Good food: enjoyed the tartare, octopus, edamame, and grilled green peppers. The burger was juicy but drowned in ketchup. Sadly, the staff was disappointing — inattentive and disorganized, had to repeat requests multiple times. Solid 3 out of 5. P/s And you respond to the review, about the same as the service without looking, were you an hour ago, it says review time:))))) good luck to you

Amazing atmosphere, awesome service. Would recommend to anyone visiting Riga and looking for timeless food with Latvian taste. Just bread and butter was to die for. Meat was great but the mushroom sauce was 10/10. Thank you

Yesterday we visited the meat chef after reading the reviews written by others. We had high expectations. We were really hungry so we ate quickly, but the food wasn't great to be honest. Would not go here a second time. Generally all of the food was lacking any taste. And the main course which we had high hopes was the biggest disappointment. We had the filet from Argentina and I ordered medium rare, got medium. My other half ordered medium and got well done. At least this is what we think happened because the steaks were maybe given to the wrong person since I first got the more cooked one and I ordered the more rare one. We switched the portions right after we noticed this. But not only was the beef not cooked the right amount, there was a lack of taste and it was like chewing gum, not tender at all. Big disappointment. I cook better steaks at home. The service was good but the food is the main thing of course in a restaurant and after spending 135€ here, we were left with a not so great experience.

I never post negative reviews on restaurants, but our visit to MeatChef was very disappointing. I don't know if we caught them on a bad day, but our experience did not live up to our expectations, or the prices. We were seated inside, but it was unusually hot in there, the AC must have been broken or something. We kindly asked for a table outside. We were seated outside and waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our order. It started pouring down raining so we had to ask to be seated inside again, and another waiter (who was a lot friendlier) seated us inside again. It was a whole 55 minutes from seating until food was delivered. Due to the confusion of the seating, we could forgive the wait, but our waitress rarely came to check on us or deliver our drinks. Unfortunately, my partners steak was completely raw (he ordered medium rare ribeye), which wouldn't have been a problem in and of itself, but when we told the waitress she had a bit of an attitude and claimed it was medium rare. She told the other friendlier waiter, and he gracefully took the steak back to be cooked more, this time with the right temperature. Unfortunately, my steak was completely raw on one side, but I didn't notice until half of it was eaten, so I didn't complain other than politely let them know at the end of the meal. The rest of the food was alright, with the exception of the fries with truffle mayo, which were amazing. Overall, we were disappointed by our first dining experience in Riga. Food was alright, but not worth the price, and the waitress who tended to us unfortunately seemed rude and inattentive.

Usually people like to check the menu from online before going to the restaurant, not everybody but still. After checking the online menu we had decided what we wanted to eat, the restaurant menu prices wore 6e more expensive. I asked how is this possible and the waiter responded "online prices are online prices", like....what? They also had choices to have between 100-300g fillets, well that was not the case since the answer when ordering 250g was "its sold out". How can meet be sold out if you have meet and a knife? I told the waiter all this and we left because that was not the way how you should run a restaurant. Please be careful with the prices in this place.

Hello everybody. This place is already one of my favourites. If you’re looking for steak 🥩 this is the place. As a starter fried Camembert with apple cranberry jam, venison carpaccio, beef tartar. I recommend Uruguay, From USA, and you should definitely try 🥩 from Latvia - ask it to be without fat. As a side , fried mushrooms, oven roasted vegetables, Greek salad , fried potatoes. Pepper sauce is a must , to enjoy full experience. As a desert , maybe try pecan pie , or this cheese cake I had last time on that picture. Vine selection isn’t that bad. Red Chile or Argentinian goes good with 🥩
