"On any given day, expect to find a long line of cars patiently waiting to order at Meadowlark Dairy. At more than 100 years old, this quaint shop in Pleasanton is the Bay Area’s oldest ice cream drive-thru and is known for luscious, light, and never-too-sweet soft serve. You’ll always be able to find your classic standbys like chocolate or vanilla or more hard-to-find flavors like pineapple or orange. Before you pull up, be sure to check Instagram for daily specials like salted caramel, peach, and honey lavender. Sometimes ordering in the pedestrian line can be faster, but either way, peep their ice cream pint offerings to take one home. (Trust us, you’ll be glad you did.)" - Lena Park

Google
This is the kind of dairy I remember from childhood. We got the soft serve ice cream cones. THIS is what soft serve should taste like. So good! I got the large orange vanilla swirl, which is huge, and ate the whole thing much to my surprise. Great service, very friendly, and downtown Pleasanton is a fantastic place to visit. Thumbs up, a great experience!

Google
Gotta love Meadowlark ice cream. Winter, spring, summer or fall, just make it to Meadowlark for some ice cream. You can drive through (line is long but goes fast) or stand in line (goes by fast as well) and just enjoy the experience. Great prices and the ice cream is worth it. Give a good tip to the students working there!!! (poem) Sticky fingers, messy face, don't you care Happiness in every bite, a flavor to share With a friend or by yourself, it doesn't matter Meadowlark ice cream's the thing that makes life better

Google
This ice cream shop is bussin! No cap. The ice cream is so creamy and delicious, and there are so many flavors to choose from. I love that they have a rotating selection of seasonal flavors, so there's always something new to try. The staff is super friendly and helpful, and they always make sure that I'm getting the perfect scoop. The prices are also really reasonable, which is always a plus. Go experience the vibe.

Google
SF East Bay (Pleasanton). Scratching our head why this place has such a high rating. Chocolate was the only flavor we liked. Orange, strawberry and mango tasted very artificial.

Kiran Elengickal

Google
Love the Ice creams, it’s a must eat ! ..Quick and fast ! There is a drive through option, depending on the time you get here it might be tricky. Price hike Alert, starting June 1st !

Catherine Nguyen

Google
Their soft serve is really delicious! All the fruit flavors are very sherbet-like—creamy and tangy. We highly recommend the pineapple, orange, and strawberry. The wait was pretty short since they had an additional server taking orders and payments down the line.

Google
It’s my first time seeing drive through for an ice cream joint. Their ice cream was so smooth and the sweetness was just right! I thought I could not finish a large cone at first, but the ice cream was so delicious that I had no problem finishing it at all! Salted caramel flavor was the special that day. It’s a must try! There is always a queue but don’t worry as they are very efficient.

Google
Love coming to this place for fresh ice cream with amazing and super fast service. never fails. But this time I tried vanilla and salted caramel and it was pretty good.

Nyan R.

Yelp
The ice cream here is to die for.The ice cream has a unique twist that other ice creams Don't have.It is that it is Soo creamy, that is what I love about it.Personally I would chose vanilla. Or maybe strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla are great. The employees are very welcoming and patient Please share to friends about this amazing place.

Yelp
Anytime passing by Pleasanton, this stop is a must! Nor far off HWY 680 at all! All the staff members are pleasant & helpful. I love the old fashion drive thru. But you can walk up as well! Their ice cream & dairy free options are always delicious The dairy is cute! You can get more than frozen treats, I just never have. Indulge! It's quite a fun experience to me & hopefully to you as well! Enjoy!

Natasha S.

Yelp
Meadowlark has become our absolute go-to neighborhood ice cream spot! You can either drive through (even if the line is long it moves super fast) or stand in line (which also goes by quickly). The ice cream in general is such a great value. I love that they have a rotating selection of seasonal flavors so there's always something new to try. A few of my favorites include mango lassi and pistachio! They also have the classic vanilla and chocolate, plus orange, strawberry, and pineapple vegan options. My standard favorite is the chocolate and vanilla twist! The staff is always very friendly and helpful. You can usually see what's on the menu that day via their instagram. There's no seating at the shop, but there's plenty of outdoor space plus a park across the street to enjoy your treat!

Jacqueline Z.

Yelp
Don't let the long line deter you from trying this famous soft serve place in Pleasanton! I heard about this place a couple years back from a friend who interned in the area during the summer but didn't get a chance to try it back then. Finally, I found myself in the area and knew I had to try it out. During the day, it seemed to be walk up only, no drive-thru. During the night, they open up their drive-thru, so you might find a traffic jam in neighboring streets. I recommend just finding street parking (which there is plenty) and walking up to order. Although long, the line goes by pretty fast. They are efficient here! I got a small chocolate swirl, which they mixed with vanilla. For $3, the amount of soft serve I got was a steal! My partner got a medium for $3.50 and a large is $4. The soft serve was creamy and delicious. They also have sorbet options as lactose free options as well as slushees. Next time I am in Pleasanton, I'll definitely be making another stop here!

KayAnna A.

Yelp
Such a fun place for ice cream! And what makes it even better? Their lactose free options! It's a dream come true. Their pineapple sorbet/lactose free flavor straight up tastes like dole whip and their strawberry was just as fantastic. They do rotate their flavors but they always have lactose free options. Waiting in line is quick and the staff is incredibly fast at taking orders and dishing out finished cones. The ambiance is adorable, all of the cow themed decor and the beautiful hanging umbrellas. Such a fun vibe.

Marlene T.

Yelp
The best in the soft serve game. The lines might look long but they are very efficient and you'll get your ice cream real soon; be patient. It's worth the wait.

Jack H.

Yelp
A gem in downtown Pleasanton. Meadowlark is a staple of the area with their high quality ice cream at a great price. They have unique flavors every now and then, and every day they have a new joke of the day. Line can get incredibly long, but they have a lot of staff members who keep you entertained and the line going quickly.

Prasiddha H.

Yelp
I came here around a 3 pm this last Saturday and let me tell you this was absolutely the place to be! If you are looking for a delicious and refreshing cup or cone of ice cream soft serve you are at the perfect place. The service here was fast and we got to go through the drive through - the vibes here are cute though. We ordered the vanilla - strawberry - orange in a cup and it was delicious! The vanilla was creamy and delicious while the fruity flavors were tart like but sweet. Both were extremely fresh and you could tell it was the real flavors. Me and my fiance finished this so quickly on the drive home this purchase was one of the best this past weekend! At $3 this is actually a steal - we cannot wait to keep coming back whenever in this area!

Candace C.

Yelp
Loved it, no frills great value tasty soft serve. Drive through is typically crowded in the evening since it's a local hangout spot. They close at 9pm and didn't want to wait in drive thru so parked on the street (lots of parking nearby) and walked up. The large is huge haha we got the strawberry, orange and pineapple stack and you can swirl anything with vanilla so also got the small strawberry vanilla swirl. Note you can only swirl with vanilla.

Tiffany N.

Yelp
I can go on and on about how much I love Meadowlark!!! The fact that there's a drive thru, the vibes, the location, the flavors, the price, the quality, AHHH! Everything about meadowlark is just so fun and makes you happy. They have seasonal flavors and post the daily flavors and specials on their Instagram page. I love this concept because it keeps it exciting. I always hype up Meadowlark to everyone and everyone I know agrees that they just have the BEST soft serves. And at the price point?! $3 for a small cone and $4 for the Diablo is unreal!! The vibes are always so amazing! The workers are always sweet, the process is always so easy, and the walk around the area after is the best! Whether you want a quick sweet fix or a nice day out, Meadowlark is a great pit stop!!

Alejandra D.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times since my last review. My new favorite is the diablo. I get the root beer slushy w/the vanilla soft serve. Amazing! Their root beer flavor tastes different from a regular root beer from the grocery store. The flavor is more intense, more flavorful. It appears like it's a cup of slushy with a dollop of soft serve, but to my surprise, the soft serve reached all the way to the bottom.!! This last visit though, the way it was made this time seemed inconsistent w/the last visit. I like to eat mine starting from the side so that I get equal parts slushy and soft serve well when I got to the middle, I could see the cross-section and the soft serve seemed to only start half-way of the cup instead of to the bottom. So that was a bit disappointing. The lines are usually long, car or walk-up but it moves pretty quick. This last visit, my husband and I had finished dinner in downtown Pleasanton and decided to walk here for dessert. The line was SUPER long for a walk-up but we decided to wait b/c I know it's good. There was a guy ahead of us w/his partner and it was his first time coming here (apparently) b/c he kept complaining about how long the line was, and this better be worth it, and I can't believe this, blah blah blah. Dude had me tired, and he was so annoying. Like dude, no one is making you stay in line. you can leave at anyyyyy time. But he didn't leave, so I had to keep hearing him complain. soft serve flavors rotate. Pricing is very reasonable. There was a lady who had just gotten her soft serve, a big size and the whole thing fell on the ground. I saw the staff was quick to pick it up off the sidewalk and give her a new one.

Sherman T.

Yelp
Soft serve by drive thru?! First I've seen of this unique set up and while we didn't drive, we walked up and ordered in person and had a blast observing all the cars rolling through. If it's your first time here, take a look at their menu. It's pretty simple when it comes to soft serve. There are a few flavors to choose from (some are vegan) and a few sizes for each serving (small, medium, large). The sizes varied in the height of the soft serve you got. I would estimate a small is about 3 inches high, medium is about 4 inches high, and a large is about 5 inches high. You may also mix and match up to two flavors if desired. In addition to being served on a cone, you may opt to have it served in a root beer float style called a Diablo. If you're confused or need recommendations, no worries, the staff are AMAZING! Their patience, friendliness, service quality, and speed are all exceptional. The gentleman who helped us remembered our order of five different cones of various sizes and provided really good flavor combination suggestions. I personally ordered the a medium strawberry pineapple cone and it was delicious! The tartness from the pineapple paired really well with the sweetness from the strawberry. It rekindled my memory of the infamous dole whip but this was so much better! There were many folks driving up to place and grab their order and the few folks who walked up ended up strolling along downtown while slurping the delicious treats. As far as I saw, there weren't any indoor seating but there were a few spots to relax outside. But since it's close to downtown, it's a nice walk down to your next destination (perhaps dessert after lunch or before dinner?). Overall, the many thousands of reviews already posted for Meadowlark speak for themselves - this place is legit and you need to march (or drive) your way here and grab a cone!

Tommy W.

Yelp
The soft serve ice cream at Meadowlark Dairy is amazing. The price is reasonable, and the servings are huge. There are several flavors, and you can order half and half on a cone or cup. There are lines for drive-through and walk up. The driving line can be long and may block traffic. Parking can be difficult if you plan to park close by. Service is fast and efficient. I highly recommend Meadowlark for their ice cream. I will be back

Jenn W.

Yelp
Totally lived up to the hype! Still dreaming about the vanilla and chocolate swirl cone that I got.

Cassey-Dee R.

Yelp
My SIL wanted to try this place out and I'm glad we did! 100% worth the drive from San Jose! There is a drive-thru area and walk-up area. The lines for both area get super long but they go by quickly (we came on a Sunday afternoon too)! The services was fast, friendly and very efficient. They do accept cash and card, but I recommend paying in cash so you can tip them! Parking can be difficult to find (especially when it's busy) in the area but if you're not looking to sit around, the drive-thru would be the best option. My brother and my daughter ordered the half vanilla, half chocolate on a cone and me and my SIL ordered half vanilla, half strawberry on a cone. It's so simple but AMAZING. The strawberry taste like actually strawberry and not artificial. The price is very affordable and the servings are huge! All together for 2 medium cones and 2 small cones, I paid under $15.00- maybe event under $10? 10/10 would recommend this place!

Cristina C.

Yelp
I absolutely love Meadowlark! Anytime I'm in Downtown Pleasanton I try to stop by rain or shine. They have a drive thru, but also have a walk up line. You are able to enter the drive thru from either side of the lane which is great. The staff is pretty quick on taking your orders. I was still on the street when the staff was asking what I wanted which I thought was great and it makes things go by quicker. I was in and out within 5 minutes and was on my way. In addition to selling ice cream they also sell items like milk and cereal like a small deli mart. They had vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, pineapple, and orange when I went. You can get a small, medium, or large cone or cup. You can also get any 2 flavors in a swirl which is great! I got the pineapple ice cream cone and OMG it tasted like the dole whip ice cream from Disneyland. If you're ever in the area go and check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Natasha J.

Yelp
Came here after running a 10k and was probably one of the best soft serves I've ever had! Meadowlark is a cute little shop in downtown Pleasanton and they have a drive thru lane which is really convenient! Service is 10/10 and our soft serves were brought out really quickly despite the Saturday afternoon crowd. I tried the strawberry soft serve and it's nothing like I've had before. It was slightly tart, sweet and tasted just like fresh picked strawberries. It didn't have the artificial strawberry flavor that a lot of other ice creams have. I'll definitely be coming back and 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a fresh treat in the sunny weather.

Thomas B.

Yelp
Our daughter is a brilliant and dedicated foodie. She had this lil' gem as a recommendation one day as a nice drive on family day. It was welcome and surprising. As we pulled up to the festive drive up, we could see how popular this soft serve ice cream looked. Whether cup or come all had happy faces. The line for window orders was about 4 cars but fast. They have plenty of outside people to gather the orders before reaching the window. The walk up window service line was longish ... about 20 people, mostly high schoolers I imagine. The is cream we got and shared was perfect. And the flavors bold. We loved all we tasted. I had the strawberry Pineapple swirl in a cup. My wife had a massive Chocolate, Orange, Vanilla in a cone, and our daughter had the Pineapple Orange swirl in a cup as I recall. We were all smiling and remembering the good ole days. The prices are great and I think, all the ingredients are locally sourced for the ice cream. Its a lovely old timey town with a special vibe worth the drive. Big thanks to my girls for a great day.

Ashley V.

Yelp
So grateful for my dental hygienist who told me about this place. LOL LITERALLY the best ice cream. Pineapple tastes just like Disneyland's Dole Whip. The line is so long but it moves quick. Love that you don't have to get out of your car but you can if you want to and go to the park across the street. It's just a cute little old dairy with super friendly teens giving good customer service!

Jasmyn F.

Yelp
Ice cream is delicious and the prices are great. The cons are that parking is challenging and the drive thru line is long. We went on a Friday that wasn't particularly warm, so I can only imagine how packed it is on a warm summer day! Looking forward to coming back for a yummy sweet treat :)

Maggie W.

Yelp
My friend spoke very highly of this place, saying that the soft serve here is unparalleled. I stopped by downtown Pleasanton to meet with a group of coworkers & then went to my friend's birthday!! We came around closing time on a Friday/8:40 PM when it closes at 9 PM, and there was still a line & people were being told that it was closed. They post their monthly flavors on their Instagram. The way it works is that one of the workers comes up to your car and takes your order, sort of like In N Out and Chick Fil A. Looking at the road design stressed me out- it felt like there was no room whatsoever for cars who wanted to eke by the long line of people waiting to get into the drive thru line from downtown Pleasanton. I opted to split a small vanilla chocolate swirl with my friend, since I wanted to experience their more classic flavors (& since the other ones were vegan/nondairy). As a baker & matcha latte enjoyer, I know that the quality of dairy can make or break a lot of recipes!! My friends got the lemon and orange/strawberry, if they're unable to make a swirl they actually layer the ice cream on top of one another which is interesting. We were bummed that the orange guava sold out, but each of the fruity flavors was amazing as well. Not totally sorbet-like in texture, it did almost have a creamy flavor. How do they do it?! Overall a really good experience, I'm sure that the ice cream helps beat the Tri Valley heat during the summer.

Latrese P.

Yelp
I came with a few co workers one afternoon. They have a drive through portion and walk up and enjoy the sunshine since it was a nice day. We walked up and before I could even look at their menu we were greeted by workers. I believe there was a person for each of us that took our order. Order came out fast. I stuck with my usual chocolate, but they have various flavors to choose from.

Nina V.

Yelp
This is one of the most unique places to get ice cream that is delicious and super affordable! I came for the first time on a Sunday afternoon a couple weeks ago and it was a hot day. The drive thru and walk up lines were massive!! We were almost discouraged to stay in line. However, after 10 minutes we started moving so quickly forward. There must've been a big group holding up the line. The workers are extremely efficient and get your order as soon as they can, then there are people inside prepping your ice cream. I probably got my ice cream 2-3 minutes after placing my order. Got the medium size and I could choose 4 flavors. I chose strawberry, orange, vanilla and chocolate. There was also watermelon and pineapple flavors from what I remember. All of them were so good! The fruity ones were refreshing. Orange was tart but in the best way. The cone was crunchy and tasty. There's a nearby park that you can enjoy your ice cream at. I'd recommend bringing a picnic blanket to relax on.

Yash P.

Yelp
Meadowlark is a place you need to bring anyone who's visiting the area. It's been one of my favorite ice cream spots since school days, and the quality has always been fantastic. Follow their Instagram to hear about the limited flavors and pints. I unfortunately missed the Honey Lavender but will keep posted to try that out. I got a Cookies and Cream pint and the quality was great while the prices were very reasonable.

Charae P.

Yelp
Always love driving through meadowlark when in the area. The line wasn't long since it was a Monday afternoon, and a bit rainy yesterday. So service was quick! The place still looks the same over the years, cute barn theme. Hoping soon they will extend their spot with comfortable seating and tables. Maybe extend their menu a little more too! The icecream isssss sooo good per usual and we were truly happy!

Farhana M.

Yelp
Be sure to tip the hard working teenagers who keep this place in tip top shape, especially now that the weather is really warming up! They put really cute umbrellas as decorations here. My partner got the diablo berry with pineapple ice cream and it was delicious. Super sweet and fruity. I got the large chocolate vanilla swirl in a cup for $4, next time i'll do just vanilla as this tasted better than the chocolate

Christina N.

Yelp
Sizes are huuuuuuge, I'm happy with just a small. We got a pineapple and strawberry/vanilla swirl. Always delicious, creamy, rich and not too sweet. You can get a free vanilla pup cup and Maximus (pictured) loved it. Follow their instagram for updates on special flavors they come out with!

Aakrati K.

Yelp
Amazing drive thru, classic 80's ice cream experience. Long lines but very quick moving. Highly recommend vanila and strawberry combo. Strawberry on its own is too tart. Chocolate one standalone is excellent too.

Haruna K.

Yelp
There is a line but you don't have to wait too long on Saturday afternoon because many stuff are working. There is a small park right front of the store so it is good to eat the ice cream there. I tried milk and chocolate and it was delicious. Some people were ordering all flavor soft serve and I want to try it next time.

Anthony B.

Yelp
If I had a choice between ice cream and soft serve, I would normally choose ice cream every time. But this place is special. Like I jumped in a time machine and was taken back to 1960, where the quality of ingredients was just better. Nothing fancy here. Just good ole American soft serve done right. Intensely creamy and superior taste. If it ain't broke don't fix it. It's amazing how something so simple can taste so good. Even the ambience felt so old school with its drive in service and friendly staff. I'll be coming back again and again.

Allyson U.

Yelp
I've been meaning to venture out to Meadowlark, but haven't had the chance to do the drive. My family and I were in Dublin and craving soft serv, and I jumped at the opportunity to visit. We arrived, on a cold and rainy day, to a long line of cars queuing for the drive thru. I don't have the patience to sit in an idling car, so we parked across the street, along the creek. There were several spots open. Since it was rainy, there wasn't much of a line, but after we got in line the line picked up. We waited for about 5 min before the staff person asked us for our order. I ordered the vanilla/chocolate swirl (small) and my aunt ordered the pineapple. My cone was perfect and creamy. However, my aunt's cone really stood out as it was creamy and had a tasty tart pineapple flavor. I will note that pedestrians should be conscious of the drive thru area. There were a couple instances where cars seemed to get a little too close to staff and/or customers. While I'm not sure I'd make a trip out here just for the ice cream, I would definitely make it a point to come here whenever I'm in the area.

Gokul V.

Yelp
Meadowlark is the best soft serve in the Bay Area. It's not only fresh, but the service is amazing and quick. There's no lack in quality even with the fast service. If you're ever driving by or through the town, I'd highly recommend stopping by and getting a soft serve. You won't regret it!

Saurabh D.

Yelp
If you ever find yourself driving through the Pleasanton area on a hot day, there's nothing better than making an ice cream stop at Meadowlark Dairy. The prices are definitely a steal for what you are getting. $3 for a small, $3.50 for medium and $4 for a large! That's un-heard of nowadays. Additionally you can get as many flavors as you like. We ordered Vanilla, Strawberry, and Orange. The Vanilla was nice and creamy, where as the Strawberry and Orange flavors had more of a tangy taste and were more sorbet. The combination however was great in every bite. With Meadowlark Dairy you can either drive-through or order in-person. While the service was great with the drive-through, there is a lot of traffic due to its popularity. To the point where we were stuck at an intersection for over 10mins. Ideally it's better to park and walk up. While I ordered from the car, passing by the ambiance looked very cute with the floating umbrellas, and has an "old-school" vibe.

Nina D.

Yelp
THIS WAS PHENOMENAL!! I have not had soft serve that is this smooth and creamy. I got the chocolate vanilla swirl and this place lived up to the hype. I asked to have it on a cone in a cup just to make it less messy. I recommend crushing the cone into the soft serve (simply perfection). I also had a taste of the Diablo (chocolate vanilla soft serve with blueberry slushy) which was soooo good. If you mix it in well, it's delicious and not too heavy. The staff was also super friendly and made our orders super quickly! There is no seating unfortunately so we ate ours in the car

Kyra K.

Yelp
Born and raised in the East Bay, I'm still shocked I'd never heard of Meadowlark until I saw Bay Area Yelpers post about it. My only regret is not going sooner because this is the best soft serve in the Bay Area that I've had! This is a popular spot for patrons to grab a simple sweet treat--soft serve! Their easy-to-read menu offers three sizes, limited flavors, and specialty flavors or treats like slushies. The establishment is a well-oiled machine with plenty of speedy staff doing a great job at turn-around. The process is simple: opt for the drive-through or walk up, place and pay for your order, and enjoy your sweet treat! I'll never say no to soft serve but as someone who doesn't have dairy--finding dairy-free items is difficult. I'm grateful Meadowlark had multiple vegan flavors on the menu. I chose a Small Vegan Chocolate and Strawberry in a Cone. It was creamy, delightful, and inexpensive for what you get. My Dad chose a Small Cone too and devoured it. Meadowlark Dairy is a long-running Bay Area staple for soft serve! Located off W Neal Street you can find it quite easily as there's usually a lone drive-through and walk-up line. I can't wait to be back and grab my hands on another one of their delicious cones!

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Meadowlark Dairy is located on the corner in the downtown Pleasanton area. This is a busy area and it is street parking here, so parking may be hit or miss, hence the convenient drive-thru here. The drive-thru goes out into the street most nights, but the line goes by pretty quickly, as there are several employees standing by and coming up to your window to take your order. Even though it was raining the day I came, it was very busy and the line still went out of the lot - the employee helping me was not that friendly nor welcoming, but probably because she looked like she was sick and had to work a busy/rainy shift regardless. Aside from that, the ice cream cones were of course aesthetically pleasing/photogenic for photos and they were pretty big - the price raised only slightly from a few years ago, as it was still fairly cheap, I got a medium for only $3.50. I ended up getting a strawberry and vanilla swirl in a cone because they did not have this combo last time. I enjoyed it for the most part, until part of the vanilla ice cream started to taste like pineapple ice cream (it probably got mixed in there somehow), which kind of sucked. I honestly enjoyed the vanilla part (minus the parts of it that tasted like pineapple) a bit more than the strawberry, but it was still a refreshing treat.

Yelp
I was excited to try Meadowlark after seeing it so many times on instagram. This place is definitely popular! There was a long line in the drive through at 7pm so we opted to wait in line outside. There was only one party ahead of us so we only had to wait a few minutes. Since it was my first time coming here, I wanted to try the classic vanilla and chocolate swirl. It was good! The price was very reasonable for the generous portion. It took me back to when I was a kid when I used to eat Wendy's frostys -except it was in the form of soft serve. Next time I will try some of their other flavors like pineapple. Overall a good sweet treat!

Anita T.

Yelp
Meadowlark is a very cute ice cream shop that has a drive thru for quick service! It's the perfect place to stop for a sweet treat. They update their flavors regularly and you can find out what new flavors they have on their instagram @meadowlarkdairy

Monica Bianca N.

Yelp
I LOVE MEADOWLARK! I live about 30 minutes away, but if Meadowlark has a new flavor they announce on their Instagram I make my way out there if possible. It is some of the best ice cream around. You can come and the line could be daunting, but don't worry too much. The service is quick, and they know what type of crowds they deal with so they have their system down to a T. If you have a dog, they offer a free pup cup. Just need to ask! You can order from your car and go through the drive through or get out and order underneath the cute umbrellas. It makes you feel like you've been transported to the olden days with the dairy drive thru.

Alan A.

Yelp
I agree with the other customer. Why did this place have good reviews. The ice cream is a sloppy mess, portion is small not large like the pictures they post. Young kids serving you that don't know how to give you the right size that you pay for. Maybe the owner should train them better, and buy them a scale to weigh the ice cream in the cup. Their ice cream has no flavor. I'm going back to Yogurt Part in Berkeley they always serve the right portion and flavors are always on point.

Yelp
Ordered the pineapple ice cream and it was sooo delicious! Will definitely be back to try other flavors! Very good value too!

Yelp
Visited Meadowlark Dairy for the first time. I've passed by several times, but never went because the lines were always soooo long. I braved the line and they are super quick to take your order. They have the drive thru line, people taking the order on the street drive up, and people come in the line to take your order. Most of the flavors can be swirled unless the staff tells you otherwise. I got a medium chocolate and vanilla swirl in a cone. The cost was 3.50. The person who took my order was super friendly and I handed him my card while I was in line so he would swipe it. The ice cream was super yummy and not too sweet. The cone tasted really fresh! I would definitely come back again especially since I know the long line isn't really that long due to their efficient ordering system!

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my family and got assistance immediately. You can either line up to order or order from your car. While we were looking for parking, someone even came out to see if they could help us (great service). We ended up parking and ordering in line. I got a small strawberry and vanilla soft serve, which was really creamy and not too sweet! My sister got a small orange and vanilla soft serve, which she said tasted like a creamsicle. Also it was really cheap at $3 a cone. The worker brought the ice cream out quickly and we ate it around the corner. Highly recommend trying if you're craving ice cream! It's cheap and delicious with great service - what more can you ask for.

Yelp
While driving through the adorable downtown Pleasanton, one will run into a traffic jam of 12 cars or more in the center turn lane. No, it's not a traffic jam, it's a LINE to the Meadowlark Dairy! You will see a flurry of activity, with young staffers taking orders and directing traffic like real pros. It's far busier than an In-and Out Burger drive thru at dinner time! We decided to walk up, my husband started a timer, and after 21 minutes, he came away with a shockingly delicious 50/50 orange/vanilla cone. It looked beautiful and was delicious! They have such a wonderful spot, like a rural dairy and grocery market in the middle of downtown. We loved it, and so does everyone else. Vegan options were totally available!

Yelp
This place is a must if you're ever in Pleasanton. At first the line can seem intimidating, in a car or outside (we were outside), but it actually goes by very fast! Lots of flavor combinations you can choose from and they even have rotating seasonal flavors. I went with cookie butter and the 4 of us all got different flavors, they were all very tasty!! I'll come back my next visit, rain or snow, it's worth it!

Yelp
I adore this laid-back outdoor spot for its scrumptious soft-serve ice cream. If you want a nearby place to savor your frozen treat, head across the street to the local theater/park where you can find a makeshift bench! The service here is speedy and friendly as well. You can even purchase pints of your preferred flavors. I wish they provided the choice to customize a pint with your favorite mix or offered a selection of popular mixes in pint size!

Yelp
I was completely unaware of this ice cream shop when I visited Downtown on a weekend. There was a huge line and the road was blocked by vehicles. I was wondering what is so special about this. I didn't try it on that day itself as I didn't want to stand in line for 30 minutes or so for an ice cream. So, I went on Saturday morning around 11 and there was no line. I tried the drive-thru and I wish they had a menu board rather than the person dictating it. I ordered a Pineapple and banana and chocolate combination. The Pineapple was a Dole Whip and it is perfect as usual. The Banana and chocolate combination is also good, not too sweet and I can see it fresh. The best of all is the price, the small cup is just 3$ and the size is too big. In my view, I see it as a big size. The price for that quality is too low. I would buy it every week if I was nearby. Totally the best ice cream with the lowest possible price ever.

Yelp
I LOVEEEEE MEADOWLARK DAIRY!! It is my favorite place to go in Pleasanton. I swear there are always people lined up, but they are super quick to take your order/give you your order. I believe it is $3 for a small right now and it's honestly so much ice cream. It is worth it! I like that Meadowlark also offers non-dairy options (typically a fruit flavor). It is nice when I don't feel like getting a stomachache from being lactose intolerant haha. Very yummy and affordable :-) my favorite ice cream

Yelp
$3 for a small cone of deliciousness?? YES PLEASE! Got the vanilla pineapple swirl, and was surprised at how much a SMALL serving is. Great price, friendly service, and wonderful quality! Will visit again to try other flavors.

Yelp
We first came here almost a decade ago but not much has changed! They have a drive thru still which is now crucial for us with two kiddos. We saw a long line at a walk up window but barely had a wait in the drive thru at all! They had people taking orders and have a menu in front of their tablet but it was all folded and crumpled so it was difficult to read. We just ordered a small cone of strawberry & pineapple swirl which was so pretty! They do a rotating extra flavor too and this time it was pumpkin spice but I was hoping it was honeydew that I saw on their instagram recently. Definitely recommend following their page to see what they are offering! When we were waiting for our cone I noticed the "Diablo" which is a slushy with any flavor ice cream which sounded so good! They only had berry or root beer for the slushy though and it comes in one size only. The berry was good but definitely on the sweeter side so I liked that the vanilla soft serve made it creamier.
