We have been here a number of times. In between those visits, we did come across meat that was "hard" (not melt in the mouth) but still tasty. No complaints there. However, today's visit in celebration of advance Mother's Day, it was a very disappointing experience with the food. Service wise excellent, no complaints! The lamb shank and beef brisket feels like a 2 day old being in the smoker. The outer layer are "hard", the meat is so dry., the taste wasn't like before. Even my favorite garlic didn't taste the same. We heard the next table mentioned the same about the meat to the server. We love this place, hope you guys don't serve few days old meat..

I recently visited Meat Moot Chicago and had the pleasure of trying their lamb neck and beef ribs—both were absolutely phenomenal! The lamb neck was perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with incredible flavors that left me wanting more. The beef ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious, with just the right balance of smoky, juicy goodness and a beautifully caramelized crust. The quality of the meat and the attention to detail in the preparation are truly next-level. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience memorable. If you’re a meat lover, this place is an absolute must-visit. This was our first visit, and it was an amazing experience! The service was excellent, and the servers were so friendly. I loved that they welcomed us with a complimentary taste of their brisket—it was absolutely delicious! We ordered the lunch specials: brisket and lamb. My husband and I savored every bite. The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and flavorful—like candy with just the right amount of spices. We’re definitely coming back with friends and family!

The service was attentive, friendly, and very helpful. The food was so good. Everything was full of flavor and extremity tender. You can eat the brisket with no teeth. If they ask you if you want to add honey.... the answer is yes! They will forr sure see me again.

I finally got to try the famous Meat Moot. It’s good! Service is excellent. The meat is perfectly cooked…it seems that the meat is cooked with minimal to no seasoning. They give you spices to add that are good. All the sides are free and unlimited - pretty good. The place is spacious and clean. It is not fast food and it is not fine dining. It is a good meal especially on a weekday when you do feel like cooking. I’d go back.

Omg, is all I can say. I never even heard of this place before I was invited to go there last night. My date almost chose to go somewhere in my neighborhood of Hyde Park but was worried the traffic on I-55 would be brutal because of the snow. After checking the time on maps (26 minutes) we went for it. We arrived around 7:30 and only one other party --a rather large one-- was already seated. Our gracious host, Mustafa, seated us and explained how the ordering process works. We check out the menu, figure out what we want and then head on over to the ordering counter. Meat Moot is a halal, smoked meat metropolis where the "Meatier" performs a spectacular show while plating up your order. The large party beats to the counter so we had to wait about 10 minutes to place our order, but we were treated to the Flaming of the Meats spectacle since they had such a large and varied order. And what a show it was. The "Meatier" retrieves the selected meats from the smoker and while they are still wrapped, he sets them on fire with a military-grade torch, then he unwraps the meats, places it on the scale then plates it up with Meat Moot's exotic spices and a healthy drizzle of honey. Next, the servers brings the platter to the table along with various sides, sauces and drinks (no alcohol served here). We ordered the brisket and beef ribs which were oh-so-tender and seasoned perfectly with a tasty, but not overwhelming level of smoke. We were happy and completely pigged out while still having enough left over for each of us to take home. At one point a photographer came over and all I heard was "free" and postcard" so I said yes. At the end of our meal she came back with the postcard and what looked like a program book from a concert, but with my pic in it, for $15. I didn't want to seem cheap but I just wanted the free postcard. But get your hustle on girl, I ain't mad. Three more large parties arrived while we were eating and everyone was having a great time. The ambiance and decor is not what you call sexy, but it's definitely warm and inviting. Mustafa was very nice and took his time explaining everything on the menu and checked on us regularly. I'd love to come back here for a GNO or with a large group for a special occasion. Gold Star for Meat Moot!

Going to this place was a little outside of my comfort zone because I'm not familiar with this type of cuisine, but I'm so glad we went! The staff was very nice in explaining to us how to order. You wait in line and then order your meats by weight. If you were lucky like us, you got to see them do a little flame show. There's seasoning and a glaze they offer to put on the meat and I highly recommend getting this! Once you are seated they bring out the all the different sides. The flavor was awesome. Meat smokey and tender and we ended up with plenty leftovers that reheated pretty great.

Everything was amazing. Service and atmosphere and food. My only complaint is I should have shared it with a friend. Enough food easily for 2-3. Definitely would like to return.

So I've been dying to get to this place since I heard their only US location was iin the Chicagoland area. It was a different dining experience. I opted for the $19.95 lunch special which includes your choice of brisket or lamb shank, drink and unlimited sides ( ordinarily they sale the meat by the lb at about $45/lb with unlimited drinks and sides included). The dinner also had beef ribs. I will say this... the meat was very good. At the recommendation of the man behind the counter, I chose the brisket. It was more like a chuck roast, but if it was, it was the best roast I've ever had. I'll definitely return. The flavor of the meat was outstanding. Went with a friend who is vegetarian and she was able to just get unlimited sides for $7. I felt sorry for her bc the sides were just sort of a distraction. I almost forgot the honey drizzle they put on the meat! Sounded strange but I LOVED IT!!!!

One of the very best restaurants I've been to in a long while!! The restaurant was filled with great energy! The staff and server were amazing!! They were very friendly and were always happy to help us choose from the menu!! It was the first time we've been there and we loved it!!! The meat portions were perfect and extremely delicious!! It definitely was a great experience, my husband and I are going to go back gain room try the rest of the menu items they had!! I definitely recommend it!!!!

The lunch deal here is great, for $20 you get to choose lamb or brisket, and you still get unlimited sides. I got the lamb shank lunch deal; the lamb fell right off the bone, and was deliciously spiced, with a touch of honey which complemented the meat very well. Check this place out for lunch!

The meat here is very tender and well-seasoned. I got the beef brisket to share with a friend and it was plenty of food for two. Honestly, it could be enough food for three as there was some left over. The sides were very fresh, however, some of it was a bit bland/under-seasoned. Better than being too salty though! Overall, this is a nice casual place to get fresh, good quality food.

Really! A great surprise for a visit to Chicago Midway airport. Meat Moot is an international smokehouse franchise offering Halal meat, aka smoked Lamb and Beef. I enjoyed the lamb neck dusted with their spice blend and drizzle in honey. My copilot had the brisket. The sides come all-you-can-eat with an assortment of middle eastern fare. I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the price. Yes, I know it's a smokehouse, but I was caught off guard. Next time make it more obvious what I'm paying. Even still, I'll be back.

Came here to try their beef brisket! And it was soooo good. The meat was so juicy and flavorful. They let you try it before you get it and it was one of the most delicious things I put in my mouth. You just pay for the meat and they will bring it to the table. All sides, drinks, and sauces are unlimited and all inclusive with the meat. The sides include rice, salad, mashed potatoes, bunch of veggies. Wish they had fries and mac and cheese but everything was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place if you like smoked meats! And for sure coming back!

Definitely not what I expected. Middle Eastern food, very tasty, the host was very helpful in helping me pick out an appropriate dish for two. Ambiance was good, clean place and pleasant. My son was expecting more of a smoked BBQ place but was not that. Meat was very tender and juicy, I loved the honey. All the sauce seemed a little extra not for my tasting. Coleslaw and rice were good too. Did not fully enjoy my food for the price $90 for two.

Come here for the meat. It's amazing. We went on the 4th and it was not busy we were warmly welcomed and given a sample of the brisket. Unlike Texas style brisket this is more slow roasted and falling apart. If you look up the traditional Turkish Tandir you can see how it's slow roasted. With the meat they freshly seasoned comes tomato, sweet roasted garlic, potatoes, and peppers. My husband got Beef Brisket and I opted for Lamb Neck. The meal also includes spiced rice, salad and many sauces. I liked the dynamite sauce in particular. Only issue, it's about 55 miles from where we live.

I was looking through the menu. It was a bit out of my price range. I am a single person, but they have a fantastic lunch menu from 12 to 3. I picked up the lamb special it was in my price range. It was great. It was more like for two person when I go there again to try to beef special definitely a five star review

It's so easy to see this nondescript place and think this is just another eatery. But taste their succulent, fall of the bone meat, and you'll know this place is SO. MUCH. MORE!!! The meat is seasoned to perfection. The hospitality is truly remarkable. The ambience is great. The prices may seem hefty, but keep in mind that the the price includes unlimited sides and drinks. The sauces are phenomenal. And the personnel are really hospitable, welcoming, professional, soft-spoken and sweet. The experience is really top-notch. I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough!!!

Interesting spot....friend suggested it. Friendly servers, nice and clean. Open space very different. That said. $45 by the pound for the meat. All the Meats were similar in price. What was most interesting was there was minimal small of food in the place. Fascinating! Hardly any aroma. I'm a grilled and if you tell me you have authentic smoked meat, I should smell SOOMETHING. WITH THAT SAID, we ordered the lamb ribs. Very, very moist, kinda fatty for me. The arugula salad and all the other add ons were interesting. Whole garlic gloves, first time I saw that, all the sauces were interesting, half I didn't use.

Going to preface this review by saying this is easily a 5 star restaurant. The food is AMAZING. This is part of a chain present in other places in the world. The Meir niche is smoked meats. You enter, order the meats that you want, don't worry about appetizers because everything is included in the price of what you order meat wise. They do a little show for you as they weigh the meats and spice them. Everything is pre-cooked and smoked for 14+ hours, and stored in their ovens. We had 1/2 lbs of brisket, 1lbs lamb shank, and 1lbs of beef ribs. The meat is literally fall of the bone tender. Then they add all the appetizers to the nice stone trays, you pay and they take the food to your table. Very quick service and simple process. The food is phenomenal. Literally. Everything is cooked and spiced to perfection. The rice is authentic middle eastern. There are about 14 dips to try. My personal favorite having grown up with this kind of food is the yogurt one. We were 4 adults and 2 kids, and 2.5 lbs was the correct amount for us. The price is very reasonable. The value is there 100%. The place itself is very well appointed, with comfortable decor and furniture. Excellent job on all aspects. Need another location closer to us in the west suburbs!!!

The guy preparing our food was very helpful and patient. Our portions were great and the lamb was delicious, juicy and tender and the sides are good, too! It is pricey but worth it. I love the Middle Eastern flavors in the seasoning they put on the meat and if you like trying the food of other cultures, you will enjoy it. If you don't like lamb they have beef brisket which is just as delicious and tender as the lamb. The restaurant has a comfortable family style seating and atmosphere. I'm so glad we discovered Meat Moot and I highly recommend them!

Meat was very good but if you are offering all you can eat sides they should be better omg the side were not good at all. Salad was blah the rice was bland the mash potato's was barely ok could have used more flavors and the potato's were ok. If i'm gonna be charged so much for meat because sides are free at least make the sides good. Because it really wasn't worth the money with those sides And no bread or flat bread or anything like that?

First time diners. Service was friendly and fast. We ordered the beef brisket and beef ribs. Also included was rice, various salads and sauces, and drinks. Meat was juicy and delicious. It was lacking some More seasoning like salt and pepper. Unfortunately, we were told to order more pounds of meat than we really needed. We brought home a lot of food to have another day for dinner. $45/pound is pricey but the large portions will cover another day of dinner for the family.

The food here was amazing! The smoked meat was fall-off-the-bone tender. It was full of flavor so you don't need the dipping sauces it comes with, but we enjoyed dipping it and exploring different flavors. If you order the meat (by lb), it comes with some sides like mashed potato and salad. The plate also came with potatoes, garlic, roasted tomatoes, etc. the service was fast (we went on a random weekday afternoon so no line), and friendly. The restaurant was large inside and very clean Would definitely go again and would recommend to anyone with an appetite.

Love that they opened a location near the city! We got the brisket and lamb shank. The meat was cooked and seasoned well, the staff was attentive and kind. The restaurant is decorated well and is really clean. Highly recommend going here. Also they have unlimited sides and drinks which is an added perk.

The food may be good here but we did not get a chance to try it. It's an hour drive for us and we called in advance and were told they have meat available. When we arrived on Saturday at 8pm, we were told they are running out of meat and will not be able to serve us as there also 13 parties ahead of us. We were told to come back Sunday and try again. My question to the owners, is this fair to the customer that drove 1 hour to try your restaurant? Why would I try again the next day? A better solution would be to take reservations so you don't waste people time.

For the price you pay for so-called "smoked " meat, it's definitely not worth it. It's meat wrapped in aluminum foil and overcooked. No smoke flavor whatsoever. They'll say they smoke the meat for 14 hrs. 14rs no smoke flavor, that's very deceptive. Sorry, folks, save yourself the disappointment.

Had the beef ribs and what was supposed to be brisket. This place doesn't serve brisket. What they serve is Chuck. The ribs were tough. The smoked Chuck was terrible. Given their deceptive practice, I would not recommend this place. Shame on them.

I heard a decent amount of hype around Meat Moot, so I made my way over there today. I had already been to Bones n' Chefs in Lombard, so I was expecting a similar experience, but Meat Moot is over the top...in a good way! When we first walked in, the hostess gave us a number and directed us to the gentlemen who prepare the meat. Unfortunately there is no menu listing what meats are available, so you have to ask them. From memory, I know they at least have beef brisket and ribs. I said I wanted a lot of meat, so the guy suggested beef brisket. He opened one of the closets in the back (or whatever they're called) and grabbed a foil-wrapped slab of meat. He opened it up, and then the show began. We didn't want the whole slab, so he weighed some out and confirmed that the quantity was okay; I believe we got 1.3 lbs. He applied some seasoning (with style, I might add), and offered us samples on forks. We loved it, so he seasoned the rest of the meat. Then someone else laid out the garnishes. We swiped our card there at the counter. Then someone brought out the meat to our table along with small bowls of rice. A variety of sauces were already set on the table. The waiter then asked what drinks we wanted. This is a good time to explain the pricing model. It's relatively simple. Pricing is based on the amount of meat you get, and the person preparing the meat actually placed a barcode sticker right on the serving platter. Sides and drinks are factored into the price, and they provide refills on those items (no refill on meat, unfortunately!). After you finish your meal, the waiter will bring the official receipt for you to sign and apply the tip, but the actual card swipe is done earlier. Now for the important part: how was the food? It was really, really good. The meat was simply amazing. Tender, juicy, flavorful... The sauces were all tasty enough, but almost all were on the sweet side. They should replace one of the sweeter sauces with either savory or spicy to mix it up a little. The sides included jalapeno peppers, garlic cloves, cherry tomatoes, giardiniera, roasted potatoes, a spinach salad, and a tomato salad. All the sides were decent, but were given in small quantities. The rice was decent as well. I will say that this was an expensive meal. For 1.3 lbs of beef brisket and the aforementioned sides, it came out to $80 with tip. This is a lot more than we usually spend for a meal out (usually we stay in the $30-$40 range for two adults + 1 child), but it did feel like a special meal. It's not something I would do often, but you get really good meat and a one-of-a-kind dining experience that you won't soon forget. Meat Moot is definitely something to keep in mind for a special night out.

Lunch was a smoking hit today! Upon entering, you observe a clean establishment that's spacious and inviting. Scan the QR code to pull up the menu. We were new, so the young man working the counter explained how it all works. Choose your meat, and you pay by the pound. We had beef ribs and beef brisket. The ribs require one pound minimum. There were three in our party, and it was our first meal of the day (a little after 1 p.m.) so thought we might need three pounds. I appreciate the team member telling us that would be entirely too much, and he was right. I also appreciated him pulling some of the fat off when weighing. Okay, so you pay for the meat by the pound, and salad, sauces and beverages are included. And we were also able to choose to add tomatoes, garlic and peppers. Yes, please! The placemats at your seat explain the different sauces and salads. It was a culinary adventure. Everything was delightful. The meat literally fell off the bone. We spent an hour tasting every single sauce with the brisket and ribs. Have you ever tried honey on your brisket? It was different AND good. The hostess was attentive and brought drink refills to the table before we needed to ask, and she was also mindful of bringing just enough of the sauces so as to not let any go to waste. If I had to choose a favorite sauce, it would be the garlic sauce, and the arugula salad complimented everything so well. Grab a couple of friends and check this spot out. It's worth the price. You too may leave with leftovers for dinner or lunch the next day.

Mushy Meats should be the name of the restaurant because all the meats ordered were MUSHY!! Each one pound of meat was approximately $50 per pound and the meats ordered were: Beef Ribs, Brisket aka Chuck Roast/Pot Roast and Lamb Neck. I was under the impression that I ordered one pound of each meat but my total bill was $237.08 without the tip added and after adding a tip, the grand total was $280. The service was GREAT but the food was not to my liking. IMO, the meats do not need to be baked as long as they bake the meats because they definitely don't smoke anything. If you have dental issues, then this is the place for you to come and enjoy Mushy Meats.

Let me start by saying they are all very friendly, warm, inviting people here. The restaurant is warm and beautiful and the music is very relaxing. We drove 3 hrs to stop in for lunch. They explain the concept of how it works before you order. The meat DOES NOT fall off the bone! It's more than that! The bone slid out like it wasn't even there! :) We had the Lamb Shank, Short Ribs and Brisket. We all agreed that the brisket was our favorite! It is a bit pricey, we didn't expect $180 for lunch, for 4 people but it was worth it. The sides were interesting and different from what you get anywhere else. Very minimal options sat in front of you but I guess that's because it's all about the meats. I highly recommend! Best meat we have ever had.

best ever place. the hostess is very polite and greeting, the waitress may / mohammed waiter is one of a kind always on top of things. the hostess/ waitress tonite was amazing and accommodating to my client and i.... the manager also is amazing, Beautiful experience every time..love this place....i recommend to everyone that this is the place to be. once u try ( meat moot ) and eat there beef ribs / brisket you wont ever eat anywhere else . i give it a "10" star review...its a must... thank you( Meat Moot ) its a pleasure to dine-in a place that makes you feel like family...great job to the manager and all staff.. I visited this place during the week it was easy ordering your food and the service was prompt and very welcoming. The food was delicious and delightful. The meat fell off the bone. The sides were complimentary and you could get extra servings of the sides. It's enough to share with others. Plenty of different sauces to try . I tried the beef ribs also the brisket and the lamb shank . The leftovers were good the next day.

This is definitely not a 5 start restaurant (as per a previous review), so please don't go there thinking of that!. At best feels a bit like the taco bell of smoked meats, which is a good thing, but don't go there expecting a lot. It's an experience for sure. Service is good, but the meat could have been spiced more, felt a bit bland and the dipping sauces while unlimited was in small quantities which were not great at all.

The food was very good and the sauces were delicious. However the menus only consists of like seven things which is great but it would've been nice to see what else a smoking meat place has to offer. The service was great the servers would consistently check in on you and they were all very nice.

Excellent place, clean, efficient and professional and elegant staff, they were very patient and accommodating to one disrespectful customer who demanded an item which ran out close to closing, meat as we understood is prepared overnight with set amount.. Food is tasty, prices are very reasonable .

A friend of mine came here for dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed out meal. You come here for the meat. Dont have much expectations for the sides...there were plenty of them but a bit dry for my liking. I loved their service though! It was not expected but much appreciated.

I definitely think this is one of those places you just have to try. Whether it'll be a one time thing, a monthly or even simply just a yearly outing, it's a perfect fit because you can't go wrong! The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The show they do while choosing the meat is fascinating. Fall off the bone meat that is tender and flavorful. $45/lb of meat isn't cheap but it sure is worth of the experience and taste. My team and I ate the beef brisket (our personal favorite!) and the lamb shoulder.
