Google
Stumbled upon the McNichols building with a friend from out of town while sightseeing. What a pleasant surprise. Some beautiful artwork by some great artists. Besides that a cool break from the outside heat. First time there and definitely not my last time visiting.

I went to a wedding held by a dear friend and the Venue was absolutely great 2nd floor was so spacious!! The temperature was just perfect even when we started dancing we weren’t crazy hot and sweating it was so perfect!!

Google
Absolutely ADORE attending events here!! It’s a beautiful place for art galleries + film events.. it’s composed of 3 floors of different designs each representing a different sensory experiences!!

Google
Great venue for everything. Right in the heart of downtown. Free art to see and exhibits change often. The only time you can't see the art is if the space is rented out for an event.

Google
Found this place while walking about downtown. Not much marking this hidden gem but worth looking for it. It's free to get in. A display on the ground floor shows the process used to create the nearby Chinese zodiac display in city park. Make sure to check out the light art display.

The McNichols Building is a large beautiful space that is centrally located and takes its duty as a public space seriously. They are fabulous partners for nonprofits, making the event as smooth as possible from concept to walk through to execution. My organization, the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado, has put on our Statewide Forum here for two years now and we get rave reviews from attendees (as well as staff). I highly recommend checking them out for your next public event.

Google
So this is what you need to know about this venue - I've not experienced better staff in this town. The team is beyond reproach in professionalism, positivity, tact, customer service, and commitment to ensuring the best experience for the guest. And the art is incredible.

Google
Great place for an event. Plenty of space and a good, industrial loft vibe to the place. Parking is tough tho, had to find an after hours meter and park on the street a few blocks away.

Yelp
Pretty cool art exhibits, and it's free! We enjoyed looking at the kimonos exhibit on the third floor. The view out the windows looks good too. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Working on my event now and the staff has been nothing but helpful through the whole process of me setting everything up for 8.14.22

Yelp
Looking for something fun and cheap to do on a Monday night? Look no further! I stumbled across the Civic center conservancy page and found out that they offer FREE yoga classes on Monday nights from 6:00-7:00 pm! You can read more about it here: http://www.civiccenterconservancy.org/event-civic-center-moves_78.html?ref=home The newly remodeled building is impressive and sharp looking. They held the yoga in a spacious room where I had an area all to myself. It had very artistic works of art made entirely of recycled bicycle pieces. The instructor was fantastic, I was working up a sweat by the end of class! I'm always checking up on this venues website because they offer fun things to do throughout the year. They offer various art and craft fairs' in the winter and a fashion show in the spring!

Yelp
This is an awesome venue. It's spacious - with three floors and an outdoor area. I attended the Westword Feast and even with the hundreds and hundreds of people there, it never got horribly uncomfortable. The restrooms are clean and plentiful and there are a lot of windows with great views of downtown. I had a great time at that event and that's in good part due to the great venue.

Yelp
I had never heard of the McNichols building until the Denver (Only) Beer Festivus. But, it is definitely not a place to be overlooked. It's centrally located and so pretty! It is a lovely event space, whether you are planning a festival such as this one or something more intimate like a wedding. The sound was also pretty good here which is important for big crowds or music. It wasn't so loud or echo-y that it was hard to talk, but the music and voices filled the room comfortably. Drinking inside is definitely not a problem, but I'm not sure about food as the festival only had food trucks. However that worked out just fine for the venue so it could be an option if you are considering hosting an event at this space.

Yelp
Here we are, post wedding, and as promised I will update my review. It was fabulous. Possibly the best venue I could ever imagine for my wedding. Tim Taylor was so wonderful to work with. Very accommodating and kind. He works with his daughter, Alexa Taylor, on occasion and we hired her as our day of coordinator. She was fabulous! Our catering coordinator and Tim got along great and the whole day was flawless. The space was large but felt intimate, modern but vintage. We have some beautiful photographs from the place and I can't imagine a better venue for our wedding. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Pick the McNichols Civic Center for your next event. Its central location and dignified Neoclassical architecture will be just the first of many positive impressions for your guests. The building and its staff are embedded in the Denver community, featuring artists and expositions that celebrate local culture. We worked with Julie and Sarah on logistics leading up to the event and Sarah and Aaron for day-before and day-of coordination. They were fully accommodating to all special requests and attentive even when schedules shifted or unexpected difficulties popped up. Sarah stayed after-hours the day before the event to help me check AV when my flight was delayed and Aaron saved the day when we discovered an important workshop handout had been misprinted. Even the front desk security team was kind and helpful, remembering my name and assisting us in renting AV resources. The event space was gorgeous and, though we didn't have attendees to fill the room, the way the team set things up didn't feel bare or poorly attended. So much natural light, and conveniently placed bathrooms and elevators for accessibility. They even have a standing composting contract that manages organic waste, which was very important to our event. I'd be happy to coordinate any future events with the McNichols Center and am confident that this team can handle whatever your event may throw at them. A huge thank-you to them.

Yelp
We attended a masquerade ball here on 10/31, after the Opening night of the Denver Film Festival. The building is nicely payed out, with a dance floor, stage, multiple food and drink stations. But in all honesty, I only saw the fourth floor. I'm looking forward to coming back.

Yelp
I was just about to give up when I finally found it. I will admit I am directionally challenged; It just made no sense to me that it would be where it was!!! Interesting space, lots of room for an event so you don't feel like you are crammed in a can. I certainly got in my cardio last night with the 3 floors of fun, Elevator yes.. but why wait!

Yelp
The McNichols Building is such a hip place for an event! Situated near the Denver County Courthouse and down the hill from the Capitol, you really couldn't ask for a better location in Denver. Vibrant and unique, the spaces here simply exude cool. I've had the pleasure of attending a few events at the McNichols building, most recently for a wedding reception. I loved the fabulous art adorning the walls, which created a neat backdrop for a classy affair. I love this fabulous space!

Yelp
This awesome historic building was awesome before, but the new remodel has really improved the space. It's a great location for an event whether it's a party, or a craft fair. If you get the chance, stop in and see the space, it's great.

Yelp
This space is GORGEOUS, dahling. I was lucky enough to work an event (Denver Beer Festivus) here and I loved everything about this place. The location next to the courthouse and Civic Center Park is absolutely beautiful, the old building is just lovely and inside they've taken a great historic building and given it a modern, event center look. The giant windows let in tons of that great natural Colorado sunlight that we love so much. The artwork on the walls was modern and interesting without taking center stage. The flow of the upstairs event room is great, with very few "roadblocks." Plus, in talking with some friends that helped organize the event, they said the event staff here was great to work with. Now I'm trying to think of an event I want to have, just so I can have it at McNichols!

Yelp
Totally special venue space- 3 floors of mixed use event space in a former library- the bones in this place is amazing. Lots of art on display. They recently put in a Casey Kawaguchi mural, which really adds to "Denverness" of the space, it's lovely! I've been here for galas, parties and lectures. It's a blank canvas... it's amazing! Great for a wedding or some other special event. It's gorgeous! Sign up for their emails and you'll get invites to the fun art happenings in the space... so much potential! It's exterior is amazing... right next to civic center in the heart of it all!

Yelp
I've been to a few different types of events on many, many occasions, and I've loved 'em all. Truth + Dare a while back was slammin', Warm Cookies of the Revolution uses this joint on the regular, and the art spaces are what's up. I've also lent a hand organizing at this spot, and even when we're lurkin' around while others are settin' up their events, it's a chill vibe. The staff I've interfaced with have been extraordinary, particularly my man that works the parking around back (that's parking for staff/folks involved with event) and the homies that may or may not be security, but they're always down by law and helpin' out. Inside and out, this spot is fresh. Centrally located, close to public transportation and everything downtown-- this is one of them things Denver-ites can be proud of. I hope more and more community organizations and non-profits utilize this space. For the people!

Yelp
We attended the Westword FoodFeast here with VIP tickets. This is a 3 story venue with private outdoor areas which includes outside seating with more food and drinks! An adult only event and the food was fabulous. Restaurants presented tapas of new offerings. All the alcohol was included and everything was very generous. The layout is perfect for this event and plenty of nice restrooms. A definite must to do again next year!! Thank You Westword!!

Yelp
We recently booked a wedding at McNichols and were blown away by the helpful staff, building amenities, awesome art installations and elegant atmosphere! The remodel has definitely elevated the feel of the space and having multiple levels for the event made for seamless transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. They provided tables, chairs and easels for our decor and signage and allowed us the flexibility to transform the space as we pleased. There are also several beautiful places just steps away from the building to take photos outside. Security staff was on-site for the duration of our event to make sure our cars, belongings, and guests stayed safe. The space has both elevators and stairs for easy access and a very spacious prep kitchen. Vendor load-in and load-out was easy with their freight elevators and carts. Basically, this place has it all! If you're looking for an elegant, urban space for your wedding or event, THIS is your place.

Yelp
I was here recently for the Denver Beer Festivus. I thought the space was ideal for hosting small to medium sized events. The vibe here was of a trendy loft or warehouse. The space has a modern mixed with orginal feel to it. Like they updated it, without losing the charm of the history.

Yelp
Unique event venue in the heart of Denver. Historic building renovated as an art gallery with industrial flair. Perfect for seated meals, receptions-- space can work with a variety of group sizes. Bring in outside catering and bar-tending services to customize your event. Biggest drawback is lack of downtown parking.

Yelp
While visiting Denver I attended an art exhibit/reception here. It was completely free including refreshments and live music. The location is great, and the building has been well maintained. Nice space for special events!!

Yelp
We produced an evening of dance/theater at the McNichols Building, and I highly recommend this space for events of all kinds. The support staff was unmatched - helpful at every turn. The building is a gem in the heart of downtown. It's a great asset for the residents of Denver. I look forward to future events at McNichols and hope to work with their incredible team again.

Yelp
This is a super cool space. I came here to see the amazing 7 Dancers show and was blown away by how cool the space was.

Yelp
A great space for a decent-sized event. I attended the Denver Festivus beer festival here, and it was great. It has that modern art gallery feel to it, but somehow maintains its history. Plus the views from the windows are great and it's super easy to get to being in Civic Center Park. I could see an art event, another beer fest, a dance event, or a number of other festivities hosted here. Not sure if food can be catered here, but if it can, that would expand its use.

Yelp
This overall is a great venue. It is slighly dates but love the wooden floors and everything about this building. I love the spacious venue that this offers. I have been here for many events and all were great! Look forward to my next event here!

Yelp
Fantastic venue choice for the May 2013 yelp event!! All the different levels allowed for an excellent layout.

Yelp
Was here for a Yelp! event. The event was fun and I didn't even know this venue existed.

Yelp
Don't get me wrong...the space is nice/hip/and unlike other spaces in the downtown area (we really lack the "raw" loft-like venues) but if you're planning an event here be warned! Tim Taylor, the events coordinator is the type that over promises and under delivers. I just hosted an event here with over 400 people for a non-profit and we had so much "bait and switch" with this venue that would never hold an event here again. For starters we were planning our event for the 3rd floor and less than 2 weeks before the event Tim emailed saying that there was artwork in the 3rd floor prohitbing us from using that floor so we would have to use the 2nd floor. Talk about last minute stress for those working on planning! Even worse he was not apologetic and was very "it is what it is...too bad." Then we were told we could unload some of the decor/furniture from the event on the morning following, and as the committee was leaving for the night we were rudely told by their security guy that we had to have everything out that night (despit our agreement with Tim). So at 1am after an exhausting day preparing for the event and then hosting I was forced to clear out EVERYTHING with a few other people. I could not have been more dissapointed with Tim's communication and flat out false promises. I cannot even imagine if this event was my wedding .... I would never recommend this venue to any bride... Due to the potential added stress and last minute issues. While the venue is well priced and has a unique look, it really under delivers in terms of customer service and final execution. Also be forewarned the art in the space can really vary in terms of subject matter and size. So you might be stuck with some questionable art on the walls for your event. In our case the install on the 3rd floor was so huge it made the floorplate unfunctional for us to put tables/chairs up. Also the art can really limit your plans in terms of wall space for event related things. - something to consider that Tim failed to mention prior to us booking
