Me-n-Ed's Pizza Parlor

I remember Me-n-Ed's growing up, and I was really looking forward to going, the place, and atmosphere was great, and the customer service was on point, but got home, and it just didn't have that taste I remembered. It was good, just not great, but don't let my review tint you from going, differently give it a try?

There used to be a MeNEds in Santa Ana that was the place to go! So when we saw that there was still one in Lakewood we needed to make the drive over there. Atmosphere was just like I remembered it back in the 80s-90s which was nostalgic. Unfortunately there was no air and needed to sit by a fan to get some air. Service was good. Pizza’s do take awhile to come out but love that you can watch them prepare your pizza just like in the old days!

We had fun trying this place. As soon as we walked in, we could hear a man playing saloon music on the piano. We ordered garlic bread with cheese and a pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Dined in and it came out pretty fast. Nice toppings to cheese to crust ratio. I'd come back and bring friends. Also, this pizza was better than I had in NYC last week.

For those who remember the days of the big 3 pizza parlors, Me & Ed's, Straw Hat, and Shakeys, this spot is a throwback. It takes you back to a simple time when you'd go out with mom and dad, and they'd get a pitcher of beer and the kids got a pitcher of soda, along with pizza of course, while old movie serials played on the screen. The pizza here tastes like it did back in the day, which is delicious! The interior hasn't changed, and neither has the exterior! If you want to take a trip back in time, pack up the kids and check this place out! If you like a blast from the past, definitely check this spot out! The beer is cold, and the pizza and other offerings are delicious! Definitely worth a look!

We periodically travel from Rancho Cucamonga to Lakewood to get Me n Ed’s pizza. We used to enjoy this place on the weekly when we used to live up in the Central Valley. This is the only Me n Ed’s in the area. The way they make the pizza isn’t quite as good as the valley but the flavors are all there. Definitely worth a try if you’ve never had it, but beware, you’ll fall in love.

I don’t know if it’s the owner giving the orders or the workers who aren’t preparing it correctly but the pizza i ate had less sauce, less cheese and less toppings. Before new owner took over each slice you pulled was filled with cheese. I went yesterday 1/19/25 and I didn’t taste the sauce it was dried hardly any cheese! I hate that the Buffalo wings come out first s everything together. I’m so disappointed! When are they going to get it right! I’m a fan since i was 4 years old I’ve been eating Me & Eds by far the worst heartbreak

I have visited Me N Ed's in the Fresno area and was happy to see one on Lakewood. Let's start with the good. The personal (pan) pepperoni was delicious. The crust was delicious and toppings on point. The garlic bites, yummy as well. Fresh, hot, yum. We ordered a meatlovers and a veggie. The toppings were delicious, cheese nicely melted. The thin crusts on them tasted old, too hard. The dough was not fresh. Disappointing. Will give them another try but will order pan to see if it's tastier crust. Total for 3 pizzas and a drink, $63.61. Update. Went this weekend again and the thick crust is the way to go. Not burnt, crispy, and delicious. Thin crust, 2/3 stars, thick crust 4. Will repeat for the thick crust.

What a treat! A transplanted former Californian, miss this style of pizza! This place is an established gem having been there since the 1960’s. Friendly staff, great food. Will return when in the area

Not from the area but was craving some pizza and wings so i wanted to give it a go here, Overall atmosphere of the place is solid old style, fits that good feeling Pizza was pretty decent , not a thin crust lover but if you do this is your spot. Wings were amazing, tried buffalo wings and they were cooked great and the taste was what a real buffalo sauce should be

I have not been to this place in well over 20 years. I wanted to try something different so decided to try this spot out again. It's an old time pizza place where you can see them make your pizza. I treated my son. We decided on a medium thick crust pizza & the sampler of appetizers so we could try a little bit of everything. Pizza was great and so were the appetizers. There is plenty of seating and even live music on certain days. I will definitely be back..

Love this pizza. We ordered delivery at a friend's recommendation and I was so happy with the service. At first bite it had great flavor and texture. The staff on the phone were helpful and not overly friendly (which I appreciate! They are busy!) and the delivery arrived right on time. I have to go dine in soon, I hear they have a couple games for kids in the dining area.

This place has great basic pizza. The thin crust is great, as is the sauce. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. It's very basic but it's great. The salads are good too. This is our favorite close pizza place. I went. to this chain as a kid. So I probably have a soft spot for them. ButI still love them. The irony is I don't like most pizza, but I like their pizza. My wife recently had a birthday party where we bought 10 pizzas and everyone liked the pizza.

I love this place it's been around since I was a child. There is no pizza crust like this in Long Beach or Lakewood. This place has the best pizza in Lakewood hands down if you like a perfectly crunchy crust. There is always families and nice vibes dining in here and the service is exceptional and they have drinks and arcades. This place is a staple in the community and should be tried at least once

Finally we came into this small place to taste their pizza heard great things about it. Overall, Pizza was decent the sampler platter, wings garlic, bread, and potatoes was also decent overall pretty good experience we ordered the deep dish really wasn't that much of a deep dish Pizza maybe just wasn't the place for me. No complaints. The staff is friendly and the business is accommodating with long tables with benches and a couple of arcades machines decent overall experience service was great.

Old stomping grounds.. Best Pizza and staff in the world!!!! It's old family style pizza place with a live piano on Saturday nights. Great pizza to not!!!!

Easy parking lot, can be busy Friday nights and weekends, shared with Billiards next door parking. Came on a Friday night, lively vibes, banjo band playing live music. Dining is dim lighting, some arcade games to keep the kids busy, local families. Lots of tables, even a banquet space you can reserve, good for those pizza party kids soccer/baseball/basketball/football etc. teams Service is friendly and efficient. Chicken wings are yummy, meaty! We love the garlic cheese bites. And the pizza is yummy too! They don't hold back on the toppings, the crust has a perfect crisp, tomato sauce is just right. This is a locals favorite spot, so proud to be patrons of Me & Ed's. We want this to be here forever! Let's support local :D

First impression about this place is wow. The pizza is amazing. The wings are amazing. The garlic bread is amazing. The potato wedges are amazing too. The wings are both crispy and bite sized. The garlic bread is also cooked perfectly along with the potato wedges which is not common. The pizza is best served as a thick crust which makes it chewy. The ranch and marinara sauce are good. Also every Saturday they have live music which adds a nice touch.

Been around for over 40 years! maybe longer. can't go wrongsame taste same good flavor pizzas

Had my end of fall season team celebration (softball) at Me-N-Ed's and our experience was excellent. Reserved the large room to accommodate our team with parents and it was more than enough room. Pizza was amazing and received excellent service. I look forward to coming back soon.

Website rates are for remote (Fresno) location.. Fresno is $20, LBC is $35 Prices for civilized location (LA, Long Beach) are much higher.. Delivery range is less then 4 miles.. Please make separate websites that show TRUE RATES!! Misleading info makes you look like liars!!!

Have been coming to Me & Ed's for over 30 years. Ordered pizza and salad through Door dash. Pizza was great as always. Salad was brown and wilted. I have never had a bad salad from Me & Ed's. Something has changed. I am very disappointed.

Pizza was a higher quality shakeys style.. I loved it but I also love shakeys, which has a special place in my heart, going back to weekly visits to the buffet in the 80s. Guy there was prickly and forgot my garlic bread but I'll overlook that for the tasty pie. For ambiance, place is a total cave - dark and more like a place you'd crawl into to get drunk and stuffed but whatever.. all about the pizza for me. Plus, place is right next to one of my favorite pool halls! I'll for sure be back. Easy 5 star for me but make sure you are expecting a higher quality shakeys or else you might think otherwise.

The pizza is the absolute best, so thin and crunchy with quality ingredients and a whole lot of them, they pile the stuff up on the pizza . The service is fast and friendly, I can't complain. The ambiance is that of an old bar with a beautiful bar inside with beers on tap and huge pitchers of beer on tap . I love this place, I've been coming here for like 40 years .

Very disappointed with this order. I ordered for my family on Mother's Day because their pizza HAD been my favorite. This was my only my Mother's Day present because it was over $90 for two pizzas and a pound of wings, which wasn't a pound at all. I didn't mind because they used to pile on the toppings and cheese so I felt we got our money's worth. But now prices have gone up and yet look at these pieces. Lacking cheese and an abundance of toppings. And for the first time ever, the crust wasn't good at all. I don't know if they changed their recipe but it tasted like frozen/cardboard crust. SO disappointed and that I blew my mother's day present on this that I won't be ordering from them again. Obviously one photo is how they used to do their pizzas and the other one is the Mother's Day photo.

Me n eds pizza is the best pizza anywhere don't tell me about crappy new york pizza. Me n eds in lakewood calif is the original calif pizza and hasn't changed much in the 60 years they have been doing pizza A must have and i recommend the mini pepperoni or actually 3 of them

If you come here 30 mins before closing they will only take to go orders:( looked like a cool hangout. But disappointed.

They get four stars for me because though their menu is limited, what they do, they do well. And by that I mean if you're into pizza and beer or "soft drinks" they got you. it was a throwback for me to the days of Shakey's pizza parlor in Pico Rivera out the family for a birthday celebration. There was always a team of little leaguers there and the self-playing player piano was mesmerizing. Me-N-Ed's is like that. The pizza was average, but points for the extra gooey with cheese and a crunchy crust medium thickness. The tunes were cranking, and I'm not sure if it was a jukebox or the radio, but it added to the merry festivities. Is a place you would definitely bring a group for more fun. I might bring a board game and some friends so I could enjoy a frosty draft. (This visit was in the middle of a workday, so it was soft drinks all around.) The price was unremarkable, which means nobody bitched about it being high. I'll be back.

This place has the best pizza and service. I love the juke box and the atmosphere. Thin crust fills me up better than and pizza place I eat. I recommend this place to food lovers

Pizza just ok. Order the combination. Dark and only 1 tv doesn't have sports. Girl taking orders had no personality and appeared rude. Teach customer service

Very Disappointed. I have been eating here for 55 yrs. It has been my favorite pizza for that long. It's been my B-day dinner for many year. Something has changed and I belive its the dough and maybe other things. The dough used to be nice and crispy but now its doughy. This sadens me greaty, that I am now looking for for a new spot but not sure I can find what Me & Eds use to be in.

This my goto if I'm going to get a combo pizza. I literally make a 50 min round trip get an XL classic combo! If I'm starving they have the pub style benches that are first come first serve eat a slice then take it Togo! They never fuss about grabbing take out but trying the goods. They always seem busy and parking maybe a serious hassle. The ambiance just calls back to pizza parties of my past!

I've been going here for 40+ years and recently something has changed. Seems like the sauce but thought I'm going to wait a while and try it again to confirm. I hope not!

I grew up with Me N Ed's I've got to say I love the pizza, thin Crispy, ingredients are great as well. I used to go to the one in Santa Ana. And now when ever I come visit the in-laws in Long Beach (I live in Riverside) I try and pass for my fill XL to eat in, and one to take home.

Pizza was really good, the only bad thing was that it was very greasy, they have good lunch deals if you order the mini pizza it comes with a Coke & salad

Again, I must praise the pizza chefs for yet another delicious pizza! If you haven't tried this area public house, you're missing out. From the cashier to the excellent delivery driver, we share our enthusiasm for giving Me N Ed's a try.

I came for a taste of home and left with a taste of someone's hair. I grew up with Me-n-Eds in Visalia so I thought of trying the one here in LB, hoping for a familiar taste of some comfort food. Instead I received the vomit inducing taste of several long hairs in my pizza which ruined everything. SO DISGUSTING!!!

This will definitely be the last I come here. I ordered a hot sub sandwich. If you love a soggy grease sandwich, then this is your place. I refused to finish it. So, I grabbed the bag of chips and to my luck, the chips were stale!! "You got to be kidding"!! What a complete waste of food, money and my time. At least the pickle was good!!

I've come here for a while now thanks to my boyfriend. I LOVE Me N Ed's pizza. I've tried many pizza places and would argue that this is the best pizza I've ever had. Not too bready and thick but also not a cracker pizza. Overall just a perfect pizza. I will say they are on the pricier side but you get what you pay for and I'm willing to pay more for a better pizza. I've seen some reviews on here talking crap about Me N Ed's and it made me mad I think they should have be a 4 star at least.

The Owner has forbidden servers to provide water to patrons. I want beverages that are Diet and Caffeine-Free. Diet 7Up Caffeine-Free Diet Coke/Pepsi Me-N-Ed's has NOTHING. So I always drink water. Today the workers told me the Owner has forbidden them to give patrons water glasses. He now wants to force everyone to pay for sugary soda or beer. I asked the bartender to serve me water. He refused. He told me the Owner had forbidden them to serve water. I just talked to another patron who was refused water for her child. This Owner is cruel and disgusting, refusing water to a child. Does he expect the child to drink a beer?

I've been coming here since I was a literal child. I literally grew up in this place. I think they have new owners?? They completely ruined this place. I think they cut the pizza cheese with yellow cheese instead of all Mozzarella? Disgusting. Not mention no water cups?? My son doesn't drink soda. They don't have juice either. Service was rude.... the guy blew up on me over a water cup. lol I've never experienced rude service here... looks the same inside the vibe has always been cozy. Really heart broken about this actually, was excited to share this place with my son. This place was such a huge part of my childhood

Best pizza in town. The Italiano is sooo good. If you're going to dine in, grab a pint and enjoy. The place is an old school parlor which in my opinion adds to the experience. Delivery has been hassle free. There are a few arcade games to keep the kids entertained, so bring change. My kids love the classic pepperoni here. If you already haven't, check it out.

Old fashioned pizza parlor. Plenty of seating. All bench type seating. Lots of families. Pizza is the best in Lakewood.

I went here first time during Super Bowl and it was ok. Nobody was there. Food was good.

this was one of the worst pizzas I have ever had in my life. the crust was like a cardboard hockey puck. can't believe I fell for this place. besides the crust making this unworthy to be called pizza, sauce and pepperoni and sausage and cheese were all trash as well. they just made dominoes into a 5 star italian pizzeria. All pizza lovers stay away.

This is one of the last Mr n Ed's pizza in California. However the pizza does not taste the same as the previous ones. Especially the dough but I went to Bakersfield and they are all over the place . They do taste like the original pizA delicious. This place here not so good. Too bad they closed down the last one in Santa Ana. Been going to Santa Ana since I was 8 years old but Lakewood not so good . They changed their dough.

It's been a few years since coming to MNE - and honestly- they have the same good pizza, good deals, and good service. We had about 20 of us use the back room mid-day for a team luncheon. They accommodated by closing it off and allowing us to spread out back there! While more than 20 of us actually showed up, I'm sure that room can hold 50 people and we were all very comfortable (not all in each other faces). The pizza is always spot on when dining in, covered in toppings and with a nice hand tossed crust. Nothing doughy or "too much edge" just simple, good pizza with fresh ingredients. They have a decent choice of beer in the cooler (or by the pitcher) and soft drink refills are free! Its cool is they still have a few video games in the front of the parlor - as well as tvs showing sports, and a jukebox. Great spot for a group, call them ahead to be sure they have room. This place can still get really busy.

My fiancé and I come here every weekend, we drive an hour from Culver City. We love the food and the employees. I accidentally left my debit card here a week ago and I didn't realize it was lost for a few days. I planned to report the card lost and request a new one. Today, my fiancé and I came to me n Ed's just like any weekend and the cashier and team members handed my debit card and said I left it the last time we came in. They wanted to call but did not have my number. Knowing we are regular customers, then held onto my debit card. I am so relieved and thankful to the entire staff here!!! What a kind gesture !!! We will definitely continue coming back! Nothing beats their pizza and customer service!!!!

3.5 stars I used to LOVE the pizza, but the last 2 delivered were a little soft/not cooked all the way. These pizzas are pretty expensive but used to be worth it. I'm not sure if I'll keep going here at $30 for a large pizza.

Food was decent service was horrible the kitchen messed up my order and asked me if I talked Spanish I replied yes he continued talking to me in Spanish with there wrong order. Embarrassing never coming again paid 120 for a pitcher xl pizza and 6 wings

Pizza was good. My friend order the spicy Hawaiian. The venue was a bit dark for my taste. I prefer brightness when eating.

I love the old school look of this place and the pizza is delicious to boot. I drive from Orange County just to eat their delicious pizza.

Tried to order a simple ham and cheese sandwich. SIMPLE!!!!! But the kid taking my order would not make it like I wanted. Half cold the other toasted. HOW HARD IS THAT??!!! This is after ordering this. Wont be coming back here.

A friend of mine has been coming here for years and told us it was one of the best pizzas, so we went in a group to try it out. Walking in, it's like nostalgia, dark wooden tables, benches, arcades along the wall. Order at the Walk-up counters for pizza and another for drinks. The staff is pleasant, and the place is pretty spotless. Ordered: L- 1/2 cheese & 1/2 mushroom sausage XL- 1/2 veggie no tomatoes or onions & 1/2 spicy Hawaiian but subbed red sauce instead of the white sauce M-pepperoni pineapple XL- 1/2 Canadian bacon pineapple & variety of pepperoni Three salads plus drinks The pizza was good. Would I say it's probably the best? No, I don't think so. But it's very satisfying. They don't skimp on the toppings, which is nice Everyone was raving about the crust, but honestly, it didn't taste anything special..maybe I missed it. It could use a little more sauce.. I like saucer things, but that's just me. Luckily we got there earlier and missed the rush hour, but then they messed up on one pizza, and that took 40 mins to fix since they had so many call-in orders. I would come back if I were in the area

Love Me N Ed's! We're visiting the Lakewood location for a second year. Denise and her staff are amazing and so kind! The food is great, welcome atmosphere, and great live music on Saturday nights! Totally recommend and we'll keep coming back!
