I've never heard of Meat N' Bone until I drove past it, but it certainly is an interesting idea for a meat market. I expected to walk in and see/smell lots of meat. I was confused when I saw none, but the worker seemed enthusiastic about his job and showed me how it all goes down.
They're internet based but still have a store. Meaning if you'd like to go in and order youd do it on their computer theyd let you use. They're method of ordering is either online and then you can pick it up the same day, or order delivery. Their delivery options are same day within 2 hours ($$), same day by 8pm ($) or next day or further in the future is free. I chose to have mine delivered 2 days from the order date which is free. It was delivered on time and we got to keep the reusable bag it came with.
I ordered duck sausage with orange liquor which was very good. I'm not a huge sausage fan myself but had to try this. It didnt let me down. It was very juicy, a little fatty, but plenty of flavor. I also ordered chistorra which I've never heard of before. To me it reminded me of a mixture of chorizo, hot dog, and sausage. It has an interesting color to it. It's a very dense meat that tasted great just pretty greasy.
Lastly, one of my favorite steaks, skirt steak. It was very similar in how it was trimmed and priced to something youd find a publix. It's also a fatty meat but most of it burns off. Super flavorful, juicy and melts in your mouth. It was sold for $22.99 for a slab between 1 and 1.4 lbs. To me this was weird because a 40% window can be great if it's on the high end or leaving me feel cheated if it's on the low end. For reviews sake as well as my OCD sake, I had to weigh it to see what kind of deal I was getting and as you can see they earned 5 stars there too. Yes theres the bag weight and yes theres some blood leftover but overall a pretty decent deal.
Their prices aren't cheap but they sure do present quality specialty meats. They apparently hand select cows and regularly get wagyu from Japan. I dont recall all the details of they're specialty stuff but he sure was proud to share the details. Be sure to stop in and talk meats with them if you're interested!
