location -- convenient for post- and pre-event at the Seattle Center. The "nice" thing about price is you know what they are going in -- unlike service or food, you can't really be surprised by how much it'll cost if you look at the menu online ahead of time. We will be back. Particularly when the weather is icky on a day we have a show at McCaw Hall, and don't want to walk or Uber farther away, this is a nice place to go.

Yelp
The food was reasonably good. No complaints for this type of restaurant. The Hazy beer was not a full bodied IPA that we normally expect. The problem with this place is menu prices. Our bill was $70 without tip for a salad with no protein, burger, happy hour wine and beer.
google avatar

Kathryn Y.

Yelp
Back for more while visiting the Seattle center with friends. Fun and casual spot for lunch. Happy hour starts at 3:00, we got there at 2:30, should have ordered a cup of soup, one drink and waited for happy hour prices as the food took longer than expected to arrive. No worries. My sandwich was just ok, the toasted bun was cold. Weird. The chicken was real but the fries were not hot. My friends tots were clearly freshly fried and delicious. Their sliders looked good. No photo. The server gave me two tasters before I decided on a beer which was good. The speciality drink was also delicious. No phot but my other friend got the cider flight and enjoyed it. All in all, 8/10 starts for everything! Good vibes here.

Yelp
I was in the Queen Anne area on my way to an event and stopped in to McMenamins for a burger. I like a good salmon burger now and then and they had one on the menu with tots so I gave it a go. Not a bad burger good amount of tots, nice bun, avocado. Definitely a filling lunch or dinner and beers if your feeling thirsty. Not a bad option near the arena.
google avatar

Sindu K.

Yelp
Decent place to get some drinks. I got the blueberry cider which was good and fries to go along with it, which were good as well. They have a proper food menu, ample amount of seating space plus a bar area. I would recommend this place

Christopher H.

Yelp
Super nice service, great ranch with massive burgers. Little expensive but worth it. Nice cozy ambiance with a cute bar.
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
This was located right around the corner from where we were staying, so I went on a beer scouting mission. After trying 10 different beers (through flights), I can honestly say they have some good non-hoppy beer choices. None of their beers really stood out, but none of them were bad either. Good, not great. The porter was probably their best. Happy hour fry order was large and helped soak up my flight tasting.
google avatar

Amanda D.

Yelp
Always a fan of a Mcmenamins establishment and Queen Anne never disappoints! Great service, solid food and of course the beers are our favorite - namely Terminator! Within walking distance of Seattle Center and Key Arena (or whatever we are calling it now). Definitely a pub we come to every time we are in town.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for McMenamins stamps and to check this place out. We went around 1pm on a Tuesday and it was dead in there, we were the only customers for about half an hour. The food was tasty and hit the spot. We chatted with the waiter about Seattle life and he told us a funny story. This place seemed really chill and friendly. Definitely worth stopping by for a snack.
google avatar

Wendy B.

Yelp
Friendly service and probably the most expensive fish and chips for any pub in the area. The fish and chips were good, but other locations aren't charging $25 and it is one of the most expensive items on the menu. More than any burger I think. I expected to pay Seattle prices, but after checking other places in Seattle this was far more expensive than those locales.
google avatar

Hillary P.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of Mcmenamins. This location is definitely on theme with others I've been to, the only difference with this experience was how busy they were. We had walked in before a playoff game for the kraken. Keep in mind if there is a game around the time you want to go. We parked a block up and walked there. The food was average but satisfying.
google avatar

Cristina C.

Yelp
it took some time to get service. The waitress was honest, apologized and said she's not sure what happened, she just wasn't paying attention. Honesty and accountability are so important and she was very attentive moving forward. Maria's magnum opus is my favorite sandwich and we were able to try the new wine for Mother's day. Good experience
google avatar

Jeremy S.

Yelp
There is no such thing as a bad McMenamins. Of course this location is a lot more basic than the ones I love going to in OR. However , it still had the same great beer and good food to go with it. I originally went to Seattle this day to try and enjoy the bite of Seattle but that was an absolute nightmare so my trip ended with a great meal and a couple of beers at this Queen Ann location. The Service which always is amazing at McMenamins was a 5 star rating. Ambience is small and quaint. Any time I'm near I will return with a smile. Thank you for saving our Saturday.
google avatar

William M.

Yelp
I came here with my exchange students because it was close to our hotel, but I will gladly come back in the future for the food, service, and atmosphere. In spite of the fact that it was game night (Seattle Kraken) and the place was packed, our wait wasn't too long, and the boys had fun just checking out the place and absorbing the atmosphere (great energy and "very American" in the best sense). Once we were seated, our server was friendly and attentive. All three of us ordered burgers, which were delicious and reasonably priced. I followed the server's recommendation for my beer. The boys were happy to know that they had free refills for their drinks (which is not the case in their home countries).
google avatar

Brian B.

Yelp
After spending a day traveling from ONP, and a few hours amid traversing Pike Street in downtown, we wanted one more cocktail before calling it an evening. This joint is across the street from the hotel we were staying at, so it seems a no brainer. The bar tender makes a damn good Old Fashion.
google avatar

Whitney N.

Yelp
Walked in - they said we could sit anywhere and we did. The guy made eye contact and we sat there and nobody brought us menus or anything. We finally got up and left after trying to get their attention.
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
It's been a while, but I've always enjoyed the various McMenamin's locations in WA and OR. This one is no exception -- great location, great beers, great service, and a fun vibe. The problem is ummm... the quality of the food. My wife and I recently split a $26 (!) order of fish and chips that was pretty bad. It was obviously frozen fish, which isn't the end of the world, but it had some chewy parts and tasted fishy. This is freaking Seattle and there is no excuse for bad fish. Especially for the price I was pretty ticked off and should have said something to the bartender. Overall I found the prices at this location to be pretty ridiculous even for a popular neighborhood in Seattle. A lot of the food did look really good -- especially the burgers and the little corn dog bites. And like I said, their beers are really tasty. We will be back, but will be much more particular about what we order.

Jon D.

Yelp
Says open late after hockey game, but that's a lie. I was really relying on there website's honestly to feed my family. It was even 10 minutes before the normal closing time, but whatever, guess the employees have better things to do. Don't trust it.

Liz P.

Yelp
A friend and I stopped by after a concert and this place was dead. Tons of people walked by, wish we did too. We couldn't believe how much it cost for a small basket of tater tots it was over $13.- They had too many people on staff for the amount of customers. Guess that's why everything was so expensive Total rip-off! It's not like they make the tater tots from scratch, they're frozen like all the other menu items. I will pass by next time I'm in Queen Anne for a show. would have been better off at Buckley's.
google avatar

Chad B.

Yelp
Food and beer were both pretty decent. I'm a BJCP Certified beer judge, for what its worth. Definitely worth checking out. My itemized credit card bill was substantially higher than the prices on the menu. Menu said "Fall 2021" on it, so it was not out of date. If you like being charged a bullshit Seattle Trendy Neighborhood Tax, then this is the place for you.
google avatar

Brenda B.

Yelp
The food was great. The service was outstanding! Definitely recommend and we will go back the next time that we ate on that side of Seattle.

Bryan L.

Yelp
Waited in front of the sign that said "Please wait to be seated", then stood there for about 10 minutes, while nobody acknowledged us. Then we decided to leave because they were taking so long to even say one thing to us. As we leave an employee says thank you lol what a joke
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
We went here before catching a New Year's Eve show! McMenamin's is walk in only, and we waited outside for about 15 minutes. We were seated at the bar fairly quickly, and our bartender was really nice. We enjoyed our drinks-while they were a little small in size, the price was right for them. Between us we had a Paloma, Frisky Whiskey, and Billy Rye Tai. All were good, but the Frisky Whiskey was the best. We enjoyed their Truffle Fries, Scooby snacks and their T-N-T basket. For a busy night, we were in and our in an hour. The service was solid, the food was tasty, the drinks were great. It was a good way to start the night! In a time of COVID-19, they were masking, sanitizing and they were checking vaccine passports as people were seated. They took precautions very seriously. I would love to come back!
google avatar

Kay G.

Yelp
Food was gross! Tots all stuck in two clumps an wouldn't unclump. Chx strips were meh.. the coleslaw had gone bad. I posted a pic of what they served to us. Took like 10 min to be waited on. I would not recommend this place again wasted $$ the honey mustard was also just honey an Dijon ‍‍ CRAP BAR FOOD THALL MAKE YOU SICK

B E.

Yelp
Food was edible but not to the point of wanting to eat there again. The service was decent. Drinks were good. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Pub, diner, brewery and bistro, McMenamins has provided pub food, coffees, sandwiches, burgers, fish and chips, Mac and Cheese, and wonderful salads for many years, here and in Oregon where it started. JR's Jumbo Deluxe burger, suggested by our nimble server Mike (he virtually runs as he serves), was perfect for my lunch as I hadn't eaten breakfast. Beef burger, Bacon, fried egg, tomato, lettuce (was there a pickle?) on a large bun was done perfectly and served with wonderful Cajun tater tots, spicy and crispier than french fries. The Blue Bayou was a large salad with chopped egg, bacon pieces and a blue cheese dressing which was scrumptious. Filling and satisfying enough for two hungry people. Cocktails (Lemon Drop, Kissed by a Rose) were refreshing and very good. Relaxing and friendly service and frequented by locals lined up outside before opening time at noon, we took our time enjoying our meal and walked out with a nifty T-shirt with a replica of one of the signature murals on the walls---a gift from my lovely partner! Loved this place years ago and love it even more now.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Lovely place to have dinner before a show. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was actually really good. We got lots of fish and chips that were fresh and crispy and a burger that was to die for. The drinks were just ok but we knew coming in we should have gotten beer instead of cocktails.

Paula S.

Yelp
Always a great stop when stamping. My favorite McMenamins will always be Edgefield in Troutdale Or.
google avatar

Chelle Y.

Yelp
I came on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty crowded. I contemplated leaving due to the wait time, but I'm glad I stuck around. The food was good, and the service was excellent. I could tell the servers were swamped in their crowded sections, but they took the time to check on everyone and thank them for coming. Even though it was lively inside, it still felt cozy enough to relax. The battered fish and tater tots were the best things I tried.

Renee G.

Yelp
This was such a fun experience, I am sure people just walk in here for a quick beer but I have heard about McMenamins for years from my boyfriend and his family - they lived in Portland for a long while and it was a must go to place when we visited Seattle. We got some fries, a beer flight and I got a nice refreshing Mojito like drink. Our server - I totally forgot her name but she was amazing, kind and helpful - Picked out 3 of our beers. We also visited the 6 Arms location during our trip but this one definitely beats it. Vibes are better just like a nice tucked away bar with good people.
google avatar

Charles L.

Yelp
Walked in at 10:45 on a Friday night, stood there for five minutes by the "please wait to be seated" sign before being told by one of the two front of house staff working to seat myself. Left at 11:15 without having been so much as offered a glass of water. This wasn't a server problem; they were both literally running to keep up. This was a staffing problem. Do better, management.
google avatar

Gina H.

Yelp
This was my first time visiting a McMenamins location. This one had food. Staff was friendly. They had both beer AND cider, which is always a plus. This is an after game spot people frequent when the Kraken play; they even have a Game Day menu special. 3 stars for service. Overall Rating: Just okay I would have liked to see a few more gluten free items on the menu, not just salad, esp for the price :(
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious drinks, flights, and the fish and chips are ahhhmmazing!! Recommend trying the pretzels and cheese, their cheese is fabulous!! Great little hole in the wall with fast service and delicious food!!

Gary L.

Yelp
Not worth 1/2 of the price. Good did not taste good and coffee was bitter. When you spend over $250 on a meal you expect something to taste good. Nope The atmosphere is nice but not for that price.

Jon W.

Yelp
Good beer. Food overpriced and mediocre. Advertises happy hour then doesn't honor it "when there are events"....there are constant "events"...false advertising
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
WOW! Our concierge recommended this place and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was right across from our hotel and our server was the kindest! Once she found out we were visiting, she put together a list of her favorite places, including Discovery Park, and it was so helpful! We had their soft pretzels.... yum!!! Along with burgers that really hit the spot after a long day of traveling. Our son kept asking to go back!
google avatar

Dan M.

Yelp
Had scoped this place on Yelp as a halfway point between pike place and Queen Anne as a stopping point for a quick break and a beer. Had several good beers on draft and they did a decent job with my wife's cocktail (something Paloma). Also the bartender was super nice even though he had to go outside and check on us. The place overall was dingy and smelled of old grease. That being said, good place for a quick beer outside.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Went on New Years Day on my way to a Kraken game. Felt off so only had water at Kraken game. Then food poisoning set in. Called next day. Employee said he would credit my card. Got a return call hours later telling me manager would call. No call. No refund. Really?!?!?! I liked this place before. I'm extremely disappointed. Beware of the veggie burger.
google avatar

Chris B.

Yelp
What happened to this place?! Absolutely rude service. I love McMenamins places but the staff at this one are running it into the ground. Avoid.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
Convenient location when staying next door. Was good food and quick service. Went back again next day and place was packed and they were short staffed but food was still good. Would go back again.
