"Meat On Ocean’s 11,000 square foot restaurant is sure to be full of folks washing away a hangover with meat, seafood, and one of MOO’s hearty cocktails. All of it comes comes with an Ocean Avenue and Pacific view, with a side of braised meatballs, or the New York strip steak." - Mona Holmes

First time trying Lobster Tails. The best!!! This meal was very addicting. Can’t wait to go back and order the Sea Scallops for next time! Atmosphere is beautiful here. Don’t skip this restaurant and don’t be afraid to spend extra money here!

This restaurant was excellent! The atmosphere, establishment, staff and hospitality was excellent! You must try their aged steaks. Seasoned to perfection. Hands down to our waiter! He added perfection to my birthday! Thank you guys!

Google
Honestly, this place deserves far more stars. The drinks? Perfect. The charcuterie board? The only one who can mess it up is you and even if you do the staff will replace something you don't like. Amazing. The crab cakes? Some of the best. The steak? If you had a last meal this would be the steak you pray they bring you. I ate way more than I could handle, it felt like a sin to leave any bite behind. The server offered to replace everything I ordered if it wasn't to my liking, world class service.

Amazing steak next to 3rd street! Valet parking for $17 right in front of the restaurant or can park at the more affordable hourly parking structure. Sitting near the ocean makes the food get cold quickly. We went for dinner so it was pretty dark outside. Service was great, the staff attentive.

My friend and I went for lunch. The warm rolls were amazing. We ordered wagyu, ribeye, lamb chops, sautéed spinach and the sautéed mushrooms. Everything was exquisite and cook to perfection. I look forward to my next visit.

I got the 20oz, 45 day dry aged ribeye for $80 and it was the best steak I've ever had! Sooooo tender, with perfect amount of fat. Also incredible were the kielbasa, mac and cheese, pistachio crème brûlée (dark chocolate on top is fire), cheesecake (some of the best cheesecake I've ever had), and Barbera wine. Asparagus was decent, wouldn't get again. Service was fantastic. Now one of my favorite restaurants in LA!

It was amazing. You probably wanna make reservations it does get crowded. We were there for my mom's 75th birthday, the restaurant, which was clean in and outside. The valet young lady was nice. The price is $18 3 hour validation. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance it wasn't overly noisy. we sat by the window, which had a wonderful view of the Santa Monica Pier and the water. Both of our waiters were amazing. I believe one was named Josh. And I know our main waiter was named Sean. He was very nice, friendly, and very attentive to the 6 of us in our group. The food was very good we ordered the twin lobster tails with spinach and a side of mashed potatoes, the 30 day dry rub rib eye steak with tomato and mashed potatoes, Chilean sea bass, rack of lamb and a steak salad and a nice bowl of clam chowder. At the end of dinner time for a slice of birthday cake, chocolate with a Raspberry sauce and whipped cream and bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream.

Yelp
I have been to this restaurant quite a few times for the past two years that I've been in LA. The food has been consistently excellent. Steak's temperature is just right, and the drink menu cater to a wide range of customers. But that's not the reason I'm leaving a comment! Last night, my server for the table is Ruben, and he one of the best servers I have ever seen. His recommendation for the table's appetizers were spot on (they were the first ones we finished), and he took the time to circle back and introduce background for the dishes as well. Additionally, he continuously checked in with us and always ensured our needs are taken care of as soon as possible. As it was my graduation celebration, he took amazing photos for our table upon requested. I enjoyed this restaurant even prior to experience his service, but it's certainly true that above all others it was Ruben's professional attitude that makes me want to visit again before I depart from LA. Thank you, Ruben, for helping me to end off my graduation day with a perfect dinner! ((Regretfully I did not take any photos for the food T^T))

Yelp
We order a rib eye and the salmon The rib eye was the next cooked I order medium they brought me a rare rib eye not worth the $65 the salmon was undercooked Service was ok.

Kristine K.

Yelp
The prime new york 14 oz medium rare was cooked to perfection. With that, I got 1/2 bottle carafe of Pinot Noir, SAMsARA and it was wonderful as well. With that being said, the service was awful. The gentleman serving me was very nice, don't get me wrong, but his timing to come check on me was absurd. I went on a weekday during roughly 2pm; meaning there were only a few other people there dining. Not busy at all. He started off by taking my order and I let him know I wanted the steak and how I wanted it cooked and so on.. he wrote that down and then said "the steak comes with a side, I recommend our cauliflower because it has cheese and it's great" so I decided to try it out. Mind you, I had already handed him my menu and was just going off what was said. He was right, everything in terms of the food was great. The restaurant itself is gorgeous as well and offers a lot of seating. It looks very classy and relaxed. Anyways, my bill came and I saw that I was charged for the cauliflower as well. I didn't realize it was its own separate dish and even when it was at my table I remember questioning why a side choice was so big; but then it made sense. I looked up the menu on my phone and saw that he had miscommunicated what he specifically said was a "side that came with the steak" as a "for the table" dish. I'm not deducting any stars for that particular incident because it was only $13 and I should have asked more questions instead of taking his word for it. I am deducting stars for the 20+ minutes I waited for my waiter to finally bring me my check. It would've been a different story if it was even remotely busy, but I just saw him roaming around or talking to other staff members. I tried to kindly make eye contact and even look to see if I could have someone from the bar give me my check; but nope. I waited. Once he I don't know, I just think at a lovely place like this.. your service should go beyond being "nice" and then neglecting your guests.

Yelp
Meat on Ocean is an absolute gem nestled right across from the picturesque ocean in Santa Monica. From the moment we stepped in, we were enchanted by the beautiful and cozy ambiance. Our experience was elevated by the exceptional service, particularly from the charismatic manager, Brian, whose vibrant personality and spot-on recommendations made our visit truly memorable. Every dish we tried was a culinary masterpiece: - The bone marrow was bursting with incredible flavor, leaving us savoring every last bite. - The crab cake, cooked to perfection in butter, boasted a delightful crunch on the outside and a melt-in-your-mouth softness inside, easily ranking among the best we've ever had. - The charcuterie platter was a work of art, featuring a delectable assortment of meats and cheeses, accompanied by a side of honeycomb and various sauces that added depth to every bite. - The filet mignon was a prime cut of meat, perfectly complemented by a luscious béarnaise sauce. - The sautéed spinach, infused with garlic, was a simple yet divine accompaniment that tantalized our taste buds. - And let's not forget the Pistachio Crème Brûlée with melted dark chocolate--each spoonful was a heavenly indulgence, offering a unique twist on a classic dessert that we couldn't get enough of. Our lunch experience was so exceptional that we couldn't resist returning for dinner, where we indulged in even more delectable treats, including the sausage, shrimp tempura, and of course, more of that irresistible charcuterie. Needless to say, Meat on Ocean has secured a special place in our hearts and on our list of favorite dining spots. We can't wait to return and continue our culinary adventure at this outstanding establishment.

Yelp
Sunset view was nice, sat in the middle of restaurant facing West- steaks were good, w buttered buns n sides. Nice cocktails. The interior setup feels lux, a bit darker but lightly lit ambiance. Nice times

Tammy S.

Yelp
The ambiance is loud. The dress code is somewhat casual. Our server was friendly. All of our orders were delicious. I wasn't a fan of the sauces on the side, except for the chimichurri. The meatballs with breadsticks appetizer as really good. The shishitos were okay but wished I had asked for no Bonita flakes. The side dishes were okay but asparagus had no flavor, mashed potatoes were nothing special, and the Mac and cheese was dry and bland. BUT. this place completely redeemed itself with their steaks. So delicious. And the cocktails were pretty good.

Tara F.

Yelp
Been meaning to try this place out for a while, and last night had dinner here. We had the Cesar salad and oysters to start - both really good. They also bring this delicious buttery bread for the table. For the main dish, we had the prime rib (medium rare because that's how it should be had) and the mashed potatoes. Both dishes were phenomenal. Our server, Shanell, was really great - attentive and very kind. She checked in on us an appropriate amount of time and also provided recommendations when we asked. The restaurant itself is really nice. It's very large, dim lighting and you have the ocean view. Perfect for dates, groups and families. Highly recommended.

Jojo H.

Yelp
Love this place, the only this is, when you're sitting by the bar, you're not looking at the ocean or no people watching unless you sit by the table. Food is great, it's on the pricey side.

Niaz K.

Yelp
This was a great steak with even better service. I could've done without the sides, didn't really love any of them....could be because I filled up on the delicious bread. Wow. It was so good. 10/10 recommend the steak and bread with butter here. They have outdoor and indoor seating and also a sexy bar. Great to take your parents or for a business meeting.

Yelp
Meat on Ocean is a classic, high-end steakhouse on the Santa Monica waterfront near the pier. The location has parking options nearby, but this is a high parking demand environment. We were very lucky to find a street space opposite, but I had expected us to need to park a couple of blocks away at least given the location. The restaurant interior is great. Unlike the average steakhouse, it is light and open and not dark and oppressive. The front of the restaurant is open to the elements, which is one of the attractions. On the day we were present it was a very windy day, and the blinds and heating they had were amazingly effective at keeping us comfortable (neither cold nor blown) despite the storm. The menu selection is great. There is a very wide range of dishes, including a great range of steaks as well as many other choices. There is a fresh sheet too with cuts sold by weight. Service was super. Prompt, responsive and great attention to detail. Our steaks came out very well (see pictures) and I especially enjoyed the Ribeye with added onions & mushrooms. I saved room for dessert which was a decent but not amazing chocolate cake. Overall, a great location with super food. Strongly recommended.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for the longest time. My family and I came here for lunch and everyone who worked there was so friendly. We got seated at a booth that had a great view of the ocean. It's a pretty big restaurant and has a really good vibe inside. Our server Max was awesome. He gave us some really good recommendations. The bread pudding dessert was incredible. Max told us it was at the top of the list for a reason. We can't wait to come back here for dinner!!

Connie G.

Yelp
This is our new favorite steakhouse! The food has consistently delivered steak to perfection!! The staff is kind, and the service varies and the cocktails are not bad. We celebrated our anniversary and came back to treat our friends who were viewing from out of town and they loved it!

Stephanie R.

Yelp
Fantastic food, huge wine selection, met my sister here and couldn't have been more pleased. The pictures of the restaurant will speak for themselves. Service and ambiance was also a 10. Will be back for sure. I want to try everything!! The wedge salad was so good, the oyster sampler, and Spanish octopus were fantastic. The BRILLAT SAVARIN - TRIPLE CREAM is a must. And you can cut the filet with spoon. We will be back for sure.

Yelp
Meat On Ocean is a great place to visit for groups or for a nice date night. I came here for a work dinner so a group of 10 people and we had a lot of shareable plates such as the Mac n cheese and shishito peppers, but we also shared a few different steak cuts with crab cakes, and oysters and mashed potatoes. The old fashioned was the best cocktail to top it off. The service was great as they were able to break down the menu in a way that helps curate your ordering style.

Sebastian U.

Yelp
Great spot for a date night. Aaron was our server and provided exceptional service. Very warm energy and attentive throughout the night. We ordered a dozen oysters (highly recommend the one's from Ensenada), miso glazed pork belly a bone-in ribeye to share and sides. Everything was delicious. While we were waiting for our apps, the manager, Kevin came to our table to introduce himself and gave us a little tour of the room where they dry age the steaks. It's a great restaurant, great location, great food, but above all the people are what makes it truly memorable evening. Thanks!

Rolando C.

Yelp
I came here for a work holiday dinner event. I passed by this place a lot, but never actually been inside and so added it to my list of places to check out. Luckily others at work wanted to check it out as well. A glad we decided to take the plunge and go for it. Everyone had various types of dishes from porterhouse, prime, filet mignon, and even wild Pacific yellowfin. We shared the charcuterie board for both sides of the table, and when the main portion of the meal came, we ordered a side of asparagus, Mac & Cheese, and mashed potatoes. They also give you a side of bread to have while you wait for your meal. All of these side dishes were good, and it made us want more of it. I ordered the "Three Ways" which is Filet Mignon Medallions with 3 different sauces. One with peppercorn sauce, another with bordelaise, and then finally the last one with bearnaise. I enjoyed them all, I'd have to say the one that stuck out to me the most would be the peppercorn sauce. The service was great and the ambience was good. The noise was little loud, but it was a busy Wednesday night and therefore to be expected when it's crowded. Overall experience was great and I'd choose coming here again for another work dinner or celebrate a special occasion.

Kevin S.

Yelp
5/5 stars for the outstanding service from Jonathan, our server. So friendly, fun, attentive, and helpful. He is the best and made for such a great experience. 5/5 stars for the ambiance. Very cool, luxurious, hip, and upscale. 4/5 stars for the quality. Tasty, flavorful steaks. Definitely aged well. Lacked a bit of tenderness. 3/5 stars for the pricing. Everything from the steaks to the sides are overpriced for what you pay for. They're tasty, but not quite Michelin-star tasty. And you're paying close to those prices. Overall, 4/5 stars. I would recommend Meat on Ocean for a a steak lover that's looking for a Santa Monica based date spot, or a spot for a special, celebratory occasion.

Patrick W.

Yelp
This place is an amazing establishment. We came here a bit late (an hour before). We have walked past this place probably over 100 times. And this time, we finally came. It was expected in terms of food. It was on the pricier side by the food was delicious and the ocean view that came with it was beautiful. The music was fun and had a vibe that screamed, "let's vibe". I can't wait to come back again.

Israel G.

Yelp
What do you get when you combine an ocean view, a selection of meats from around the world, classy cocktails, -attentive service, and a nostalgic showroom worthy of Rat Pack-ish decor and vibes? Well, you get this place. The bread served freshly baked was a revelation of simplicity and authenticity. So so good. We paired these beauties with the most tender meatball appetizer. Wow. We had some clam chowder too and I have to admit, I was almost full by then. But it's called Meat on Ocean. So we ordered meat. The steaks were all premium grade and cooked to order. Buttery and delicious. Such a treat to eat here with the slightly overcast weather, overlooking Santa Monica Pier, and enjoying comforting foods that warm the stomach and the soul. My only wish would be if the steaks were cooked on a wood fire but alas, I am tainted and biased from the Central Coast BBQ and my palate has acquired tastes and expectation that not all can deliver.

Carolyna R.

Yelp
Came for my 7 year anniversary, The food was good. You can tell it's quality products but the service was top tier, our server Valentina was very helpful as it was our first time and she was very kind. Would come back

Pipoca C.

Yelp
Stopped by to complete my Santa Monica steakhouse trifecta (after having eaten at Boa and Del Frisco already). Service was attentive and besides our server and hostess, at least one other staff member greeted us and checked in on us throughout the meal. We had a pretty nice table near the outdoor patio, which offered a very nice view of the beach and sunset. It would have been spectacular if we had been seated at that outer row with unobstructed views, but despite open tables, we were seated two rows back. Decided on the 45 day dry-aged bone-in ribeye, along with the bacon Mac n cheese, and the shishito peppers to start. The steak was good, though not as marbled as I had expected. Given that our server mentioned that the dry aged steak would have better marbling than the Prime rib eye, I wonder now whether the Prime would have been the better option. Other than that, it was a pleasant meal, with a friendly staff, and nice beachside views. I'm glad I got to finally cross off this steakhouse from my list

Monica S.

Yelp
Excellent I was there yesterday. Love it. Food, ambience, view, service good lady. For sure I will be back Desert didn't try it. But steak yummy.

Sonya S.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this restaurant althougjy it was in the afternoon. I could tell if you go for dinner, it's gonna to be an experience. My lunch was steak Salad which I have never had, it was so tender. It was like butter melting in my mouth. I will give this restaurant another chance in The evening For the experience and i'm sure it's going to be fantastic. The margaritas were great.

Shauntina S.

Yelp
We had the best meal here celebrating a friends Birthday. She is Keto and loves a good steak so we picked this place. The food was delicious. We only had one small issue where her medium steak came medium well to well done. They fixed it promptly. The spinach, asparagus, mashed potatoes and bread were a hit. The miso garlic pork belly was the best flavor of the entire meal. Landon was our server and he wS top notch. So helpful and attentive, funny and caring. He made the night. The views were beautiful, and even though this place is very elegant the vibe was casual, most people in shorts because it's on the beach.

Shirley W.

Yelp
Been here a few times, whether it is grabbing a quick drink at the bar, or full on 3 course dinner, it has not disappointed. The bar-- the chairs are large and comfy. These are no joke the best luxurious swirls your tushy would sit in. At sunset, the glimpses of the ocean as your back drop, it is lovely and rosey. The oyster-- I am always an oyster lover. I order them everywhere I go. The dink and sink action adds shades of smiles on participants faces. They have 3 different types, and you can try em all. The Mac n Cheese-- YAAASSS. When there is more cheese than mac, it is delicious. This is the type of place I would make a reservation for dinner for a bday, or sit at the bar to rest my tired old sole after a long beach day. Come hungry

Sanny C.

Yelp
I came here recently for a birthday dinner. Reservation was easy. We got seated right away. However, the booth area smelled pretty bad. I am not sure if it was every table. The table next to us didn't say anything, so we decided to suck it up. Maybe the place was a tad old...I dunno. Wedge salad looked fresh. It was good, but not enough dressing. We requested more. The lamb chops were ok. Whatever they put on top made the lamb somewhat hard. Birthday boy didn't enjoy it much. We also ordered the steak by the ounces. At first, we wanted to try multiple meats. We planned to order like maybe 8 or 10oz of a few. However, the waitress told us that we gotta order a minimum of 20oz. So we opted for a 20oz of the 120 days dry age. The taste was good. BD boy actually liked the steak more than his lamb chop. The ribs were good. My friend liked it. Meat was tender and juicy. Mac & cheese was ok. Tasted ok..just a bit dry, IMO. Mash potatoes were good. We finished it all. What I didn't like and didn't expect was a charge for 24oz steak. We clearly stated we wanted the 20 ounces. I didn't even notice it until I went over the receipt at home. Idiot me! Also, the waitress kept pushing us to order more. It kinda annoying. Oysters were fresh. We enjoyed the oysters a lot. The complimentary breads were good, but a little too salty. No butter was given. Also, bread was cold. We got a free cheesecake since it was BD boy day. It was not bad. Yum Foods took pretty long to arrive. They cleaned up quite a lot. It wasn't a big deal. Overall, the place was ok. I myself will not return.

Miguel M.

Yelp
Turns out I did have pics of my dishes. Going to post them before I remove them. Going to have to come back in soon. Going to wait till the summer.

Aguirre M.

Yelp
Great service from our wonderful server Emery and the chef and the rest of the team who prepared our steak and everything else to perfection. The only complaint I have is the rude female hostess assigned on 04/28/2024 around 6-6:30 pm. She led us to be seated and when I politely asked to be seated at an open table next to the street she made a rude remark of "oh I was confused by your request" her referring to my written request to have a table by the window / street when I made the reservation. I then asked her again what she said and she repeated herself rudely while leading us to the table we requested. I'm not to easily get offended but her rude side comment was unnecessary as I asked her politely if we could sit at the open table. Again props to the rest of the staff who treated us kindly except for that one rude hostess.

Daniel S.

Yelp
From the food, service, and to the ambiance this place is among the best in the city. We had the 20 or so oz and crushed the grilled cauliflower, the Mac and cheese, and the bone marrow. The homie also had French fries. The food was amazing. The steak medium 45 day old bone in rib eye at 4.05 per ounce was delish. The Mac and cheese was well lout together and the excellent bone marrow made you feel like you are a fox in the wild. The service is tremendous here and so too is the view of the ocean from the table. All in all meats as good as BOA and amongst the very best in the whole county! We loved the cheesecake with raspberry sauce on side. Amazing place!

Remy H.

Yelp
The sea bass and crab cake were delicious. Big chunks of crab meat in the crab cake. Service could've been better especially considering the prices you're paying. There are other way better steak houses on the west side than Meat On Ocean. However, this is a good spot if you want a very casual steak house with an ocean view while dining.

Blaise H.

Yelp
Fantastic all around. The views, service, drinks, and food were all fabulous! Make sure to get a table closest to the outside to take in all the views of the pier and ocean. The cocktail I got was flavorful and refreshing. The charcuterie boards are all so unique and customizable. A little help from our server helped us choose the perfect cheese and meats. The main dish (Filet Mignon) was very tender and juicy. It was super flavorful as well. This restaurant is definitely one I will be returning to. The price point is high but so is the quality of their food.

Steph E.

Yelp
Let's start with the food. It was okay and as expected. we had lunch and dinner a few times at this restaurant, and most of the time it was ok. I have no complaints about the quality of the food. However, the service was pretty slow, what made our experience bad, was the audacity of the valet parking lady who asked us to call 3 minutes before we were about to leave so they could get our car, and when we got out, she told us that it will take at least 15 minutes to get it, but IF WE PAY HER EXTRA SHELL GET IT FASTER. I wonder how a restaurant let a valet ruin its reputation by the Crooks that run their valet. So the next time I'll be in Santa Monica and want a steak, I'll find a nicer restaurant. One that respects its customers.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I'm not the biggest steak person, but I can definitely enjoy a quality cut of meat! Meat on Ocean had one of the best dry-aged steaks I've had! We got a 20oz bone in 45 day dry aged ribeye for around $80 and it was so flavorful and tender! It paired perfectly with their trio of sauces, and we ended up choosing the bernaise, chimichurri, and horseradish. Also get a side of their Parmesan mashed potatoes with this since they go perfectly together! We started off with a fresh oyster sampler and some appetizers like their grilled octopus and beef carpaccio. I feel like both dishes could have had a bit more flavor, but overall it was truly a great meal! If you sit outside on their patio, you also get a great view of the ocean which is perfect for summer!

Michelle C.

Yelp
Our favorite place to go when we go to Santa Monica. Rib eye was cooked just right, so delicious. Had Mac and cheese, mash and cauliflower.

Rich K.

Yelp
I don't do many reviews, so something has to stand out for me to make the effort. My guest and I both got painful food poisoning after eating here. Given this was the only meal we had in common, it had to be this restaurant. We ate on Tuesday night, and spent all of Wednesday on the toilet. I'm still having terrible explosive DIARRHEA as I'm trying to finish this review. We shared a T-Bone, sides and some sauces. When I look back at the food, some of the items did seem suspect. Especially the chimichurri and horseradish cream. The cream had some large chunks of something I couldn't identify, and the chimichurri was mostly liquid, with sparse herbs and garlic anywhere. Even if we didn't get sick, the food was mediocre, while the prices were astronomical. Server was okay, and pretty attentive. As we were making our way to the parking garage, I knew we were in for a terrible evening as our stomachs were not happen with what we consumed. Eat at your own risk. There are better options in the area, that likely won't make you sick.

Ingrid L.

Yelp
I've gone to Meat on Ocean for charcuterie and had a great time. I was very excited to have another opportunity to eat here. Our server was absolutely fantastic and was able to provide us with some great recommendations. I'll admit, I'm not a huge steakhouse person. I make a pretty good steak and haven't really had a good enough steak to match the upcharge. Bone Marrow- I think this was one of the only underwhelming things we got. This might be because it's not my favorite thing anyways. If you like marrow, I think it would be a solid option. Kielbasa- This was my favorite things we got. They make the kielbasa from the scraps of their steaks. It was so flavorful but not greasy at all. I will get this every time. Chilean sea bass- this was perfectly cooked, buttery, flakey and just delicious. Porterhouse- we got the 30 day to share and WOW. We loved this. I think it really showcased what they are known for. Mac and Cheese- Slightly above average mac and cheese. Made with 4 cheeses and bacon. Mashed potatoes- buttery and delicious. Solid option. Sauces- We ordered one of each sauce. Truthfully, all the meat is so flavorful in themselves that they could all be eaten alone. I tried all the sauces and didn't feel like they were outstanding. I like the horseradish and chimichurri the best. No need to order more than the sauce that comes with each steak. We had such a good time here and I would highly recommend going for a nice meal! I don't think they take reservations but I would recommend going in to put your name on the list and requesting a table on the patio before walking around Santa Monica.

Todd W.

Yelp
This location is awesome. Right in front of the Santa Monoca peir with an awesome view. The meat is incredible! Have aged porterhouse, ribeyes that melt in your mouth. I went for the surf and turf and was not disappointed. The dessert NY cheese cake was the best I've had in LA. I highly recommend!

Gary S.

Yelp
Great service (ask for Kelly as your server), food and ambianceance. Go Go Go! And remember that they have free corkage.

Sheila C.

Yelp
Just left about an hour ago. Oh man. It was a favorite and I haven't been in awhile. The bartender Josh was a 5 for the martinis. Didn't over ice them, olives were on point. However we asked for bread and it took enough time that we asked two more times. Finally comes, is hot. Yaaay. Dinner was the "thing". My guy was good with our appetizers and his salmon. I ordered the steak salad for dinner. Simple. Easy. But it was awful. My steak was overcooked. Very medium well. Ok, nothing to lose my mind over, but it is MEAT at MEAT. Pointed out to Josh and my guy and they said it looked ok. Josh did offer to replace it. Kudos! Then I thought...Fine, maybe it was me or the lighting? But then I started to actually eat/chew, it was REALLY dry and lukewarm and got a mouthful of gristle! I politely spit it out in a cocktail napkin. Next piece (2 of 3)...SAME! I mentioned it to my guy when he saw me (politely) put the next piece in the napkin. The third piece was the same. Maybe they use scraps for the salads ? (which they shouldn't do) Dunno. Definitely room for improvement on that one. I really want this restaurant to make it. Love it and the location.

Yelp
Celebrating being alive with seafood. Luxury Seafood And Steak Brunch For The Birthday Girl, My Mama. I treated my Queen to a eatery I've had my eyes on and this was the perfect day. Street, Valet, and Parking structures available Food Review Rating: Customer Service: The entire waitstaff exemplified excellence! Jonathan you were amazing and should get a raise! The restaurant was beautiful with a beach view right on Ocean street. Clean establishment. Pictured: Speciality Dinner Rolls were soft and buttery. Only recommendation have the option to opt out of the copious amount of sea salt sprinkled on top. Chimichurri Filet Mignonette - Flavors incredibly infused and meat cooked to perfect medium temperature. Mash Potatoes were amazing whipped and seasoned with the right balance of salt and pepper Macaroni and Cheese is next level with hints of asmoky flavor and topped with bacon . Amazing combination ! Alaska King Crab Legs were tender and delicious, perfectly paired with melted butter and a side salad. Clam Chowder was delicious, great balancing of clam to potato ratio. I could have eaten three bowls of that Follow @Tasteandseesocal for mouthwatering food

Yelp
Great restaurant right along the water by the Santa Monica pier! We had to wait with a drink at the bar for a table outside but so worth it! We started with the bone marrow and can't say it was bad but not sure we'd ever order again! Hill said his filet was delicious and my Sea Bass has a fantastic flavor!

Yelp
I liked it, we came late, like an hour before closing and service was amazing. Their clam chowder only comes with pork and that was disappointing since I wanted it without, but everything else was amazing. Service is quite fast and I liked the presentation of the food. Overall 5 star

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance was good though the portions are small but expensive. I will be honest, I was not blown away with the meat and cooking especially for the price. Would I go there again?... potentially for the specialty meats otherwise probably not. I had: SMOKED KIELBASA Roasted peppers, grain mustard -18 "THREE WAYS" -54 Roasted King Salmon - 44 All for 127.89 + 18% tip for a total of $148.77

Yelp
I will update my review in a few days. Busy week! However, I did want to express that Gavin and Justin were outstanding. Justin brought us to our table and also helped to coordinate a larger one with extra room for our puppy carrier. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Then Gavin came and provided great insight on our wine, charcuterie, entrees, and dessert selections. This is a guy that knows the menu inside and out. And he can talk about it first hand. Of course that should go without saying right? But Evan just brought that extra something to elevate the experience. Everything was perfect as usual. This is our second visit in two months. We can't wait for our next dining experience at Meat On Ocean!

Yelp
Unclean But they don't seem to care. Hostess brought us to a table with crumbs all over it (not exaggerating). I picked up a napkin to start sweeping them away in front of the hostess. Did she see me? Yes. Did she care? No. Did she apologize for the dirty conditions? No. In fact, she couldn't have cared less. We sat near the street, open-air side. With the light shining in (and probably even without), there was a sickening amount of dust on the floor under all the tables. You could tell that they sweep/clean only AROUND the tables and not under. And while they probably don't need to clean underneath all the time, you'd hope that a restaurant would want a higher level of cleanliness. To be fair, the 2 stars are for the food. We had a few appetizers and salad and drinks. I would not recommend the salami, but the cheeses we selected were good. Value was probably par-for-the-course for LA. Bottom line: I would not recommend. If front of house is this dirty and staff so apathetic about it, I can only imagine kitchen conditions.

Yelp
First time here. Night out with team and we were looking forward to nice dinner but all went wrong from service to steak . It was an odd night I think for the server and kitchen staff. Server forgot extra napkins, steak for all 7 of us was cold and asked for sauce it never came. The only thing was nice is the ambiance. My Co worker complained to manager and they warmed the food again and still wasn't good enough. They did remove 2 of the orders. Place very busy but personally won't go back.

Yelp
In terms of service and menu I give it a full 5 stars, but there wasn't a question of how we wanted our steaks cooked. Both aged ribeyes share ended up being too rare.. the room and setting is nice and spacious

Yelp
My favorite steakhouse in the Los Angeles area right now. Have been there no less than x3 times before finally writing this review. Each visit was an enjoyable experience, each one better than the last. Great ambiance and location, with the best tables in the open air area next to Ocean Ave, hence the name "Meat On Ocean". From the dining area you can see the butchery where the steaks are cut through glass windows, and meat in various stages of dry aging process. On my most recent visit I had the pleasure of enjoying a perfectly done 30 day dry-aged and hand cut Bone-In Ribeye Steak. Wow. It was on another level, and I would highly recommend it. The rolls they bring to the table are also amazing, and make sure to have the Roasted Bone Marrow.

Yelp
Service was fantastic. We didn't have a reservation so we sat at the bar but it was still very attentive. The meatballs were so good but the steak was great, the overall ambiance is classy but relaxed. Just a walk away from the beach, so the location was super.
