The staff were very friendly. Always with a smile. The fish n chips were good but the nachos were mid to low-did not like the nacho sauce mixed w refried beans ver soggy. Plenty of beer and other spirits to choose from. Pretty good vibes overall.

Good decent selection of food: Callagan stew, lasagna, wings, fries, and ice berg salad. A bit on the salty side. Friendly staff and quick service. There was live music, but we sat a bit away so it didn't disrupt the conversation.

I recommend this lovely Irish pub. Such a fun atmosphere. They have an extensive beer selection and food menu. The staff is friendly and the service is very good. Every time we have been here they have had good live music. In addition at times, they clear the tables in front of the band for dancing.

Love the vibe and atmosphere! Great outdoor fire pits. Food was good for pub food, drinks were even better. Live music every night which is sweet!

Stopped by to enjoy a late night drink. Outdoor area was clean and cozy with the fire pits going. Live band indoors which could be heard outdoors. Would recommend.

The BBQ chicken and fries were tasty and satisfying. Chicken strips were on the dry side—wouldn’t recommend those. Overall, a great stop to warm up and enjoy a drink.

I recently visited this Irish pub and had a great experience overall. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy. They have a live music the pretty often. The food was quite good. I was particularly impressed by their extensive selection of beers. It’s the kind of place where you can find something for everyone. However, my only disappointment was the use of plastic cups for the drinks. It felt like a missed opportunity to enhance the experience, especially given the otherwise inviting ambiance of the pub. A nice glass would have really elevated the occasion. Overall, I would recommend this Irish pub for its great atmosphere, live music, and solid food and drink options. Just be prepared for the plastic cups!

Cool place, life music... fun and energetic... This was our 1st time here. The only thing was the service... host did a great job sitting us..The server could have been a bit chill with taking our order, helping with some choices... other than that, we liked the experience and recommended this restaurant. The cocktails were great, burger was very good, huge by the way... the sweet potato fries were awesome..

Yelp
Haven't been here in a few years but I returned back since I remembered my last experience here was great. We got the spicy cauliflower wings, pub nachos, and the Ol Dubliner. The spicy cauliflower wings were generously coated with hot buffalo sauce. They were tangy, spicy, yet addicting and delicious, the homemade ranch also made me want to dive in for more. The pub nachos were huge in portion but they were honestly average. They were tasty but soggy and there was rarely any type of protein in the nachos. I had higher expectations for them, I believe you can make better nachos at home for a cheaper price than what they offer here. However, the Ol Dublin burger was amazing! Both of the double patties melted in my mouth and created a mess, but it was seasoned and cooked so well! It tasted like it was fresh from the grill. The corned beef was so crispy, I honestly wished they added more. You can barely taste the sauerkraut but I had no problem with this since sauerkraut is usually potent and I like how this had a subtle taste in the burger. I wished they used a different bun, I think it was a little too dry for the patty but I still finished my meal. The fries had crispy edges, and tasted fresh and steaming hot. It was salted very well and it was even better with the ranch than the ketchup. The ambience is beautiful inside, it literally reminds me of a pub. A big bar, stools and tables in the middle, and sport screens to watch your favorite game on. The service was fast, friendly, and took great care of us. I definitely want to explore more of their menu and try their iconic shepherds pie, as well as some of the desserts! The portions are huge though, so hopefully we can get to that point lol. Definitely visiting again

Yelp
If I'd have to rate "McPs Taphouse Grill" solely for their beer selection, it would be a 4.5 out of 5 stars. But since I came for food and drinks, I need to be as fair as possible on this review. Located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe (on the California side) and directly on South Lake Tahoe Blvd., this place has been serving up comfort food and over 3 dozen beers on tap dating back to 2013. Parking here can be quite a challenge so I recommend going to one of the nearby casinos (which charge after the first hour). The business hours of operation are also very generous as they are open 11:30am-12am (Mon-Thu), 11:30am-1:00am (Fri-Sat), and 9:30am-12am (Sun). I came here with my lady during the afternoon of Saturday 1/22/2025 around 3:45pm as we met up with other friends for an early dinner before a concert. As for the overall layout of this place, it had that cavernous cabin like feel to it that suits the menu that this place has to offer. They also offer a small stage for live music, TV's for viewing, and dedicated barstools if you wish to enjoy your brew at the beer pouring areas. My party of 7 sat at a large communal-style table with ample space to set our phones, iced waters, and utensils as we were all comfortable dining inside. Since I was planning to go to a concert later that evening, I wanted to eat a very heavy meal to keep me full throughout the rest of the day. Therefore, I went with the "Aloha Pulled Pork" sandwich which was slow cooked pork in BBQ sauce and a pineapple in between a soft Pretzel bun. It also included a side of seasoned pub fries. I also opted for a half order of the "Fish & Chips" which was beer battered Alaskan cod and included a side of coleslaw, lemon wedges (for the fish), pub fries, and tartar sauce. To drink, I went with a low-calorie Michelob Ultra. Total time to get our food was roughly 10 minutes. I will say that this place has your standard pub/comfort food. Nothing amazing but just good stick to your ribs food. The fish tasted fine, was well-battered and crispy while the sandwich was tasty while the sweet BBQ sauce in the pulled pork accompanied the soft bun. If I could compare it to somewhere else, it is quite similar to BJ's Brewhouse or Dave & Busters. Service was good as our waiter was quick and attentive. They also have a fairly extensive menu offering small bites, appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, and true Irish pub fare (bangers & mash, Shephard's pie, Mulligan stew, etc.). All in all, "McPs Taphouse Grill" is a decent place with okay prices and good pub-styled food. My rating, 3 stars.

Yelp
We stopped here to rest and to have a cocktail. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and the our waitress known we were very thirsty so she bought us ice water right away. This is a sports bar and many different games were playing on a lot of different TVS. The bar is a really fun place to spend sometime at. We had an order of onion rings which were great. We also had an order of Nachos which were okay but I wouldn't order them again. Overall a fun place to stop at.

Yelp
Atmosphere was amazing, live music. Service could be better. Food is so so. We ordered rare steak and meat was Tough, rubbery. But pie was good

Yelp
I saw they sold Pliny the Elder, so I figured since it's February, I'd try my luck. I asked the bartender twice if they had Pliny the Younger, and both times he said yes. He poured it, and the color seemed off. I asked a third time, and he finally said, " No, it's Elder..." I'm pissed

Krystal C.

Yelp
Came here for sister's birthday. The staff was friendly and the food was delicious! Loved the nachos and shepards pie is something I'd definitely go back for!

Joe C.

Yelp
The food was ok. Not bad, but not great either. We ordered the Shepherds Pie and Reuben Sandwich. Both were lacking flavor, kind of bland. As for the service, that was perfect. Server was very friendly, kept our water full, and did a very nice job overall. She gets 5 stars. Food gets 2.

Josselyn R.

Yelp
I loved this place! The ambience was amazing, drinks were on point, the food was up to par, we had fun! Tracy was very nice and friendly. I would love to come back here.

Yelp
Gayle and I recently took the drive over the Kingsbury for Lunch at McPs. It was midweek summer, but before the 4th of July. Traffic was down, but the parking dos and don'ts were confusing. After finding something that didn't have a corresponding warning sign, we walked in from a more than a couple blocks off. We were seated at a nice shaded and view area outside and enjoyed a relaxing time with good service throughout. The inside of this place is huge and we imagined how busy this place could be and why we don't stop in Stateline very often. Yes, the semi-rural character of Genoa and surroundings have spoiled us. Over beers, I had a Buffalo Chicken sandwich, while Gayle chose a mostly plain burger. As is our custom, we split the sides, with me going for fries (to be shared) and salad for Gayle. All were solid and tasty choices. We'd gladly come back if we were in the neighborhood again, but not as a destination.

Holly C.

Yelp
We went in for food and a drink before a concert across the street. Very impressed with how busy it was and their ability to stay on top of their customer service! The food came out fast and we were able to get out of there in a timely manor. The food was typical bar food that we ordered. Chicken tenders could have used less breading and more chicken. Great place to stop at the lake!

Carrie K.

Yelp
I've been McPs TapHouse a couple of times and love it. The atmosphere is fun, warm and inviting, the live entertainment is always a bonus, and the bartenders are attentive and very nice. The outdoor firepits bring a hint of nostalgia when enjoyed during a snowfall. Our fave eats are the Colcannon creamy soup and Mulligan Stew served up in a tasty sourdough bread bowl. DELISH! We will be back soon.

Russell R.

Yelp
It is what it is. A large pub-bar with plenty of room and varied seating. Great selection of beers. We had fries and chicken tenders. I'm not a chicken guy but I did sneak one of the large, six, juicy pieces. Actually pretty good, sorta like when someone says this is a non-wine drinker's wine. These were a non-poultry eater poultry. Service was okay. We switched tables with consent then they messed up our check. Cest La vie stuff happens. The indoor ski-lift is pretty cool, too. Would return for limited purpose. -- workingman's gourmand.

Yelp
This place was conveniently located within walking distance from the hotel we were staying at. There is lots of seating inside and outside that can accommodate large parties. The outside tables have nice warm fire pits. They have a big menu so there's something for everyone. We tried lots of items on the menu and everything was yummy and hit the spot. The portions are big and shareable. The potato cabbage soup was perfect for a cold winter day. It was a bit spicy for me but others thought it was fine. My favorite item was the elote corn dip, Mexican street corn with tortilla chips! This is a fun place to gather with friends and family while in South Lake Tahoe.

Yelp
Beautiful afternoon in Tahoe after shopping we wanted to continue our #TikiTriathlon. Sat outside and enjoyed a cocktail and snack. We went with Guinness Fries, crispy basket of fries with a Guinness gravy to dip them in. Also the pretzel and beer cheese dip. Plenty to enjoy and took some on with us. Best part of our snack was Hunter, friendly and outgoing server. Greeted us and took great care of us.

Maksim R.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great with live music, but the food and service didn't meet expectations.

Mae G.

Yelp
Ambiance: seated outside right away despite dinner rush; inside felt a little stuffy and dark. Biggest Negative- women's bathroom needed attention desperately! Service: food and drinks came quickly; server was attentive despite busy evening; unfortunately, they don't take reservations, so go early. Food: Fish & Chips (full order @ $22 50): very filling; fish were crunchy and flaky; needed some salting, though, even with lemon and tartar sauce. Lettuce Cups (@ $14.50): 4 small lettuce sleeves, a bowl of meat (slightly sweet), cup of sweet chili- good portion for light eating

Yelp
We went here Saturday for dinner at McPs TapHouse Grill and it was an absolute delight for my partner, Zoey, and me. Seated by the inviting fire pit table, Zoey's calm demeanor added to the relaxed ambiance. We treated her to two beef Pup Patties, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Zoey was patient, calm, well behaved, and happy to be there. Dozen of people told her how well-behaved of her. She was not on the leash. As for us, the Moscow Mule and Spicy Bloody Mary were refreshing highlights of our evening. And let's talk about the food - the Flat Iron Steak was simply phenomenal, living up to its mouthwatering descriptions that left us craving more. Equally impressive was the Shepherd's Pie, a savory delight that left us feeling comforted and content. Overall, McPs TapHouse Grill offers a perfect blend of delicious cuisine, refreshing drinks, and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're dining with friends, family, or furry companions, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
McP's Taphouse is delicious and lots of fun!! Big shout out to Brianna for recommending the fish and chips. They were so good!! The in house beer batter is phenomenal and the thick, light, fluffy cod is *chefs kiss Great service, tasty drinks and a super fun atmosphere!! I'll make this a more regular stop on future Tahoe trips

Jullie U.

Yelp
We got drinks and a few appetizers to split for the table. The drinks were good and the location of the restaurant was very ideal. The setup was cute. The food wasn't that good, and we had to wait a lot for a things we asked for. The cauliflower wings were very dry had to ask for more buffalo sauce. The sweet potato fries came out cold. The elote dip was not what was expected, it had a weird old sitting out flavor.

Yelp
I liked this place so much, I went there multiple nights in a row on a trip to Lake Tahoe. Honestly, could be some of the best food in town. The nachos weren't my favorite since they had 711 style squirt nacho cheese that made my stomach hurt on the first bite, but everything else I had there was great. The pretzel appetizer was my favorite hands down. The staff was great and made my experience. Plus, live music is always the best. I don't think I'd be back in town, but if I was I would certainly go here again.

Vicky B.

Yelp
Ordered the artichoke spinach dip, pulled pork sliders. The sliders were ridiculous with the portions of meat pulled high. They had great flavor and I would definitely order them again. The spinach artichoke dip was insanity with how many chunks of artichoke were in the dish. The orange Creamsicle drink tasted different from a few years back when I had it, it almost had a pineapple taste to it. The blackjack drink tasted like an otterpop which was interesting as the alcohol was very forward. The service was excellent and they had live music on the Wednesday night we went.

Sonila S.

Yelp
Okaay this is my second time here while being in tahoe and omg horrible ! The service was okay but all the food was nasty. The salmon was uncooked, the chicken tender had a nasty taste and the nachos were expired! tasted very expired! such a waste of money

Linda R.

Yelp
After driving from Tioga Pass, we arrived late to Lake Tahoe. We were starving, so we checked Yelp to find a restaurant that was open late. Luckily, Mr. P's was in walking distance of our hotel, so we decided to check it out. It was a cool evening, and unfortunately, I had left my fleece jacket at the hotel. When we arrived, I immediately noticed the gas fire enclosure, so we decided to sit outside so I could warm up. The beautiful, warm flames helped make it a nice relaxing evening and helped take the chill away. We checked the craft beer list, and I immediately noticed the Lead Dog Peanut Butter Stout. Being a big fan of Reeses Cups, I knew this was the beer for me, and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was the second best beer I have ever had. The nutty taste added to the flavor. We decided to share the chicken nachos. They weren't my favorite. I guess you could call them typical state fair nachos with a little more, but I was hoping for something different. My idea was black beans, instead of refried beans, switch out the typical orange nacho cheese for some queso and add in onions and corn salsa. Our waiter was a great guy! He started our fire immediately even when the hostess said it could be a while, since they were short staffed. He also talked with us when there was a slight beer flight incident and explained why it took a minute for the nachos to come out.

Heidi N.

Yelp
Love this place! Great vibes, and great food. I got the shepherds pie with short ribs and it was so yum. Our server was also so attentive and made sure we were taken care of! Def a place we will be coming back to :)

Daniel L.

Yelp
McPs taphouse is a nice Irish bar that is pretty big. The bar itself was a little small and cramped but there's a huge massive outdoor area with lots of fire pits. We came here for a couple beers and it was nice. They have an extensive 40 list of beers there. The issue I had at this place unfortunately was and I feel like all of South Lake Tahoe is that no one ever prices their beers. all the beers here were nine dollars no matter what you got, which I feel is not right because why would a Russian river beer cost the same amount as a Michelob ultra. I would come back but definitely just get the most expensive beer there since they are all the same price.

Kristina T.

Yelp
We decided to try this place out before heading to a concert. It was pretty crowded but luckily we didn't have to wait long. The service was great especially considering how busy they were. You could tell most people had the same idea as us before the concert. We sat outside on the patio and the weather was perfect! Although you can't go wrong with Tahoe's summer weather! Food was great but SO filling! Definitely will return when back in Tahoe.

Aireen T.

Yelp
Very nice presentation and it was delicious. The salad came with balsamic glaze and it paired well with the chicken. The chicken was cooked perfectly. Came on a Friday night and it was packed. It normally is. We come often. Great selection of food and drinks

Katherine W.

Yelp
Outdoor seating was pleasant. Plenty of umbrellas for shade. The server was very attentive and sweet. Beer was delicious. I enjoy the rotating stocks from different breweries such as the Russian River. The food was decent, nothing crazy. I might buy the pizza again, however the burger was rather bland. Very pricey for what it is.

Mark T.

Yelp
McPs TapHouse is located just on the California side is the state line. They've got a bar with a stage, restaurant, and patio seating. We stopped in for dinner before a show at Harvey's amphitheater. It was busy (with other concertgoers) but we got seated quickly on the patio. Our waitress was hustling! I think she had quite a few tables to deal with. I think she did very well keeping up, considering how busy it was. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and Capo Pale Ale from 50/50. The sandwich seemed pricey until it arrived at the table. It was big. The capo was cold and easy drinking.

Debbie N.

Yelp
I was here last year during the golf tournament so decided to return with hubby. Food is tasty. We ordered the meatball skillet-3 huge meatballs in a yummy sauce with melted cheese and toast. I got the very berry salad the dressing was a perfect compliment to the greens, berries, pecans, and red onions. Hubby ordered a wedge salad which he loved. I ordered a South Lake Tahoe orange blonde beer...so good!!! Food equals 5 stars Service a 3. She recommended a great beer. Took our order and vanished, maybe she was working in more than one area ‍She brought us small plates for the meatballs, someone else brought us our food-rather quickly actually faster than it took her to bring us our water. Will I return? Yes, that beer is tasty and the food was delicious!

Tatiana C.

Yelp
Pretty decent bar food and for a good price. I ordered chicken strips and fries which was delicious. The menu have a ton of options for you to pick from. My blood orange beer was also good! Don't really have much to say just good bar food.

Marilen J.

Yelp
The food is so good. The service is great. The ambience nothing beats the outdoor dining surrounded by nature

Wayne H.

Yelp
We arrived on St Patrick's Day; it was packed! We waited 30 minutes for a table at 4:15pm. Our server was quick and she really knows her trade; she quickly recommend Cali Squeeze (an orange beer that was made green for the special day), and recommended some tasty soup from the menu. That was the best part of our experience at McP's Tap house. Sadly, the restaurant did not offer corned beef and cabbage, a traditional meal that we enjoy on St. Patrick's Day, so we were a bit disappointed. Instead, we settled for a Reuben McP's corned beef sandwich.

Tayler S.

Yelp
Stopped in at this place on our excursion through Tahoe today. Outside seating was available with fire pits but we decided to seat inside and as well fire place was going. Service was reasonable and fast Great variety of beer and drinks and appetizers Average noise level with plenty of rooms for families as well if you're just here by yourself

Danielle I.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for dinner last weekend. We had our dog with us and were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice and offered to bring out a bowl of water for our dog. We ordered a salad to share and we each got the Shepherd's pie. First of all, the salad didn't seem fresh at all. There were several pieces of old spinach that we had to pick out of it. It was supposed to come with Italian vinaigrette, but the dressing was red and tasted like cold vinegary tomato sauce. The Shepherd's pie was terrible. It was very greasy and looked more like lasagna than Shepherd's pie... the meat wasn't good and it was covered in tomato sauce. We both took one bite and couldn't eat it. Since we didn't eat, we didn't have to pay for it. Our waitress was very understanding. The service was fine, but the food was so bad. We won't be coming here again.

Suzanne A.

Yelp
Landed here after we planned on going to the Tipsy Putt for dinner & Putt putt with the teenage niece. But they were closed for a private par-tee. We were immediately seated outside and the ambience was nice. It was a beautiful evening. The food was good, nothing to write home about, the beer was good & cold, the Peary Tasty Martini was delicious! However, what made the evening, was our server Marina. She was friendly & attentive. She gave us recommendations and time to decide. She was really on top of it! Would return based on her service. At the end of our visit, she even escorted the nieces in to buy a T-shirt. Give this girl a raise! Thank you, Marina for your spectacular service !

Jessica F.

Yelp
This place... the ambiance was incredible ! We had the best waitress hands down! We didn't order much as we had eaten before we went. Wanted to listen to live music and hang by the fire pit table. Michelle not only made sure our waters were always full, my dog always had water and love, she always wanted to make sure we were doing ok. Honestly, that's impressive as we have been to other places where two drinks would not have been enough for someone to consistently check in on us. Thank you so much for an amazing evening! It was a beautiful view!

Ivy T.

Yelp
Walked down from our hotel and grabbed a seat outside. It was a lovely evening with the fire pits on each side of our table. Ordered the wedge salad and the Ruben sandwich with a side of onion rings. The salad was refreshing and the rye in the sandwich was great. Our waitress was very attentive and was very good with refilling my ice tea. We were too full but I would have loved to try the desserts.

Patrick A.

Yelp
Many So Cal locals will know McP's from the San Diego/Coronado location. Fun location here in Tahoe to stop in for a beer and pub food. Plenty of big screen TVs around to watch your favorite games. This particular day, the NCAA Womans Tournament was going on, so there was quite a crowd. Ample beer selections for the most savviest beer person! Service is fast and efficient! Enjoy!

John G.

Yelp
Wanted to sit inside but there were no tables available. The wife and I were sitting out on a bench and the hostess saw us and came up as we were about to leave and said a table just opened. Now that's good service! Crustinys are excellent!

Free M.

Yelp
The vibe, price and location was phenomenal... food on the other hand was lacking. Hubby ordered the shepards pie which was really a soggy, greasy, cheesy and TOMATO-EY mess. (LOOKED DELISH!L Such a disappointment The reuben and soup made up for it. ..serice was quick, its a tourist spot ‍

Irwan A.

Yelp
If you are in the mood for great beer, live music, friendly service and to watch your favorite team McPs has it all.....except for the food which fell a little short. Shepherd's Pie- it was ok but it had more cheese than mashed potato so I wasn't sure if I was eating a Shepherd's pie or a lasagne. Mulligan Stew- nice flavor and decent portion in the sourdough bowl but for a meat stew, I don't think 1 piece of short rib constitutes as meat stew. Pastrami Burger- another decent portion but make sure you eat it quickly as the bread slowly disintegrates with each bite; a heartier bread would hold up better to the big patty. Buffalo Wings- standard flavor but small portion size Fries- best thing on the menu for that night!

Jane F.

Yelp
We had a great time at Mc P! Michelle H gave us great service! She was attentive and knew the menu well when we asked for suggestions! She checked on us after we got our food and drinks and gave us a great experience!

Steven D.

Yelp
Bar service was fantastic Bree was a great bar tender and the drinks were fantastic Definitely recommend

Mike C.

Yelp
Nice bar area and a large restaurant area. Service was really good. The shepherd pie was excellent. The burger was really good and the fries were great. We managed to get the couches in the bar area and it was great for us and another couple and allowed us to watch the sporting events were came into watch.

Stacie W.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner on a recent road trip. It was very busy, but the staff was great. We couldn't find parking, so we parked underground and took the elevator up which took us right to the back entrance of the restaurant. They didn't validate parking, which was a bummer and you had to walk through the entire restaurant to the hostess stand. We ordered the pulled pork nachos and the shepherd's pie. Both were really good! The pork on the nachos had great flavor. The shepherd's pie gravy tasted tomato based, which was not expected, but hubby and I still tore it up. LOL!

Julie C.

Yelp
Came here for a work conference and client lunch. Good spot and conveniently located across from Harrah's. Food was good bad food. We had appetizers consisting of the corn dip, meatballs and Buffalo cauliflower. All of it came out hot and with good portions. Service was typical for a bar. Nothing to write about here. Ambiance is good. Again-typical bar. But outside seating is plentiful so on a nice day it's great to sit outside.

Bella H.

Yelp
Atmosphere is fine; waiter is polite; but food is absolutely garbage. The Irish beef pot is dumped with tomato paste and tastes worse than the one from costco. There is barely any beef too. They also charge credit card fee. I do not recommend to come here

Rose B.

Yelp
Stopped for a quick drink and snack. Service was great and the waitress was training someone else! Good job!
